Our heroes have finally arrived in Texstar City, one of the larger cities of Centros. This is where Davis plans to win his sixth badge, and he surely isn't waiting around.
"We're here!" Davis said as all of them stood in front of the gym. Davis was ready to go and charge right in the gym for a battle.
"Any idea what kind of pokemon this gym uses?" Tetsu questioned.
"Let me think." Cletus said as he thought it over. "I believe this gym specializes in steel-type pokemon."
"It doesn't matter to me what kind of pokemon they use. I'm all set to go." Davis said. "Come on! Let's have ourselves a battle!" He called and that was right when they heard screaming coming from the gym. Was Davis that intimidating?

"Davis, what did you do?" Imperialdramon questioned.
"I don't know." Davis said as they were all rather nervous about the screaming. That was right when someone dressed like a private with short blonde hair came running out and nearly ran into them. "Hey. Are you okay?"
"No, I'm not." The man said. All of them took a look inside to see what he was running from. For a second, Imperialdramon saw something huge move back there before the doors closed up.
"What was that?" Imperialdramon said.
"I can't believe this is actually happening." The man said as he seemed terrified. "I might be trained, but there's nothing about handling ghosts. Ghosts aren't real, but what other explanation could there be? The gym is haunted."
"Haunted?" They all questioned. Something weird was going on and they needed to find out. All of them moved away from the gym and found a place where they can all just talk.
"It all started about a few days ago." The man explained. "I went diving to salvage some parts from wrecked ships and such."
"Salvage parts? For what?" Cletus asked.
"It's something we do in the gym." The man said. "We take pieces of metal, even from abandoned houses and vehicles, and forged it into new material we can use, forge equipment and such for the gym or anything else we need. Last week, I managed to salvaged some parts from old ships. That was when it all started." When it was just a normal day for him, he was working on with the furnace and such, melting steel down and using what he can. He was terrified as he felt some sort of ghostly force in the air. Next thing he knew, everything in the gym was moving and trying to attack him. For the past few days, it went on like that. "I don't know what else to explain. It feels like there's something there, but I can't see or find it. Something is moving everything, but there's nothing. I don't know how else to explain it, but the gym might be haunted."
"Haunted? That seems a little ridiculous." Cletus said.
"I don't blame you for not believing me, but something is seriously wrong." The man claimed.
"Guys, he might be telling the truth. I saw something big moving inside the gym before the doors closed." Imperialdramon said. "Maybe there's really something off."
"I'm sure there's a logical explanation for it." Cletus said.
"It just sounds like someone's been working too close to the furnace or something." Tetsu said.
"Well, if there really is something going on, we'll help figure it out." Cletus said.
"You will?" The man asked. "You don't sound scared."
"You can't be scared of something that isn't real." Tetsu said.
"I'm sure we can find whatever is really going on." Cletus said.
"Hold on a second!" Davis said as he wasn't interested that much at the moment. "All I really want to know about is my gym battle!"
"Can't you see that's going to have to wait?" Tetsu said with annoyance.
"The lieutenant isn't here anyway." The man said.
"The lieutenant?" Tetsu questioned.
"I'm sorry. I never introduced myself, have I? My name is Maxwell. The gym leader happens to be my older brother: Lieutenant Steel. However, I'm afraid he's not here at the moment. He's off doing some of his own training."
"A steel-type gym, run by a man named Lieutenant Steel, that does steelwork. Yeah, that doesn't sound redundant." Tetsu sarcastically claimed.
...
The Gym
Maxwell took everyone inside the gym to show them everything that has been going on. When they stepped inside, the place was a mess with different pieces of metal scattered all around.
"This place is a mess." Davis said.
"That's because everything keeps flying around." Maxwell said.
"You mean something just pushing them around, knocking them to the floor, or they are probably just out of balance." Cletus said as he was being skeptical. "There is no ghost. I'm sure there's a good explanation." They all moved around until Imperialdramon bumped his foot against something.
"What the heck?" Imperialdramon said as he looked at what he bumped into and it ended up being a huge anchor. "Look at the size of this anchor. How did this thing get here?"
