"We're here!" Davis cheered as they were back in Floriba City.

The time has finally come. Davis and Cletus are back in Floriba City. With his gym battle against his good friend Tetsu coming, Davis is really excited for this one.

Since Davis and Cletus have returned in Floriba City, their first stop is the gym. All of them made it to the gym and Tetsu was right out at the front door waiting for them.

"Hey, guys!" Tetsu greeted.

"Tetsu!" Cletus said.

"The gang is back together." Imperialdramon claimed.

"And it's time for us to have our gym battle, Tetsu." Davis said as he was ready to go. This might be one of his favorite battles.

(Davis' voice) Good Cop, Dark Cop

"Let's go, Tetsu. Time to have our battle." Davis said as he was pumped.

"Not quite yet, Davis." Tetsu said to get Davis to settle. "I've been training my pokemon hard for this battle. Now that you're here, I want them to have some rest so they'll be at full strength."

"Makes sense." Davis said as he was fine with that reason.

"Speaking of which, what about your pokemon? How are they all doing?" Tetsu said.

"We'll show you." Cletus said as they both got a little excited for this. They took out all of their pokeballs and let them all out to introduce the newest members of the team.

"So, in the time that I've been apart from you guys, Shellder and Venonat have evolved and Cletus caught a Grimer." Tetsu said as he was impressed. "I can see a lot has happened since I've been gone." All of them were glad to to be together again, and they all can't wait to see how Tetsu's pokemon are doing. "Well, since we're not going to battle, how about we all get something to eat." That sounded good to all of them.

...

Downtown

All of them hit a restaurant for lunch. It's been a long time since all of them have been together again and were able to eat together. That's why they were all enjoying it.

"So, how are you sisters?" Cletus asked.

"They're fine, same as usual." Tetsu said. "Honestly, they're a handful. They won't leave poor Feraligatr alone, keep trying to get Feraligatr to be part of their shows."

"Well, they'll have to sit at your own show when we battle." Davis said. Suddenly, they all heard an alarm go off from across the street.

"Robbers!" Imperialdramon called as they could all see a group of three robbing a bank and trying to make a run for it with bags of cash. Davis and the others ran out to see what would happen, but that was when something did happen. Someone stepped in the way of those three crooks and they got scared.

"Not you again." Standing in the way was a man dressed in all black with black messy hair and standing with him was a Mightyena.

"Here we go again." The guy complained like this was a drag. "Go, Mightyena..."

"Migh!" Mightyena jumped at one of the crooks and tackled him down.

"Whoa! That Mightyena is fierce!" Tetsu said as they were all impressed with what they just saw. Mightyena didn't hold anything back.

"Mightyena is the evolve form of Poochyena..." Davis said as this gave him an idea. That's why he released Poochyena.

"Arff!"

"Poochyena, I want you to watch what's happening closely. Watch that Mightyena." Davis said with Poochyena's eyes all on the action. One crook was down and the other two tried making a run for it, but the guy wasn't going to let that happen. He took two baseballs and threw them right at both crooks perfectly and caused them to trip. One tried running for it again, but he took a third baseball and it hit the guy right in the head. They still wouldn't give up as the third tried running again.

"Mightyena, Scary Face." The man said. Mightyena ran out and got ahead of the crook. Then, it used the attack and gave the guy a good scare. "Three strikes and you're out, unless you want to go for four."

"You already used three baseballs. You don't have anymore." The crook said.

"You want to take that chance? The next one will hit you harder than the other three." The man said as he glared down right at him with Mightyena ready to attack. The crook didn't have the will to go on and just gave up. Everyone cheered for his heroic actions and catching them.

"Awesome!" Davis said. "Poochyena, wasn't that Mightyena cool?!" Poochyena seemed speechless from seeing that.

"I wonder who he is." Cletus said. That was right when Officer Jenny showed up.

"Jethro! Again?!" Officer Jenny complained. "I have told you many times before that you cannot behave in this sort of activity. Do I have to bring you in once again? You already got your badge revoked and kicked off the force."

"I think you mean "thanks" for doing your work. Let's go, Mightyena." Jethro said as he and Mightyena got walking with Officer Jenny left with arresting them, but she didn't seem pleased at all.

"That's weird. He caught those robbers, but Officer Jenny is acting like he's the bad guy." Tetsu said.

"From what she said, it sounds like this guy was a cop that got kicked out. I wonder what happened." Cletus said. Just then, Imperialdramon noticed someone going after them.

"Poochyena!" Imperialdramon called as they saw Poochyena following after those two.

