Our heroes are continuing on towards Yorker City for the Centros League. While they are on their way, they are about to experience quite a special moment.

"Joelle, I love you more than anything. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. As I stand here today, I want you to say yes." They all could hear someone talking when they didn't think anyone was around.

"Did you all hear that?" Tetsu questioned.

"It came from just behind those trees." Imperialdramon said. They were all rather curious as to what was going on. They looked through the trees and saw something a little bizarre. They spotted a guy that looked about to be in his twenties with brown hair framing his voice and wore a simple blue shirt and jeans. The thing was that he was on one knee with a ring in a box held in his hands. It looked and sounded like he was proposing.

"Joelle, please say you'll spend the rest of our lives together." The man claimed. The weird thing was that he was talking to a Sandslash.

"Is that guy proposing to a...pokemon?" Davis questioned as this seemed rather weird to them.

A new adventure, another day

One more challenge that comes our way

Its up to me and you

I know what we've got to do

We are together now

Friends forever now

Whatever comes our way, we won't run away

Standing tall

And one for all

It's our destiny

Pokemon

(Davis' voice) To Be or Not To Be Engaged

This was a strange sight for them. They tried to get a closer look at what was going on, but they ended up tripping and falling to the ground. That got the attention of the Sandslash and the guy.

"Uh... Hello..." Davis said as he wasn't sure what to say.

"Congratulations to you and Joelle here." Tetsu said. "I'm sure you and this Sandslash will be great together. A clear love and devotion to pokemon here."

"Uh... I think you people have the wrong idea. Joelle's the name of my girlfriend. I was just practicing for when I proposed to her." The man said.

"Oh... That makes more sense." Tetsu said as they felt a little embarrassed.

"Sorry about this." Davis said as they all got back up. "We were passing by when we overheard you talking. It looked like you were proposing to your Sandslash here."

"That probably looked a little weird." The guy laughed with his Sandslash. "My name is Marcos. This here is my partner Sandslash." Davis pulled out his pokedex and learned more about Sandslash.

"Sandslash, the Mouse Pokemon. A ground-type, and the evolve form of Sandshrew. The drier the area they live in, the smoother and harder the spikes on its back feel."

"Well, my name is Davis."

"I'm Imperialdramon."

"My name is Tetsu."

"And my name is Cletus."

"So, you're really planning to propose to your girlfriend?" Davis questioned.

"That's right. This is Joelle." Marcos said as he pulled out a photo of them and showed it was of him with a blonde girl with her hair tied back. "She's quite a girl. She's actually an actress at the local theater in town; and I'm planning to propose to her with this ring." He said as he showed the ring and it looked stunning

"Wow. That's quite the ring." Tetsu said.

"Thanks. It took a hundred tries, but I was able to craft it perfectly." Marcos said.

"You crafted it? You mean you made this yourself?" Cletus said as that was surprising to them.

"You see, I'm working to become a jeweler. I was able to craft this ring myself thanks to Sandslash. Sandslash is my partner in this and helps me carve the ring just right." Marcos said as they were all amazed that Marcos was able to do this himself. "I guess you can say Joelle is my precious jewel and I want to keep her in my life." He said with him blushing.

"This sounds great. What are you waiting for? Go pop the question." Tetsu said.

"I think I know how, but it's not going to be easy. She's rehearsing for a play today and I was planning to do it there, but there is one problem." Marcos said. "It's her co-star, Sander. I think he has a thing for Joelle, and I don't really like the guy."

"Don't worry about him. Just for go it." Davis said.

"Davis is right. This is about you and her." Cletus said.

"Sandslash!" Even Sandslash was encouraging Marcos to go through with it. Marcos was feeling good about this and thinks he is ready.

...

The Theater

Wanting to help out Marcos and see this proposal through, they all went with Marcos to the theater in town. Joelle stood up on stage and was dressed like a princess in a pink dress.

"Okay, Joelle. In this scene, you are longing to see the prince once again." The director said.

"Got it." Joelle said.

"Xander! Where are you?! Get out on the stage!" The director called. Sander was in his dressing room and was getting himself ready. Sander had short brown hair with muscles, but everything about him was practically saying obnoxious.

"Being a prince is fit for me." Sander said as he checked himself in the mirror and liked what he saw. He was about to go on stage and leave his dressing room, but he saw the door was stuck and wouldn't open up. "Hey! Open the door!" Imperialdramon was really holding it back so he wouldn't interfere.

"Is this really a good idea?" Imperialdramon said.

