"My second badge, right where it belongs." Davis said as he kept admiring his two badges. "Soon, I'll get my third one."
"Davis, watch where you're going!" Tetsu called. Davis heard him and stopped as he nearly walked into a railing that went over a cliff.
"That was close." Davis said.
"That's why you need to be more careful." Cletus said as his friends caught up with him.
"Yeah. Stop admiring your badges or you could end up in a hospital." Tetsu claimed.
Our heroes are continuing on with their journey. Davis managed to get his second badge and is looking forward to get his third one.
"Hold on." Tetsu said as he looked over the cliff and was excited about what he saw. "Check it out! It's the beach! That means we can have some beach fun!"

(Davis' voice) Sea Shellder by the Shore
"Beach!" Tetsu called as he already changed into a set of swim trunks and jumped in the water. Upon seeing the beach, Tetsu couldn't help himself as he dived straight in for it. "Awesome! Come on in! The water is great!"
"But we need to get to my next gym." Davis said as he didn't want to stop.
"It's going to take us some time for us to get to Nevad City." Cletus claimed. "There's really no rush, so we might as well take some time to enjoy ourselves."
"Yeah, and when was the last time we were on the beach, Davis." Imperialdramon said as he felt like relaxing himself. Since it seemed like Davis was outvoted, he just went with it. Not to mention that the beach is always a lot of fun.
"What the heck. Let's get the others to come out and enjoy ourselves." Davis said as he went with it. They all released their pokemon and they all had some fun themselves. Cletus and Tetsu changed into their own swim trunks and got themselves ready for it. "Water, here I come!"
"Let's go!" Cletus said as they both charged straight for the water, but Davis ended up tripping over something in the sand and fell into it. "Davis, are you okay?"
"I think so. What the heck did I step on?" Davis questioned as he took a look and saw he tripped over some giant shell. "What kind of shell is that?" He tried to get a better look at it.
"Shellder!" The shell showed it had eyes and a tongue with Davis getting a little spooked.
"It's alive!" Davis called.
"Calm down. It's just a Shellder." Cletsu said.
"A pokemon?" Davis questioned as he took out his pokedex to learn more about it.
"Shellder, the Bivalve Pokemon. A water-type. It's shell is just as hard as diamond, but what lies inside is rather tender."
"What a weird looking pokemon. Why is it holding its tongue out like that? Is that inside really tender?" Davis questioned. He moved his hand a little closer to it try and feel what Shellder is like, but Shellder clamped down on his hand. "Yeow! Get this thing off me!" He called as he flailed around and tried to get Shellder off.
"What's going on now?" Tetsu said as he hurried back to land.
"That Shellder clamped down on Davis' fingers." Cletus said.
"Davis, hold still!" Tetsu said as he tried to help.
"Hurry and get this thing off me!" Davis called.
"Tentacool, blast it with Poison Sting and knock Shellder off!" Tetsu ordered.
"Tentacool!" Tentacool shot out poisonous needles and blasted them against Shellder, but it wasn't doing much.
"Was that suppose to help?" Davis complained. He spun Shellder around to try and shake Shellder off. "Get off me!" He gave it one good throw and was able to get Shellder to fly right off, but Shellder ended up falling into Davis' stuff. "Oh man! You've got to be kidding me!"
"Shellder!" Shellder was able to make it's way out of Davis' stuff, but his goggles were caught on it.
"Hey! Those are mine!" Davis called as he hurried to get them back, but Shellder acted faster. Shellder used Ice Beam on the ground to the water and used it to slide away with Davis' goggles being taken with it. "Hey! Give those back!" He called, but Shellder ignored it and landed in the water.
"Tentacool, help out by using Constrict! Don't let Shellder escape!" Tetsu called. Tentacool moved quickly in the water and used Constrict on Shellder to keep it from escaping. However, Shellder fought back as it launched Ice Shard straight up and it landed right on Tentacool's head. That caused Tentacool to let go of Shellder and Shellder escaped with Davis' goggles being taken with it.
"Hey! Give me back my goggles!" Davis shouted, btu Shellder was long gone. "If you think you can leave with those, you got another thing coming!" Davis wasp plenty mad about this, but they had other problems. They looked and saw a woman riding on a vehicle that rode through the sand. She had flowing blonde hair and was dressed similar to a lifeguard.
"What are all of you doing here?" The woman asked.
"Is there a problem?" Cletus said.
"There is. This area is off limits. You're not really allowed to be here." The woman said.
"We're not! Oh man! We're really sorry." Tetsu said. "We didn't see a sign or anything."
