Our heroes are continuing on with their journey. Right now, they're passing through a small town on their way to Nevad City for Davis' third gym battle.

"What a quaint town. It's so peaceful." Tetsu said as he looked around with him noticing the large pine tree in the center. "What's with the large tree in the center of town like that?"

"That large tree is symbolic. Many people gather around it for special holidays." Cletus claimed.

"You like Christmas? Sounds nice. Too bad it's not that time of the year yet." Davis said. "Well, let's rest at the Pokemon Center and then keep moving." That sounded like a good idea to them.

"But you can't just ignore today!"

"I said no and that's that! I'm done talking about this!" They both looked and saw a couple people arguing. So much for this being a peaceful town.

It's a big big world, but you know where to find me

We'll be together and we're gonna do it our way

We'll discover we believe in each other

On adventures with my friends like every day

And we're already on our way

The journey stars today

(Davis' voice) Gift From Us to You

Davis and his friends noticed there were a couple people arguing. One was a girl wearing a yellow blouse with a red skirt and socks that went up to her knees with her having a red bob cut. The other one was a man with him wearing a sky blue shirt and jeans with him having sandy brown messy hair.

"I'm done talking about this, Tabitha. I... I need a moment." The man said as he walked away and left the girl upset.

"Hey, are you okay?" Davis asked as he and the others came over. "We saw that man yelling at you."

"Yeah. That man was actually my dad, so it's all okay." Tabitha said.

"It sounded like something was really bothering him. Is there a problem?" Tetsu said. "Maybe we could help, or at least lend you an ear to talk to."

"That's nice, but you don't have to to do that." Tabitha said.

"We don't mind. Your name is Tabitha, right?" Cletus asked.

"Yeah. That's me." Tabitha confirmed.

"My name is Davis."

"I'm Imperialdramon."

"My name is Tetsu."

"And I'm Cletus."

"So, what got your old man so upset?" Davis asked.

"Funny you should put it like that." Tabitha said as she sat down on a bench with them all gathering around him. "You see, today is my father's birthday. I was trying to convince him we should do something today, but he has no interest in celebrating his birthday."

"He doesn't? How come?" Davis questioned.

"Well, it's because of this man." Tabitha said as she pulled out a photo of an old man that looked similar to her father. "This man here is my grandfather. Dad and Grandpa were really close, like they were the best of friends. The two them did everything together. Next to the day I was born and such, Dad was always so happy around him. However, those great times didn't last. Grandpa got sick a few years ago...and he passed away."

"That's awful!" Cletus said as they all felt bad for her.

"Ever since that day, some things my father enjoyed aren't so great anymore." Tabitha said. "Take his birthday for example. My father can't enjoy it because my grandpa isn't here to celebrate with him. I tried to convince my father we should still try and do something, but he isn't interested at all. If anything, all I did was make him mad."

"I see... I can understand why your father would be upset." Cletus said.

"Tell me about it. It must be hard to celebrate great moments when someone you love isn't around to celebrate with you." Tetsu said.

"Still, it is his birthday. There must be something that can be done to honor it." Imperialdramon said. That had Davis thinking and he might have an idea.

"Maybe there is!" Davis said. "What if we got your father something that makes him think of your grandfather? That way, even if he misses him, he can still remember all the great times they had and be happy!"

"Wow. Davis, that actually sounds like a great idea." Tetsu said as they all agreed that would be great.

"But what can we do that would have that kind of effect?" Cletus said.

"No worries. You guys can come with me to my house. We have tons of stuff from my grandpa that might be able to help." Tabitha said. "If we look around, I'm sure we can find something." All of them liked the sound of that. That was their goal today: find a great gift for Tabitha's father that makes him think of his own father.

...

Tabitha's House

Tabitha brought all of them back to her house. Once they got there, they all had a look around to see if they could find anything that could give them an idea for a great gift.

"There's tons of stuff here. I'm sure we be able to find something that Dad would love." Tabitha said as they looked around.

"Of course, it might help if we knew more about your grandfather." Tetsu pointed out. "What kind of man was your grandfather?"

"Well, he was always so happy and cheerful. He put me and Dad above all else. Not to mention that the three of us all had a great time together." Tabitha said. "I miss him myself, but I was able to pull through. I'm hoping doing this will also help my father."

"There must be something..." Davis said as he looked around. Then, he noticed one photo that was faced away from anyone else. Davis grabbed a hold of it and it looked like Tabitha's father and grandfather from before she was born and they were in a snowy field together. "Hey, Tabitha... What's the deal with this photo? It faced away from everything else."

"That photo was taken from when my father was a kid." Tabitha said as she took it. "The two of them loved snow. Every time it snowed, the two of them went out and played together. Some of their happiest memories from when it snowed."

"Snow... That sounds like it would be great. Too bad we can't make it snow." Davis said. It seemed like that would be perfect, but there's no way to get it.

"Cletus, you're smart. Isn't there a way we can make it snow?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"Don't be silly. How can we possibly do that?" Tetsu said.

