Our heroes are moving closer and closer to Yorker City for the upcoming Centros League. It seems like there's nothing that can stop them now.
"Oh yeah! I can feel it! We're almost there!" Davis said.
"You're right. It won't be long now." Cletus said as he checked the map.
"Ha. My sisters are going to be jealous when they heard I was there. They've been wanting to visit Yorker City for a long time now." Tetsu said as they were all rather excited about what's to come.
"We might be getting close, but I think we should stop in the town just ahead so that our pokemon are well rested and we can stock up on some supplies." Cletus suggested. "We might be close, but we still got some ways to go before we reach Yorker City."
"Sounds like a good idea. We've been walking for hours." Tetsu said as he looked at the upcoming town. "I can't wait to have some nice cool..." He stopped when he saw the sunlight reflected off of something and it looked just like a large ball of... "Water?"
A new adventure, another day
One more challenge that comes our way
Its up to me and you
I know what we've got to do
We are together now
Friends forever now
Whatever comes our way, we won't run away
Standing tall
And one for all
It's our destiny
Pokemon
(Davis' voice) An Aquatic Connection
All of them spotted something rather strange in the upcoming town. They all got a closer look and saw it really was water floating in the air. There was some sort of performance going on in the water as they noticed a crowd.
"What the heck is going on?" Davis said.
"How is there water floating in the air?" Imperialdramon questioned.
"Never mind the water. Take a look on what's inside." Tetsu said as he spotted something. They all had a look and saw a girl in there with her wearing a blue and green suit for the water with her having brown hair with highlights tied back. She was dancing around in the water with a Huntail and Gorebyss staying close by with a few other water pokemon. It looked like they were all dancing and performing. They crowd certainly loved it.
"I get it. It's a performance, and she seems really good." Cletus said.
"But how is the water floating in the air like that? I like to know that." Davis said.
"Wait. I think I see. Look up, just outside the water." Imperialdramon said as he spotted something. They all looked and saw Beautifly just outside the water. Not only were they spreading glitter everywhere, but they were the ones responsible for holding the water in place.
"I get it now! The Beautifly are using Psychic to manipulate the water!" Cletus said.
"This girl is pretty good." Tetsu said as he watched the performance go on. The girl danced with her two pokemon while others like a group of Remoraid swam around it. The way the group interacted with those three looked like it was fun and quite playful. The big finish was coming up as a some Chinchou stepped out from the ground and shined some light right on the water. It caused rainbow lights to shine right through as the girl and her pokemon all posed for the crowd. It looked like the big finish as the water burst and a gentle rain came down around the crowd with the girl and her pokemon landing on the street. Everyone clearly loved it.
"That looked really cool." Davis said.
"Yeah... It was almost like I was watching my sisters perform." Tetsu said as he was most impressed with the performance.
"Good work everyone." The girl said as she gathered her stuff together and made sure her pokemon got fed.
"Hey." Tetsu said as he went over to talk to the girl with the others following.
"Can I help you?" The girl asked.
"That performance looked rather great." Tetsu said. "I was only able to see the ending, but it looked like you and your pokemon were having a lot of fun. Your pokemon acted like they were in their natural habitat. Not to mention the ending looked rather...beautiful."
"Oh, thank you. I take it you know a thing or two about that stuff?" The girl asked.
"Sort of. Water-types are my specialty and my sisters are performers themselves in Floriba City." Tetsu said.
"Floriba City?!" The girl said as that seemed to have caught her interest. "Are you talking about the Floriba Sisters, Nami and Navy?!"
"Yeah. Those two are my older sisters. You know them?" Tetsu questioned.
"Sort of. I went to Floriba City and seeing those two perform is what inspired me to become this." The girl said.
"I see. My name is Tetsu."
"Hey. Don't forget about us. My name is Davis."
"I'm Imperialdramon."
"And my name is Cletus."
"Hi. My name is Marina. You've met my pokemon, especially my dancing partners: Huntail and Gorebyss."
"Huntail..."
"Gorebyss!"
"A Huntail and a Gorebyss..." Davis said as he pulled out his pokedex.
