"Hi." Vasquez greeted as Supergirl entered the control room. "How were the holidays?"
"A little tense."
"Alex not coping with being cooped up?"
"Actually Alex wasn't the issue. Well at least not the main one."
"Your Alex still struggling?"
"Yes, and then she and MJ were still fighting."
"Still?"
"Yeah."
"At least there was good news about Kara and Diz."
"What are you talking about?" Kara asked.
"Forget what I said."
"You know I can't do that. What's going on?"
"Pretty sure they are back together."
"How do you know that?"
"Kara has a DEO escort remember."
"And?" Kara asked lost.
"Where do you think Kara went after you got back from Midvale last night?"
"To see Diz, because they are still friends."
"Well based on what Stiles said they were acting more than friends."
"Really?" Kara asked smiling.
"Yes."
"Kara didn't tell you?"
"No. But then I didn't see her much after we got back. I spent the day with Alex."
"Well for Diz's sake I suggest you don't pass this on." Vasquez said.
"Why? Wait, when you say acting like more than friends what exactly do you mean?"
"Ma'am everyone is in the briefing room." Rose said approaching.
"Thanks." Vasquez said leading Supergirl to the briefing.
"Where are we on the shapeshifters?" She asked walking into the room.
"No sign, but then again, how would we tell?" Kepler said.
"But the good news is none of the alarms have triggered." Rose added.
"What about the clinic?" Vasquez asked.
"Without records there isn't much to go on. We have set up surveillance, but nothing is really standing out. We were hoping to talk to Dr Keller and see if any patients stood out for him." Cork said.
"Want me to do that?" Supergirl asked.
"That'd be great."
"Anything else?" Vasquez asked.
"Yes." Ruby said. "When fake Alex was in charge she asked me to grab something from the archives. I have been going through the files I grabbed. And in one of them was reference to something in Lab Theta."
"What?"
"Something called Cyberwalk." Ruby said.
"What's that?" Supergirl asked.
"It is alien tech. We don't know exactly what it does." Vasquez said.
"But you have theories?"
"Plenty." Vasquez said. "Ruby, Reeves, starting reading up on those theories."

"How was Midvale?" Steve asked as he joined Kara in the coffee shop.
"A little fraught."
"How's Alex doing?"
"Um, I don't know. She's really lost her self confidence."
"Have they caught the people who did it?"
"No. Not yet." Kara replied before asking. "How was your Christmas?"
"Yeah, it was good. We got away and Martin wasn't terrified to be alone with me, so that's progress."
"I'm glad." Kara smiled. "Thank you for coming down here."
"No problem, what can I do for you?"
"We have been looking into the clinic you work in to try to figure out what fake you was up to."
"And?"
"A big dead end. So we were hoping you could help."
"How?"
"Well, if your double wanted access to the clinic, maybe it was to get to a specific patient. So any stand out?"
"Enough to make me think they are the target of some evil underworlders? No."
"Any metas maybe?"
"They are mainly metas." He said. "But I don't see who'd they be looking for that would make posing as me important. But let me think it over."
"Thanks."
"But in return we have to talk about a subject of my choice."
"Ummm, okay. What?"
"You."
"Me what?" Kara asked confused.
"I want to talk about you. Well see how you were doing."
"Oh, I'm fine."
"Yeah, no you're not." Steve argued.
"Fine, I'm not. People I care about keeping getting hurt and I'm angry. I can feel my angry grow inside me and I don't like it. I don't like feeling angry, it makes me feel not in control and helpless. Maybe I am being punished."
"Punished for what?"
"I don't know. Maybe it's my destiny."
"Destiny?" Steve said taking Kara's coffee cup and sniffing it.
"What are you doing?"
"Just checking to see if it contained more than just coffee."
"Bad things always happen to me. Ever since I was a kid. I lost my pl, family, my home."
"Which was terrible, but you gained Alex and Eliza-" Steve said.
"But cost them Jeremiah. And Alex sacrificed so much to look after me. Maybe I shouldn't have come back. If I hadn't maybe Alex would be safer."
"Or maybe she wouldn't. But by being here you have family and friends to help you." He said as Kara's phone rang.
"Sorry, I have to take this." She said before answering the call.
"Okay, I'll be right there." She said ending the call and looking at Steve. "Sorry I have to go."
"Of course."
"Thanks for today." Kara said leaving.

"I am so bored." The older Alex complained when her sister entered her bedroom.
