Davis found himself in a difficult situation in his battle with Keen. Keen had the advantage over this battle, but Davis was able to regain control with them now having just one pokemon left: Imperialdramon and Zorua. It seemed like Davis was about to win, but that was when Zorua surprisingly evolved into Zoroark. With this surprising turn of events, is this battle shifting once again? We're about to see.
A new adventure, another day
One more challenge that comes our way
Its up to me and you
I know what we've got to do
We are together now
Friends forever now
Whatever comes our way, we won't run away
Standing tall
And one for all
It's our destiny
Pokemon
(Davis' voice): Closing Centros, Open Galore
"Ladies and gentleman, this is a surprising turn of events! Zorua has just now evolved into Zoroark!" Everyone was amazed that Zorua evolved just like that, but the timing could have been better. Davis was about to win, but this could change everything.
"This is awesome! We've been wanting to get you to evolve, and now you have!" Keen said.
"That's cool and everything, but it doesn't mean you're winning! Imperialdramon, let's finish this right here with Brick Break!" Davis called.
"You got it!" Imperialdramon said as he was aiming to end this.
"I don't think so! Use Night Daze!" Keen called. Zoroark smashed its claws against the ground and unleashed an explosion of darkness. It blasted against Imperialdramon and knocked him back.
"Night Daze blasts against Imperialdramon! That has got to hurt."
"What was that?" Tetsu questioned.
"Night Daze is the signature attack to Zorua and Zoroark. This isn't good." Cletus said. "Imperialdramon has already taken a lot of damage. I don't know how much he can endure. If this drags on, Imperialdramon won't be able to take much more."
"Now use Shadow Claw!" Keen called. Zoroark was moving fast and slashed against Imperialdramon.
"Come on, Imperialdramon! We have a chance to end this! Try Brick Break again!" Davis called with Imperialdramon tried attacking again.
"Night Daze!" Keen called. Zoroark used the attack again and blasted Imperialdramon again. Imperialdramon couldn't get through the attack and was blown away again. "Now use Copycat!" Zoroark copied the power of Imperialdramon's Brick Break and did what he did only to have the attack work against him.
"Night Daze knocks Imperialdramon away again! He can't get through!"
"Not good. I think I know what Keen is doing." Cletus said. "I think he's using Night Daze like a shield for when Imperialdramon close the distance."
"You're right. That's a powerful attack. Using it like a shield is quite effective." Shade said.
"There's got to be a way for Davis to get around it." Nathan said.
"Now use Dragon Pulse!" Davis called. Imperialdramon wasn't giving up as he kept fighting. He used the attack again. Zoroark tried dodging it, but the attack still landed near Zoroark with the shockwaves knocking it around.
"Zoroark avoided Dragon Pulse, but the impact of the attack still knocked Zoroark around." Zoroark was able to get back up, but both of them weren't looking so good. "It looks like both pokemon are running on fumes now. This battle could end at any moment."
"Nicely done, Davis. You've really made this a good battle, but I'm afraid this is where it ends. Zoroark and I have just enough power to do this." Keen said as he got one of his crystals ready and was going to use a Z-Move. Davis and Imperialdramon didn't like the looks of this.
"It looks like Keen is about to use a Z-Move!" Keen did the pose with Zoroark mimicking his movements.
"Fall into the blackness of a nightmare you can't awake from! Use Never-ending Nightmare!" Keen called with Zoroark unleashing an eerie power that covered the entire field with dark hands emerging out of the ground.
"Get out of there!" Davis shouted. Imperialdramon flew around as best as he could to avoid the attack, but it was everywhere with the dark hands trying to grapple him. Soon, one of the hands grabbed him by the leg.
"No!" Imperialdramon called. Soon, others came around him and was grabbing him down. There was no escape for him as so many dark hands came around him and completely covered him until an explosion went off. All of them watched for Imperialdramon and saw he was on the ground and wasn't moving now.
"Imperialdramon is unable to battle! All of Davis' pokemon are unable to battle, so the winner is Keen!" The ref declared.
"It's over and done! Keen will be advancing to the final round!" It was over. Keen won and Davis lost.
"Imperialdramon!" Davis called as he hurried over to him and tried to help him. "Are you okay?"
"Oh man... For a moment, it was so dark and silent." Imperialdramon said as he seemed a little spooked. Davis was glad he was going to be okay, but it's all over just like that. He looked up at the monitor and saw it was all really over for him. As upsetting as it was...he actually was okay with it. If he had to lose to anyone, he was glad it was to someone like Keen.
"That was a great battle, but we still got more to go through." Even though Davis lost, the Centros League must go on.
...
Davis
"Are they all going to be okay, Nurse Joy?" Davis asked as he was leaving all of his pokemon with her.
"Don't worry, Davis. They'll all be in good hands." Nurse Joy said as she took all of them with her.
"Davis!" Cletus called as he and Tetsu showed up.
"Are Imperialdramon and the others okay?" Tetsu asked.
"Yeah. They all should be fine since Nurse Joy has them." Davis said.
"What about you? After all that, it's all over now." Tetsu said.
