As the Centros League continues on, Davis has made his way into the top eight. His next opponent is the fiery and passionate Flint. With a battle between two passionate trainers about to commence, this is sure to be quite an exhilarating battle.
"Mightyena, Iron Tail! Galvantula, Poison Jab!" Davis called as he was doing some training with his pokemon before his big battle with Flint. The two of them clashed their attacks against each other and were looking good.
"Your pokemon are doing great. It also looks like you'll have a few tricks for Flint." Cletus said.
"But Flint is a fire-type user. If you really plan to use your pokemon you caught here in Centros, what about Galvantual and Venomoth?" Tetsu questioned. "They'll be at a big disadvantage."
"Don't worry about that." Davis said. "Flint better watch out. We're all fired up now." His pokemon certainly agreed with that.

Davis wasn't the only one excited for the upcoming battle. Flint stood in an empty stadium and can just imagine the kind of battle he's going to have against Davis. It's getting him fired up as well.
"I can't wait. Tomorrow is going to be a big battle against Davis. This is going to rock." Flint said. With two trainers like this about to face each other, there's no telling what kind of battling is about to go on.

(Davis' voice) An Ignited Battle
"Welcome back everyone as we begin with our top eight trainers battling against each other." Everyone gathered to watch the battles again as they were about to start with Nathan and Shade watching with Tetsu and Cletus. "Our battle is now going to be between Flint and Davis." Both of them came out on the field and felt ready for this with Imperialdramon walking along with Davis. "It's going to be a full battle with the field being different each time. This battle is going to take place on a rock battlefield." The field opened up and changed with a rocky terrain appearing. "Now, we wait to see what pokemon they'll be using."
"Davis, you better not hold anything back." Flint said.
"When have you known me to do that?!" Davis said.
"Let's get this party started! Torkoal, you're first!" Flint called.
"Torkoal!"
"Being a fire-type user, Flint starts with Torkoal. What pokemon will Davis use?"
"Venomoth, I choose you!" Davis called.
"Venomoth!"
"An interesting choice. A bug-type going against a fire-type."
"Venomoth? Davis, you know Venomoth is at a big disadvantage with fire-types." Flint said. "I don't know what you're thinking, but I can't wait to find out."
"Let's not wait around. Venomoth, Psybeam!" Davis said as he started this battle. Venomoth attacked by shooting the beam from its eyes.
"Withdraw!" Flint called as Torkoal ducked inside its shell and blocked out the attack with its defense power rising.
"And Torkoal uses Withdraw not to just block Psybeam, but also increases defense power."
"Dont' let that stop you! Use Gust!" Davis called. Venomoth started flapping its wings and picked a gust with it blowing against Torkoal, but Torkoal appeared to be enduring the attack.
"Go, Torkoal! Flamethrower now!" Flint ordered. Torkoal tried to fight back by using Flamethrower, but Venomoth moved out of the way.
"Flamethrower misses! That would have been quite effective!"
"Keep your distance from the flames! Psybeam again!" Davis called. Venomoth fired the beam again, but Torkoal blocked it out with its shell again. "Attacking from a distance isn't going to work! Get in close!" Venomoth bravely tried moving in closer to Torkoal.
"Big mistake, Davis! Flamethrower!" Flint called. Torkoal kept shooting flames, but Venomoth seemed to be doing a well job of dodging.
"Venomoth dodges all of those flames, but how long can it keep it up?"
"One good hit from a fire-type move and it could all be over." Cletus said.
"So what's Davis thinking of using a bug-type?" Shade said as they all watched carefully.
"Let's switch it up! Rapid Spin!" Flint called. Torkoal started spinning around and was able to smash itself against Venomoth.
"Now I have you! Poison Powder!" Davis called. Venomoth was able to release some of the poisonous powder that fell all around Torkoal and poisoned it with Torkoal starting to lose energy.
"Poison Powder hits Torkoal! That could be a problem."
"Was that your plan? Just to use Poison Powder?" Flint said as he was a bit disappointed that was all Davis had.
"Not quite. I knew Venomoth would have a problem against your fire-types, so we learned a new attack that might help." Davis said. "Use Venoshock!" Venomoth shot globs of poison that splashed against Torkoal and was doing some real damage. Flint didn't expect that
"Of course! Venoshock does more damage when the opponent is poisoned!" Shade said.
"So that's what he was aiming for!" Nathan said.
"Venoshock, once again!" Davis called. Venomoth used the attack once more with Torkoal getting hit and it's body going numb that it couldn't stand anymore.
"Torkoal is unable to battle!"
