Our heroes have arrived on another island that is known for having a great beach resort. Getting closer and closer to Davis' next challenge, they seem to have stopped for a break and a little fun in the sun.

"Amazing!" Tetsu said as they arrived on the beach and it looked beautiful. "Sunline Island really is amazing! You just got to love the beach!"

"It's nice, but I'm more interested in Sepedo Island. They say it should be somewhere close." Davis said.

"We'll be there soon, but let's just try to have some fun for now." Cletus said as that sounded like a good idea. After battling as hard as they have, they sure could use a day for just fun.

"You're right. Let's try to have some fun." Davis said.

"Yeah! Beach fun, here we come!" Imperialdramon cheered.

(Davis' voice) Beauty is Water Deep

"Milotic! Where are you?!" Davis and his friends heard other calling out for a Milotic. When Davis spotted who it was that was calling, he almost couldn't believe his eyes because it was someone that he knew.

"Juan?!" Davis said as he hurried over to him with the others wondering who he was. "Juan! Over here!" He called and got his attention. The person Davis was speaking to was none other than Gym Leader Juan from the Hoenn region. Davis got a look at him and was surprised him.

"I remember you! Your name is Davis, isn't it?!" Juan said.

"Yeah. I can't believe you actually remember me." Davis said.

"How could I not? It's hard to forget someone who actually took on Wallace in a gym battle and won." Juan said.

"I don't believe it! It's really you, Juan!" Imperialdramon said.

"Davis, what's going on? You know this man?" Cletus questioned.

"Yeah. Let me introduce you." Davis said. "Cletus and Tetsu, this here is Juan! He's a gym leader from the Hoenn region!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Juan said. "I happen to be the gym leader of the Sootopolis Gym." He claimed with it catching Tetsu's interest.

"You're a gym leader from the Hoenn region?!" Cletus questioned as they were amazed to meet a gym leader from another region. "My name is Cletus. It's an honor to meet you. I've heard many great things about your gym." He said, but Tetsu didn't really say much of anything.

"Thank you." Juan said.

"So, what brings you all the way out here?" Davis asked.

"I've worked hard at my gym lately, but even the likes of myself needs a vacation." Juan said. "I came to Sunline Island for just that. I would like to continue this conversation, but I'm afraid I'm in the middle of something."

"Is there a problem? You were calling for your Milotic." Imperialdramon said.

"Yes. While I was enjoying my time here, it would seem that my lovely Milotic has wondered off in the sea." Juan said. "I'm trying to find my lovely partner right now."

"We can help you, if you would like." Cletus said.

"That would actually be most helpful." Juan agreed as he appreciated the help. All of them moved on ahead to try and find Juan's Milotic, but Tetsu hung back for a moment before he followed after them. It looks like he's got something on his mind, and it might be about Juan.

Down the Beach

"What makes you think your Milotic is down here?" Davis asked as they all moved further down the beach and away from the people.

"Milotic and I came here for a little rest and relaxation. An isolated spot like this one would really help with that." Juan said. "On top of that, I just simply know my beautiful partner." All of them kept walking until Juan suddenly stopped. They wondered what he was doing. He walked out straight to the ocean and it was like he could sense something. Juan held out his hand and all of them watched he was doing like it was getting suspenseful.

"What's he doing?" Cletus questioned.

"I don't know, but I feel like I'm at the edge of my seat." Imperialdramon said. Suddenly, a large splash happened fright in front of them and Milotic emerged out from the water. The way it do also look so beautiful, like sparkles and glitter simply emerged from Milotic. It's almost like Milotic's beauty itself was everlasting. It certainly amazed everyone.

"There you are." Juan said as he petted Milotic. "You know better than to wonder off on your own."

"Milotic..."

"Your Milotic is better than I remember." Davis said. "That entrance alone was stunning, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised since you are a coordinator."

"A coordinator?! You mean you're a gym leader and a coordinator?!" Cletus questioned.

