"It's a good story, but I can't publish it." Cat said having read it Kara's article

"Because there are only two sources?" Kara asked.

"Because there is only one source. You can't use yourself, either version, as a source." Cat said.

"But there is no one else. And if someone else was writing this you'd let them use Supergirl."

"But someone else isn't writing this. You are." Cat said. "This is your story, but you are very involved. You need to remain objective so you need three independent sources."

"So I can't do anything?"

"What about the twins? Surely you can help them, even if it is just to give closure to the one you met … Cam?"

"Cory." Kara corrected.

"The point is you can still help him. Sometimes you have to do what you can, not what you want."

"What's the point of powers if I can't use them?"

"Didn't you complain that Alex doesn't understand her limits? Yet have a habit of trying to do everything and then face the disappointment and strain of not being able to. Doing what you can to help Cory, doesn't make you a failure and may act as a good example for Alex."

"I know, but I don't know where to start. I mean I know nothing about Cam."

"True, but you know Cory and you said they were identical twins."

"But Cory is scared. He wants to stay in the shadows."

"Then lead him to the light."

"You make it sound simple."

"Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. Until you try you won't know."

"What's up with you?" Alex asked when she and Vasquez saw Kara sitting in the briefing room demolishing a box of donuts.

"Cat rejected my story, not enough evidence."

"Sorry." Alex said.

"Well we have something." Vasquez said.

"What?"

"Sewage."

"What?" Kara asked.

"The way we normally detect drugs is through urine samples. Which people naturally give the city everyday." Vasquez said. "So we have had teams doing spot checks of the sewage round the city, before it gets to treatment centres. And we have found several hotspots." Vasquez said bringing up a map. "Obviously we can't narrow it down to a single building, but at least we have several small haystacks rather than a city size haystack."

"That's both gross and genius." Kara said.

"It was Alex's idea." Vasquez shrugged. "Any way I am going to see if we can narrow it down further, I'll catch you later."

"I should go too." Kara said standing.

"Where?" Alex asked.

"To see Steve, maybe he can help me find Cory."

00

"Hi Kara." Steve smiled as she approached the table in the coffee shop.

"Hi."

"I got coffee and cakes." He said pointing to the items on the table.

"You didn't have to, especially as you are doing me a favour." Kara said sitting.

"I'm sure I owe you." Steve smiled. "So what do you need?"

"Cory, I was hoping you could tell him I wanted to meet."

"Sure, I'm at the clinic tomorrow, if I see him I'll pass it on. And if I don't I will leave a message."

"Thanks."

"So how are you doing?" Steve asked.

"Me? Fine. Why?"

"We ignoring the abduction of your daughter?"

"We're putting that behind us." Kara said.

"Just like that?" Steve asked.

"Trying to."

"Well Alex seems her normal self." Steve commented.

"Teenagers are resilient." Kara replied.

"Yes they are." Steve agreed. "But what about you?"

"I keep thinking about what could have happened. What could still happen."

"I'm sorry." Steve said. "It must be hard. In fact I know it is hard, I keep thinking about what could have happened with fake me and Martin." He added. "But there is a silver lining, I mean Alex and MJ seem tight again. And Alex seems happier."

"Yes she does."

"That didn't sound like you had much conviction."

"She's a little stressed about everything."

"It'd be worrying if she wasn't." Steve said.

"I guess."

"Anything I can do to make you feel happier?"

"Not unless you have a file on your phone that explains everything that has happened."

"'fraid not." Steve said. "But if one magically pops up I will send it on. But did you want me to send the flying pigs your way too?"

"Seeing I am pretty sure we'll seem them first, sure." Kara smiled.

"You guys doing anything tonight?" Steve asked.

"No. Why?"

"Want to go bowling?"

"Here you go." Supergirl said handing over an alien the next day.

"And it isn't even Christmas." Vasquez said signaling three guards to escort the alien to holding. She then looked at Kara and asked.

"Any problems?"

"No. And I am pretty sure that was a traditional Klech rather than a modified alien. Which makes a nice change." Kara commented. "Where's Alex?"

"Briefing the President. She should have been done twenty minutes ago, so I'm guessing it isn't going well." She explained before seeing her boss. "Speak of the devil."

"Kara?" Alex greeted. "I thought you weren't coming in this morning."

"I had to drop off a Klech."

"There was an alien attack?" Alex asked before looking at Vasquez. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"The President's Chief of Staff told me no interruptions." Vasquez said. "Anyway I should go process the prisoner. See you later." She said to Kara.

"So what did the President want?"

"To understand our complete lack of progress." Alex said. "Want to grab some lunch?"

"Yes." Kara said as her phone buzzed. On reading the message though she added. "But no. Cory has agreed to meet."

"Be careful." Alex warned.

As Kara sat on a park bench she was suddenly aware of a presence at her side. Turning she greeted.

"Hi Cory."

"Hey, have you found Cam?"

"Not yet. I am still looking, but I will need your help."

"How?"

"I want to run a missing person article on Cam, but to do that I need a picture."

"I don't have any recent ones."

"No, but you have you and you said you were identical."

"You want to use my picture?"

"Yes." Kara said. "We'll alter it a little, but it will be your picture."

"You think it will help?"

"It's our best chance." Kara said.

"Fine." He said removing his hood so Kara could take a few photos on her phone.

"Thanks." Kara smiled.

"Anything else?"

"I'll get this posted as soon as I can. But if it doesn't work there is another method, but we'd need to know how to find you. I don't mean an address. We need to know how to find you remotely. To do that we need to understand your powers."

"You want to test me?"

"Not me. Not by bag. But there are two options. The first, which I am guessing is a hard no, is the DEO. The second is a friend of mine who has a lab. You could come and go as you please. You don't have to answer, I know it is a lot to think about. But if you want to do it, you know where to find me."

"Anything else?"

"Yeah, when I run this photo we are likely to get a lot of hits, hits related to you, so I will need to know where you have been. Other wise we are going to be chasing after you rather than Cam."

"Why are you helping me?" He asked.

"Why wouldn't I?" Kara asked.

"In my life there's always an angle."

"I just want to stop the suffering." Kara said.

"If you get hits and want me to look leave a flower on my mom's grave and I'll come to you." He said. "I'll think about the other stuff." He said standing and leaving.

As Kara and Alex trained in the desert that evening, Kara stood by and watched as her daughter tried to move rocks from side to side. When all of a sudden several rocks shattered.

"Easy. Something you want to tell me?" Kara asked her daughter.

"Like what?"

"Where all your anger is coming from."

"I'm not angry."

"Those rocks disagree." Kara said. "Has something happened?"

"No."

"No problems at school?"

"I said no. Why won't you believe me?"

"For starters you hid the fact you were being bullied from me for months. Secondly you seem a little snappy."

"I'm just frustrated."

"Why?"

"It's like I'm going backwards. I thought I had a handle on my powers and now I don't. And you just think I'm a nut work."

"Nut job." Kara corrected. "And I don't think that."

"Yes you do, you said as much."

"I said you might be stressed, that's not the same as being crazy. And after what you've been through some would say it is normal."

"Can we go home? I'm really tired." The teen asked, Kara couldn't work out of the demand was due to tiredness or wanting to stop the conversation.

"I'm not surprised you didn't sleep much last night and then used your powers tonight." Kara said carefully looking at her daughter before saying. "This weekend we are going shopping."

"Why?"

"You've grown out of your clothes."

"They're fine." The teen said looking at the sleeves that no longer reached her wrists.

"No they're not. You need new clothes." Kara said. "We can get them online if you want, but I thought we could make a nice day of it."

"Okay." The teen said.

"Good, then let's go home."