"Forget that! I need to get my goggles back!" Davis called as he raced off to find that Shellder, but the woman used a rope and actually lassoed him to prevent him from running off.
"That will have to wait. You're getting your stuff and coming with me." The woman claimed.
"After I get back my goggles! Let me go!" Davis demanded, but she wasn't letting go. This could be a problem.
...
A Cabin
After apprehending Davis, she brought all of them back to her cabin and treated them to some snacks. Once they cleared up any confusion, she treated them with some hospitality.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Silvia. I'm in charge of watching over this area." She said as she acted like a good host and handed some snacks.
"We're really sorry, Silvia. We had no idea we were trespassing." Cletus said.
"It's fine seeing as how no harm was really done to the area or any of the pokemon that lived there." Silvia said. "Although, I don't approve of you attacking that Shellder."
"That Shellder clamped down on my hand!" Davis complained. "Not to mention it just took off with my goggles! I need to get them back!"
"Calm down. They're just a set of goggles. If you really want a set so badly, we can just go and get you a new set." Tetsu said.
"No way! Those can't be replaced!" Davis claimed.
"Those goggles were given to Davis by a close friend of his. They're irreplaceable to him." Imperialdramon explained.
"Silvia, you've got to tell me where I can find that Shellder! I need to get those goggles back!" Davis said.
"Davis, those goggles could be all the way at the bottom of the ocean or buried in the sand. Do you honestly think you can find them?" Silvia questioned.
"Where is Shellder?!" Davis shouted as he demanded to know where his goggles could be. They could all see there was no settling him down.
"Uh... Let's see... Shellder are usually found near the coast, a rock sticks out of the water near the cliffs. Sometimes they're seen around there." Silvia claimed. As soon as Davis heard that, he took off like a rocket.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Imperialdramon called as he hurried after him. They were all baffled at how Davis just acted.
"He really is a handful." Tetsu said.
"You can't blame him for being dedicated, passionate, and sentimental." Cletus said as he tried putting things nicely.
"I understand he just wants to get what's his back, but I hope he is careful and doesn't overdo it." Silvia said. When she said that, Cletus and Tetsu began to get a little nervous.

Davis
Davis hurried to where Silvia said Shellder are you usually seen around. He kept his eyes open for anything as he was going to get his goggles back one way or another. He soon spotted a rock sticking out of the water near the cliffs.
"That's it! This must be the spot! That Shellder should be around here somewhere." Davis said as he looked around for it.
"We don't even know if that Shellder came here." Imperialdramon said. "Davis, I know you want to get those goggles back, but they could be long gone for all we know. Shellder escaped into the water and those goggles could be long gone."
"Imperialdramon, you know what those goggles mean to me." Davis said. "Tai gave them to me, and you know how much I looked up to the guy."
"I know. It's just... How are we even going to..." Imperialdramon was trying to put holes in all of this, but he soon saw something that changed his mind. "Davis, look there!" He pointed just up ahead and Davis spotted it. Shellder was sitting right in the sand and had his goggles hanging off of it. "It's right there! Your goggles are still with it! Unbelievable!"
"And I'm getting it back!" Davis said as he ran over to Shellder. "Hey, Shellder!" He called and got Shellder's attention. "Give me back my goggles!" He demanded, but Shellder just blew a razzberry at him. "Why you little..."
"Someone here is a bit of a brat." Imperialdramon said.
"Shellder, I'm giving you just one last chance to give those back." Davis warned, but Shellder didn't seem interested. It just used Water Gun and blasted Davis right in the face with it. All it did was irritate Davis even more. "That's it! Imperialdramon, let's teach this bratty pokemon a lesson!"
"Don't you think you're overreacting just a bit?" Imperialdramon said as he didn't like this.
"Shellder Shell Shellder Shell."
"What did you just say to me?!" Imperialdramon said as whatever Shellder just said greatly offended Imperialdramon. "You just asked for it, you little brat!"
"That's more like it. Blast it with Dragon Pulse!" Davis ordered. Imperialdramon did just what he said as he unleashed the attack, but Shellder ducked inside its shell and endured the attack. Davis was surprised that Shellder endured that. "Yikes. That little guy is tougher than it looks."
"No, Davis. It just used Iron Defense to raise some defense power." Imperialdramon pointed. Shellder ended up fighting back as it jumped in the air and used Ice Beam. Imperialdramon moved quickly and avoided the Ice Beam. Shellder didn't stop there as he used Ice Shard and blasted Imperialdramon with it.