"Huntail, the Deep Sea Pokemon. A water-type, and the evolve form of Clamperl. It uses it's fish-shaped tail to lure in it's prety."
"Gorebyss, the South Sea Pokemon. A water-type, and the evolve form of Clamperl. It lives near the bottom of seas. When its springtime, it's pink body becomes more vivid."
"They both evolve from Clamperl?" Davis questioned.
"That's right. They both evolve from Clamperl, usually when you trade them when holding a deep sea tooth for Huntail or a deep sea scale for Gorebyss." Cletus claimed.
"I was a fan of your sisters, and I went to talk to them after their show because I wanted to know how to become an aquatic performer like them." Marina said. "Since then, I've been going around and I've been looking for inspiration and ideas to put on my own performance, which you just saw."
"Wow. My sisters were actually helpful towards someone." Tetsu said.
"Although, they didn't mention having a brother." Marina said with Tetsu feeling like a rock hit him in the head. "Hold on. They did!" That got him feeling better. "They said you act like a know-it-all who doesn't know how to have fun." Now he feels like a boulder crashed on his head.
"That's because I'm trying to take care of the gym because they don't want to get their perfect manicured nails ruined." Tetsu complained.
"Those three have a bit of a complexed relationship." Cletus said.
"All older sisters are a pain if you ask me." Davis said as he spoke from experience.
"Well, I'm glad I got to meet you, Tetsu. You guys want to hang out for a bit. I've got some time before my next performance." Marina said.
"We shouldn't. We need to..." Yeah. That sounds great. We needed a place to rest for a while anyway." Tetsu interrupted Davis. Tetsu is acting a little strange. All of them stuck around at Marina's trailer and Tetsu seemed to be having a nice time with Marina.
"You stay in a trailer? How do you get this thing to move?" Tetsu questioned as the two of them were up on the roof.
"Oh, I've got a couple strong pokemon that pull it around to make it easier to go from one town to the next." Marina said as she was sprinkling some glitter on her Beautifly.
"What's all that glitter for?" Tetsu questioned.
"It helps with the appeal. You saw glitter falling off of Beautifly's wings before. It adds to the show while the Beautifly are holding the water up with Psychic." Marina said. "Take a look." She said as she released Beautifly and it started flying around with glitter getting everywhere.
"Awesome!" Tetsu said. "I was never really interested in this kind of thing before since my sisters tend to be annoying with it, but it's rather impressive with you."
"Thanks. I guess you just got bored with it, but you're seeing it done differently." Marina said.
"What I find impressive is that you were able to do all of this yourself." Tetsu said.
"It's not easy. Takes a lot of work. That's why I captured so many pokemon to help me out." Marina claimed. Tetsu certainly thought it was impressive, and this wasn't going unnoticed by the others.
"Tetsu seems to be really interested in Marina's work." Tetsu said.
"I don't think it's the performance Tetsu likes. I say he's a big fan of Marina." Davis said as he was so smug about it. Cletus took a moment before he realized what Davis meant.
"You think Tetsu... Ooh-la-la!" Cletus said.
"So, if you're the one who works the gym, how come you're out traveling?" Marina asked.
"I'm working on becoming a better gym leader since I actually care about the gym." Tetsu said.
"I see...and you love water-types." Marina said as she hopped off her trailer and went down to a pool that Gorebyss and Huntail relaxed in. "I love water-types myself." She said as Tetsu followed after her. "Especially Huntail and Gorebyss here. These two are the main attractions of the show. They're all just majestic and amazing. Huntail and Gorebyss here were my first pokemon. I knew that the two of them together would make a great duo."
"Huntail!"
"Gorebyss!"
"I know what you mean, but how come you love to perform?" Tetsu asked.
"I love seeing the looks on people's faces. It sort of brightens their mood. It's not just simply because I love doing it." Marina said. "I want everyone to see what I see in water-types."
"Really?" Tetsu questioned as it had him do some thinking. "I wonder if that's how my sisters feel. I just thought they would want to be famous." This meeting is having him think that maybe he might have misjudged his sisters. Either way, he certainly likes how Marina sees things. "Maybe this sort of thing isn't so bad after all."
"What do you mean?" Marina questioned.
