Our heroes are continuing their travels through the Galore Islands for Davis' next challenge in Pokemon Grand Orientation. While they haven't made to Sepedo Island just yet, their next island adventure awaits them.

"Hey, what's that?" Cletus questioned as he noticed something heading towards the boat they were traveling on. All of them looked up and saw a Wingul. It landed down right in front of them and saw there was an envelope in it's beak.

"What's that Wingul got?" Davis questioned as he took the envelope and saw that it had Cletus written on it. "Cletus, it's addressed to you." He said as he handed him the letter.

"For me?" Cletus questioned as he took it and read it. "Dear Cletus... My name is Mika. Meet me at the lighthouse on Junada Island."

"Junada Island? That's the next island we're going to." Tetsu said.

"Is it a challenge? Do you recognize the name?" Davis questioned.

"No. I don't know who this Mika is. What could this be about?" Cletus questioned as he has no idea what this could be.

(Davis' voice) Date Unexpected

The boat they were on soon docked on the next island they were going to: Junada Island. That's where this Mika is suppose to be. Once they arrived, they went searching for the lighthouse they're suppose to meet this Mika at. They soon got there, but there was no sign of anyone else there.

"Anyone see anything?" Davis questioned.

"No. I don't even know who we should be looking for. Are you sure you never met this Mika before?" Tetsu questioned.

"No, never." Cletus said.

"Well, whoever she is should be here soon." Imperialdramon said.

"Whoa... Here comes someone." Tetsu said. All of them took a look and spotted a woman heading their way, a woman that men would not be able to stop staring at. "You think that's her?"

"No clue." Cletus said.

"If she is, you are one lucky man." Davis said. They thought it was her for a moment, but the woman kept on walking and acted like she didn't even see them. "That can't be her."

"Phanphy! All of them looked and saw a Phanphy talking to them.

"How cute. It's a Phanpy." Cletus said with Davis taking out his pokedex.

"Phanpy, the Long Nose Pokemon. A ground-type. Despite it's size, it's actually quite strong that can lift a human adult on its back."

"Uh... Cletus... Hi." All of them looked behind Phanpy and met another girl. She had on a blue dress, blue heels, a white scarf, and had blue pearl earrings. She also had brown hair that was tied back.

"Are you Mika?" Cletus questioned.

"I am." She said as she seemed a little nervous with her face turning red. "I see that my Wingul was able to get you my message."

"Uh... Do I know you?" Cletus questioned as he still didn't know her.

"Well, no... We never officially met, but I know about you." Mika said. "I contacted your gym and they told me where you were going and where I could find you."

"That explains how the letter got to us, but what do you want?" Davis questioned. "What did you all go through all this trouble for?"

"Uh... Well..." Mika said as she tried to bring up the courage to say it.

"Well? Speak up." Tetsu insisted. Even Phanphy was encouraging her to say what she needed to say.

"I was wondering if... If you would like to go out with me!" Mika said as she spoke what was on her mind. None of them were expecting that, Cletus most of all. "I watched some of your gym battles and thought you were incredible and amazing."

"That's it? You're a fan of his and you just want a date?" Davis questioned.

"Ye... Yes..." Mika said with her face all red and becoming nervous.

"I thought she wanted a battle." Tetsu said. "Well, what do you say Cletus? She does seem rather nice."

"I... I'm sorry. I can't." Cletus refused.

"Oh well. So sorry." Tetsu said.

"Please, Cletus. I think you're a real amazing gym leader. You have so many great pokemon, and you always seemed so kind." Mika said.

"Hey, what part of no did you not get?" Tetsu questioned.

"Come on, Cletus. She does seem nice and is pretty." Davis said. "What's so bad about going on one little date?" Neither of them seemed the harm in it, but Cletus wasn't exactly in a comfortable position. Just then, Krokorock itself emerged out of its pokeball.

"Krok..."

