In the final round of the Junior Battle Masters Tournament, it was set to be Davis vs. Flint. It seemed like the wind was at our young hero's back as he used his Cloyster against Flint's Quilava. Davis had control of this battle and it seemed like it was his to win, but Quilava evolved in an unexpected turn of events and ended up becoming Typhlosion. Now that Flint's partner has reached it's fully evolved form, how will this battle turn out?

A new adventure, another day

One more challenge that comes our way

Pokemon

(Davis' voice) Fiery Explosion

"Typhlosion, the Volcano Pokemon. A fire-type, and the evolve form of Quilava. If Typhlosion's rage reaches it's peak, it holds the ability to burn anything it touches."

"This is so cool!" Flint cheered as he finished checking his pokedex. "You really evolved! You're finally a Typhlosion!"

"Ty!"

"Who would have seen that coming? Flint's Quilava evolved into Typhlosion now of all times!" Ginger said. "Now that Typhlosion has evolved, does this mean the battle is going to change in Flint's favor."

"It doesn't matter. As cool as it is, we're still winning this one. Cloyster, let's wrap this battle up by using Water Gun!" Davis ordered as he kept the battle going.

"Cloyster!" Cloyster shot water at Typhlosion, but Typhlosion kept moving around and avoided each shot that was thrown at it.

"Oh man! It's quick on its feet!" Davis said.

"Careful, Davis. We don't know what it's capable of now." Imperialdramon warned.

"Time to turn up the heat even more! Typhlosion, Flame Wheel!" Flint ordered. Typhlosion started rolling in a blazing fire and was heading straight for Cloyster.

"Stop it like you did before! Use Ice Shard!" Davis ordered. Cloyster used Ice Shard like it did before. It hit the ground and tried forming an obstacle, but it didn't work this time. Typhlosion smashed right through it and kept the attack going until it smashed right into Cloyster and did some damage.

"That Typhlosion is a lot more powerful!" Tetsu said.

"And I don't think Flint is going to fall for the same trick twice!" Cletus said.

"Typhlosion, grab Cloyster and throw it straight up!" Flint ordered. Tylphlosion grabbed a hold of Cloyster and gave it a cocky smirk just before throwing Cloyster up in the air. "Time to really turn up the heat! Typhlosion, use your brand new move! Eruption!"

"Typhlosion!" Typhlosion caused an intense blast of heat and fire to shoot straight into the air from its back. Cloyster got hit by the attack pretty hard.

"Cloyster!" Davis called as he tried to block the heat. Even if Cloyster is a water-type, that much power had to have done some real damage. When the attack cleared away, Cloyster came crashing on the ground and looked like a fried clam.

"Cloyster is unable to battle! Typhlosion wins and that means that Flint is the winner!" The ref declared.

"It's done! Flint is our winner this year!" Vanessa declared with everyone cheering. "As a mother, I'm so proud. Not only has Flint won, but he now has a chance to battle Ginger."

"We won... We won! Typhlosion!" Flint called as the two ran to each other and hugged each other so tight. "We really won! Thank you! Thank you!" Flint was feeling great that he actually won here. As for Davis, he cleared away the soot from Cloyster.

"Are you okay?" Davis asked. Cloyster seemed okay, but upset that it lost. "You did great. Get a good rest." He said as he brought Cloyster back in its pokeball. "Nice work out there, Flint."

"Thanks, Davis. I'm really glad this happened." Flint said as he was starting to feel good about himself again.

"We'll be taking a break there, giving Flint the chance to take some rest before battling Ginger. We'll be back soon." Vanessa announced.

...

The Pokemon Center

"Nurse Joy, please take good care of Typhlosion. Typhlosion is the won I want to battle with and I need to make sure it's in decent shape to battle." Flint said.

"I'll do what I can." Nurse Joy said as she took Typhlosion with her and made sure it was in good battle condition. Meanwhile, his friends hung back and talked about what was coming.

"I'm glad Flint won. It sounded like he was going through a bit of a rough time and really needed a win." Tetsu said.

"It's not everyday you get to battle someone like Ginger." Davis said. "I can't wait to see what happens with this battle, especially when Flint wins it."

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Tetsu claimed. "Ginger's specialty is with poison-types. That means Flint's got to be careful if his pokemon end up getting poisoned. I wonder if she'll be using Arbok in this battle. Doesn't she also use that Dynamax and Gigantamax that she told us about?"

"True, but she can't do that outside of the Galar region, at least not yet since her research involves figuring out how to do that." Cletus said.

"It doesn't matter. I'm just excited to see another great battle." Davis said.

"You can say that again. This is going to be awesome." Imperialdramon said as they were all looking forward to it.

...

The Arena

"We are back!" Vanessa announced as everyone was gathering for the battle they all have been waiting for. "Flint has been declared as our winner of this tournament. That means he's earned the right to battle one of the Elite Four. It's the battling scientist and genius herself: Ginger!" She announced as Ginger came out on the field. "With Flint as her opponent, we'll see if Flint really has what it takes to beat one of the Elite Four!" Flint ran out on the battlefield and it seemed like the crowd was with him.

"Win it, Flint!" Davis cheered.

"You got this!" Imperialdramon cheered.

"You really think Flint can beat Ginger?" Nathan questioned as he was getting excited.

"Maybe. We'll find out soon enough." Shade said.

"Flint, I would like to congratulate you for making it this far." Ginger said. "Understand that by beating me, it will truly prove your strength and you could become one of the Elite Four yourself if you wanted."

"Thanks. I'm so looking forward to this." Flint said.

"Well, let's not keep everyone waiting. Arbok, slither on out!" Ginger called as she unleashed her partner.

