"Come on, guys! Hurry!" Tetsu said as he was rather excited as he ran through the woods. "I can't believe I'm finally able to come back here!"

"Slow down, Tetsu!" Cletus called.

"Wait for us!" Davis called as they tried their best to keep up with him.

Something clearly has Tetsu excited. As our heroes continue on with their journey to Nevad City for Davis' next gym battle, Tetsu insisted they make a detour. There's something that Tetsu wanted to see and he's clearly excited to see it.

"There it is!" Tetsu called as he stopped once he saw what he was looking for with the others catching. All of them looked down from a hill and could see a camp near a large lake. "That's it! This is where I went to camp! Guys, welcome to Camp Kyogre!"

It's a big big world, but you know where to find me

We'll be together and we're gonna do it our way

We'll discover we believe in each other

On adventures with my friends like every day

And we're already on our way

The journey stars today

OHHHHHHH Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

OHHHHHHH Oh Oh Oh OH OH Oh

The journey starts today

OHHHHHHH Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

OHHHHHHH Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

The journey starts today

(Davis' voice)

Once they saw the camp, they all headed straight for the entrance of Camp Kyogre. The sign even resembled that legendary pokemon. Tetsu looked really happy to be at this place.

"I can't believe it's been so long since I've been here." Tetsu said.

"So this is the camp you were telling us about earlier." Cletus said.

"Yeah. You went here when you were a kid, right?" Imperialdramon said.

"Yeah. I had so much fun here." Tetsu said. "Of course, when I first got here, I was rather nervous and wasn't sure about staying." As Tetsu stood right in front of the sign, he remembered what things were like here when he was a kid.

...

Flashback

When Tetsu was a child, he was dropped off in front of the camp sign. He was rather nervous to go inside, and already began to feel a little homesick. He wasn't really sure if he wanted to go inside.

"Hey there, little scout." Tetsu looked and was met with a man in a scout-like uniform with it blue and hat over his grey hair with the camp logo right on it. "You must be Tetsu, the newcomer to our camp. My name is Douglas and I happen to be the camp owner."

"Uh... Hi..." Tetsu said.

"Nervous about being here? Feeling a little homesick?" Douglas asked as he dropped down to one knee. "That's perfectly fine. Once you get the feel for this camp, you'll love it. Trust me." He said as he held out his hand. Tetsu was rather scared, but he took it and followed him inside the camp.

...

"I almost considered leaving camp and going home, but I'm glad I didn't." Tetsu said as he and the others had a look around the place. "This place was a lot of fun."

"Sounds great. I wish we came here when there were campers." Davis said as he had a look around and saw no campers anywhere, only because it wasn't camping season yet.

"When there are campers, this place is a lot of fun." Tetsu said.

"Hold on. There's someone over there." Imperialdramon said as he pointed ahead and spotted someone working around the camp, making sure everything is ready for when the camp is open. Tetsu got a good look at him and saw it was Douglas.

"Douglas!" Tetsu called as he hurried over to him and got his attention.

"Can I help you?" Douglas asked.

"Douglas, don't you recognize me?" Tetsu asked. Douglas got a good look at him and was able to see who it was.

"Tetsu! Is that really you?!" Douglas said with Tetsu confirming it was. "Look at you, little scout! It's been too long since I last saw you, and now look how big you've gotten! What are you doing here when the camp isn't really open?"

"My friends and I were passing by. I just had to come see the camp again." Tetsu said as he introduced his friends.

"Hi. I'm Davis."

"My name is Imperialdramon."

"And I'm Cletus."

"Nice to meet all of you. My name is Douglas. I'm the owner of this fine camp."

"Are you getting ready to open the camp again?" Tetsu asked.

"Sort of... Well, I'm not sure if there is going to be another Camp Kyogre." Douglas said as he wasn't sure about continuing the camp.

"What are you talking about?" Tetsu questioned. "Do you not have enough applicants or something?"

"Uh... Well..." Douglas said as he was about to explain the situation.

"Cro!" They all saw something jump in the air with water swirling out of its tail. It came down and tried to smash down on all of them, but they all moved out of the way as it came down. When the dust cleared away, they all saw it was a Croconaw.

"It's a Croconaw!" Cletus called. When Tetsu realized what it was, he seemed rather shocked. As for Davis, he pulled out his pokedex to learn more about it.

"Croconaw, the Big Jaws Pokemon. A water-type and the evolve form of Totodile. When Croconaw bite down, they don't let go until it loses its fangs. New fangs grow in quickly."

"That's the problem I've been having!" Douglas said.

"You mean it's been causing trouble for you? Well, we'll see about that." Davis said. "Imperialdramon, get that biter!" Imperialdramon went and did just that. He went straight at Croconaw, but Croconaw jumped straight up in the air and avoided it. Then, Croconaw gathered power and smashed its fist right against Imperialdramon and knocked him down. "That pokemon packs a punch."

