After receiving his first badge, Cletus joins Davis and Tetsu on the journey. As all of them travel together, they head for Floriba City for Davis' second gym battle. In fact, they arrived there in just no time.

"There it is! Just down there!" Cletus said as they looked down from a hill and could see Floriba City.

"Yes! My second gym is just down there!" Davis said as he was excited.

"Wait a minute, Davis." Tetsu said as he wasn't sure about this. "There are plenty of other gyms. How come we can't just go to one of them?"

"Because there's one right here." Davis said.

"Let's go. I want to see what this gym is like." Imperialdramon said. The others hurried on down, but Tetsu wasn't so sure about this. It seems that there's something there he's not going to like.

(Davis' voice) The Florida Triad

"We're here! Where's the gym?!" Davis said as he looked around.

"Calm down, Davis. It's not like the gym is going anywhere." Cletus said. They get he's excited, but he does need to settle down. They looked around for where the gym is, but Cletus noticed something. "Hey, check out the ad." They all had a look and it was about a performance happening.

"Come and see the water performance at the Floriba Gym." Imperialdramon read. "What? The gym is also a stage or something?"

"Well, at least we know where the gym is. Let's go check it out." Davis said. He, Imperialdramon, and Cletus hurried on to the gym, but Tetsu stayed back. He didn't look that excited about going.

...

The Gym

Davis and the others soon arrived at the gym. They could see ads for the performance were all over the place and it indicated that this was the gym.

"This looks like the place, but how are you going to have a gym battle if there's a show going on?" Cletus questioned.

"Details, details. Let's just go inside so I can get my second badge." Davis said as he was ready to go, but Imperialdramon noticed that Tetsu wasn't anywhere.

"Hold on. Where's Tetsu?" Imperialdrmaon questioned. They looked around, but saw no sign of him anywhere. "Hasn't Tetsu been acting strange? It was almost like he didn't want to come here."

"Well, he knows that we're here so I'm sure he'll meet up with us later." Davis said. He was sure they would meet up wit Tetsu later and went on inside with the others. "Hello! I'm here for a gym battle!" Davis called, but it seemed like there was no one around.

"Hey. Do you hear that?" Cletus said. They all listened carefully and it sounded like there was an audience cheering. "It's coming from over there." The three of them went on ahead and sound found their way into a large hall. There was a crowd with a pool in the center of the arena. They must be at the stage for the show they were told about.

"Welcome, everyone! The show is about to being!" An announcer said. "I'm sure you're all dying to see them! Well, just look up ahead!" A couple lights shined and they all had their sights on two young women that looked identical. One had aquamarine hair with a swimsuit of the same color with her hair tied back. The other one looked just like her, but her hair was a dark blue with wavy hair and her swimsuit was the same color. "There they are! The Floriba Twin Stars: Nami and Navy!"

"Who and who?" Davis questioned.

"I think I've heard of them. They're famous performers." Cletus said. The show began with music playing and both of them dived straight into the water. Inside the pool were a whole bunch of pokemon. "Look at all those pokemon! This gym must specialize in water-types!"

"A water-type gym..." Davis said as he was already trying to think of ways to battle. As the show went on, it was elegant, classy, and beautiful. Nami and Navy certainly knew what they were doing. The crowd certainly loved it. They danced with the pokemon and really knew how to use the water in their show.

"Wow. They so look classy and professional." Cletus said as he was rather impressed with the show.

"I've got to admit, it was rather nice." Davis said as he too was enjoying it.

...

Later

Davis and the others stuck around to watch the show. Everyone was impressed with what they saw. People began to clear out when the show was over, but this was Davis' chance to get a gym battle. When the show was over, Navy and Nami were drying themselves off.

"Another great performance. We are like so awesome." Nami claimed.

"Yeah, but I think the other suits would have been toats adores." Navy said.

"Hello. Excuse me." Davis said when he and his friends walked down to them. "You're names are Navy and Nami right?"

"I take it you're new because everyone knows us around here. I'm Nami." The one in aquamarine said. "Navy here is my twin sister."

"I bet I know what this is about. How many autographs are we talking about here?" Navy asked.

"We don't want autographs." Cletus said.

"I want to know where the gym leader is." Davis claimed. "My name is Davis, and I came all this way to challenge the Floriba Gym. That was a great performance you pulled, but I want to have a gym battle." When he said that, the girls seemed to have gotten a little annoyed.

"Oh boy. Not another challenger." Navy said.

"Actually, we happen to be the gym leaders." Nami claimed. Hearing that both of them were gym leaders was a surprise to both of them.