"Sharbok!"

"Typhlosion, turn up the heat!" Flint called as he brought out Typhlosion again.

"Typhlosion!"

"This battle is the same as the tournament. It's one-on-one with no time limit. You may begin when you are ready!" Vanessa announced.

"Let's do this, Typhlosion, and win it! We're taking down one of the Elite Four! Use Double-Edge!" Flint ordered. Typhlosion charged straight at Arbok at full power and glowed yellow.

"Arbok, Dig!" Ginger ordered. Arbok started burrowing underground and that cause Typhlosion's attack to miss.

"That's not good! If Typhlosion gets hit by that, it's going to cause a lot of damage!" Cletus warned.

"Get moving Typhlosion! Don't let Arbok catch you!" Flint ordered. Typhlosion tried moving around the field as best as it could to prevent Arbok from getting it. However, Arbok appeared right in front of Typhlosion and cut it off.

"Now use Poison Tail!" Ginger ordered. Arbok had poison flow through its tail and smashed it right against Typhlosion's head.

"Stomping Tantrum!" Flint ordered. Tyrantrum stomped right on the ground and shot splinters of rocks right at Arbok with them hitting and knocked Arbok back. He thought they had it, but Arbok was able to get back up. "Darn it."

"Don't assume you can always win it in one shot. Arbok, Wrap!" Ginger ordered. Arbok lunged itself at Typhlosion and wrapped itself around Typhlosion, putting the squeeze on Typhlosion. Typhlostion tried to get free, but Arbok's hold was just too strong.

"Blast it off with Eruption!" Flint called. Typhlosion tried using the attack, but Arbok kept its head back and just felt the heat.

"Typhlosion's Eruption doesn't appear to be working!" Vanessa said.

"Unreal! Arbok has positioned itself perfectly with it wrapped around Typhlosion!" Cletus said. "Arbok is positioned where Eruption can't reach it."

"Typhlosion can't curl its body to use Flame Wheel or attack with it's other moves." Tetsu said. "Arbok's positioned where Typhlosion can't do anything!"

"Come on, Typhlosion! Get it off!" Flint called, but nothing Typhlosion was doing was getting Arbok to let go.

"It wont' work. You need to know how to use your attacks in the most effective way possible. Battling is a science, a type of science a scientist like myself has learned well. Arbok, use Glare!" Ginger called. Arbok repositioned itself so it was staring right at Typhlosion and its eyes shined. When that happened, Typhlosion felt the kind of fear flowing through its body that prevents one from moving.

"Not good for Flint. Glare will leave Typhlosion paralyzed." Vanessa said.

"Poison Tail again and again!" Ginger said. Arbok took its tail and kept smacking Typhlosion around with it. All Typhlosion could do was take it, but it wasn't looking good. "Time to finish this. Arbok, Dig!" Arbok threw Typhlosion aside and started digging again.

"Move Typhlosion! Get out of there!" Flint called, but Typhlosion was still under the effects of Glare and was barely moving. Just then, Arbok emerged out of the ground and smashed right against Typhlosion with a lot of damage being dealt. It was enough to knock Typhlosion down and end the battle.

"Typhlosion is unable to battle!" The ref declared.

"And that is that. Ginger has won this battle." Vanessa claimed.

"Oh man. Ginger didn't waste anything." Davis said.

"Every move had purpose to it. No wonder she's one of the Elite Four. She battled brilliantly." Tetsu claimed.

"No kidding. Typhlosion didn't even get poisoned from those attacks. Instead of relying on poison as most poison-type specialists would, she paralyzed Typhlosion instead." Cletsu said. "Quite the effective tactic. It was unexpecting."

"Typhlosion, are you okay?" Flint asked as he helped out Typhlosion.

"Here." Ginger said as she handed over some berries. "These should help Typhlosion out." Flint took them and fed Typhlosion with it already starting to feel better. "You and your Typhlosion certainly are great together. I'm sure you'll do great things together."

"Thank you, Ginger." Flint said.

"And with that, the tournament is now over." Vanessa announced as the tournament was ending. All that was left was for Flint to be rewarded his trophy. Ginger handed it over to him herself with everyone cheering on his victory, and that marks the end of another fun tournament.

Later

Now that Flint has won and the tournament was over, it was time for our heroes to part ways with their friends and get ready to hit the road again.

"Nice going out there, Flint." Tetsu said.

"Thanks, guys. Of course, I still need to get one more badge to make it to the Centros League." Flint claimed. "That's why I'm gonna try to challenge Mom again. If Davis can beat her, I don't see why I can't. After that, I'm gonna win that."

"Don't be so sure about that. You just got a little lucky this time." Shade said.

"So, it looks like the next time we meet will be at the Centros League." Nathan said.

"You can count on it." Davis said as they were all looking forward to it. Agreeing to meet again, the rivals will meet again at the biggest competition. With all of them heading their own direction, Davis can't wait to see these guys again and have another battle with them.

Even though none of our heroes won the tournament, they still had a great time. As the Junior Battle Masters tournament is now over, the journey starts up again. The next stop will be the Centros League.

"Well, shall we get going to Yorker City?" Cletus said. All of them were ready to go.

"Hold on." Imperialdramon said as he spotted something. "What is that?" They all looked and could see something heading their way fast. It skidded to a stop and they saw it was a guy.

"Yeah! Made it!" The guy happened to have black hair that framed his face with tanned skin. He had on dark green shorts and a white shirt with him wearing a tropical red shirt. Sitting upon his shoulder was actually a Zorua. His strange entrance have Davis and the others wondering. Who is this guy?