"Especially since it just used Superpower!" Cletus clarified. Croconaw looked ready to continue its attack, but Tetsu stepped in the way.

"Croconaw, wait!" Tetsu called to try and reason with it, but Croconaw took one look at him and got really angry. Croconaw jumped in the air and was going to use Crunch right on him. Tetsu didn't even try to move, but Imperialdramon intercepted the attack with Croconaw biting down on his arm.

"Get off!" Imperialdramon said as he used Focus Punch and knocked Croconaw right off.

"Stop! Don't hurt it!" Tetsu called.

"Don't hurt it?!" Imperialdramon questioned seeing as how he was the one that took damage. As for Croconaw, it just retreated.

"Wait!" Tetsu called, but Croconaw just kept running. "Could that really have been...?" Tetsu seems to know something about that Croconaw. After what happened, they all regrouped in Douglas' office and he explained what was going on.

"You see, that Croconaw has been coming around a lot." Douglas said. "When it does come around, it causes trouble. It's almost like it doesn't want the camp to be here. I don't know what could have happened. That Croconaw hasn't been around before, so I don't understand why it just showed up and attacked us."

"That is rather weird. Why did that Croconaw just attack? We were minding our own business." Davis said.

"Actually, I think I might know." Tetsu said as he seemed rather guilty about something.

"Tetsu? Do you know something?" Cletus asked as they all looked at him.

"Yeah... In order for you guys to understand, I need to tell you something that happened." Tetsu said. "As I told you before, I was rather nervous when I first got to camp. I didn't make any friends and I was too nervous to talk to the other campers. That all changed when I met a pokemon..."

...

Flashback

Tetsu was having a lousy time at camp and wasn't sure what he was going to do. He just sat on the dock on the lake and looked miserable. Suddenly, he heard something underneath the dock. He took a look underneath and saw a Totodile there.

"A Totodile?" Tetsu said and he looked miserable. "Are you okay?"

"Toto..." Totodile didn't look happy at all, but Tetsu could hear it's stomach growling.

"Oh! You're hungry!" Tetsu said. "Come on!" He said as he held out his hand. "I can take you to get some food." Totodile liked the sound of that and swam over to Tetsu.

"It took Totodile in and gave it some food. It was feeling like I made a real friend at camp." Tetsu took Totodile back to his cabin and fed it. The two of them seemed really happy with each other. Even when Totodile noticed Tetsu wasn't so happy, it made a funny face and got him to laugh. The two of them got so close so quickly.

"Well, I suppose you should get going." Tetsu said as he took Totodile back out. Since it wasn't his pokemon, he couldn't have kept it. Tetsu walked away, but Totodile didn't want to let it end and followed after Tetsu. Tetsu didn't want to leave Totodile either.

"I took Totodile in and let it stayed. Having a pokemon around also allowed me to make friends with the other campers. Douglas allowed it only because Totodile was a wild pokemon and it was choosing to be here, and he saw how happy I was because of Totodile. Then, the last day of camp was coming..."

"I'll see you tomorrow." Tetsu said as he let Totodile go for the night. "Let's meet at the dock before I leave for camp."

"Toto!" Totodile liked the and took off into the woods.

"I wanted to take Totodile home with me and have it become my partner when I was old enough to be a trainer, but it didn't go so well. We ended up leaving earlier than I thought and I couldn't meet up with Totodile." Tetsu was surprised on how early they had to leave. Tetsu was already boarding the bus and it drove off without Totodile. Tetsu looked out a window and saw Totodile waiting for him on the dock, but there was nothing Tetsu could do except leave Totodile there.

End of Flashback

...

"I never saw Totodile again after that." Tetsu finished.

"So you wanted Totodile to be your first pokemon." Cletus said. "What about Kingler and Tentacool?"

"Kingler and Tentacool are great, but they already belonged to the gym. Totodile would have been my very own pokemon." Tetsu explained. "When I left on my own journey, I had to take a couple pokemon with me, so I took them. That's another reason I went out on this journey. I hoped I would see Totodile again. Now, I'm sure of it. That Croconaw is the same Totodile I met before."

"It's the same one?" Davis questioned.

"It makes sense. Croconaw is the evolve form of Totodile, and it did seem rather angry when it saw Tetsu." Cletus said.

"Crocona feels like Tetsu abandoned it when they were such great friends." Imperialdramon said.

"I did notice you weren't so happy when you left camp." Douglas said. "I figured it might have been because of Totodile. So, I went looking for it, but I never found it. I had no idea that Croconaw was the same Totodile. Either way, Croconaw is causing some problems around here. I'm trying to fix the camp, but Croconaw is making it difficult. Probably because those memories are painful. If something isn't done soon, I might have to close my camp."