"It is." Marcos said as he dressed himself as the prince and put on a silver wig with a tail tied back. "I go on pretending to be the prince, but once she sees it's me...I'll ask her."

"You've got this." Davis encouraged. Marcos surely hoped that he does. He made his way to the stage just as rehearsal was about to begin with Sandslash and the others watching. As rehearsal started, Joelle acted like the princess of this play who wanted to see her love.

"My dear prince... Where for art thou? How I longed to see you once again." Joelle acted and she was good. That was right when Marcos came out on the stage dressed as the prince, but everyone thought that was Sander. "You're here! My prince!" She called as she ran to him, but she got a good look at his face and saw it was Marcos. "Marcos?!"

"Cut! That's not the line!" The director shouted.

"I'm sorry. It's just my boyfriend. Marcos, what are you doing here? We're in the middle of rehearsal?" Joelle claimed.

"I know, and I'm sorry for interrupting." Marcos said as he was rather nervous with his heart beating like a drum. "It's just that there's something I wish to ask you. I thought this would be a great way to do so."

"What do you mean?" Joelle asked.

"It's... It's that..." Marcos was going to do it as he reached for the box, but he was too nervous. Just as he grabbed the box, it slipped right out of the hands and bounced against the stage. "Oh no!" They all didn't like this as the box actually rolled off the stage with Sandslash going after it. It already became a mess.

"Enough! We are in the middle of making art and you are interfering with it!" The director shouted.

"That's not all!" They were surprised to see Sander was out with him pushing Davis and the others on the stage. "These roughians locked me in my dressing room and tried to keep me from taking my rightful place on stage."

"Imperialdramon! You were suppose to keep him off the stage!" Davis said.

"Some stagehands spotted me and forced me to move!" Imperialdramon claimed.

"Uh... Marcos, I don't know what's going on, but can this wait until later. We have work to do." Joelle said.

"Enough! You all are ruining our rehearsal! Off the stage! Off!" The director ordered as some of the stage hands were ushering all of them off the stage with Marcos and the others being shooed away.

...

Outside

"Well, what's plan B?" Davis questioned as they all sat outside the theater with Marcos beating himself up for failing to propose. He never even managed to get out the words.

"Maybe I should wait until she's done." Marcos said with Sandslash trying to comfort him. "Although, I'm a little worried. There's a big romantic scene in this play that they're going to rehearse."

"Between Joelle and Sander, I assume." Cletus said.

"That's all the more reason you need to get back in there and give her that ring!" Davis encouraged.

"Davis is right. Let's get back in there, get on that stage, and..." Tetsu opened up the backdoor and was about to go inside when he spotted Sander and overheard him talking.

"I swear, I do not understand what the likes of Joelle sees in that Marcos. She should be with a real man." Sander said as people were working on his appearance. "She should be with a star like me, and that's going to happen." Tetsu saw him reach for breath spray and shot it in his mouth. "Once I woo her with this romance scene, she'll see I'm the better man."

"Unbelievable!" Tetsu said. "Hey, guys." He said as he got his friends and whispered to them. "That creep, Sander, really is trying to steal Joelle from Marcos."

"Say what?! We can't let that happen!" Davis said. "We got to make sure this marriage proposal pulls through!"

"But what do we do?" Cletus questioned.

"By making sure the big romance scene is a bust. Let's just say there's going to be some intermissions." Davis said. "Tetsu and I will take care of that. Cletus, try to give Marcos the courage he needs to make the proposal." All of them agreed to that and will make sure Marcos gives that proposal.

"Sandslash, come with us. We might need your help with something." Tetsu said.

"For what?" Marcos questioned.

"Don't worry about it. We'll just make sure everything goes well." Davis said as he, Tetsu, and Sandslash ran back inside.

"What's going on?" Marcos questioned.

"Don't worry about that." Imperialdramon said.

"Let's talk about how you're going to propose again." Cletus said as they were doing their part.

...

The Stage

"Places, everyone! Places!" The director called as they continued with rehearsal. "We are now practicing the romance scene where the prince will climb up to the princess, declare their love, and it's smoochy time. Of course, let's try to preserve the magic until opening night. No direct contact."

"That's what you think." Sander mumbled as he used more breath spray as he plans to sneak a kiss. No way Davis and the others are going to let that happen.

"Okay, Growlithe. I'm going to need you." Davis told Growlithe while staying hidden. "I want you to use Agility to trip that guy up, but make sure you don't get caught."

"Growl."

"Action!" The director called.