"That's what I pulled out from my diving trip." Maxwell claimed. "I saw this large anchor just hanging against a sunken ship. It's unlike any I've seen before, and I needed a lot of help to move it. I knew with something this big, we would have a large supply of metal. I was going to clean it when all of this crazy stuff started."
"Clean it?" Davis questioned.
"Come with me. I'll show you what I'm talking about." Maxwell said as he showed them a different part of the gym, but Imperialdramon looked back at the anchor as he had a bad feeling from it. Maxwell took them to a different part of the gym and it looked like some sort of cleaning station. There was a bunch of cleaning and shiny pieces of metal around.
"You see, we take the pieces of metal we find and clean them up." Maxwell said. "That helps with the forging. Any extra material like moss or rust on them could cause some problems. That anchor was also covered in seaweed and I was going to start cleaning it when it all happened."
"What happened exactly?" Tetsu said. Maxwell was trying to figure out how to explain it when he spotted something that spooked him. Suddenly, they all felt a chill down their spine. "Hey. Did it just get cold in here?"
"Something like that" Maxwell claimed. They all looked behind them and saw hoses moving on their own and aimed directly at them. Suddenly, they all got blasted with pressured water. "Quick! Through the door!" They all hurried out through the door as the hoses chased after them. All of them made it through and slammed it shut.
"What the heck was that?!" Davis said.
"That was an example of what I was talking about!" Maxwell said.
"That was rather weird. How did all of that happen?" Tetsu questioned.
"Maybe the water pressure was set to high and caused the hoses to go out of control." Cletus said.
"But who turned the water on?" Imperialdramon questioned. That did seem rather weird, but he noticed something else off. He spotted the anchor from before and it looked like it moved. "Wasn't that back there?"
"Now you see what I'm talking about." Maxwell said. "It's just as bad in where we do our little crafting."
"Crafting?" Davis questioned. Maxwell showed the way to a building connected to the gym. He took them to where they take the metal and remake it into something else.
"Here we are. We use that furnace and tools to melt the metal and help convert it into something else." Maxwell said.
"What do you turn all the metal into?" Davis questioned.
"Usually personal stuff like exercise equipment or something we might need in the future." Maxwell said. "My brother uses it to give him some proper equipment, not to mention that it can be a great workout. This takes a lot of strength and patience. My brother says that it's quite important for a soldier to get their own hands dirty, know every little inch of the things they use. He does everything with his bare hands."
"The gym leader sounds like he's one tough cookie." Imperialdramon said. "So what about the weird stuff you've been saying goes on in here?" Suddenly, they all felt that ghostly presence again. When they felt that, the tools and pieces of metal were moving on their own again.
"That! That's what's been going on!" Maxwell said. Everything came at them like it all wanted to attack them. All of them ran for it and tried to get out of there. They ran down the passage way and made sure to shut the door. "See what I'm talking about?! How do you explain all that?!"
"There really is something weird going on, but what?" Cletus said as he can't seem to figure it out. "Magnets would explain the moving metal, but not how they seemed fixated on us."
"Maybe..." Imperialdramon tried to figure it out, but then he noticed something. The anchor from before was there too. "I think I know! It has something to do with that anchor!" He said as he pointed right to it.
"What are you talking about?" Davis questioned.
"There's something off with that anchor, not to mention it shows up after we get attacked." Imperialdramon said.
"Actually, I was running from it when I ran into all of you." Maxwell said as he thought something was off.
"How did that anchor get here in the first place? It's much too big for one person to move." Tetsu said. All of them took a good look at the anchor. Suddenly, it was floating in the air with everything else. That gave them a good scare. Suddenly, the anchor shot straight at them. Imperialdramon tried stopping the attack, but the anchor knocked him all the way through the wall and he ended up outside.
"Are you okay?!" Davis called.
"I'm good." Imperialdramon said, but that anchor wasn't done. Something weird was going on as a dark power was moving everything.
"Quick! Outside!" Cletus called. All of them hurried outside, but something weird was going on. Everything floated out and it looked like it really was haunted. None of them have seen anything like this before. "What is going on?!"