"Wait. Maybe we can..." Cletus said as he thought it over with everyone listening in. "Not naturally of course. We might need to use our pokemon to help us."

"What? You mean there's an attack or something that can make it snow?" Davis questioned.

"I know some can make it hail, but not actual snow." Tabitha said.

"In theory, we could make it snow with the right combination of attacks." Cletus claimed as he thought this over. "Shellder's Ice Beam could help with that, but we need another attack to help. If only we had a pokemon that could use an attack like Rain Dance."

"Did you say Rain Dance?! I have a pokemon that can use that move." Tabitha said as she got a hold of her own pokeball and let it out.

"Bui!"

"Cool! It's a Buizel!" Tetsu said.

"Your Buizel can use Rain Dance?! That's just what we need!" Cletus said. "If we do this right, we might be able to make it snow."

"And I know just where we can do this." Tetsu said as he took the photo and saw something familiar. "This isn't any snowy field. Look in the background. That's the same tree we just saw." They all look and saw the same tree that was in the center of town. "If we do it in the same place as this photo, it would be a bigger impact."

"That all sounds perfect! Let's do it!" Tabitha said as she was looking forward to give her father the best gift he ever got. Some time later, Tabitha's father came walking in through the door.

"Tabitha, I'm home!" Her father called when he came in. "Tabitha? Are you home?" He looked around and saw there was no sign of anyone. "Tabitha? I'm sorry about earlier! Tabitha?" He looked around and saw no sign of her. When he looked to where that photo was, he saw a letter in it's place. Curious as to what it is, he grabbed a hold of it. "Come to the big pine tree."

...

The Tree

Davis and the others were getting themselves ready for this big gift. In order for this to work, Davis and the others went up to a rooftop to get it all ready.

"Here. We won't disturb anyone if we use it here." Cletus said.

"Are you sure this will work?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"It has to." Tetsu said as they're all hoping that it really does.

"Let's do this." Davis said as he pulled out a pokeball. "Shellder, come on out!" He said as he released Shellder.

"Shellder!"

"Shellder, we need you to combine Ice Beam with Buizel's Rain Dance. We need to try and make it snow." Davis said with Shellder understanding.

"I can help to make sure that beam reaches." Imperialdramon said as he grabbed Shellder and lifted it up in the air.

"Let's do this! Buizel, Rain Dance! Shellder, Ice Beam!" Davis ordered. Both pokemon did what he said. Buizel was surrounded by a blue aura and released the energy with it forming a cloud. When that happened, Shellder launched Ice Beam straight up into the clouds. They were hoping this works, but it wasn't looking good.

"Come on. Come on." Tetsu pleaded.

"This has to work." Cletus said. All of them were hoping it would. It wasn't looking good until something happened and Davis spotted a snowflake falling.

"Look! It's working!" Davis cheered as they couldn't believe it. Snow started to fall down and it was amazing. That means their plan was working, and just in time. Everyone was wondering why it was snowing at this time of the year. Tabitha's father showed up right at that time and he was wondering the same thing.

"What's going on? How could it be snowing?" Tabitha's father questioned.

"Surprise! Happy Birthday, Dad!" He looked and was met with Tabitha holding the photo.

"Tabitha? Do you know what's going on?" He questioned.

"Yeah. Some nice people I met helped with this." Tabitha said. "We were able to make it snow for your birthday."

"My birthday? Honey, you really didn't have to. I told you that we don't need to celebrate my birthday." Tabitha's father claimed.

"I know, but I know why you didn't want to. It's because Grandpa isn't here to celebrate with us." Tabitha said. She hit the nail on the head with that. She walked over and handed him the photo. "You told me you and he had your happiest memories when it was snowing. I know how much you miss him, so do I. However, Grandpa would want you to continue being happy, even if he can't be here with us. Just think about it. Doesn't all this snow make you think of him and all the great times you had together?" Tabitha's father was speechless for what his daughter has done. He looked up to the sky and he felt like his grandfather was looking down at him and was smiling.

"You're right." Tabitha's father said as it moved him to tears. All the memories he had with Tabitha's grandfather came flowing into his mind. As much as he misses him, it feels like he's right here with him and all the joy he felt was starting to come back. Seeing what his daughter did for him, he grabbed a hold of Tabitha and held her as tight as he could. "Thank you, Tabitha."

"Happy Birthday, Dad." Tabitha said as she loved seeing her father happy again. Davis and the others saw what happened and they loved it as well.

"This really does feel magical." Tetsu said.

"You can say that again. What a gift to give someone you love." Cletus said.

"I don't even like the cold, but I'm glad we did this." Davis said. They all looked up to the tree as they all loved for the snow. If you look closely, one snowflake passed the top of the tree and it almost looked like it shined like a twinkling star on top of a Christmas tree. The feeling of giving an amazing gift like this is something none of them will forget.

Helping out their new friend has allowed our heroes and others to feel such a joyful and wonderful spirit. This is what I call the real spirit of kindness and goodwill. Hopefully, joy like this will continue to spread on their journey as it continues on.
