Our heroes are continuing on with their journey through the Galore Islands for Davis to compete in Pokemon Grand Orientation. At the moment, they've stopped at another island before heading to Masro Island. Davis is doing some training so he'll be ready for his next upcoming battle.

"Imperialdramon, Brick Break!" Davis called.

"Dodge it, Herdier!" Cletus called. Imperialdramon tried attacking Herdier, but Herdier moved out of the way and stood near the cliff of a cove they were training near. "Good work, Herdier. Keep up those swift movements."

"You'll need to be fast to outrun us! Dragon Pulse!" Davis called. Imperialdramon unleashed the dragon blast, but Herdier jumped out of the way with some rocks blasting off from the cliff. What none of them knew was that there was actually something in the water of the cove. Down under the water, there was actually a shrine. The rocks actually fell right on the shrine and out came a crystal-like ball with it glowing ominously.

"Both of you are looking good. Just be careful near that cliff." Tetsu claimed as they went on with their training.

"Stop! You all don't know what you're doing!" All of them heard the sound of an old man. All of them saw one with a long white beard hurrying as fast as he could with him carrying a wooden staff and a green cloak. "You all don't know what you're doing! You are disturbing this sacred ground and could unleash great evil!"

"Disturbing?" Davis questioned.

"Sacred ground?" Tetsu questioned.

"Great evil?" Cletus questioned.

"That's right! You could accidentally unleashed a great and mighty evil that has been sleeping for hundreds of years!" The old man claimed.

"Guys, I think we're dealing a senile old man." Imperialdramon whispered.

"Sir, we don't know what you're talking about. You mind slowing down and explaining to us what you mean?" Cletus asked. The old man took a moment and tried to calm down.

"You're all not from here, are you? Therefor, you don't know the legend of this island." The old man claimed.

"What legend? Who are you?" Tetsu asked.

"My name is Maru and I happen to be a sage."

"What are sages again?" Davis questioned.

"Mystically, they're like wizards. Realistically, they're basically philosophers." Tetsu said. "What is this legend you're talking about?"

"It happened many years ago on this very island." Maru said. "About a hundred years ago, a great and mighty evil came to this island. No one knew what it's purpose or goal was other than that it wanted to destroy everything. It left a path of destruction everywhere it went and it seemed like it couldn't be stopped, but that all changed. A sage that has mastered the mystical arts stood against the destroyer and was able to seal it away. The sage sealed the threat away in a crystal ball. Once he did that, he built a shrine and placed it underwater in hopes that the destroyer could rest peacefully and that the water, being a source of life and purity, would calm the savageness inside it. For a century, it has remained undisturbed."

"Wow... That's some story." Cletus said.

"And what you are doing here could disturb it! That very shrine happens to be in the water right below you!" Maru called.

"You mean in the cove?" Tetsu questioned. "That's an interesting story, but there's no way it's true. Come on. You think we're a bunch of suckers or something?"

"I assure you that what I say is the truth!" Maru insisted. "You must leave before it's too late!"

"Maybe we should go." Davis said.

"Come on. You're not really believing this are you?" Tetsu questioned. "There's just no way that it's..." Tetsu ended up jinxing them. Down in the water, the power sleeping down there awoke and the water burst as whatever it was that was sleeping has now waken up. All of them noticed the sudden explosion and watched closely as a giant shadowy figure was forming.

"Oh no! It's been released!" Maru shouted as they all couldn't. They all saw the face of the destroyer and it was actually a pokemon that towered over them.

"Dusknoir!"

"It's a Dusknoir!" Tetsu said.

"It can't be a Dusknoir! It's massive!" Cletus said.

"Is that a pokemon?" Davis questioned as he took out his pokedex and tried to learn more about it.'

"Dusknoir, the Gripper Pokemon. A ghost-type, and the evolve form of Dusclops. The antenna on its head allows it to receive messages from the spirit world, but it's unclear if this pokemon has a will of it's own."

