Now that Growlithe has become part of the team, our heroes are heading straight for the Calforn Gym for Davis' eighth and final gym battle.

"It won't be long now." Cletus said. "This beach leads straight to Calforn City since it lies by the sea. Calforn Gym is considered the sunniest and one of the most fun cities in all of Centros since it has it's own personal beach."

"A city with it's own beach? Awesome!" Tetsu said.

"Sounds great, but I'm more interested in the gym battle." Davis said as he was excited. His eighth gym is just within reach. As all of them kept walking down, following the sea straight to the city, Imperialdramon looked out to the water and could see a boat coming in. When he saw it, he saw a sense of familiarity.

"Does that boat seem familiar?" Imperialdramon questioned with all of them spotting it and thinking the same thing. The boat pulled up near the shore with all of them wondering what this was about.

"I haven't seen all of you in a long time." They all saw who was steering the boat and saw an old face coming out.

"Jed!" Davis said as they were all glad to see him again.

A new adventure, another day

One more challenge that comes our way

Its up to me and you

I know what we've got to do

We are together now

Friends forever now

Whatever comes our way, we won't run away

Standing tall

And one for all

It's our destiny

Pokemon

(Davis' voice) Creature of the Blue Sea

"Jed! It's been a long time!" Davis said as they recruited with an old friend. Jed was a sailor that thought he saw a mermaid, but ended up being proven wrong.

"It's good to see you all again. What brings you out to this part of the sea?" Jed asked.

"We're on our way to Calforn City so that Davis can have his eighth gym battle." Cletus said.

"Going for big number eight. Pretty good." Jed said.

"What about you? What are you doing all the way out here?" Tetsu asked.

"Would you guys believe I'm looking for a sea monster this time?" Jed questioned. That certainly got their interest. Jed docked his boat and started explaining everything to them. "You guys remember when you helped me with that whole mermaid thing, but it ended up being a Primarina. Well, that whole thing inspired me to do a little more adventuring. I've been going around to find truths about myths or whatever might be out there."

"And you think you have another one?" Davis questioned.

"I do." Jed said. "I'm here to see what it is that's really out there. Try to solve the mysteries of the sea, and I think I might have found one. Some people have been claiming they see some sort of sea monster in these waters."

"A sea monster?" Tetsu said.

"Many sailors believe they have seen one one in these waters, but it's just some sort of giant shadow. No one has gotten a good look as to what that monster is." Jed said. "The thing is that many believe it to be a pokemon, but it vanishes once an attack is used against it. No one can make sense of it. That's why I'm here. I'm going to see what this sea monster is."

"Sounds like fun." Davis said.

"But there's no way an actual sea monster lives in these waters." Cletus said as he was being skeptical.

"Who cares? We've got to check this out." Davis said.

"I had a feeling you guys might say that." Jed said as he was more than willing to let them come along.

...

The Sea

Jed let Davis and the others come along and learn more about the mysterious sea monster. They are determined to find out if there is really any truth to this sea monster.

"Here we are." Jed said as he pulled his boat out to sea and hit a spot for him to pull it over. "This is the area where the sea monster has been spotted. This part of the sea does lead to the Twilight Zone, maybe even Midnight Zone."

"Twilight Zone and Midnight Zone?" Davis questioned.

"Ocean depths are divided into zones. Each zone is given it's name based on the amount of sunlight that can reach through the water." Tetsu said. "The Twilight Zone goes down to about a thousand meters."

"We have a lot of ocean ground to cover." Jed said.

"Sweet! We get to use the submarine!" Davis said as he headed straight for it.

"No fair, Davis! You got to go last time!" Tetsu called as he wanted to go instead.

...

Davis and Jed

Davis was able to get to the submarine and went down with Jed. Once the two got the submarine working, the two of them headed down and kept their eyes open for anything out of the ordinary.

"This is so cool." Davis said as he loved this. "So, if this Twilight Zone can go to about a thousand meters, can this submarine really handle something like that?"

"Good question. The deeper we go, the more water pressure is added." Jed said. "Some submarines can't handle that kind of pressure, but this old baby should be able to take it all just fine as long as we stay within the Twilight Zone. Be sure to keep your eyes open for anything when we get down there, Davis. We're doing down deep and there'll be less light the deeper we go. It will be darker and that will make it a little difficult to see."

"You really think that sea monster could be down this deep?" Davis questioned.

"Well, we're going to find out." Jed said as they got to work.

...

The Boat

"Unbelievable." Tetsu complained. "It's not fair. How come Davis gets to go down when he went down last time?"

"How do you think I feel? I wanted to go too, but I can't because I'm too big for the sub." Imperialdramon complained.

"Stop complaining." Cletus said as he worked the equipment. "Let's just see if there is really a monster somewhere out there. It seems like Jed has updated his gear." He said as he took a look at it. "One radar is used for the boat itself and the second is connected to the submarine."

"If it's not a sea monster and it is pokemon, what kind of pokemon do you think it is?" Tetsu questioned.

"I'm not sure." Cletus said. "He said after a pokemon attacks it, it just disappeared. He also said that it was a big shadow. What pokemon is big, but could just vanished that lives in the water?" He wondered as he tried to figure it out.

"Do you think it uses Acid Armor? That attack practically turns the body into water." Tetsu said.

"That is possible." Tetsu said. That was when one of the radars started going off.

