The Junior Battle Masters Tournament is drawing to an end as it has reached the semi-finals. Davis, Flint, and Shade are in. The prize is a chance to battle one of the Elite Four. A winner is going to be declared soon enough.

"Venomoth, Psybeam!" Davis called.

"Venomoth!" Venomoth fired a beam from its eyes and blasted Leavanny with it. The power was enough to beat Leavanny and knocked it right out of the battle.

"Leavanny is unable to battle! Venomoth is the winner!"

"There we have it! Davis is our first finalist!" Vanessa announced.

"Way to go, Venomoth!" Davis cheered as Venmoth flew right into his arms.

"That means we have only one battle to decide who will be joining Davis. Will it be Flint or Shade? I say that it's time we find out." Ginger said. The two of them came out on the battlefield and were ready to do some battling.

A new adventure, another day

(Davis' voice) We Are Burning Now

The second round of the semi-finals is about to begin. Flint and Shade went out on the battlefield and they were both ready to start their battle.

"Are you ready? I'm going all-out." Flint said.

"Perhaps, but according to my calculations, the odds of winning are greatly in my favor." Shade claimed.

"We'll see about that! Chandelure, time to turn up the heat!" Flint called as he chose his pokemon.

"Chandelure!"

"A Chandelure?" Davis questioned as he pulled out his pokedex.

"Chandelure, the Luring Pokemon. A ghost and fire-type, and the evolve form of Lampent. Usually found in mansions, Chandelure swings its arms around in a hypnotic ominous dance of flames."

"Back when we were separated from Tetsu, I seem to remember you mistakenly attacked his Lampent thinking it was a wild pokemon." Cletus said.

"Oh yeah. I actually did forget that." Davis said as he was a little embarrassed. "Either way, he used that Lampent to also catch his Magmar. That's got to be the same one."

"No surprise that Flint would use another fire-type, but who do you think Shade would use?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"Shade's well aware of that fact, so it's got to be a pokemon that has the advantage." Tetsu figured.

"Clawlitzer, let's go!" Shade called.

"Clawlitzer!"

"Cool! Shade's got himself a Clawlitzer!" Tetsu cheered with Davis pointing his pokedex at that pokemon.

"Clawlitzer, the Howlitzer Pokemon. A water-type, and the evolve form of Clauncher. Clawlitzer can travel at sixty knots in water. They gather water into its giant claw and can shoot them like cannonballs."

"I knew you would be using another fire-type, so it's only logical to use a water-type." Shade said.

"That doesn't bother us. My pokemon and I are ready for when we have the type disadvantage. It won't be enough to help you win." Flint said. "Let's quit wasting time and get straight to battling. Chandelure, kick this battle off with Flame Burst!" Chandelure started this battle as it launched a blast of fire at Clawlitzer. It managed to hit, but Clawlitzer was able to block it. "Keep using Flame Burst!" Chandelure fired a series of the same attack, but Clawlitzer was blocking each one.

"Chandelure keeps firing away. Clawlitzer might not be bothered by fire-type attacks, but the damage will pile on if Shade doesn't do something." Vanessa said.

"Clawlitzer, Aqua Jet!" Shade said. Clawlitzer surrounded itself in water and flew straight at Chandelure.

"Dodge it!" Flint called. Chandelure moved straight up and was able to avoid Clawlitzer's attack, but Shade was already calculating his next move.

"Turn straight up at one-sixty degrees!" Shade said. Clawlitzer turned around just like Shade said and was heading straight for Chandelure.

"Behind you!" Flint shouted. Chandelure tried to avoid the attack, but Clawlitzer still managed to land a hit against Chandelure and got it spinning around. It was looking good for Shade, especially when it was doing the aiming for Clawlitzer thanks to his gadget over his face.

"There! Use Water Pulse!" Shade ordered.

"Chandelure, Flame Burst!" Flint said. Both of their pokemon tried attacking, but Clawlitzer's water pulse blasted right through Chandelure's attack and nearly hit Chandelure.

"Darn. Just missed." Shade said as he tried aiming again.

"That Water Pulse looked like it had a lot of power behind it." Vanessa said.

"That there is Clawitzer's ability: Mega Launcher. Attacks that involve aura or pulses like Water Pulse, Aura Sphere, or Dark Pulse are even stronger." Ginger said.

"Chandelure is already at a big disadvantage. One hit from an attack like that could be the end of the battle." Cletus said.

"Chandelure, keep moving! Give them a moving target that's harder to hit!" Flint called. Chandelure moved around and tried making it difficult for them to aim.

"It's no use." Shade said as he was trying to get a lock right on Chandelure for Clawlitzer's next attack. "Clawlitzer, get ready to use Dark Pulse. Fire on my mark." Clawlitzer powered its attack and was getting ready to fire. One hit from an attack like that could be enough to end this.

"Let's see if you can fire after this! Chandelure, Confuse Ray!" Flint called. Chandelure unleashed a bright light that was a little blinding. That light unleashed a small orb that flew right over to Clawlitzer and affected it. Clawlitzer was acting confuse and couldn't aim properly.

"Oh boy... Clawlitzer's now confused from that Confuse Ray. That could be a problem." Vanessa said.

"Oh no! Not that!" Shade said. "I've got Chandelure locked, but Clawlitzer won't be able to fire properly."

"And I'm afraid I've got an attack that is going to make it much worse for you." Flint said. "Chandelure, give them the chills by using Hex!" Chandelure used its ghost power that was damaging Clawlitzer. Clawlitzer was moved like an air cannon launched it. Clawlitzer hit the ceiling and plummeted straight down with it crashing into the ground.

"Clawlitzer!" Shade called out of concern. When the dust cleared away, Clawlitzer was defeated.

"Clawlitzer is unable to battle! Chandelure is the winner!"