"Poochyena! Wait!" Davis called as they hurried after Poochyena. This Jethro and Mightyena were just walking along the street, but Poochyena caught up to them and was trying to talk to Mightyena.

"Is there a problem, little one?" Jethro asked as the two stopped.

"Sorry!" Davis called as they caught up to them. "That's my Poochyena!" He said as he grabbed a hold of it. "I had my Poochyena check out your Mightyena and it looks like Poochyena liked what it saw. See, Poochyena? This is what you're going to evolve into." He said with Poochyena liking this and Mightyena didn't mind.

"Uh... If you don't mind us asking, what was Officer Jenny talking about back there?" Tetsu asked.

"I actually do mind." Jethro said as he didn't want to talk about it. However, he looked down and saw Mightyena was taking a liking to Poochyena. "If we're going to talk, I'm going to need coffee." He said as he got moving and they figured he wanted them to follow. They did, but none of them noticed that someone was watching them from a car. That man's phone went off and he was a little nervous about it.

"Yes, boss?"

"Where's my money? You should be hitting the road now."

"It was him again." His boss sounded furious over the phone.

"That's it. I've had it with that deadbeat cop getting in the way of a good score. I think it's time he learns what it's like when things don't go his way, and his precious Mightyena is going to help with that."

The Park

Jethro got himself some coffee while the others helped themselves with some donuts. While they were all talking in the park, Mightyena was playing around with Poochyena.

"So, you want to know what Officer Jenny's deal is with me." Jethro said, but they were a bit nervous around the guy since it seemed like he didn't want to do this. "Let's make one thing clear. The only reason I'm telling you is because my Mightyena seems to have taken a liking to your Poochyena. If not for that, I wouldn't be talking to you. Yes, I was a cop. Jenny and I worked in the same department, but that was a long time ago."

"What happened?" Davis questioned.

"I got discharged and ended up getting my badge revoked." Jethro claimed.

"How did that happen? You obviously still have what it takes." Davis said. "What? Baseballs aren't exactly regulation." He joked, but Jethro gave him a look that scared him into stopping.

"I've caught many bad guys, but my superiors and such had problems with how I did things." Jethro said. "I broke some rules, went against regulation, and did things my way. They say my biggest problem is unable to follow orders and rules I don't really agree with."

"They punished you for trying to bring in the bad guys?" Davis questioned as that sounded whacked to him.

"I'm not a cop, but rules are rules and police are suppose to enforce them." Tetsu said.

"I'm not apologizing for anything I did." Jethro claimed. "If we worried about stuff like that, it gives the criminals an opportunity to escape. I make sure I catch them. Other police officers worry too much about rules and such, act like they're robots doing what they're told and not thinking for themselves. Eventually, they all had enough of how I do things and said I had to be let go."

"But you're still doing stuff like this? That's called vigilantism, and the police look down on that stuff." Cletus said.

"Don't care. Doing what's right is sometimes is what you believe is right, not what you're told." Jethro said. Those are some words to think about. It seems like this is a good guy, but they aren't sure what to think considering people are taught to obey the law.

"What about Mightyena? How does Mightyena fit into this?" Tetsu asked.

"We're allowed to have a pokemon to help us, obviously." Jethro said. "Mightyena and I have been together for a long time." It sounds like the two of them were really close. Although, someone intends to use that to their benefit. As Poochyena and Mightyena continued to play around, someone was coming for them. Right when the two pokemon went near some bushes, someone grabbed a hold of them. As the two of them called out, their trainers knew it was trouble.

"Poochyena/Mightyena?!" Davis and Jethro called. They looked and some thugs had a hold of both pokemon. This didn't look good at all. Just then, a man in a grey suit stepped forward with short black hair.

"Hello, Jethro."

"DiNurro... Of course." Jethro said as he wasn't amused or threatened. "You kids might want to keep back." He said as he stepped forward.

"You've been getting in my way a lot lately." DiNurro claimed. "You're a washed up cop, but you keep causing me some serious problems. Can't you be a good fired cop and just call it all a quits?"

"Who is he?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"Hey! That happens to be my Poochyena you creeps are holding!" Davis called.

"His name is DiNurro. He's a crime boss." Jethro said. "I should have known those three from before were you're doing."

"And you would have if you weren't a fired cop." DiNurro mocked. "Hey, you three. Run along unless you want to get hurt. This has nothing to do with any of you."

"Fat chance! That's my Poochyena you guys a holding!" Davis said as he wasn't going to let them just hold Poochyena. He was ready to jump in and do something, but Jethro kept him back from doing anything.