"Two gym leaders?!" Cletus said.

"I guess that means we'll have to battle both of them to get that badge." Imperialdramon said.

"That's just fine. I'll take on both of you if I have to get that badge." Davis said as he was ready for a battle, but neither of them really seemed that interested in battling. "What's wrong? I'm challenging both of you here."

"It's just that we get challengers all the time." Nami said.

"Yeah. They want to battle and it's like such a drag. Not to mention it's a waste of time that we could have used for shopping, rehearsing, or really anything that's fun." Navy said.

"Yeah. The truth is that we have no interest in battling." Nami said. This was a strange thing to hear. Gym leaders that have no interest in battling. "You came here because you wanted a badge, right?" Nami went over and grabbed a badge she had ready. "Here's our gyms badge. This is the Bubble Badge." She said as the badge looked like three bubbles stuck together. "You can have it."

"Hold on. That's not right." Davis said as he didn't like this. "I would much rather battle for it."

"Davis is right. You can't just give a badge away." Cletus claimed. "A trainer and a gym leader are to battle each other. Otherwise, what's the point?"

"The point is that you get a badge and we don't need to battle. It's like the best of both worlds." Nami said.

"Toats. Just take the badge. It saves everyone the hassle." Navy said, but Davis wasn't sure if he even should.

"Hold it!" They all looked up to the stands and saw Tetsu standing up there. "They're right, Nami! You can't just give the badge away! I've told you that before!"

"Hey, little bro. When did you get home." Nami said.

"Little bro?!" Davis and the others said with them shocked to hear that. Tetsu jumped down and faced the two of them.

"I've told you that you can't just give the badges away. They have have to be earned." Tetsu said. "You can't just keep giving them away."

"Hold on. Tetsu, what is going on here?" Davis asked. "Is this... Is this where you're from?"

"Yeah..." Tetsu said as he turned to his friends. "Guys, these two are my older sisters. This is my family's gym."

"Your family runs a gym just like mine?!" Cletus questioned.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Davis questioned.

"It's because he has like a problem with us." Navy said.

"It can be like so annoying." Nami said.

"You two might not care about being gym leaders, but I do!" Tetsu said as he was irritated with his sisters and how they're running the gym. "I'm sorry, Davis. If you want that badge, you're going to have to battle me for it."

"Fine with me. I prefer it that way." Davis said as he was glad to hear he does get to battle for that badge. The two of them were ready to rumble, but they didn't get the chance. Imperialdramon's stomach rumbled right at that moment.

"Uh... Do you think we can eat first?" Imperialdramon asked. That caused Davis and Tetsu to practically fall over. They were ready to go and that just ruined the moment. Then again, you can't battle when you're hungry. Since they all wanted to eat, Davis and his friends went to the backroom and helped themselves to some lunch.

"Your sisters aren't going to join us?" Davis asked.

"No. They think they're supermodels and are watching their figures." Tetsu said as he felt like everything his sisters do annoy him.

"Well, you got to admit they do look good." Davis joked, but Tetsu just glared at him.

"At least it gives us a chance to talk. Tetsu, why didn't you tell us that this is where you're from, or that your family runs the gym?" Cletus asked.

"Is this why you didn't want to come here?" Imperialdramon asked.

"Yeah..." Tetsu said as he was finally coming clean. "It's not easy living in my sisters shadows. They're like superstars, at least around here they are. Those two love performing like that, but people really only know me as their little brother. That's because I'm not like either of them. I don't really like performing like they do. However, someone had to run the gym and I decided that would be me. My sisters aren't really interested in battling, as you saw. They don't really care that much for it, but they were made gym leaders because they're older than me. I couldn't stand it. This gym needed a real gym leader and I decided I would become that. So, I decided to leave home and go on my own little journey to help me become a great gym leader."

"I think I understand." Cletus said. "Your sisters might not care, but you clearly do."

"You could have still told us." Davis said.

"Maybe... My sisters are nice, and I understand their passionate about what they do." Tetsu said. "However, they're like valley girls or whatever. They care about style and looking good. The gym is a big responsibility and it can't just be ignored. It needs a proper gym leader."

"I agree, which is why I think you're doing a great thing." Cletus said.

"Same here. You want to be a gym leader and that's great." Davis said. "There's no reason you can't be." Tetsu was grateful that his friends were being supportive. He just hopes he is ready for being one.

"Oh no! This is a disaster!"

"What do we do?!"

"Was that Navy and Nami?" Imperialdramon said as it sounded like they were in trouble.