"Clawlitzer!" Shade called as he hurried over to it.

"That's not something you see often. A fire-type was able to beat a water-type." Ginger said.

"It's not exactly impractical." Vanessa said. "That last attack did some real damage. Hex can be a powerful move, but it becomes even stronger when the opponent is under a status condition like confusion."

"Way to go Chandelure! You were awesome!" Flint said.

"Chandelure!"

"Look at that. Flint's acting like himself again." Davis said as they were all glad to see that. "I don't know what you said to him, Tetsu, but it seems like it worked."

"All he needed was to be sure about himself." Tetsu claimed.

"We now have our two finalists. It's going to be Flint vs. Davis." Vanessa announced. The two of them looked at each other as they were both looking forward to this battle. They both got themselves ready as they both stood on the battlefield and were ready to go right now.

"It looks like these two trainers are excited about the battle." Ginger said. "They're both standing there and are ready to battle. We'll have our winner soon enough."

"That's right. Both of these young trainers are fired up and ready to go." Vanessa said as the two stood facing each other, excited they get to battle each other.

"Look at those two. You can feel the tension from here." Nathan said.

"They're both pumped and ready to go. They both are clearly passionate about battling." Shade said.

"You can say that again." Tetsu said. "I have a feeling we might be in for an interesting battle with this one."

"I say it might all come down to who wants it more." Cletus said as they were all watching closely on this battle.

"No matter what, no hard feelings?" Flint said.

"Why would I have hard feelings when I'm going to win?" Davis teased.

"They're ready to go, and I'm sure we all are, so let's begin!" Vanessa announced.

"I'm so fired up now! Quilava, turn up the heat even more!" Flint called as he brought out his partner.

"Quilava!"

"He's using his partner. I had a feeling he would do that." Davis said.

"Okay, I'm ready." Imperialdramon said as he was ready to join the battle.

"No. I want to save you for when we battle Ginger. I've got someone else that can do this." Davis said. "Cloyster, I choose you!"

"Cloyster!"

"Flint is going with Quilava while Davis is using Cloyster. Davis would normally have the advantage, but we just saw that type advantage isn't everything." Vanessa said.

"I'm ready to rock! Quilava, let's start things by using Swift!" Flint said.

"Quilava!" Quilava shot some stars at Cloyster, but Cloyster closed its shell and blocked the attack like it was nothing.

"Cloyster, Water Gun!" Davis ordered.

"Dodge it!" Flint said. Cloyster fired water, but Quilava kept moving around and avoided each shot thrown at it. "Now use Double-Edge!" Quilava charged right at Cloyster with it glowing yellow and getting ready to attack.

"Cloyster, use Ice beam right on the ground!" Davis ordered. Cloyster fired Ice Beam right in Quilava's path and froze the ground. When Quilava ran across it, Quilava ended up slipping and sliding around. "Cloyster, Ice Beam again! Freeze the whole field!" Cloyster used the attack again and ended up freezing the whole field. That made it difficult for Quilava to get back up.

"Cloyster has freeze the entire field, and it's becoming a real problem for Quilava." Vanessa claimed.

"Quilava are usually pretty swift. An icy field like this could be a problem." Cletus said.

"And since Cloyster doesn't move around that much, not to mention is an ice-type, Cloyster won't be bothered by it. Davis has complete control of this battle." Tetsu said.

"Not a bad tactic, Davis, but your ice can't hold up to this attack." Flint said as Davis didn't like the sound of that. "Use Stomping Tantrum!" Quilava started stomping against the ground with the ice shattering. When Quilava gave it one last good stomp with stone splinters being shot right at Cloyster and smashed right against them and knocked Cloyster down.

"Cloyster! Are you okay?!" Davis called with Cloyster still in this battle.

"That was a brilliant move there. Not only did Cloyster take some damage, but Quilava broke apart the icy field to make it easier to move around.

"Nice going, Quilava! Now use Flame Wheel!" Flint ordered. Quilava surrounded itself in flames and turned into a wheel as it went straight at Cloyster.

"Iron Defense!" Davis ordered. Cloyster closed its shell and endured as Quilava smashed against it.

"Don't let that stop you! Flame Wheel again!" Flint said. Quilava moved back so it could ram at Cloyster again.

"I don't think so! Use Ice Shard! Aim right in front of Quilava!" Davis said. Cloyster fired a shard of ice and it hit the ground with spikes of ice forming in front of Quilava. Quilava smashed against the ice and it was just enough to stop the attack. "Now use Water Gun!" Cloyster fired some water right at Quilava and blasted Quilava with it. Quilava seems to have taken some damage and was struggling to get back up.

"This doesn't look good for Flint and Quilava." Ginger said. "That looked like one powerful hit. Could this battle be over?"

"Come on, Quilava! Don't give up! I know you have it in you to keep fighting!" Flint encouraged. Quilava was struggling to stand, but didn't want to let its trainer down.

"I hate to call it early, but I think Davis has this battle won." Shade claimed.

"Hold on! Something's happening out there!" Nathan said as they all watched closely. Flint has felt like he's fallen behind lately, but it looks like his luck might be changing. Refusing to let its trainer down, Quilava awakened a power inside it and began glowing. Quilava was starting to evolve. Everyone was amazed this was happening now of all times. Quilava grew bigger and now stood in it's new form.

"Sion!"

"Oh my goodness! Quilava has actually evolved into Typhlosion!" Vanessa said.

"Oh man! It really did evolve!" Davis said as this could change the course of the battle.

Just as it seemed like Davis was about to win this battle, Flint's Quilava has now evolved into Typhlosion. Does this mean the battle has shifted into Flint's favor? The Junior Battle Masters Tournament is about to come to an end. You don't want to miss what will happen next.
