Our heroes are getting closer and closer to Gallant Island so that Davis can take the head of Pokemon Grand Orientation. At the moment, they have stopped on a small island and plan to head to Gallant Island from there.

"It won't be long now, Davis." Cletus said. "We'll be at Gallant Island soon."

"Awesome. I can't wait to see what this Michelle is like." Davis said as he stared out at the ocean and kept thinking about his upcoming battle. "We were told that she has a legendary pokemon on her side. I wonder who that legendary pokemon could be."

"It really could be anything, but if she actually managed to catch one, she has to be one tough trainer." Imperialdramon said. "It could end up being one of our toughest battles."

"I know, but it will be worth it." Davis said.

"Do you think you could save some of the enthusiasm and help me with some firewood so that we can have dinner?" Tetsu said.

"Okay. I'm coming." Davis said as he tried to help, but none of them noticed some sort of pokemon watching down on them from a cliff.

(Davis' voice) The Moon of Beginners

Davis and the others enjoyed a nice dinner and were getting ready to call it a night. They were camping out on the beach so they can hit the water and be on their way early. However, Davis was having a little trouble sleeping. He couldn't stop thinking about what was going to happen. It sounds like he's going to have one heck of a battle soon. While the others were sleeping, Davis got up and just stared out at the nighty sky and ocean.

"Davis? Is something wrong?" Imperialdramon questioned as he was awake.

"A little hard to sleep tonight. I'm not really sure why." Davis said. Davis just got out of his sleeping bag and got his stuff together.

"Where are you going?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"I'm just going to have a nightly stroll." Davis said and started walking.

"Hold on. I'll go with you." Imperialdramon said as he followed after him. The two of them just walked right through the woods and let the night and cool air pass through them.

"It's weird." Davis said. "I usually have a little trouble sleeping because I have a big event the next day, but not this time. We still got some time before he hit Gallant Island."

"Maybe it's because of the upcoming battle. Maybe it's because we don't know what we're getting into." Imperialdramon said. It was certainly something for Davis to think about. "Davis, there is something I want to ask. What are we going to do next?"

"Next?" Davis questioned.

"Let's say we take on this Michelle, and then we win or lose the battle." Imperialdramon said. "What are we going to do next? Our journey in Centros is over? Are we just going to go back to Kanto? It's not like we can return home. We don't even know how far our friends have gotten on the portal."

"I haven't really thought that far ahead." Davis said. "All I do know is that I'm not ready for it to end. I don't want to give this all up if it means we're not going to come back." He claimed as he didn't want the adventure to ever end. Suddenly, he heard something. "What was that?"

"What?" Imperialdramon said.

"I heard something..." Davis said as he looked around for something out of the ordinary. Just as the clouds covered some of the moon and dimmed whatever little light there was, Davis spotted the silhouette of something. "There!" Imperialdramon spotted it, but just barely. It looked like a pokemon they've never seen before.

"What is it?" Imperialdramon whispered.

"I can't tell. It's too dark." Davis said. They both tried to get a closer look as to what kind of pokemon there was, but just as the moon was coming out again, the mysterious pokemon took off into the woods. "Hey! Come back!" He called as he and Imperialdramon chased after it, but it was already gone. "Darn it. It's already gone."

"Any idea of what kind of pokemon that was?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"Let me see... Maybe I can find it." Davis said as he took out his pokedex and tried to find what kind of pokemon that was.

"Excuse me. What are you doing out here at this time?" Both of them took a look and saw a woman found them. She had dark brown hair tied back with her wearing a grey sports top and a green vest with her wearing jean shorts and boots with black fingerless gloves.

"Oh. Hello there." Davis said.

"Hello. What are you doing out here?" The woman asked.

"I had a little trouble sleeping." Davis said. "We were out for a little walk to try and clear my head, but then we saw this strange looking pokemon and tried to figure out what it was. We couldn't get a good look to tell what it was."

"A pokemon you've never seen before... You mean like this one." The woman said as she referred to Imperialdramon. "I'm not familiar with this pokemon."

"I probably have that affect on a lot of people." Imperialdramon said.

"And you can talk?! Amazing!" The woman claimed.

"My name is Davis and this is my partner. He's called Imperialdramon." Davis said.

"Imperial is in the name. Does that mean you're of royalty or something?" The woman teased, but it did have Imperialdramon ponder about that.

"Never really thought about that." Imperialdramon claimed.

"I was just teasing. Try not to think about it. If you're really having trouble sleeping, I have a camp set up. We can talk if you like." The woman offered and Davis didn't really see any harm in it. She did seem rather nice.

...

The Campsite

All three of them went to her campsite. When they got there, they gathered around a fire and told her about his reason for not sleeping.

"I see... Trying to clear Pokemon Grand Orientation." The woman said as she kept the fire going. "You say you managed to get all four passes?"

"Yeah. My friends and I are on our way to Gallant Island so I can take on this Michelle." Davis said.

"I hear that she's pretty strong." The woman said. "She even has a legendary pokemon on her side."

"I'm aware of that, but I want to battle her even more because of that. The fact that she was able to catch one is amazing." Davis said. "I wonder what kind of legendary pokemon it is."

"Could that be why you had trouble sleeping? They might sound impressive, but legendary pokemon are still considered pokemon." The woman claimed. "They're considered legendary because they're hard to catch, rarely seen, and possess amazing powers. For example, there's Jirachi, who can grant wishes, or Celebi, who can travel through time. Even so, they are still just pokemon that any trainer can catch."

