"All eight... I managed to get all eight badges." Davis said as he was reliving the glory of having all eight badges in his possession. He certainly can't stop looking.
"If he keeps gazing at those badges, I might have to take them so he can see where he's going." Tetsu said.
"Davis, could you please stop looking at your badges? Before we hit the road to Yorker City, we should see Flint." Cletus said.
"Yeah. You guys are right." Davis said as he put his badges away.
Davis is rather excited now that he managed to obtain all eight of the badges needed to qualify for the Centros League. As you can imagine, he's rather excited. All that is left is for our heroes to head to Yorker City.
"No one was at the gym, but he's probably training somewhere." Tetsu said. "Seeing Davis earn his seventh badge has got to have motivated him to get stronger and get his eighth badge."
"Yeah, but where is he training?" Cletus said.
"Hold on." Imperialdramon said as he had them all stop for a moment and could hear the faint sound of training going on. "This way!" He said as he showed the way. All four of them kept moving until they found a field to see Flint training with Quilava.
"That's it, Quilava. Keep it up and we'll get that eighth badge." Flint said. "We can't be outdone. We've got to keep our own fire going."
"Quilava!"
"Hey, Flint!" Davis called as he and the others showed up.
"Hey, guys." Flint said. "You're just seeing us do some training. Davis, you might have all eight badges, but that doesn't mean Quilava and I will stay behind. Show them, Quilava!"
"Quilava!" Quilava jumped in the air and was going to show it's power, but something strange happen. Another pokemon slithered out of nowhere and tried attacking Quilava. They saw that an Arbok just tried to attack an with no reason. What is this about?
A new adventure, another day
One more challenge that comes our way
Its up to me and you
I know what we've got to do
We are together now
Friends forever now
Whatever comes our way, we won't run away
Standing tall
And one for all
It's our destiny
Pokemon
(Davis' voice) To Gigantamax Proportions
"Quilava, dodge it!" Flint called with Quilava rolling out of the of the Arbok's attack. "What was that about?"
"Why did that Arbok just attack?" Cletus questioned. Davis pulled out his pokedex to learn more about his pokemon.
"Arbok, the Cobra Pokemon. A poison-type, and the evolve form of Ekans. The face-like patter on Arbok's body is usually used for intimidation so they coil themselves around their prey."
"But why would it attack us like this? What does it want?" Tetsu questioned.
"Arbok, no! That's enough!" All of them looked and saw a lady scientist showed up. She had sandy hair tied back with her wearing glasses and a white lab coat with her also wearing a lime green shirt with a lavender skirt. "I told you a thousand times that you can't just attack pokemon like that." She claimed as she got Arbok to back down. "I'm terribly sorry. This is my Arbok and it can't help itself sometimes."
"Just as long as you didn't hurt anyone, but you got to watch Arbok more carefully." Davis said.
"Davis! Do you not know who this is?!" Flint said as he didn't agree with what Davis said. "You are talking to thee Ginger of the Elite Four!"
"Elite Four?!" All of them said as they couldn't believe it. Ginger was one of the Elite Four, and also the last member they have yet to meet until today.
"It's nice to meet you all." Ginger said as she curtsey to them. "I really am Ginger of the Elite Four. That makes me a little more embarrassed about my Arbok's behavior." She claimed with Arbok feeling bad as well. "Come along now, Arbok. We should get going."
"Sharok." The two of them got going, but Davis and the others didn't want to see her go so soon.
"Hold on! You're the last of the Elite Four for us to meet!" Davis called. "My friends and I have met the other members of the Elite Four, as well as Chase himself!" He called to try and get her to talk to them. It certainly got her attention.
"Hold on! You guys really met Chase himself?!" Flint said as he and Quilava were surprised they were.
"Sure did, and Chase helped us out a few times." Cletus said.
"Is that so?" Ginger said as she seemed interested. "I know Chase quite well. If you're acquainted with him, you must be good people." She claimed as they were now formally getting to know each other.
"Ginger... If I remember correctly, you're a poison-type specialist as well as a fellow researcher. Is that right?" Cletus asked.
"That I am." Ginger said.
"You also specialize in using a technique with pokemon called Gigantamax. Is that right?" Tetsu questioned.
"Gigantamax AND Dynamax, which are quite similar." Ginger said. "That's also what I do my research on."
"What is all that?" Davis questioned.
"Well, I'll be more than glad to show you." Ginger said as she was inviting all of them back to her place.
...
Ginger's Home
Ginger brought all of them back to her place. It was a small lab, but was rather homey.
"Welcome to my home." Ginger said as she allowed all of them in. "I just ask that you mind yourselves with my research. When I'm not having battles, I tend to focus on my research."
"I'll bet." Tetsu said as he noticed some paperwork just laying around.
"You said your research is on Gigantamax and Dynamax. What exactly is that? I've never heard of it before." Flint said.
"I think Ven mentioned it when we met him, but I don't really know what it is." Cletus said.
"That's quite all right." Ginger claimed. "It's a process and power for pokemon that isn't exactly known outside the Galar region. It can be a little difficult to pull off outside of that region. That there is part of my research. I'm trying to figure out why that is? Why is the energy that causes those two methods only found in Galar?"
"But what is it?" Davis asked.
"Gigantamax and Dynamax are forms of power that can use pokemon to grow to giant forms and size." Ginger said.