"They probably just broke a nail or something." Tetsu figured, but they both went to check it out. They hurried over to the pool and saw Tetsu's sisters and some of the other pokemon gathered around. They all saw a Goldeen that didn't look so well. "Hey! What's wrong with Goldeen?!"

"I don't know. All of a sudden, Goldeen just stopped moving!" Nami said.

"Oh my gosh! What if something is wrong with it?!" Navy said.

"Goldeen?" Davis said as he reached for his pokedex, hoping something there might be able to help.

"Goldeen, the Goldfish Pokemon. A water-type. Goldeen are known as the Water Dancers for the elegant way they swim in the water."

"There can't be anything wrong with Goldeen! Goldeen is needed for our water dances!" Navy cried.

"Are you serious?! That should be the least of your problems!" Tetsu said. He hurried and acted fast as he grabbed a towel and placed it on the floor. After that, he reached for Goldeen and pulled it out of the water with him resting Goldeen on the towel to get a good look at it. He placed his hand over Goldeen and could feel it was very warm. "Goldeen's got a fever."

"It's sick? Oh no!" Nami said as neither of the sisters were liking this.

"Calm down! It's not going to do Goldeen any good if we don't stay calm! Where's Goldeen's pokeball?" Tetsu said.

"Uh... I'm not really sure." Nami said.

"Well find it or find a phone to call Nurse Joy over!" Tetsu ordered and his two sisters got moving. "Cletus, there's a freezer in the backroom. Can you go grab some ice?"

"Sure." Cletus said as he hurried back there.

"Tetsu, you think Goldeen is going to be okay?" Davis asked.

"Of course it is. Just try to hang in there, Goldeen." Tetsu said as he was doing everything he could to make Goldeen comfortable. He was acting like how a gym leader should when their pokemon are sick.

...

Later

Tetsu did everything he could to make Goldeen comfortable. Soon, Nurse Joy came and took a look at things herself. She gave Goldeen some medicine and Goldeen looked like it was doing a lot better.

"Goldeen should be just fine." Nurse Joy claimed with everyone glad to hear that. "It looked like Goldeen pushed itself pretty hard and ended up getting exhausted."

"Gee... I wonder how that could have happened." Tetsu said as he glared right at his sisters.

"Just let Goldeen rest for a while and everything should be okay." Nurse Joy said as she gathered her stuff.

"Thanks a lot." Tetsu said as he showed Nurse Joy out. They were all glad Goldeen was going to be okay and they had Tetsu to thank.

"Well, I have to admit that I'm impressed, Tetsu." Nami admitted. "You really knew how to take charge and really helped Goldeen."

"For sure. That was like way cool." Navy said as they were both impressed with how Tetsu handled the situation.

"You should be proud, Tetsu. You acted like a real gym leader." Cletus said with Tetsu feeling flattered with all of this.

"Thanks, but you two really need to step it up." Tetsu told his sisters. "I get you don't want to do the gym battles, but these pokemon are our responsibilities. You got to be able to take care of them, especially when I'm not here and I'm trying to be the gym leader. As for the badge, don't just give them out. Until we have this whole gym leader thing figured out, don't just give them to trainers. They'll just have to go to another gym. Am I making it clear? You've got to do better."

"Okay. We will." Nami said to get her brother to take it easy with Navy agreeing with her.

"Sometimes, you two are a handful." Tetsu said as he thinks his sisters still have a long way to go. "Anyway, Davis, I don't think we have time for a battle. It's getting late, but we can at least have dinner and you guys can spend the night here."

"Sounds great." Davis said.

"In that case, I'll whip up something tasty, but also healthy so that you sisters can join us this time." Cletus said as it looked like the day was ending on a good note.

...

That Night

There might not have been time for a battle, but they all still hung out with Tetsu's family. They had dinner and were going to sleep. In the end, it ended up a pretty good day for Tetsu to return home.

"Hey, Davis." Tetsu spoke to while they were sleeping in his room. "You still want to have that gym battle?"

"Na... We can just go to another gym." Davis said with Tetsu surprised he's turning it down. "You left home because you wanted to be the gym leader that this gym needed. We'll come back when you think you're ready. When we do, we'll have a real gym battle." He said when he looked right at Tetsu's eyes. Tetsu was a little surprised by the offer, but he took it.

"You got it, Davis. We'll have a real gym battle the next time we come to Floriba City." Tetsu promised.

Davis might not have gotten the gym battle he was looking for, but he promises to get one in the future against his new friend. The day will come when Tetsu and Davis will have a real gym battle. Until then, stay tune to see more of the journey unfolds.