"Actually, I'm okay." Davis said. They actually expected the opposite. "Sure, I wish I won that battle, but it was still a great one. After all, this isn't the first time I lost a big tournament like this one." They were both pleased with how mature Davis was being with this whole thing.
"That's the right attitude." Davis and the others looked and were met with Chase.
"Chase!" Davis said.
"I thought I find you here." Chase said. "I was hoping we could talk a little. I figured this would be the best time for you to answer my question from earlier. Now that the Centros League is over for you, what are you going to do now?"
"Uh... I'm not really sure. I didn't really think that far ahead." Davis said as he really isn't sure what he's going to do now.
"I might have a suggestion for you. It's right up your alley." Chase suggested. "Why don't you go and try out for Pokemon Grand Orientation."
"Pokemon Grand Orientation? What are you talking about?" Davis questioned.
"It's a fun event that takes place on an archipelago called the Galore Islands." Chase said.
"I've heard of them. They're a series of islands just outside of Centros." Cletus said.
"That's right. Truth be told, they got the idea to do this from the Orange Islands." Chase said. "Pokemon Grand Orientation is a fun event held on those islands. You travel from one island to the next and challenge these facilities that are similar to gyms. There are four of them in total. If you manage to pass the challenge they issue, you get a little pass designed after a gem called a Gem Pass. There's one for a ruby, a sapphire, a pearl, and a diamond. When you have all four passes, you can take on the head of Pokemon Grand Orientation. It might sound easy, but it's actually more difficult than you think. I tried it myself when I was your age and I had a lot of fun doing it."
"Wow. That actually does sound like it could be fun." Davis said.
"Island hopping? Sounds like it could be interesting." Tetsu said.
"You're right. Checking out the Galore Islands could be a lot of fun." Cletus said.
"It's certainly something you should think about trying." Chase said and it seems like it already caught Davis' interest.
...
The Next Day
"It's the final day of the Centros League as we are in our final battle. Keen seems to be in tough situation as he is down to his last pokemon, and he's not using his Zoroark in this one." Keen was struggling against his opponent and it wasn't looking good for him at all. All he had was his Persian, but his opponent was using Rhyperior. In one powerful strike with Take Down, Rhyperior beat Persian.
"Persian is unable to battle! The winner is Lacy!" The ref declared.
"It's done and over! The Centros League's new champion has been made! It's Lacy from Washingburg City!" It was all over and done. Keen lost, but it was still a great league.
"I can't believe Keen lost. That Lacy really knows how to raise her pokemon." Tetsu said.
"Might have gone different if Keen had Zoroark, but what can you do." Shade said. Now that the Centros League is over, Chase rewarded this Lacy with the trophy and she took it with pride as she raised it high in the sky and everyone cheered for the winner.
"And with Lacy being named our winner, we say goodbye to another exciting Centros League and we all hope you had a great time. In hopes to seeing you all again, this is farewell." The Centros League finally ended with the ceremonial torch being put out. The Centros League has ended.
...
Keen
Since the battle was over, Keen was hanging back and was just thinking about what has happened. It's upsetting he lost, but he wasn't going to let it get to him.
"Keen..." Keen looked behind him and saw Davis and his friends. "You doing okay? How's Zoroark?"
"Zoroark's okay. I wish I could have used him in my last battle, but Zoroak needed time to recover after our battle." Keen said. "It's upsetting that I lost when I came so close, but I'll be okay."
"It's too bad it's all over, but that's how the cookie crumbles." All of them looked and saw Nathan, Shade, and Flint all together. "Still, we're all in Yorker City. Why don't we hit some of the sweet spots. This city is huge. There's bound to be a lot more fun for us here." Nathan suggested.
"Sounds like a good idea. After a long journey, we all deserve some fun." Cletus said.
"What are you talking about? I don't know about the rest of you, but the journey has been fun for me." Shade said.
"So, what are all of you going to do now?" Tetsu questioned.
"I'm gonna head home. I might have lost the Centros League, but I'll still try to be a gym leader like my mom." Flint said.
"I think I'm gonna hit the road some more. There's still a lot to see and learn." Shade said.
"Just gonna do some traveling myself and see what more the world has to offer." Nathan said.
"What about you, Keen?" Imperialdramon asked.
"I think I'm gonna head back to Alola. Do some training, maybe try to clear more trials to get more Z-Crystals." Keen said. "If I made it this far because of that, I can try to get stronger and make it further next time."
"What about you, Davis? What are you going to do now?" Flint asked.
"Something Chase himself suggested I try." Davis said. "I'm gonna head over to the Galore Islands and try and take on this Pokemon Grand Orientation. Sounds like it could be a great adventure and that's one the reasons I got back in the swing of things. There's just one thing I want to ask each of you before we part ways." All of them were curious as to what that was. "The next time we meet...let's have a battle." That's certainly something they all agreed to. There was one more Davis hoped to battle when the time comes. He and Imperialdramon looked up and spotted Chase and Hydreigon. Chase was most pleased with the inspiring trainers, especially with Davis. As the two of them looked at each other, Davis just knew they'll battle each other one day.
Although the Centros League has come to an end, new adventures and plans are already being made. After having their night on the town, Davis and his friends will be heading out for something brand new. The journey isn't over just yet. There's still more fun and excitement to come.