"Relax. Nothing is going to happen to your Poochyena, just as long as Jethro behaves himself, and he will." DiNurro said. "You see, you act tough and act like you don't care about somethings, but I have the one thing you do care about." He referred to Mightyena with them threating to hurt Mightyena if Jethro does something they don't like.

"Just skip to it. What do you want?" Jethro questioned.

"Simple. It's time for you to pay up for all the trouble you caused me and my men." DiNurro claimed. "I'm betting Officer Jenny will be thankful that a troublesome ex-cop will be out of the picture."

"You creeps." Davis said.

"Easy, Davis. Don't do anything that could provoke them while they're holding Poochyena and Mightyena." Tetsu said. 'Just what is this guy going to do? I'm not even sure he can be trusted.'

"I'm not playing your games." Jethro denied. "You're just a criminal that's upset he got caught. Don't get upset with me just because you're stupid enough to break the law."

"What did you say? You better show some respect." DiNurro said as he had his men ready to hurt both pokemon. "Just do the right thing for once and do what I say so these precious pokemon won't get hurt. One is your precious Mightyena. Is that you really just don't care?" He taunted, but that wasn't it. Jethro looked towards Mightyena as they both had a strong connection. They trusted each other, looked out for each other, and stuck by each other's side. Mightyena does mean a lot to Jethro and he certainly wouldn't risk their safety. "Now, get on your knees and start begging for forgiveness."

"No!" Jethro said as he moved fast and threw two of his baseballs. It hit the two holding the pokemon and allowed them to run for it.

"Hey! Get back here!" DiNurro said, but Jethro threw his third baseball and hit DiNurro so the two could escape.

"Poochyena!" Davis said as Poochyena ran into his arms and he was glad his pokemon was safe. As was Jethro as he petted Mightyena's head.

"Wow! He's got quite an arm on him!" Imperialdramon said as he was impressed with all those pitches.

"Why you... Now you've made me mad!" DiNurro called.

"I've had enough of this nonsense." Jethro said. "Just give up or the next strike will really take all of you out."

"Nice try, but you already used three baseballs and you only use three." DiNurro claimed. "That's nothing more than a bluff."

"Is he bluffing?" Tetsu questioned as they all watched carefully.

"He only had three last time." Cletus said as none of them were sure if he was bluffing or not.

"Get him! He has no fourth baseball or whatever!" DiNurro said as he ordered all of his men to attack.

"Whoever said it was a baseball? You just don't know where to look." Jethro said. "Mightyena, Hyper Beam!" Mightyena went through with the attack as it gathered power and unleashed a powerful blast. That Hyper Beam was powerful as it blasted all of them in one hit and took all of them out. Not a single one was left standing.

"Amazing!" Tetsu said.

"I've never seen a Hyper Beam so powerful!" Cletus said as they were all amazed with Mightyena's power, especially Poochyena.

"That explosion is sure to draw Jenny's attention, and I don't have enough cuffs for all of them." Jethro said. "I think it's time for us to go. Let's go, Mightyena." Jethro felt like leaving as there was nothing left for him. So, he and Mightyena went on ahead.

"Hey! Jethro! Thanks for helping my Poochyena!" Davis said.

"Don't mention it. It's just what I do." Jethro said. "I will say this. I can tell just by looking that your Poochyena is a tough one. Keep up the good work and it will evolve soon itself."

"It will?!" Davis said as he and Poochyena like that. With Jethro and Mightyena just went off like fading shadows. It didn't take long for Officer Jenny to show up and apprehend all those criminals. She's aware this is Jethro's doing and still isn't happy. The gang overheard them talking and felt bad.

"Unbelievable. I overheard them talking about Jethro." Tetsu said. "They're glad these guys are caught, but they still say things like Jethro should behave."

"Jethro merely just stood up for himself." Cletus said. "He wasn't going to give in to that criminal's demands or anything. He had the courage to do what others wouldn't. It's almost rather unfair he's getting a bad reputation for all of this."

"It really is." Davis said as he felt bad for Jethro, especially since he saved Poochyena. "Maybe Jethro has the right idea. The law isn't a bad thing, but sometimes you just got to do what you believe is right. You just need to think for yourself and stand up for that cause. It's something to think about."

"Well, now that the whole mess is over with, there's one other thing to get ready for." Tetsu said.

"Yeah. It's time for our gym battle." Davis said as he was excited.

After meeting a former cop, it has our heroes thinking about what to do when it comes to law and what is really right. It's something to think about because doing what is right can be a hard decision to make. While keeping that in mind, the time has come for Tetsu and Davis to have their gym battle. You don't want to miss it.