"It's not long now."
"It is two weeks before I am meant to be able to go into the office, which is stupid." Alex complained.
"At least you get to go to physio tomorrow." Kara pointed out.
"I hate physio." Alex complained.
"Well I have something for you to mull over." Kara said.
"What?"
"Cyberwalk."
"What about it?" Alex asked.
"There's a chance that is what the other you was after."
"Why?"
"Don't know. And no one seems to know what it is for, which makes it hard to answer that question." Kara said.
"Maybe that's it." Alex said.
"What's it?" Kara asked lost.
"No one at the DEO knows what it is for. So if someone has tried to steal it, they must at least have heard of it. That narrows down the list of suspects."
"You think it is someone inside the DEO?"
"No. But it could be a former Agent, or someone involved in the briefing we gave." Alex said. "Rose should be able to get a list of everyone who was read into it."
"That does actually sound like progress." Kara agreed.
"No need to sound so surprised." Alex said.
"Sorry." Kara smiled. "So what do you want me to get you for dinner?"
"I'm not hungry." Alex said. "I just ate a protein bar so I can wait for MJ to get home."
"You sure?"
"I'm sure. Go see Alex, she should be back soon."
"Okay, call if you need anything."
00
"How was school?" Kara asked when she saw her daughter lying on her bed that evening.
"Everyone treated me like a freak so great."
"I know it is hard right now, but next week there will be something else grabbing their attention."
"Doesn't help me this week."
"It'll get better." Kara said.
"Will it? Everyone is watching me. What if I accidentally use my powers?"
"You won't. You are in control."
"What if I have another panic attack and lose control?"
"I could sit here all evening telling you why that won't happen, but you won't believe me, so we are going to do something else."
"What?"
"A session with J'onn."
00
"That man is a sadist." The adult Alex grumbled once the physio had left the gym. "Don't see why I can't do this at the DEO."
"That's easy. No one trusts you not to stay and do work." Kara said passing her sister a bottle of water. "How's the leg."
"Well you saw the last few minutes of that disaster." Alex said still breathing heavily.
"Ryan said you were making good progress."
"Ryans's job is to tell me I am making good progress."
"Pretty sure Ryans's job is to help you make progress." Kara corrected.
"And if I believe I am making progress he wins."
"Not sure you are looking at this the right way." Kara said passing Alex her crutches. "Want some help getting up?"
"No I'm-" Alex said trying to stand, only to feel pain in her ribs.
"I've got you." Kara said helping her get to her feet.
"Thanks." Alex said.
"Let's get you home."
"Or, maybe we could stop for a coffee, do something normal?"
"We can stop at the coffee cart." Kara conceded. "And sit out side to drink it. But after that your team is taking you home."
"Thank you." Alex said.
00
"So what's wrong?" Alex asked her sister as they sat drinking their coffee.
"What?"
"What's wrong? Your crinkle is deep."
"It's Alex. She is really stressed."
"About being attacked?"
"No. About losing control. Apparently everyone at school is talking about her and what happened. She says everyone is watching her and that makes her feel more pressure to stay in control of her powers. We went to see J'onn last night and did some mediative exercises, but I'm not sure they helped."
"Pretty sure you can't cure stress in one session." Alex said.
"Some hint of progress would be nice."
"I'll talk to MJ and see if he can help keep an eye on things."
"Thanks."
"Sure, but is that the only thing bothering you."
"No. I keep thinking how close I was to losing her. What if she didn't have her phone on her and your guys couldn't track her? I wouldn't have got to her in time."
"But she did have a phone and you did find her." Alex reminded her.
"I know, but that isn't stopping all the bad scenarios going through my head."
"I know." Alex said. "But we are going to work together to make sure those things never happen. Which is all the more reason for me to get back to work."
00
"Where have you been?" Alex asked as MJ came into the house.
"Practice." He shrugged.
"You don't have practice on a Tuesday."
"It was extra practice." He said. "I'm going to my room."
"Not so fast." Alex said.
"What?"
"I need you to look out for your cousin."
"What? Why?"
"It sounds like she's having a tough time at school. Apparently everyone is talking about her."
"It's not like I can stop that."
"I know. But she is worried about losing control. You are the only one at school who knows what happens when she loses control."
"And it is something I can't stop."
"Sometimes a friend can make a difference."
"So I put my life on hold?"
"She's family and she needs help. I'm not sure what is going on with you, but I thought I raised you to have compassion."