"And the first win goes to Davis!"
"So that's what Davis had planned for the type disadvantage!" Tetsu said.
"Ingenuous, but I'm worried Flint won't fall for the same tricks twice." Cletus said.
"Torkoal, return. Don't worry about it." Flint said as he was switching his pokemon around. "Let's take this to the sky! Talonflame!"
"Talonflame!"
"Flint now brings out Talonflame! This could be more of a challenge to Venomoth!"
"That's not going to stop us! Venomoth, Gust!" Davis called. Venomoth battled either way as he started flapping his wings and unleashed the gust with it smashing against Talonflame, but Talonflame was able to endure the wind.
"Razor Wind!" Flint called. Talonflame used the attack and slashed right through the gust with it blasting Venomoth.
"Razor Wind tears right through the Gust! Venomoth could be in trouble here!"
"This is bad. Venomoth won't last long at this rate. We need to make our move now." Davis said. "Poison Powder!"
"Not this time! Brave Bird!" Flint called. Talonflame attacked before Venomoth could. Talonflame was surrounded by grand energy and flew straight at Venomoth. Venomoth tried spreading the powder, but Talonflame smashed into Venomoth before that could happen and was knocked right out of the sky.
"Talonflame is unable to battle!"
"That's it for Venomoth. Brave Bird strikes before Venomoth could attack."
"Venomoth, return. You did great." Davis said as Venomoth was brought back. "Galvantula, you're up next!"
"Galvantula!"
"Galvantula... That might be good." Cletus said. "Since electric-types are strong against flying-types, Davis can do some real damage."
"Yeah, but fire-types are strong against bug-types still." Nathan said.
"I guess we'll just have to see what kind of attacks the other uses." Shade said.
"Let's tie them up! Use Sticky Web so they don't give us too much trouble!" Davis ordered. Galvantula tried shooting globs of web, but Talonflame kept flying around and avoided each shot.
"Let's finish this quickly! Use Fire Blast!" Flint ordered with Talonflame firing an intense blast of fire.
"Use Electro Web!" Davis called. Galvantula shot its electrical web to counter. It did wrap around the attack and caused an explosion to go off that cancelled each other out.
"Who could have seen that coming?! Electro web just canceled out Fire Blast!"
"That won't stop us! Steel Wing!" Flint called. Talonflame flew straight through the smoke and smashed it's wings against Galvantula before flying away. "Now use Brave Bird!" Talonflame dived straight at Galvantula with it's best attack.
"Catch it with Electro Web!" Davis called. Galvantula's timing was perfect as it shot the web straight at Talonflame and it got caught in it with it being electrocuted.
"Talonflame flew straight into that Electro Web and is paying the price for it!"
"Now use Electro Ball!" Davis called. Galvantula blasted Talonflame with the electrical ball and blasted Talonflame and knocked it right out.
"Talonflame is unable to battle!"
"That's it! Flint lost it's second pokemon. What an effective way to use Electro Web and Electro Ball."
"Talonflame, return. You did great." Flint said as he brought Talonflame back. "Not bad, Davis. You really know how to turn it into your advantage, but I'm afraid it won't be that easy. Chandelure, let's turn it up!"
"Chandelure!"
"Flint's third pokemon is now Chandelure. Another fire-type that is also a ghost-type. How is Davis going to deal with this one?"
"He won't! Flame Burst, and keep them going!" Flint ordered. Chandelure fired a barrage of the same attack. They all blasted around Galvantula with the fire pelting against Galvantula and there's no escape.
"Galvantula is getting bombarded out there!" Tetsu said.
"There's nowhere for Galvantula to run!" Shade said.
"Fight back, Galvantula! Electro Ball!" Davis said. Galvantula tried to fight back and get the attack going.
"Now use Hex!" Flint called. Chandelure used its ghost-like powers to telekinetically move Galvantula. Galvantula tried to resist, but was sent flying and crashed right into a rock. It didn't look good. When the dust cleared away, Galvantula was knocked out.
"Galvantula is unable to battle!"
"It's tied up once again. Both sides are now down to four pokemon each."
"At least Davis doesn't have any other bug-type pokemon. Each of his remaining pokemon should hold their own against fire-types." Cletus said.
"Hopefully, it will be enough." Nathan said as Davis brought Galvantula back.
"No problem! I have just the pokemon to deal with Chandelure! Mightyena, let's go!" Davis called.
"Migh!"
"Davis is now going with Mightyena. A dark-type like Mightyena hold the advantage over a ghost-type like Chandelure."
"We'll win this in one shot! Dark Pulse!" Davis called. Mightyena used it's powerful attack, but Flint wasn't really worried about that.