"Krokorock? What is it?" Cletus questioned. All of a sudden, Krokorock started chuckling like it was getting all giddy. "What are you laughing at?! Get in here!" He said as he brought Krokorock back to its pokeball. "I'm really sorry. I'm flattered, but I just can't." He tried being polite about it, but running away certainly didn't help and Mika was left disappointed. Not really the best way to handle this.

Cletus

Cletus ran down the road until he came across a bench. He sat there and was baffled about the whole thing. Krokorock certainly didn't agree with what he did back there by how it glared at its trainer.

"Don't look at me like that." Cletus said as he did feel rather guilty.

"Cletus!" Davis called as he and Imperialdramon came up to him. "What the heck was that? You just ran away from her? Not cool."

"I know, I know. I know I should have handled that a little better." Cletus said as he hated the way he acted. "I'm just no good in situations like this."

"What are you talking about?" Davis said. "When I challenged you to a gym battle, you had a lot of girls cheering for you. You're clearly catnip to the ladies, and one came all this way just to get a date with you. That's got to say something."

"Yeah... I've had plenty of girls come to my gym and see me battle, but I never dated any of them." Cletus said. "I'm just not interested in dating at the moment. I'm not really looking for a girlfriend. At the moment, I'm more interested in learning more about my pokemon and getting them stronger." He said as he petted Krokorock.

"Okay, but you need to do something. Do you really want to hurt Mika like that?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"No..." Cletus said as he knows he's got to do something to fix this.

The Lighthouse

"I'm really sorry about that." Tetsu said as he sat with Mika about what happened. "I'm sure Cletus didn't mean to do what he did. You just caught him off guard."

"But he didn't have to run off like that." Mika said as she was upset, but Phanpy tried comforting her.

"I'm just amazed you came all this way to ask Cletus out for a date. How did you know we would even be out here?" Tetsu questioned.

"Honestly, I've been wanting to go on a date with Cletus for a long time." Mika said. "I've wanted to say something, but I was always too nervous. When I thought I finally had the courage to do so, I went to his gym and they told me he was on his own journey. I asked where I might be able to find him and his family told me that he would be coming here."

"So you got here before we did and waited until Cletus would show." Tetsu said. "Impressive, but you surely had to have ready yourself for disappointment. Coming all this way just to get turned down would have been hard."

"I know, but I usually feel better thanks to Phanpy here." Mika said as she nuzzled up with her Phanpy. You could tell by looking at them that they were real close. "I know that when anything bad happens, I can always count on Phanpy to cheer me up."

"That's nice to know." Tetsu said.

"Uh... Mika..." All of them looked and saw Cletus came back and he clearly felt guilty about the whole thing. "Is it okay if we talk?" Cletus asked. Mika allowed it and the two of them stood facing the ocean and to talk in private. At least what's they thought because Davis and the others were really eavesdropping on them. "I'm really sorry about how I acted. You just caught me off guard and I didn't know what to think."

"It's okay..." Mika claimed, but it didn't sound believable.

"I really am flattered. I'm just not interested in dating at the moment." Cletus claimed. "What I do love are pokemon, and being on this journey." He said as he watched Krokorock play with Phanpy. "That's the kind of love I want at the moment, and I put that love out in my battling and the travels."

"So does that mean you never want a girlfriend?" Mika asked.

"Not never." Cletus claimed. "Maybe one day, but I'm just not interested in that at the moment. I rather focus and have fun on this journey. That's why I left the gym. I realized that I still got a lot to learn, and I want to see more of what is really out there. I want that more than a girlfriend at the moment."

"I guess I can understand that." Mika said as she did seem to get it, but Cletus still didn't feel so good.

"Still, I hate that you came all this way just to get turned down." Cletus said as he knew he had to do something. "Tell you what... I'll make you a deal. How about you and I have a battle?"

"A battle?" Mika questioned.

"If you win, I'll take you to dinner." Cletus offered with Mika surprised he would do that. "I should try to do something since it doesn't feel like your trip was a total waste." Mika liked the sound of that and that's what they're going to do. The two of them soon stood facing each other with them using Krokorock and Phanpy. "Okay, Mika. Show me what you got."