"I guess I never thought of it like that." Davis said. "They make them sound impressive because of stories and how you don't see many trainers succeed in catching them. Did you ever try?"

"Once or twice." The woman claimed.

"But I don't think that's the only reason." Imperialdramon said. "I think part of the problem is that we don't know what we're going to do next whether we win or lose. We don't know what to do about our journey."

"Really? Why not just return home until you figured that out?" The woman asked, but Davis had no way of answering that.

"Let's just say that it's a little difficult." Davis claimed.

"I can see why your mind would be a little restless about something like that. I was like that myself before." The woman claimed. "What works for me when I'm feeling like that is that I just look up at that." She looked up at the sky with the others following her sight to the moon.

"The moon?" Davis questioned.

"There was a full moon just like that one on the night I first started my journey." The woman claimed. "It was so big and beautiful that I felt like I could stare at it for hours. When I felt like I wasn't sure where to go next on my journey, I just look up at the moon. It takes me back to those times when my options were limitless. It reminds me of all the possibilities there could be. Even if you don't know what to do, you can always figure something else out."

"Yeah... I remember when I first started out that I wasn't really sure what I was getting into." Davis said. "I'm not sure if there was full moon that night, but I'm glad it all happened. I feel so alive when I'm being a trainer."

"Exactly. Whenever you feel something like this again, just try to think back to when you were just a beginner just starting out. Try to think about how far you came and that there's still more out there for you." The woman suggested. Going back to basics is always a good idea, try to go back to simpler times to try and help you figure out your next move. It is certainly something for Davis to think about.

"Davis!"

"There you two are!" Both of them looked and saw Cletus and Tetsu.

"Hey, guys. What are you doing out here?" Davis questioned.

"We were looking for you!" Tetsu said.

"Tetsu woke up and saw you were both gone, so we went looking for you thinking something happened." Cletus said.

"Sorry about that." Davis said. "I just had trouble sleeping, so the two of us went out for a little stroll and ended up here."

"We also spotted a pokemon we never saw before." Imperialdramon said.

"What pokemon?" Tetsu questioned.

"I don't know. It was on all fours, had antlers, and a long neck." Davis said as he tried to describe it.

"That's nice, but who is she?" Cletus asked about the woman.

"Oh! Sorry. These two are my friends: Tetsu and Cletus. This is..." Davis said, but stuttered. "Sorry. I never got your name."

"That's okay. The truth is that...I'm who your next opponent will be. I am Michelle." She introduced with all of them surprised that was the case.

"What?! You mean you were Michelle the entire time?! The same Michelle who is the head of Pokemon Grand Orientation!" Davis said as he couldn't believe it.

"That's right. The one and same." Michelle confirmed. "I originally came to this island just for a little relaxation. I didn't expect to find my next challenger here, let alone have a little talk to him." This was unbelieveable to them. She was here the whole time and none of them knew.

"This is amazing." Tetsu said.

"Michelle, you've got to tell me! What is the legendary pokemon of yours?!" Davis asked as he really wanted to know.

"You already know it, Davis. The pokemon you described is the very same one." Michelle said as she pointed up. All of them looked up to a cliff and could see the pokemon up there.

"Co!" It jumped it's way down until they all could get a good look at it. It was actually a Cobalion.

"I don't believe it! It's a Cobalion!" Cletus said with astonishment.

"That's the legendary pokemon she has?" Davis questioned as he used his pokedex.

"Cobalion, the Iron Will Pokemon. A steel and fighting-type. From the moment it's born, it radiates the air of being a natural leader. It acts in the defense of pokemon against humans."

"That's really a legendary pokemon?" Tetsu questioned.

"It is in Unova. It's part of a group called the Swords of Justice for each member can produce a sword-like horn from their heads." Cletus said.

"Cobalion, I like you to meet our next challenger." Michelle said as she tried to introduce Davis, but Davis seemed a bit nervous being in the presence of this pokemon. It didn't help with the way it looked at Davis and being so stern.

"Uh... Hi..." Davis said as he tried to reach out and pet Cobalion, but Cobalion blew some of it's breath against his hand like it was about to attack and scared Davis off.

"Sorry. Cobalion has always been on guard." Michelle said. "Anyway, you plan to challenge the two of us to a battle on Gallant Island, right? I certainly hope you can bring a good battle. It's been quite a while since anyone has given us a challenge." It seems like the pressure was on now.

"Davis, Cobalion looks like one fierce pokemon. I hate to say it, but I don't see how you can win this." Tetsu said. He might have had a point, but Davis thought about what Michelle told him about going back to basics and how legendary pokemon are really just any other pokemon.

"Maybe, but Cobalion is just another pokemon and Michelle is just another trainer. This is just another battle that I plan to win." Davis said as he was more sure of himself now. What he'll do after will have to wait. What he plans to do for this battle is where he needs to keep his focus. Michelle certainly seems like an interesting trainer, and she does have a powerful pokemon on her side, but he'll battle to the end.

It would seem that after meeting the very person he is aiming to beat, Davis is actually more sure of himself rather than anxious. He now also knows what legendary pokemon Michelle might be battling with. We're bound to see an interesting battle quite soon. You don't want to miss it.