"Protect!" Flint called. Chandelure formed a barrier around itself and was able to block the attack. Davis and Mightyena surely weren't expecting that. "Did you really think we wouldn't be prepared for a pokemon with the type advantage?"
"It looks like Flint pulled a fast one with Chandelure knowing Protect. That will be a helpful defense. How is Davis going to deal with that?"
"Watch carefully, Zorua." Keen said as he and Zorua were getting into the battle themselves. "Whoever wins here could be our next opponent."
"Now use Flame Burst!" Flint called. Chandelure kept firing attacks at Mightyena with Mightyena trying to endure the attacks.
"We won't back down! Get in there and use Iron Tail!" Davis called. Mightyena charged right at Chandelure. It jumped right at Chandelure and smashed it against Chandelure, but it looked like Chandelure shook it off. "It didn't look like it did that much. In that case, we'll use Howl!" Mightyena howled and gained even more power.
"Mightyena powers itself with Howl. What is Davis planning to do next?"
"How about losing?! Flame Burst!" Flint said. Chandelure fired away at Mightyena, but Mightyena kept running around the field and kept trying to avoid the attack.
"Got to make sure they can't use Protect again. Get in there with another Iron Tail!" Davis called. Mightyena charged right at Chandelure and was getting ready to attack once again.
"Now use Inferno!" Flint called. Chandelure unleashed a powerful blast of blue fire and blasted Mightyena.
"Ouch! Mightyena got blasted hard with Inferno!"
"Can you get up, Mightyena?!" Davis called. Mightyena tried getting back up after that attack, but Mightyena started to suffer from burning.
"There's Inferno's additional affect. Mightyena has been burned. It might not be able to battle much longer."
"That would be right now! Use Hex!" Flint called. Chandelure used Hex once again and Mightyena was sent flying through the field and smashed against a couple rocks with Mightyena being knocked out.
"Mightyena is unable to battle!"
"It looks like Flint has returned the favor from earlier as a ghost-type has now beaten a dark-type." Davis brought back Mightyena to its pokeball, but was actually happy rather than upset.
"You got me good there, Flint. I thought I had you with Mightyena, but I have no doubt I'll get you with this one." Davis said as he got his next pokemon ready. "Cloyster, let's go!"
"Cloyster!"
"Davis is finally bringing out his water-type, Cloyster, to battle against Flint's fire-types."
"You think we're not ready for water-types? I was expecting them." Flint claimed.
"That might, but we still have a few surprises. Watch this! Cloyster, Ice Shard! Give it a boost with Ice Beam!" Davis said. Cloyster formed a shard and shot it, but did consecutive attacks. Cloyster shot its own attack with Ice Beam and was making it bigger.
"Look at that! Ice Shard is growing in size from Ice Beam!"
"That won't help you! Use Protect!" Flint called. Chandelure formed the barrier once again and the shard just shattered against it. "Doesn't matter how big you make your attack when Protect blocks it out."
"I know, but I just needed you to use Protect, giving Cloyster a clear shot for it's new attack." Davis said and Flint didn't like the sound of that. "Use Chilling Water!" It was then Cloyster unleashed a new attack as a torrent of cold water shot out and blasted Chandelure. Flint certainly didn't expect that, and it looks like a lot of damage was dealt.
"Oh! Chandelure got hit by Chilling Water! That has to be freezing!" It was so cold that Chandelure was knocked right out of the battle from that attack.
"Chandelure is unable to battle!" The ref called.
"In just one strike with Chilling Water, Davis has even the field again."
"Having Cloyster learn Chilling Water was great for Davis!" Cletus said.
"Davis is really prepared for this battle. He keeps pulling one surprise after another, and times it all just right." Shade said.
"And there's still more fun to come since they both have three pokemon left." Tetsu said.
"I've got to admit that I'm having a blast, Davis." Flint said as this battle has just been one heated match after another. "I can't remember the last time I had a battle this got me so pumped."
"I aim to please. Going all-out is just how I like to do things." Davis said. "You really know how to turn up the heat, too. I'm almost upset that I'm gonna have to put that flame of yours out."
"Let's see if you're saying that once you see my next pokemon. Let's go, Magmortar!" Flint called as he brought out his next pokemon.
"Magmortar!"
"Magmortar! I say he's getting really serious now." Davis said as he knows what a tough pokemon that can be.
This battle between Davis and Flint escalates and will keep going. These two are going at each other with intensity and passion. Which of these passionate trainers will be the one that advances to the semi-finals? We'll see soon enough.