"I was." Juan said. All of them had a seat and they got to know Juan better. "I was once a coordinator. I earned my five ribbons, competed, and actually won the Grand Festival."

"And now you're a gym leader?" Cletus questioned.

"There's no reason I couldn't do both." Juan said as he shared his story. "Ever since I was a young trainer, I always had a fascination for water-types. They're streamline figures and their weakness towards electric-types."

"Their weakness towards electric-types?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"I don't really get it. How is that a good thing?" Davis questioned.

"It can help show my pokemon's individual strength and abilities." Juan claimed. "I've learned how to use their weakness towards electric-types to aid in appeal. A contest is a competition where you show the appeal of your pokemon, their beauty and other unique qualities. After winning the Grand Festival, I was asked to become a gym leader and a gratefully accepted. In my journeys, I've become quite a gym leader. Not to brag, I beg your pardon." Many of the more experienced trainers battle against me. In doing so, I have found and battled many skilled trainers like Davis' friends Ash and Ross."

"Davis, you competed in the Hoenn League. Does that mean you battled Juan and won?" Cletus questioned.

"No. My buddies did, but I ended up taking on another guy named Wallace." Davis said.

"Wallace?" Cletus questioned.

"Wallace followed in my footsteps as he too specialized in water-types as well becoming Top Coordinator." Juan said. "He was once my student and I entrusted the gym to him. Of course, I reclaimed it when Wallace decided to go and become champion."

"But I heard the current champion is Steven Stone." Cletus said.

"That's true, but Wallace was once the champion himself." Juan said. "I was quite impressed with Davis when I saw him battle Wallace and actually defeated him."

"I just wish we had a chance to battle you. You're quite a challenge yourself, Juan." Imperialdramon said as they were all rather impressed with Juan and his abilities. Juan was a powerful and tough gym leader and is not someone who can be beaten easily.

"Hey, Tetsu. Are you okay? You've been rather quiet." Cletus said. It seemed like Tetsu had something on his mind. With all eyes on him, Tetsu finally found the courage to speak.

"Juan, can I ask you something?" Tetsu asked.

"Of course." Juan said.

"I was wondering if maybe you could have a battle with me." Tetsu said with his friends not expecting that. "I've heard many things of the Sootopolis Gym myself. I'm well aware of how strong you are. You see, I'm trying to be a gym leader myself and I too specialize in water-types. I'm hoping that battling you might be able to teach me a few things. So, what do you say. Will you please have a battle with me?"

"An inspiring gym leader that specializes in water-types..." Juan said as he thought it over. "Very well. I accept your challenge, Tetsu." A battle between two gym leaders that both specialize in water-types. This is sure to make an interesting battle. With Juan accepting Tetsu's challenge, the two of them stood facing each other with their pokemon. "We'll battle using only one pokemon. I will be using my lovely partner: Milotic."

"Milotic."

"I'll battle using Feraligatr!" Tetsu said.

"Feraligatr!"

"Milotic vs. Feraligatr... I've heard of Beauty and the Beast, but not like this." Davis said as they all have their eyes on this battle.

"The first move is all yours." Juan offered. Tetsu needed to ready himself for anything.

"Use Aqua Tail!" Tetsu called.

"You use Aqua Tail as well!" Juan said. Both pokemon used the same attack. The two of them clashed into each other and the colliding attack caused water to spiral around and actually made a rainbow from it.

"How did that happen?!" Cletus said.

"It had to have been Milotic's doing. Juan is using his contest moves to help him battle." Davis said.

"Do not let my Milotic's looks fool you." Juan said. "Beauty is only skin deep, but my Milotic's true beauty goes deeper. My Milotic is as powerful as it is beautiful if not more."

"Feraligatr, now use Superpower!" Tetsu called. Feraligatr built some power and charged right at Milotic.