"I don't know." Tetsu said. The anchor attacked them again, but they all moved out of the way from it.
"I don't understand! Why is this happening?!" Maxwell called as none of them knew what to think of it.
"That is no anchor!" All of them looked and was met with someone new. He was dressed in camouflage attire with a white shirt and had blonde spikey hair with dog tags. "That anchor is the cause of all this because that is no regular anchor!"
"Bro! I mean...Sir!" Maxwell called.
"Bro? Sir? You mean you're Lieutenant Steel?" Tetsu said.
"You messed up, Maxwell. That isn't an anchor. It's a pokemon called Dhelmise." Steel said.
"A pokemon?" Davis questioned. All of them took a good look at the anchor and saw an eye open up and freaked them all out.
"Dhelmise!"
"It is a pokemon!" Cletus said.
"That thing is a pokemon?" Davis questioned as he took a look at his pokedex.
"Dhelmise, the Sea Creeper Pokemon. A ghost and grass type. Dhelmise attaches itself to sunken ships and waits for its prey to come to them."
"I had no idea! I just thought it was a rusty old anchor!" Maxwell said as he feels like a real idiot.
"Dhelmise was probably sleeping where you found it and you mistook it for a regular old anchor." Steel said. "Dhelmise must have thought it was kidnapped and was using Hex to move things around." Dhelmise still seemed rather angry as it twirled its anchor around and tried attacking them again, but they all moved out of the way. Steel saw that he had to do something to stop this.
"Escavalier, X-Scissor!" Steel called as he chose one of his pokemon.
"Escavalier!" Escavalier went straight at Dhelmise and slashed its lances against Dhelmise and knocked it right out of the air. When Dhelmise got knocked back, it got everything to settle down.
"Wow! That Escavalier knocked that big pokemon out in one strike!" Tetsu said as that was an amazing thing to see. Davis aimed his pokedex at Escavalier to learn more about it
"Escavalier, the Calvalry Pokemon. A bug and steel type, and the evolve form of Karrablast. They appear to have swiped the shells from Shelmet and they use those shells as armor."
"Dhelmise..." Dhelmise still seemed plenty angry as it tried getting back up.
"Dhelmise, wait!" Steel called as he held out his arms. "I am sorry for my brother. He clearly made a mistake! We have no intention of harming your or holding you captive! If you just give us a chance, we can return you to where you came from."
"He's telling you the truth, Dhelmise." Maxwell said. "I'm truly sorry. I had no idea I disturbed you or anything. We can make a call and get you taken back to where we took you from. Please just give us a chance to fix this." They're trying to reason with Dhelmise to try and fix this whole mess. It seems to be working as Dhelmise appears to be calming down.
"That's better. I promise you that everything is going to be just fine." Steel said.
"Wow! He just stepped in and completely handled everything!" Tetsu said.
"Yeah. That Steel knows how to handle a situation." Davis said. From seeing that, he could tell that he might have a tough gym battle ahead of him.
...
Later
Steel made a few calls. Not only is he getting his gym fix, he found a truck for Dhelmise to ride in. Once they made sure Dhelmise was placed inside and secured in, the truck drove off and was taking Dhelmise back to where Maxwell mistakenly took it.
"So in the end, all of this was nothing more than an angry pokemon." Tetsu said.
"I told you that there was a logical explanation." Cletus said.
"I feel like such an idiot for thinking that was a regular anchor." Maxwell said.
"That's why I tell you to be careful and be sure about what you're doing." Steel said. "I'm quite sorry for the trouble my brother got you all mixed up in."
"No, it's fine. We wanted to help." Davis said. "Besides, we were coming to this gym either way."
"I know. Maxwell told me that you wish to challenge my gym, Davis." Steel said. "Well, I'll gladly take your challenge, but I should warn you that I will not be holding anything back. My pokemon and I will be ready for whatever you might throw."
"We'll just see about that." Davis said as he's getting pumped for an exciting gym battle.
After trying to bust a ghost, which ended up being just a ghost pokemon, Davis is now going to have his sixth gym battle. Getting a sample of what this Lieutenant Steel is capable of, what can we expect out of Davis this time? We'll find out soon enough
