A/N:Thanks for the reviews
Superfriends - Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying them. To be honest I have no idea what I will do when/if I finish this one.
"Hey." Alex greeted as Kara flew into the control room.
"Hi. What's going on?" Kara asked looking at the screen
"This is the smallest we can make the areas of interest based on sewage." Alex said pointing at the maps.
"That's still a lot of large areas." Kara said.
"I know. But we are trying to use other tech to narrow it down. We are going to start going door to door today."
"Want some help?"
"Can't risk it, that chemical could be in play." Alex said. "But you are more than welcome to stay and wait with me."
"Actually I may look at those journals again."
"Why?"
"I just feel like I am missing something."
"Okay, shout if you need anything."
00
"Here." Alex said joining her sister in the lab a few hours later and putting a muffin and coffee down in front of her.
"Thanks." Kara said looking round. "How's the search?"
"Slow." Alex said. "How's your search going?"
"The same. I don't even know what I am looking for."
"You okay?" Alex asked sitting opposite her.
"I just feel like I am not achieving anything."
"With the journal?"
"With everything. And I think Alex is picking up on my stress. She obliterated rocks last night."
"She say why?"
"No." Kara replied. "I know Kara is back this weekend, but you think you can handle everything this weekend."
"Sure. Why?"
"I'm going to spend it with Alex, take her shopping and just have fun."
"Sounds like a good idea." Her sister said.

As she entered the apartment Kara saw her daughter fast asleep on the couch, Chewie sitting loyally by her side. But on seeing Kara Chewie jumped off Alex, waking her in the process.
"Mom?" Alex asked confused sitting up.
"Hey." Kara smiled.
"Did I fall to sleep?" The teenager asked confused.
"Looks that way. You okay?"
"Yes." The teen said still looking groggy.
"Have you been using your powers?"
"No. Well no more than normal."
"You sure? You seem pretty tired."
"I'm just tired." The teen shrugged. "I'll take Chewie for a walk."
"Okay." Kara said frowning. "We are going to be eating at Alex's so I'll see you over there?"
"Sure." The teen said putting the leash on Chewie.
00
"MJ, can we talk?" Kara asked her nephew.
"Um sure."
"Is something happening to Alex at school."
"I swear I am not doing anything-"
"MJ I'm not accusing you of anything. But you said you were going to make it up to Alex, so I am assuming you are looking out for her. Have you seen anything to suggest she is being hassled?"
"No. Nothing. Has she said something?"
"No, but she seems stressed."
"Kara said that last weekend, so I've been looking, but I've not seen anything. But I'll keep looking." MJ said.
"Thanks." Kara said as the door opened and the older Alex walked in carrying two large brown bags.
"Hi guys." Alex said.
"Hi." MJ said taking the bags off his mother.
"How was school?"
"Boring." MJ said. "And I've done my homework."
"Already?"
"It was the course work I finished last weekend."
"Okay, well why don't you plate that up." Alex said pointing at the bags.
"Sure." He said walking off.
"Where's Alex?" The older Alex asked.
"Walking Chewie."
"Everything okay?" The older Alex asked.
"Yeah."
"But?"
"She was asleep when I got back."
"She still using her powers overnight?"
"Yes."
"That's probably causing exhaustion." Alex pointed out. "But I can run some tests if you want?"
"I'll see how she sleeps tonight." Kara said as the front door opened again and the teenage Alex entered with Chewie.
"Hi Alex." The older Alex greeted as Chewie ran to the kitchen.
"Hi." The teen replied.
"You more awake now?" Kara asked.
"I guess."
"You better perk up or you are going to get trounced at monopoly later." Her aunt warned.
"Not if I'm on your team." The teen countered.
"You can't jump ship like that." Kara protested.

As Kara got dressed the next morning she heard a crash form the kitchen.
"Alex?" She called rushing out of her room and seeing her daughter crouching on the floor trying to pick up the remnants of the plate, while keeping Chewie away.
"You okay?" Kara asked as she picked up Chewie and shut him in her room.
"Sure." The teen said, but her voice was cracked.
Walking back to her daughter, Kara saw her back was trembling.
"Alex?" Kara repeated as she rushed over to her. "What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry, I broke it, I-"
"Hey, it's just a plate." Kara said hugging her. Pulling back she asked. "Are you hurt?"
"No."
"Then why are you crying?"
"I keep screwing up."
"No you don't." Kara said confused.
"Yes I do. I keep using my powers at night, I blew up all those rocks the other day. Now I can't even put a plate away."
"Alex, it was an accident." Kara said pulling her in for a hug again, confused about what was going on. Eventually she felt her daughter had calmed down and pulled back again. "Why don't you go get dressed? I'll clean this up."