"Oh no! You fools have no idea what you've done! You've awakened the great evil!" Maru called.

"So the destroyer in the story was that giant Dusknoir?!" Davis said.

"I can't believe that story is even true!" Tetsu said. It certainly appeared to be real. It was even more real as it used Night Shade and completely destroyed whatever was in the path of the attack. It's still in pursuit of its desire of destruction after so many years. Dusknoir began moving and was heading deeper into the island.

"If we do not do something, it will destroy the entire island and everything beyond that!" Maru said.

"Not good! There's a town on the other side!" Cletus said. "We've got to figure out how to stop it!"

"Well, it's still a pokemon! This should help!" Davis said as he threw a pokeball at it, but it just bounced right off of Dusknoir and nothing happened.

"No good! A regular pokeball isn't going to work against that thing!" Tetsu said.

"Imperialdramon, you try! Give that thing your Dragon Rush!" Davis said.

"I got it!" Imperialdramon said as he ignited himself with dragon power and flew straight at Dusknoir. It tried to attack Dusknoir, but Imperialdramon just bounced right off it. His best attack didn't do much of anything. "No way! Did it even feel that?!" That was when Dusknoir turned its head to him. It then used Psychic and caused Imperialdramon to plummet straight into the ground with a lot of damage dealt.

"Are you okay?!" Davis said.

"That thing is just too big! I don't think normal methods are going to work against it!" Cletus said.

"Well, we must think of something! If we don't do something, it will destroy everything!" Maru said. This was a serious situation. Knowing this is their fault, Davis and the others need to find a way to fix it before anything truly bad happens.

...

The Town

The giant Dusknoir continued to attack the forest as it caused destruction everywhere it went. It was soon going to reach the town on the other side and would destroy it as well as all the people inside. Knowing it needs to be stopped, Davis and the others hurried after.

"How are we going to stop that thing?!" Tetsu questioned.

"I'm not sure, but we need to think of something and fast!" Davis said.

"Well, I'm not convinced that Dusknoir is evil. It has to be doing this for a reason." Cletus said.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that. I've met a few messed up people in my life." Davis said.

"But if we can figure out why it's doing this, maybe we can use it to stop it." Cletus said.

"I suppose it's worth a try. Imperialdramon, you've got to try and get in front of that thing! Try and talk to it!" Davis said.

"I'll try!" Imperialdramon said as he flew out ahead and tried cutting it off. Thanks to his speed, Imperialdramon was able to pass Dusknoir and get in front of it's face. "Hold it right there!" He said as he got Dusknoir to stop. "What do you think you're doing?! Why are you doing this?!" Dusknoir tried speaking to Imperialdramon, but the look on Imperialdramon's face says it wasn't anything good.

"Well?! What's it saying?!" Davis called.

"It's no good! I can't understand a thing it's saying!" Imperialdramon called. That was when Dusknoir smacked Imperialdramon out of the way and continued its path of destruction.

"It's about to reach the town!" Tetsu said.

"What can we do to stop it?! Normal methods don't seem to work on this pokemon!" Cletus said.

"Maru, do you know anything we can try to stop it?!" Davis said.

"The sage that stood against the Dusknoir tried other attempts that none worked." Maru claimed. "The crystal ball he used to seal that destroyer away was the only thing that really worked against it."

"A crystal ball... Somewhere in the water..." Davis said as he thought it over. "I think I have an idea. Try and keep that Dusknoir from causing so much damage until I get back!" He said and just ran off in the other direction.

"Where are you going?! Davis!" Tetsu called, but Davis just kept running. Whatever it is Davis is thinking, they're just going to have to trust him with it.

...

Davis

Davis ran his way through the woods until he found himself back at the cove from where Dusknoir came from. If he's right, whatever it is he's looking for is down there. He just hopes he can find it. With a lot on the line, he took an actual leap of faith and dived off the cliff.