"You can't do that. Tetsu loved this place, and many other kids could." Davis said.

"But something must be done about Croconaw." Cletus said.

"I know, and I will be the one to do it." Tetsu said as he stepped forward. "It's time I fixed the mess I made a long time ago."

"If you're really going after Croconaw, you'll find it at the lake by the docks." Douglas said.

"That's where we met... Makes sense." Tetsu said as that can also be the place for Tetsu to settle this.

...

The Dock

Tetsu and the others hurried over to the dock to find Croconaw. When he got there, he spotted Croconaw standing right on the end of the dock.

"Croconaw!" Tetsu called. Croconaw turned around and spotted Tetsu. When Croconaw saw him, Croconaw got very angry. "You remember me, don't you? I also know that you're the same Totodile I met."

"Croco..."

"Careful, Tetsu. Croconaw is on the edge. One wrong move could be a problem." Imperialdramon warned.

"I don't care." Tetsu claimed. "It's my fault this is happening. Croconaw, I'm sorry I left you behind. I had to leave earlier than I thought. The reason I wanted us to meet here was because I wanted to ask you to come home with me. I wanted you to become my partner, my first pokemon. I still want that. I might have a couple pokemon with me now, but they already belonged to the gym I came from. Croconaw, let's start all over again."

"Croconaw!" Croconaw jumped in the air and was going to use Crunch on Tetsu again. Tetsu didn't want to do this, but it seems like he doesn't have a choice.

"I'm sorry. Tentacool, Constrict!" Tetsu called as he released a pokemon.

"Tentacool!" Tentacool emerged and wrapped itself around Croconaw's mouth and both of them fell into the water.

"Croconaw, I don't want to battle you, but I can't let you wreck the camp! The very same camp where we met!" Tetsu said. "If I have to battle you to get through to you, I will!" Croconaw seemed up for a battle as it was able to shake Tentacool right off. "Tentacool, Poison Sting!"

"Tentacool!" Tentacool unleashed a series of poisonous needles. Croconaw was brave enough to charged right through those needles as it used Superpower with it pounding its fist against Tentacool.

"Try your Bubble Beam!" Tetsu called. Tentacool launched a blast of bubbles, but Croconaw swam around and avoided the attack. Croconaw came at Tentacool with it using Aqua Tail. "Dodge it! Hurry!" Tentacool moved around and tried to avoid Croconaw's tail. "Poison Sting again!" Tentacool fired a series of needles against with Croconaw getting blasted by them again. Soon, Croconaw and Tentacool emerged out of the water and was going to keep this battle going. "Croconaw, let's fix this. I didn't mean to leave you behind."

"Croconaw." Croconaw didn't seem to believe him and was going to keep battling. However, Croconaw wasn't looking so well and was just floating in the water.

"What's with Croconaw?" Davis questioned.

"That Poison Sting must have poisoned Croconaw!" Cletus said.

"Poison! Croconaw!" Tetsu called as he dived right in the water and hurried to help Croconaw. Once Tetsu grabbed a hold of Croconaw, he took him back to land and tried to treat the poison. With a little help from Cletus, Tetsu got a formula and fed Croconaw it. In almost no time, Croconaw was feeling better. "There. Sorry about that. I didn't mean to poison you."

"Croconaw..." Croconaw was a little surprised that Tetsu helped him like that. It allowed him to calm down enough to allow Tetsu to talk.

"Croconaw, I meant what I said." Tetsu said. "I wanted you to come with me and become my partner... I still want that. You want that too, I know it. Why else would you still be here? Why else would you cause all of this? You wanted me to come back." It looks like Tetsu knew Croconaw better than Croconaw knew itself. A sign of a great partners. He reached for a pokeball and held it out. "Let me fix my mistake, Croconaw. We couldn't be together then, but we can now. It's not too late for us."

"Croc..." All of them were hoping that Croconaw would say yes, and it seems like it does. Tetsu was right. A part of Croconaw still longed to be with Tetsu, all the great times they had together would continue. That's why Croconaw bumped its fist with Tetsu's pokeball and went inside with Croconaw officially belonging to Tetsu.

"It's done... I finally got Croconaw!" Tetsu cheered.

"You finally got your pokemon." Davis said as they were all happy for him.

"I always knew you were a great kid. Camp can be a place to make tons of fun great memories and friends, and that's exactly what you did." Douglas said as he was glad to see his old camper was doing well.

"Thanks... Croconaw, nothing is going to keep us apart." Tetsu promised.

After being apart for so long, two old friends are finally together again. Tetsu now feels like a real trainer as he managed to get his own pokemon, the one he wanted to be partners with for so long. Now that Croconaw is joining the family on the journey, many great times are ahead for Tetsu and Croconaw.