"Is that how it's going to be? In that case, try this on for size!" Davis said. "Imperialdramon, Brick Break!" Imperialdramon charged straight at Shellder and smashed his arm against it. The force of the attack launched Shellder up in the air. "Now use Focus Punch!" Imperialdramon stored power in his fist and smashed it right against Shellder. Not only did that knock the goggles off of Shellder, but Shellder was sent flying right into the cliff. "Sweet! My goggles!" Davis hurried over to them and grabbed them, made sure they were okay. "Lucky me. They weren't damaged."
"Ha! Let's see how the little brat feels after that." Imperialdramon taunted. However, there was a lot of power behind that attack that it caused a lot of damage to the cliffs. When the dust cleared, poor Shellder was stuck underneath a rock. Once they realized what they just did, Imperialdramon and Davis felt such guilt over what they just did.
"Oh man! We overdid it!" Davis said. Feeling awful on what just happened, the two of them hurried over. "Shellder, I'm so sorry! I was just so annoyed that I wasn't thinking. Are you okay?"
"Shellder Shell."
"Shellder's fine. It looks like that hard shell kept too much harm from happening." Imperialdramon said. "However, Shellder is stuck."
"I'll get you out of there." Davis said as he tried to move the rock, but it wouldn't budge. "This rock is heavy. Imperialdramon, maybe you can..." He was about to ask him to move the rock, but they heard something above them. They looked up and saw a large rock was knocked loose from the impact and it was about to fall. In fact, it just broke off and was going to crash on them. Seeing that, Imperialdramon moved quickly and flew up with him catching the rock.
"Davis... Hurry and get Shellder out of there! This thing is heavy!" Imperialdramon said as he was struggling to keep it up. Davis tried getting the rock to move, but nothing was happening. Davis wasn't strong enough to move it.
"It's no use. I can't... Wait!" Davis said as he got an idea. He reached for an empty pokeball and pulled it out. "This will work." He tapped the pokeball against Shellder and Shellder went inside. "I got Shellder! Move it!" He called as he got out of the way himself. Imperialdramon let the rock and dropped it with Davis clearing out of the way.
"Davis!" Davis looked and saw his friends and Silvia were able to catch up to him.
"What happened here?!" Silvia questioned.
"Uh... I might have overdid it." Davis said with guilt.
"Argh... This is why trainers aren't allowed here." Silvia said. "Many pokemon come around here, but trainers tend to attack and put them in danger. I'm sorry, but you must leave at once."
"Wait. Davis, you got your goggles back." Tetsu said as he noticed them. "What about Shellder? Where is it?" When he asked that, Davis realized that Shellder never came out of the pokeball he was holding in his hand. He opened it up and Shellder came right out.
"Shellder!"
"Whoa! I didn't think I would actually catch Shellder! I just used the pokeball to try and move it because it was trapped under a rock." Davis said. "I guess this means I officially caught Shellder."
"Shellder, we're really sorry about before." Imperialdramon said.
"Yeah. We got carried away." Davis said as he lifted Shellder up. "You're quite a cheeky pokemon. I'm just glad you're okay." Shellder was actually amazed with what Davis did. Even though he caused the problem, he did what he could to help. "Well, I'm guessing we're not really allowed to catch pokemon, so I guess I should just let Shellder go."
"I think so. It's too bad. Shellder looks like it likes you now with how it's looking at you." Imperialdramon said.
"It does..." Silvia said as she thought it over. "Normally, catching pokemon is prohibited around here. However, seeing as how Shellder did cause this whole problem by stealing your goggles, you did what you did to save it, and Shellder seems to like you now; I think I can make an exception just this once."
"You mean... Shellder can stay with me?" Davis questioned. "Shellder, do you want to stay?"
"Shellder!" Anyone could tell that Shellder really did want to and Davis loved hearing that.
"Yeah! Looks like I got myself a Shellder!" Davis cheered.
...
Later
"Try to be more careful from now on." Silvia said as she showed them all the road they needed to take. "You might have gotten lucky this time, but people won't be so linient as me. Davis, you also need to take good care of that Shellder."
"I will." Davis promised.
"Thanks again for getting us back on track, Silvia." Cletus said.
"So long." Tetsu said as they all hit the road once again.
"You all take care now!" Silvia said as she saw them off with Davis taking a new friend with him.
Today might have been one big incident, but it looks like it all worked out for the best. Davis has a new friend and pokemon in Shellder. With another pokemon tagging along for the journey, there's bound to be much more fun and excitement to come.