"I always got annoyed with my sisters when they do this sort of thing. It was like they didn't really care much for anything else. Maybe now I'm starting to see it a little differently." Tetsu said.
"Have you ever really tried being in a water show?" Marina questioned. "I'm doing another one today. I could put you in it."
"Me? No. I'm not really a performer." Tetsu said.
"Really? I think you might be more than you think. Stick around for the show." Marina said. Tetsu never has been one for performing like his sisters, but he does think that Marina's show might be interesting.
...
Later
"Come on! The show is starting again!" Davis said as they all couldn't wait to see Marina's show starting up again. The crowd gathered and they all wanted to see how this turned around.
"Thank you all for coming! We hope you all enjoy the show!" Marina said. "Everyone, Water Gun! Beautifly, Psychic!" All of her water pokemon shot water in one spot and converged on one spot. Once that happened, the Beautifly used Psychic and expanded the water into one big bubble. Once it was the right size, Marina dived straight inside with Gorebyss and Huntail following. They all swam straight up as Marina twirled around with her two pokemon circling around her. That was when the Remoraid joined in as they swam around. As Huntail and Gorebyss swam around and danced with each other, Marina made it look like she was guiding the Remoraid around.
"Amazing!" Davis said.
"You can say that again." Imperialdramon said.
"She's doing a fantastic job. She looks like a conductor and guiding the Remoraid around." Cletsu said with Tetsu impressed with this. Then, the Chinchou joined in the water and shined their lights. The Chinchou swam around and made a series of shapes with their lights.
"Amazing..." Tetsu said as he was a little mesmerized by it and walked a little closer.
"Tetsu, I don't think we're suppose to get so close!" Cletus called, but Tetsu wasn't listening. Marina saw this and decided to use this. She swam down to the bottom and grabbed a hold of him, pulling him straight into the water with her. That certainly snapped him out of it. Now, he was a part of the show. He just went with it as Huntail and Gorebyss came around. They grabbed on to the pokemon and started swimming with them. That was when it got real interesting. The Beautifly manipulated the water into different shapes with the pokemon inside tracing them and the Chinchou lighting the outline. First, the shaped it into an S. Then, they shaped it into a ring. The timing and movement of everyone pokemon inside was perfect and everyone loved it. Tetsu never got the appeal with his sisters, but he certainly loves it now. Soon, the big finish came as the water took a different shape with Marina grabbing Tetsu's hand and they swam straight near the top. There, they just swam right there and waved out to the crowd with the pokemon just staying still. They made it look spectacular.
"That was incredible!" Imperialdramon said.
"You think. Just take a look at the shape the water is in." Davis said as they all took notice the water was in the shape of a heart now with Marina and Tetsu right at the dent.
...
Later
"That was a great show. You're really talented Marina." Davis said.
"Thanks. Well, I'm off to the next town." Marina said. "I think I'm also going to head over to Floriba City and meet up with your sisters, Tetsu."
"I have to admit that I never saw myself up there like that, but I really did enjoy it. Althought, I'm more focused on being a gym leader than some water ballerina or whatever you call yourself. I'm sure they would like to perform with you." Tetsu said. "They've got tons of pokemon that would be great for your shows. Seeing this has also given me a few ideas how I can become a better gym leader. The way you commanded your pokemon and they followed you shows a deep trust in you, a trust that I like to have with my pokemon."
"That all sounds great. I'm also going to tell them that they're lucky to have a sweet little brother that's also cute." Marina said.
"Huh?! You think I'm..." Tetsu said as his face started turning red.
"I'll see you guys around." Marina said as she got in her trailer and had a couple Tauros pull her trailer. They all saw her off and they surely won't forget what they witnessed.
"So?" Davis teased with a grin on his face. "Looks like you got yourself a fan. Did you tell her what you really think of her?"
"Shut up!" Tetsu called in embarrassment. "Come on. Let's just hit the road." He said as he started marching, but the guys couldn't stop chuckling at Tetsu's situation.
We tend to misjudge things and think we don't like them. Then, we learn that we actually do once we try them. For Tetsu, he seems to have gotten new respect for what his sisters do. Now, it's off to the Centros League where the biggest show is sure to take place.
