Our heroes have arrived in Nevad City. This is where Davis plans to win his third badge.
"We're finally here!" Davis said as they all stood at the entrance.
"This is going to be great. Nevad City is known to be quite the tourist attraction." Cletus said.
"Well, there's only one thing I want to check out and that's the gym." Davis said as he was ready to go. He's going for that third badge and he's not waiting around for anything.
It's a big big world, but you know where to find me
We'll be together and we're gonna do it our way
We'll discover we believe in each other
On adventures with my friends like every day
And we're already on our way
The journey stars today
OHHHHHHH Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
OHHHHHHH Oh Oh Oh OH OH Oh
The journey starts today

(Davis' voice) Charge the Gym
"Nevad city is quite the tourist attraction. It holds lots of games, great restaurants, and more. A lot of people come here for fun." Cletus said as they walked through the city. "At night, tons of lights come on and it all looks like spectacular."
"That all sounds great." Tetsu said. "I want to check out the games and restaurants. Maybe we should check some of them out. In fact, let's check it out right now."
"Hold on!" Davis said as he turned to them. "Did you guys forget that we came here for my gym battle, not fun and games. We check it all out AFTER the gym battle."
"Yeah. Gym battle first." Imperialdramon said.
"I don't remember asking for your permission." Tetsu said as he was already getting annoyed. "If I want to check out the games and restaurants before your gym, I don't understand why your gym battle can't wait."
"My gym battle is the whole reason we even came here!" Davis argued. "Why should that wait?"
"Why can't it? The gym isn't going anywhere." Tetsu said.
"Neither is any of that tourist stuff! Why can't any of that wait?!" Davis said.
"Okay, settle down." Cletus said as he tried to break the argument. "The gym battle is the whole reason we're here, so we might as well check it out."
"Ha!" Davis laughed as he felt like he won.
"The sooner we do the gym battle, the sooner he'll be more obliged to try everything else Nevad City has to offer." Cletus whispered to Tetsu. "Let him think we're on his side and things will go a lot smoother." Tetsu saw what Cletus was doing and figured that was a good point.
...
The Gym
All of them were able to find the gym and stood out in front of it.
"Here we are! Time to get my third badge!" Davis said as he was confident in winning. "Hello! I'm here to challenge the gym!" He called. Just then, they heard screaming. Coming from the side of the building, they saw a girl running around and she was actually on fire.
"Hot! Hot! Hot!" She shouted as she three her jacket off and stomped down on it to try and put the flames out. They all took a good look at her now. She had blonde hair tied into a tail. She wore small black shirt with a bolt of lightning over it with jeans and sandals. "Oh man. That could have gone a lot better."
"Hey! Are you okay?!" Davis asked with her noticing them.
"Yeah. I'm okay." The girl said. "I didn't get burned or anything."
"What happened?" Tetsu asked.
"I was doing some training with my buddies and used myself as the training dummy. That's how I caught on fire." The girl said as she bopped her own head. "Silly, right?"
"It didn't sound smart. Who are you anyway?" Tetsu questioned.
"My name is Feefee. This happens to be my family's gym, and I'm the gym leader!" She declared.
"You're the gym leader?!" Davis said.
"That's right. I was keeping myself and my little buddies in great shape!" Feefee said as her pokemon came out of hiding.
"Be!"
"Electrike!"
"Luxio!"
"Wow! An Elekid, an Electrike, and a Luxio!" Cletus said. "That must mean this gym's specialty is with electric-types!"
"That's right. These three are my precious sparks." Feefee said as she petted her three pokemon, clearly loving them and they all seem to love her.
"Well, I'm Davis. I came here so I could challenge your gym!"
"A challenger?! Oh yeah!" Feefee cheered. "I love it when I get to battle! We can start right now!" Both of them were ready to go, but they didn't get the chance when they heard some sort of alarm going off.
"Is that a smoke detector?" Tetsu questioned.
"Oh man! My lunch!" Feefee shouted as she ran inside. This didn't look good, so they all followed after her. When they got there, they saw her pulling out a burnt pizza from the oven. "Oh man. I was doing some training to give this some time to heat up, but I guess I lost track of time."