"Okay." The teen said going to her room. Frowning Kara used her superspeed to clean up the plate before releasing Chewie and putting some toast on.
Hearing Alex's door she turned and said.
"I put some toast on."
"I'm okay, I'm not hungry." The teen said.
"You should eat." Kara said.
"I'll be late." The teen said. "I'll have some of my lunch when I get in."
"Okay." Kara said. "You sure you are okay?"
"I'm fine." The teenager said. "But I really have to go."
"Okay, but we'll talk later." Kara said.
"Okay." The teen said walking out of the apartment. Moments later the door opened again and the older Alex walked in.
"Morning." She called before seeing her sister frowning at the door. "What's wrong?"
"Alex."
"She looked ok." Her sister said.
"Precisely."
"What?" Alex asked lost.
"It was almost as if she wasn't crying over a plate five minutes ago."
"And that's a bad thing?"
"It is when she was crying over a plate five minutes ago."
"You need to back up a few steps." Her sister said completely lost.
"Alex dropped a plate on the floor, burst into tears and apologised for constantly screwing up."
"Any idea what sparked it?"
"No. Yesterday I asked MJ if she was being hassled at school and he said she wasn't."
"Perhaps J'onn could help get to the bottom of it?" Alex suggested. "Or we can run some scans? I can run them tonight or wait until after the weekend."
"Thanks." Kara said.
"Like I said yesterday, if Alex has been using her powers at night, she is going to be exhausted. This could be a manifestation of that."
"Why didn't I see it before?"
"Because you've been dealing with a lot. Alex is tough, perhaps a little too tough, so we kinda forgot what she went through. Why don't you two go away this weekend? Have a complete break? Or we can all go to Midvale earlier than planned?"
00
"It was staring me in the face all along." Kara said walking to Alex's office later that day.
"What was?" Alex asked confused.
"This." Kara said passing Alex the journal.
"I'd remind you that this isn't meant to leave the lab, but I'm guessing you don't care."
"Look there." Kara said pointing.
"Where? All I see is Grattlok and Kryptonian, which we already knew about."
"There." Kara said, pointing to a symbol. "It didn't quite fit, I thought it was because I didn't really get the old language used by the Children of Juru, but then I released it's not a 'kah' it's a coat of arms. It is marking the important pages."
"You know which coat of arms?"
"The house of Sa."
"As in?"
"Hals-Sa. The Kryptonian mentored by my father who worked on Medusa."
"Okay. And I don't want to sound too negative about this, but does that actually help? I mean we don't know if he was on Earth or gave the journal to someone on another planet. On top of that we don't know what he looks like. We have no way of finding him. Unless we hired Lobo to bring him in."
"That's not even funny." Kara said.
"Sorry." Alex said. "There's another possibility."
"Which is?"
"That he is being framed. Someone is trying to lead us down the wrong path. It wouldn't be the first time in this investigation."
"So I have nothing?"
"I didn't say that, but we need to be careful." Alex said as her sister's phone buzzed.
"I need to go pick up Kara."
"You know you don't have to be her personal taxi service."
00
"Welcome home." The older Alex said tightly hugging her daughter.
"Hey mom." She said into the hug.
"Hey." MJ said as he came down the stairs with his cousin and Chewie.
"Hi." Kara smiled pulling out of the hug. She then looked at her cousin and asked. "Want to walk Chewie?"
"What about Diz?"
"He'll be over later, plenty of time for us to catch up first." The teenage Kara said.
"Sure." The teenage Alex said, sensing she didn't have much choice.
"See you in a bit." The teenage Kara said to her aunt.
"Bye." The older Kara said watching them leave.
"So what's going on?" The teenage Kara asked her cousin.
"Mom told you?" The teenage Alex guessed.
"What?"
"My meltdown over the plate."
"You've lost me." The teenage Kara said.
"Then forget I mentioned it."
"You know that isn't going to happen." The older teenager pointed out.
"I broke a plate and lost it."
"When you say broke a plate, you threw it into a wall?"
"No, it slipped out of my hands and hit the floor."
"So you accidentally broke a plate?"
"Yes."
"And lost it?"
"Yes."
"Lost it how?"
"There were tears." The teenage Alex confessed.
"Why?"
"I don't know, it was like all my screw ups catching up with me."
"What screw ups?"
"I Keep using my powers when I don't mean to. Everything I do feels wrong. I'm making mom stress."
"Gotta ask, any run ins with Malaise?"
"Not according to the watch." The teen said. "And it wasn't like that. I mean I wasn't overwhelmed with fear and dread. I just couldn't control my emotions."
"Well you okay now?"
"I guess. Still feel frustrated by everything."
"Want to go blast some rocks?"
"Tried that, and I really freaked mom out." The teen said.