...

The Town

Dusknoir soon reached the town and was causing destruction everywhere. People were getting terrified and were running for their lives as Dusknoir was destroying everything. Doing what Davis says, his friends did what they could to try and stop it.

"Herdier, Shadow Ball! Grimer, Sludge!" Cletus called as he had both of his pokemon attack, but their attacks were just bouncing off of Dusknoir. "Nothing! Not even a scratch!"

"Feraligatr, try using your Surf attack!" Tetsu called as he took a turn. Feraligatr rode a wave and tried attacking Dusknoir as well, but even that attack didn't work. "Does anything work against that thing?! Not even Imperialdramon's Dragon Rush worked against it and that did nothing!"

"We have to keep trying until Davis gets back! We'll just have to trust that he can find something!" Imperialdramon said as he tried attacking with Focus Punch, but he just passed right through Dusknoir and ended up crashing into the ground.

"Did you really think that would work?! Dusknoir is a ghost-type!" Tetsu scolded, but he noticed Imperialdramon was a little spooked. "Are you okay?"

"Don't make me go in there again." Imperialdramon pleaded as he clearly saw something in there that scared him. Regardless, Dusknoir kept on attacking and nothing was working against it. If something isn't done soon, the whole town could be destroyed.

"I hate to say it, but I don't know what to do. Nothing is working against it, and it's acting like we're not even here." Cletus said as it was starting to seem like all hope was gone.

"Guys! I'm back!" Davis called as he hurried back and it seems like he got what he was looking for. They all saw in his hands that he had the crystal ball that Dusknoir was trapped in earlier.

"That's... That's the crystal ball!" Maru said as he was astonished Davis had it.

"Here goes nothing!" Davis called as he threw it like a pokeball. The ball flew straight at Dusknoir and caused something as a light shined against it. When that happened, Dusknoir turned into a shadow and every bit of it was being absorbed inside the crystal. They all couldn't believe it. Every bit of Dusknoir was pulled inside and it looked like it was sealed once again. Davis acted fast and caught it before it hit the ground so it wouldn't shatter. "Got it."

"Davis, what did you just do?!" Tetsu questioned.

"Is that the very same crystal ball that Maru told us about? The one from the story?" Cletus questioned.

"Amazing that you could use it! Do you perform mystic arts as well?!" Maru questioned.

"Not really... I just figured this thing was like a pokeball since Dusknoir was inside it all this time." Davis said. "So, I just simply returned it."

"I get it... That's pretty smart." Tetsu said. Simple yet elegant and effective.

"Very nicely done, but we still must return it to where it rested." Maru said as they still had some work to do.

...

Later

Once they got Dusknoir back in the crystal, they returned it to the shrine Dusknoir was in one before. With a little help from their water pokemon, they were able to rebuild the shrine and placed the crystal back in there for Dusknoir to remain resting once again.

"I'm glad that whole mess is over." Maru said. "Hopefully, the giant Dusknoir will not be disturbed again. If ever does awake, hopefully this sense of destruction it has will be no more."

"I'm starting to wonder if that thing even was a pokemon." Cletus said.

"No kidding. Where did something like that even come from?" Tetsu said.

"Who's to say for sure? Perhaps a day will come when we will understand that Dusknoir." Maru said.

"Let's just hope no one else bothers it." Davis said. "In the mean time, I think we should get back to heading for Masro Island before we accidently set that thing free again." He joked.

"Did you say Masro Island? You are in luck. That's Masro Island over there." Maru said as he pointed with his wooden staff and showed that Masro Island was the next one.

"That's Masro Island?! Perfect. I'll be getting that second pass in no time." Davis said as he was excited.

There are still many mysterious and legends in this great world of pokemon. Our heroes certainly witnessed that after meeting with the giant Dusknoir. Now, it's back to normalcy for them as Davis' next challenge is just moments away.