"I'll say." Cletus said as they all couldn't believe she made a mistake like that. "Not only did you ruin your lunch, but you had a chance of burning your house down." Feefee already felt bad and her stomach growling made her feel worse. They all felt really bad for her. "You know, I'm a great cook myself. How about I make something? We should probably eat ourselves."
"Really?! That sounds great!" Feefee said.
"While we're at it..." Tetsu said as he turned and saw the house was a mess. "This house needs a cleaning. How can you live like this?"
"Oh... I guess I did let things get a little out of hand." Feefee said with some embarrassment.
"This girl is a scatterbrain." Tetsu said with annoyance. "Well, while we're waiting for Cletus to make us some lunch, we might as well clean this place up."
"But what about my gym battle?" Davis said as he was getting disappointed he's not getting it.
"It can wait like I said earlier. Sheesh, you're impatient." Tetsu said with Davis and Imperialdramon disappointed that they aren't going to battle. While Cletus was working on lunch, the rest of them helped Feefee out by cleaning the house. It went by a lot faster with the whole team pitching in. It was all cleaned in almost no time with Cletus finishing his cooking.
"Thanks for the help. You didn't have to help me like that." Feefee said.
"It beats sitting around." Davis said.
"Here we go." Cletus said as he served some grilled sandwiches. "Everyone eat up. You're going to need your strength if you intend to battle."
"Thanks for the food!" Everyone said as they helped themselves to the food.
"I also served something for the pokemon." Cletus said as he handed some food to Feefee's pokemon with all of them enjoying it.
"The food is great, but I'm hoping we can have a gym battle soon." Davis said.
"No worries. You'll get one from me." Feefee claimed, but Electrike was saying something that sounded like he didn't approve.
"Don't lie? That's what Electrike just said." Imperialdramon said. All of them looked at Feefee with suspicion and she felt like she was in trouble.
"Okay... Confession time." Feefee said. "I'm not officially the gym leader here." All of them were shocked to hear her say that. "The truth is that my grandfather is the gym leader, but he wants to pass it on to me. My grandfather isn't here now, so he placed me in charge of the gym."
"And you're doing a fine job of that." Tetsu said with sarcasm. "Let me ask, do you even have any gym badges ready?" When he asked that, Feefee panicked.
"Oh man! the badges!" Feefee called as she tore the place apart again. "Where'd I put them?! They have to be around here somewhere!" She looked around for where she put the badges, but she was alerted by Electrike and showed it had a metal box. Feefee opened it up and saw what she was looking for. "Found them! These are the Lightning Badges." She showed the badge looking like an N with a lightning-design.
"Cool!" Davis said as he admired the badge he would soon have.
"Thanks, Electrike." Feefee said as she petted Electrike. "I don't know what I do without you."
"You and Electrike seem rather close." Cletus claimed.
"You bet we are. Electrike and I have been together for a long time. Electrike was actually a gift from my grandpa." Feefee claimed. "That's why I want to try and do well when I do become gym leader."
"Not knowing where the badges are aren't a good start." Tetsu claimed with Feefee feeling ashamed. She wants to prove she's a good gym leader, but that won't be easy. Just then, they heard something outside and felt the ground shake.
"What's that?!" Davis questioned.
"It sounds like it's coming from the battlefield!" Feefee said. All of them ran outside to have a look as to what was going on. When they got there, they saw a large pokemon called Coalossal attacking the place.
"What pokemon is that?!" Davis questioned as he took out his pokedex.
"Coalossal, the Coal Pokemon. A rock and fire type, and the evolve form of Carkol. Coalossal are usually gentle, but become fearsome when angered, causing smoldering rocks to he shaken from its back."
"It must be plenty angry with it going on a rampage." Davis said. Coalossal was trashing the place and there didn't seem to be a clear reason for it.
"Hey, you! You're trashing my grandpa's battlefield and I'm not having any of that!" Feefee said. "Electrike, let's teach this pokemon a lesson it won't forget!" Electrike ran out and was ready for a battle.
"We'll help out, Feefee." Tetsu said as he took out a pokeball and was ready to battle.
"No." Feefee declined. "This is my family's gym, and I am going to be gym leader one day. This is a problem I have to solve. Electrike, let's take care of this problem! Give it a good taste of your Discharge!" Electrike unleashed a good amount of electricity, but Coalossal was able to shake it all off.