"You got it. Phanpy, start by using Rollout!" Mika called as Phanpy started rolling at great speed.

"Krokorock, dodge it with Dig!" Cletus called with Krokorock diving right into the ground and causing Phanpy's attack to miss.

"That's not going to work! Phanpy, get ready to use Protect!" Mika called. Just as Krokorock emerged out of the ground and to take a bite out of Phanpy, Phanpy formed a barrier and was able to block the attack. "Now use Take Down!" Phanpy smashed right against Krokorock and did some real damage.

"Pretty good. Your Phanpy is really strong." Cletus said.

"Thank you. I really love my Phanpy." Mika said.

"I can tell, but that doesn't mean you'll win." Cletus said.

"Phanpy, Rollout!" Mika said.

"Phanpy!" Phanpy started rolling again, but Cletus expected that.

"Use Rock Tomb to block them!" Cletus called.

"Krokorock!" Krokorock generated some rocks and threw them against the ground to block Phanpy's path and it apparently worked. "Now use Bite!"

"Quick! Use Protect again!" Mika called. Krokorock tried to bite Phanpy again, but Phanpy formed the barrier once again and was able to block the attack. Both sides are battling hard and neither side wants to back down.

"Both of them are looking good." Davis said.

"No doubt. That little Phanpy is strong, but Krokorock doesn't want to lose either." Imperialdramon.

"You can tell that they both raised their pokemon with a lot of love and effort." Tetsu said.

"You're doing rather well, Mika." Cletus said. "You're Phanpy has been well trained."

"Thank you. I also see what you meant earlier. Your Krokorock could have only gotten so strong from all the love you give it." Mika said. Both of their pokemon were really feeling what their trainers meant as they both has been raised well. In fact, proof of it was happening right before their eyes as both of them were beginning to glow. No one was expecting this, but knew what it was.

"No way!" Davis said.

"They're both evolving!" Tetsu said as both sides were much bigger now.

"Donphan!"

"Krookodile!"

"Amazing! Both of our pokemon evolved at the same time!" Cletus said as that was a rare thing to see. Davis took out his pokedex and learned more about both of them.

"Donphan, the Armor Pokemon. A ground-type, and the evolve form of Phanpy. Donphan are usually calm, but they will curl into a ball and try to run others down when agitated."

Krookodile, the Intimidation Pokemon. A ground and dark-type, and the evolve form of Krokorock. It's unique sense of sight can spot an opponent even in a harsh sandstorm and up to thirty miles."

"The size of Donphan's tusks indicate that Donphan is actually a female." Tetsu said.

"This is so incredible! My sweet Phanpy is now a Donphan!" Mika said as she was so happy. "Donphan, let's finish this battle! Attack with Rollout!" Donphan started rolling towards Krookodile, but Krookodile had a trick up it's sleeve. Shadows formed around its claw and slashed against Donphan, countering its attack.

"Did you just... You were able to use Shadow Claw! That's great!" Cletus said. "Krookodile, Shadow Claw once more!" Krookodile charged at Donphan and slashed against her one more time. There was some power behind that attack that it knocked Donphan out and Krookodile was the one who won.

"It looks like it's over." Imperialdramon said.

"Donphan!" Mika called as she ran towards her partner.

"Is Donphan okay?" Cletus questioned.

"I think so." Mika said as she made sure. "Cletus, thank you for the battle. At least I got a new Donphan out of this." She said as she seemed satisfied with the results.

"All's well that ends well. This could have gotten a lot uglier." Imperialdramon said.

"Mika, it won't be a date since Davis and I will be there, but you can still eat with us if you like." Tetsu offered.

"Yeah. That battle had to have worked an appetite." Davis said.

"Yes. Join us." Cletus said as he held out his hand. Mika gladly accepted as she took it. Although things didn't go the way she liked, it still ended rather well.

There might be some who aren't ready for dating, but love can come in many different forms. The one thing our heroes love is the journey they are on, and the journey is not over yet. Stay tune to see what more comes.