"My fair princess!" Sander called as he stood on a stage and Joelle was on a balcony. "I have come for you for I could not stay away. Your beauty radiates likes the sun, shines more than the moon, and all the flowers in the world pale in comparison to you."

"Now Growlithe." Davis said as Growlithe used Agility.

"My dear... How I..." As Sander tried moving closer to the balcony to climb up it, Growlithe ran around the field and kept using Agility and ran around the field. It caused Sander to lose his balance and fall right on his butt. "What was that?"

"I'm not sure. It was too fast." Joelle said with Davis quite pleased with Growlithe.

"Just keep going!" The director called and they continued on with rehearsal.

"My dear... How I have waited to find someone like you." Sander acted as he tried climbing up the balcony. "Together we can do so much..." He didn't finish his line as Sandslash pierced its claws right through the set around where Sander was until Sander fell right off.

"I can see why you're Marcos' partner. Those claws are perfect for crafting and engraving." Tetsu said.

"What is going on?!" The director shouted as he was fed up with the interruptions.

"Something attacked me and destroyed the set!" Sander shouted. Joelle thought something was going on and had a look herself.

"Nice work, Sandslash." Tetsu said. "We just got keep this up a little while longer."

"Keep what up? Sandslash, what do you think you're doing?" They all looked up and saw that Joelle caught them and they felt like they were in trouble now.

"Oh boy..." Davis said as he and Growlithe spotted they were in trouble...and they were in trouble themselves as they saw a couple shadows come over them. They looked and saw two large stagehands standing right over them. So much for being discreet. Once they were caught, they were all brought to the stage.

"What is the meaning of this?!" The director shouted.

"These are the same scoundrels that were with Marcos and attempted to ruin rehearsal earlier!" Sander said. "Joelle, I don't understand why you are with the likes of these people. You deserve much better."

"I don't even know these people. I never met them before today." Joelle said.

"But your so-called boyfriend clearly does." Sander said as he put his arm around her and tried talking her into dumping him. "Are you sure you wish to stay with someone like that?"

"Joelle, wait!" Tetsu said as they had to do something fast. "Don't blame Marcos for this. We overheard Sander say how he wants to steal you away from him."

"Marcos did all of this because he has something special for you." Davis claimed.

"Something special?" Joelle questioned.

"That's right, Joelle." All of them looked and saw Marcos and the others coming on stage.

"You dare show yourself around here?" Sander said, but Joelle just brushed him aside.

"Marcos, what is going on?" Joelle asked.

"I'm sorry about before, Joelle. I was trying to do something special, but I was too nervous. Then, everything just started to go off track." Marcos said as he stood with her. "I want to give you...this." He said as he showed her the ring with Joelle amazed by it. "I made it myself. It took me so long with help from Sandslash to get it just right." He said as he remembered how hard he worked and how Sandslash's claws were real helpful in getting the ring the right size and shape. "The whole thing earlier was so I could do this. Joelle..." He said as he dropped down on one knee. "Will you marry me?"

"Yes! Yes, of course I'll marry you!" Joelle shouted as she dived right into his arms. Everyone just cheered for them as this moment seemed perfect instead of just being staged.

"What?! What is this?!" Sander shouted. "Joelle, you can't marry the likes of him!" He was about to intervene, but Sandslash stood in his way and just waved one claw near him. "Aw! Mommy!" He cried like a little baby, but even that couldn't ruined this moment.

...

Later

"Thank you for witnessing this, and for trying to help with my proposal." Marcos said as everyone was going to part ways. "I'm not sure how I would have done this without your help. I was just so nervous and tried to figure out how to do it right."

"You would have found a way. I would have said yes regardless." Joelle claimed as she stared down at her new right. "The fact that you made this ring yourself means so much. You could have just bought me a fancy one like most men, but you made this one yourself. It means so much to me."

"Yeah, but there was also Sander. He's always been trying to steal you from me." Marcos said.

"And he would have failed every time." Joelle assured.

"Love to stick around for the wedding, but we got to get going." Davis said.

"I hope we didn't cause any trouble for you and your play, Joelle." Tetsu said.

"You didn't." Joelle claimed. "I'm just going to let my understudy take things from here. This play is suppose to be a romantic one, but I don't feel comfortable doing it now that I'm an engaged woman."

"We wish you both the best of luck." Cletus said.

"Take care." Imperialdramon said as they all hit the road once again.

"Bye, and thanks again!" Marcos called as he, Joelle, and Sandslashed waved goodbye.

After helping out with a proposal and bringing two lovebirds together, our heroes hit the road once again. There'll be many more special moments to come, and you don't want to miss any of them.