"Feefee, Coalossal is part rock-type! Electric-attacks won't be so effective against it!" Cletus called.
"Oh man! I forgot!" Feefee complained. Coalossal took its turn to attack with it smashing its arm against Electrike and Electrike got hit hard. "No! Electrike!" Electrike tried getting back up, but that one attack caused some real damage. "Oh man. What am I going to do if Electrike's electric attacks aren't going to work?" She questioned as she wasn't sure what to do. All she could do was watch as Coalossal tried attacking again with Electrike trying to stay out of Coalossal's reach.
"This isn't good." Tetsu said. "She's very energetic, but when things don't go the way she likes, she panics and isn't sure what to do. She's too excited about battling to think clearly."
"Feefee, calm down!" Davis called. "If you're a gym leader, you've got to stay calm!"
"Stay calm?" Feefee questioned. She tried to think it over on what to do. She took a look at Eelectrike and she knew she had to get her act together or else Eelectrike would pay for her mistakes. "There has to be a way to... Wait! There is one trick Grandpa taught us. Electrike, Rain Dance!" Electrike did what she said and unleashed power up to the sky that formed a cloud and was causing it to rain.
"Rain Dance? Why a move like that?" Imperialdramon questioned.
"Rain... Water!" Cletus said as he figured it out.
"Now use Discharge!" Feefee said. Electrike used the attack again and it blasted Coalossal. It looked like it was having a stronger effect than before with Coalossal dropping down. "Got it!"
"What just happened?" Davis questioned.
"It's obvious. Water conducts electricity, so using Rain Dance added some power to electric attacks." Cletus said.
"And since Coalossal is a fire-type and a rock-type, water weakened it." Tetsu said. Feefee handled that really well. When the rain cleared away, they treated Coalossal and it seemed to have settled down.
"Glad that's done, but what was that about?" Feefee questioned.
"What's the deal? Why did you attack like that?" Imperialdramon questioned and got Coalossal talking. "You were told to? By who?"
"By me." All of them looked and saw an old man with curly grey hair wearing small black glasses and wearing a simple blue shirt with beige shorts came out of hiding.
"Grandpa?!" Feefee said.
"Grandpa? You mean this is the same grandpa that really runs this gym?" Davis questioned.
"I told Coalossal to do this and it looks like it all went well." Feefee's grandfather claimed. "Thank you, Coalossal. Return and get some rest." He said as he brought Coalossal back in a pokeball.
"Grandpa, why did you do this?" Feefee said.
"To test you." Her grandfather claimed. "You see, I needed to see if you were truly ready for the responsibilities that came with being gym leader. That's why I left, but I've been watching over you the whole time."
"You were watching?" Feefee questioned as she was nervous at what he was going to say.
"That's right." Her grandfather said. "At first, you were completely disorganized, scatterbrained, and easily distracted." None of that was good for Feefee. "However, you just handled the situation well against a pokemon that had the advantage over you. You used a good combo and in good time. Feefee, I do worry about you, but I do see that you put a lot of effort in what you do. For what you just did, I think you might be ready to be the new gym leader of the Nevad Gym."
"Thanks, Grandpa!" Feefee said as she felt so happy. "Electrike, thanks for the help!" She said as she bent down and petted Electrike. Electrike was feeling good itself. So good that it began to glow with everyone knowing what this was. Electrike grew bigger and was changing forms.
"Manectric!"
"Feefee! Electrike is now a Manectric!" Cletus claimed with everyone amazed by this. Davis pulled out his pokedex to learn more.
"Manectric, the Discharge Pokemon. An electric-type, and the evolve form of Electrike. It uses electricity to stimulate muscles to move faster and also uses it to recover from soreness."
"Awesome! You just evolved!" Feefee cheered as she hugged Manectric. "Not only am I the new gym leader, but I have a new Manectric!"
"And it's going to be better. I'll be your opponent for your first gym battle." Davis offered.
"Great. Of course, I'm not going to let you win. I hope you're ready to get beaten." Feefee said.
"That's not happening." Davis said as he was confident he'll win.
After meeting an interesting trainer in Feefee, Davis is going to have his third gym battle soon. Both of them are ready to go. What kind of battle can we expect from these two? Stay tuned to find out.