"Giant size? I don't get it." Tetsu said.
"Let me show you." Ginger said as she pulled out her computer and brought something up for them to see. "This video is of a battle that took place in the Galar region. Watch what happens that involves a Drednaw and a Weavile. This is a clear example of what I'm talking about for both methods." She played the video and they all watched closely.
"This is shaping to be one great battle. Hold on... What is this?" They all saw Weavile's training bringing Weavile back in it's pokeball, but then they all saw a red flash and the pokeball was growing and changing. When he released it, they saw that Weavile grew into a giant. "Oh my! Weavile has Dynamax!"
"That's Dynamax?!" Davis said as they were all shocked to see that. "Weavilve actually became a giant!"
"You meant that literally! How is that possible?!" Cletus said.
"Just wait. Watch Drednaw." Ginger said. They watched as Drednaw's trainer did the same thing as Weavile's trainer. However, Drednaw did not just change in size. It also changed it's form."
"Drednaw has just Gigantamax!"
"That's Dynamax and Gigantamax?!" Flint said.
"That's right." Ginger said. "Dynamax is a phenomenon between trainer and pokemon that causes them to grow to giant size. With some pokemon, their form changes and it's called Gigantamax. Their attacks also change into max moves."
"Max attacks?" Davis said.
"Attacks that depend on the type of attacks your pokemon can use." Ginger said. "When a pokemon Gigantamaxes, they also gain attacks called G-Max moves Attacks they can use when they changed forms."
"This looks so cool and I would love to see it." Davis said.
"I would show you, but I'm afraid I can't do that here." Ginger said. "That's where my research comes in. I'm trying to see if that is the case, what's special about Galar, and what's truly the difference between Dynamax and Gigantamax. Why is it some pokemon can Gigantamax while others can't?"
"You do all of that while also being one of the Elite Four?!" Tetsu said as that sounded astounding.
"That's because battling aids in my research since each and every battle is different." Ginger said. "Finding similar and contrasting principles in battle can help detect what I'm looking for. That brings me to why Arbok attacked you earlier. Arbok was only trying to aid in my research."
"Arbok..." Arbok looked rather ashamed for it's behavior.
"Well, I can see what that was about now. I'm just glad I didn't do anything to annoy you." Flint said.
"How do both techniques work exactly?" Cletus asked. Ginger aided in her explanation by reaching in a small box and pulled out a band.
"For one thing, this is needed. This is called a Dynamax Band." Ginger said. "This band acts as a conduit for the energy needed to allow both transformations to happen. By returning the pokemon to their pokeball and channeling the energy around the pokeball."
"What is this energy you're talking about?" Tetsu questioned.
"It's a special energy found in Galar. Legend says that it belonged to a pokemon that fell in battle long ago against two legendary pokemon." Ginger said. "When that happened, the pokemon's energy rained across Galar and landed in some areas. Many stadiums and gyms were built upon those areas. The energy practically flows through the air and is like a spring. It is only in these areas where both these transformations are possible. I'm trying to see if there's a way to duplicate, mimic, or find other use for this energy. Is it really only in Galar? Are there other places it can be used outside of Galar? These are the questions I'm looking for. I want to share this with the rest of the world."
"That all sounds amazing!" Davis said as that sounded exciting. "I really hope there is a way! Battles like that would be amazing!"
"You can say that again! I'm thinking of heading to Galar when I'm done here!" Flint said.
"Why am I not surprised to hear you two are excited about this?" Tetsu said.
"Hey, Ginger! Since you need battling to help your research, battle me!" Davis said.
"Hold on! Why should she battle you?! I should be the one to battle her!" Flint said. "If she agrees to battle both of us, I should be the one to battle her first!"
"You went first to battle your mother. It's my turn." Davis said.
"You had a gym battle against her! Mine was just a regular battle!" Flint said as the two of them kept arguing as to who should battle Ginger first.
"Will you two please behave?" Cletus asked.
"Will you remember we're guests here?" Tetsu said with annoyance.
"It seems that they're both quite passionate about battling." Ginger said.
"You can say that again." Imperialdramon said.
"I wouldn't mind a battle, but I have a better idea." Ginger said. "Are you two aware of the upcoming tournament that is happening here in Calforn City?"
"A tournament here in Calforn City?" Davis questioned.
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot that Calfonr City's annual Junior Battle Masters Tournament is coming up here!" Flint said.
"That's right, and the winner has a special reward. It's also why I'm here in Calforn City." Ginger claimed. "The winner will have the chance to battle me."
"The winner gets to have a battle against you?!" Davis said as that sounded like a great reward.
"It's also open to anyone would like to battle." Ginger said.
"Sounds like an opportunity to great to pass. I think I'll battle myself." Tetsu said.
"It's been quite a while since I battled myself. I believe I'll enter myself." Cletus said.
"Imperialdramon, we've got to win if it means we'll battle one of the Elite Four here!" Davis said.
"Yeah! We're winning it!" Imperialdramon claimed.
"Get in line! I'm the one who is winning it!" Flint said. Ginger is certainly going to enjoy this. It will be a chance many trainers wouldn't want to pass.
After meeting one of the Elite Four, our heroes have learned more about the great and incredible powers of Dynamax and Gigantamax. They have also learned about the upcoming tournament in Calforn City. Even though we won't see gigantic pokemon battle, this is sure to be an interesting event. You don't want to miss any of it.