"What is it?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"It's the sub's radar." Cletus said as they were picking up something with Cletus grabbing the radio. "There's something heading in their direction. Something big."

...

The Submarine

"Oh man. It really is getting dark down here." Davis said as they went deeper and deeper under the sea.

"Davis and Jed, come in. Brace yourselves. Something's heading in your direction and it's something big." Cletus contacted. They kept their eyes opened for anything. As Davis had a look around, he caught the sight of something swimming past them.

"I saw something! There is something out there!" Davis said.

"What was it?" Jed said.

"I'm not sure. It was too dark." Davis said.

"But what could it be?" Jed said as he looked away from the front, but that was when Davis could see it.

"Jed! In front of us!" Davis said. He looked and they could see something heading straight for them. Jed acted quickly as he steered the sub down to avoid a collision course, but that was when they noticed what it was. It looked like a large fish made out of smaller fish. "Is that it? Is that the sea monster?"

"Maybe." Jed said as he got a good look at it. "Wait a minute. That's a Wishiwashi!"

"A what?" Davis questioned.

"A Wishiwashi. It's a pokemon." Jed said.

"That can't be it's real name." Davis said as he took out his pokedex to learn more about it.

"Wishiwashi Solo Form, the Small Fry Pokemon. A water-type."

"Hold on. It looks different in the pokedex, and it says that Wishiwashi are much smaller than what we just saw." Davis said.

"That's because we just saw it's Schooling Form." Jed said. When he pointed that out, Davis made some adjustments to his pokedex and got the form they saw.

"Wishiwashi Schooling Form, the Small Fry Pokemon. A water-type. Wishiwashi are rather weak on their own, but they gathered together and can be considered the Demon of the Sea."

"I guess it's true what they say. Big things can come in small packages." Davis said as he was a little impressed with this pokemon.

...

The Boat

"Did you guys hear that? The sea monster everyone has been talking about was really the Schooling Form of a Wishiwashi." Cletus said.

"It makes sense now." Tetsu said. "That pokemon can be powerful when it enters that form. It also explains how this sea monster kept disappearing. Whenever it's attacked, it must revert back to its original form. That's what happens."

"Uh... This all sounds interesting, but there is one thing I'm concerned about." Imperialdramon pointed out. "If that thing has been causing trouble and mischief out here, what is it going to do to Davis and Jed? Especially if it's really that big." When he pointed that out, it got them concerned as well.

...

The Submarine

"Well, that is apparently one mystery solved." Jed said as he felt like his work was done.

"Uh... Jed! It's coming at us again!" Davis said as they saw Wishiwashi coming back around and tried ramming them. Jed acted quickly as he tried steering away from it. Wishiwashi swam past them with the current pushing them around. "What is with that thing?!"

"I don't know, but this isn't looking good." Jed said as it was coming back around with Jed barely able to keep away from it. "This is a little dangerous. If it hits us, we're in trouble. I'm pulling out of here." He tried to steer the sub to head straight for the surface, but something was up with that pokemon. It looks like it likes to cause mischief as it started swimming in a circle and Jed noticed that. "Oh no! It's using Whirlpool!" Using an attack like that at that calibur would be a serious problem to them.

...

The Surface

"Guys! Pull the boat away!" Jed contacted.

"What for?" Cletus questioned.

"I'm guessing because of that!" Tetsu said as he saw the whirlpool forming. It was already too late as the ship was being pulled by the current and it wasn't looking good at all for them. Jed was able to make it to the surface, but the submarine was still being pulled in the current.

"If we don't do something soon, we're going to get caught in the vortex!" Jed said. Davis knew he had to move fast as he opened up the hatch.

"Imperialdramon! Fly over the water and see if you can spot Wishiwashi in there!" Davis called. Imperialdramon heard him and flew right over the whirlpool to try and spot Wishiwashi with him spotting the fin sticking out of the water.

"I see it!" Imperialdramon said.

"Blast it with Dragon Pulse at full power!" Davis ordered. Imperialdramon went through with it as he launched his attack and blasted right where Wishiwashi was. The attack managed to hit and hit Wishiwashi squared right in the head and caused Whirlpool to be canceled out and saved both boats.

"Quick thinking. Nicely done." Jed said.

"Thanks, but where'd it go? That attack looked like it hit hard." Davis said. He looked around to try and find Wishiwashi until it came up, but it was only it's Solo Form now. "No way! That tiny little thing was causing all that trouble?!"

"Goes to show you that big things really do come in small packages." Imperialdramon claimed. Although, Wishiwashi didn't seem happy as it was saying something. "What?! Same to you, pal!" Imperialdramon called with Wishiwashi diving back in the water with the sea monster disappearing with it.

"I can't believe that little pokemon caused so much trouble, and people thought it was a monster." Davis said.

"That's the interesting thing about pokemon and this world." Jed said. "There's a lot of mystery out there, and pokemon can be the embodiment of mystery. Who knows what's really out there, but that's why I'm out here." With this marking the closing of another fun sea mystery, it goes to show that there's no telling what is out there. There could be a logical reason, but it's always filled with surprises.

After solving another mystery of the sea with an old friend, our heroes are reminded of the mysteries out there. Not to mention the excitement that comes from seeing what is really out there. The only way to see the truth is to step into adventure. That's what our heroes will keep doing...as the journey continues