"Now use Twister!" Juan ordered. Milotic spun its tail around and generated a twister. It smashed right into Feraligatr and it was powerful as Feraligatr was actually being pushed back by it.

"Hold on, Feraligatr!" Tetsu called.

"Now please use Aqua Tail." Juan said. Milotic surprised them with its incredible speed as it appeared right in front of Feraligatr and smashed it's water coated tail against Feraligatr.

"How did Milotic move so fast?!" Tetsu questioned.

"As you might recall, I worked on defense to aid against electric-attacks." Juan explained. "Speed aids in that, so I worked with my pokemon on their speed and hardly give my opponent the chance to fight back." That is a problem for Tetsu.

"Use Crunch!" Tetsu called.

"Use Waterfall!" Juan called. Milotic was able to attack faster than Feraligatr as a pillar of water erupted right under Feraligatr and dealt some more damage. Milotic was simply moving faster than Feraligatr. How is Tetsu suppose to battle against that. "Tetsu, you wish to be a gym leader, but do you know how to become a great one?"

"What do you mean?" Tetsu questioned.

"In order to become an effective gym leader, you must take everything you have learned and experience into your battles." Juan claimed. "A gym leader's job is to bring out the best of trainer and pokemon. To do that, you must use what helped brought out your best. A gym battle is not just another gym battle. Remember that." That was certainly some advice Tetsu needed to remember if he's really going to be a great gym leader. "Shall we continue with our battle?"

"Feraligatr, give it all you've got! Use Crunch!" Tetsu said.

"Feraligatr!" Feraligatr kept the battle going as it bite down hard agianst Milotic and caused some real damage.

"Now use Superpower!" Tetsu called. Feraligatr managed to land another clean strike against Milotic as it struck Milotic right in the head with its claw and knocked Milotic to the ground.

"Good. That's pretty good." Juan said as Tetsu thought he could actually win this. "But I'm afraid it's not good enough. Please use Recover." Milotic began to glow a beautiful golden color and all the damage that was inflicted upon it began to disappear and made Milotic look stunning.

"Milotic knows Recover?!" Tetsu said as that was a real problem for him as Milotic was fully healed.

"Now please use Twister." Juan said. Milotic used Twister with it smashing against Feraligatr and some damage was being dealt. "Now use Aqua Tail." Milotic coated its tail with water again and smashed it against Feraligatr's head. It was strong enough to finish this battle as Feraligatr was knocked right out.

"Feraligatr!" Tetsu called as he hurried over to it.

"Juan's just as strong as before." Imperialdramon said.

"Not only did Milotic win, but it looked incredible. It looked elegant and powerful." Cletus said as he was impressed with Juan's battling.

"It looks like I still got a few things to learn." Tetsu said.

"Don't say that like it's a bad thing. We all have a lot more to learn and improve." Juan said. "I'm sure you will make a fine gym leader." He claimed and that made Tetsu feel pretty good if the likes of Juan is praising him.

Later

After the battle, Davis and the others continued to hang around Juan. It was a lot of fun to be around him, but it was time they get going again.

"I suppose it's time we part ways. I should be returning to Sootopolis City." Juan said. "What is next for all of you?"

"We're going to Sepedo Island. I'm taking part in Pokemon Grand Orientation." Davis said.

"Sepedo Island? You're in luck." Juan said as he pointed out to the ocean at a neighboring island. "That is Sepedo Island over there!"

"It was right there the whole time?!" Davis said as he couldn't believe he missed that.

"I heard that the one in charge is named Val, and her challenge is rather...simple yet elegant, I would have to say." Juan said. "Best of luck to you and in all of your battles, Davis. Tetsu, I hope for the chance we can battle again when you become gym leader."

"You got it." Tetsu said as he couldn't wait.

After meeting up with Juan, Tetsu learned that being an effective gym leader means you can try new things and use it in your battles. Now, it's time for Davis' third challenge in Pokemon Grand Orientation. With it coming up, you don't want to miss what's up next.
