"Hey." Kara smiled when her daughter started to wake up.

"Mom?" The teen asked turning her head to look at her mother.

"I'm right here."

"You're okay?" The teenager questioned as she turned in her mothers arms and hugged her.

"I'm fine. I promise." Kara said kissing her head. "But what about you?"

"I've ruined everything." Alex said. "I'm sorry."

"What are you talking about?"

"They saw."

"Your cousins?" Kara asked confused.

"No. Martin and Steve."

"Alex, you are going to have to explain this to me." Kara said.

"They saw."

"Saw what?"

"Me. They know. I'm sorry."

"Know what?" Kara asked, too tired to follow her daughter's words.

"What I am."

"What you are?" Kara asked lost.

"They saw. I didn't mean to. I couldn't think of a different way. Now they know and we'll have to leave." She said crying.

"Slow down." Kara said holding her tightly. "We aren't going anywhere."

"But they know. It's not safe."

"Safe from what?" Kara asked. "What did they see?"

"That I had powers. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"It will be okay." Kara said hugging her tightly.

"No it won't I ruined everything." the teen sobbed into her mother's chest.

"It's okay." Kara soothed, holding her until she calmed. "I'm sorry." Kara said when Alex had calmed down.

"What?" The teen asked lost.

"When I was growing up in Midvale I had a friend who figured out who I was. He didn't mind and he liked me for me. Not because he was family and Eliza told him to, but because he wanted to. I remember how happy that made me feel. But I have been so focused on keeping you safe I forgot how important that feeling was. I should have listened to you when you said you wanted to tell Martin."

"No you shouldn't. You were right. He hates me. I could see it in their faces. They was so much anger and fear."

"It'll will be okay. Just like it was for me."

"Didn't Lena try to kill you?"

"That's a bit of an exaggeration and we are fine now."

"We should leave."

"Alex it will be okay." Kara said. "You can't just run away from your problems"

"Why not? My entire life has been running away." The exhausted teen said before realising what she said. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to upset you."

"I'm upset that you have been bottling so much inside you." Kara said holding her tightly. "You know what you need? You need to release everything."

"How?"

"Scream."

"What?"

"Scream as loud as you can, you'll feel better." Kara said but seeing her daughter's doubt she added. "Trust me."

"What about your ears? Won't it hurt you?"

"I'll be okay." Kara said. "Just give it a try."

"Okay." The teen said before giving a half hearted scream.

"What was that?" Kara asked. "You can do so much better." She added before screaming, the ferocity of it surprising the teen. "Now you try." Kara said.

As the older Alex returned to Lena's lab she heard screams coming from one of the rooms and asked Lena. "What's going on in there?"

"Some weird sort of therapy. But Alex seems happier." Lena said. "How are the others?"

"Okay. But worried about Alex. How are the latest readings?"

"Down on what they were, but still erratic compared to normal." Lena said. "We also know what is bothering Alex."

"Other than the hormones and thinking Kara was dead?" Alex asked.

"Yes. She had to use her powers in front Steve and Martin. She is stressing over the fact they know." Lena said as the screaming stopped.

"Okay, I'm going to talk to them."

"Steve and Martin?" Lena asked frowning.

"No, Alex and Kara." Alex clarified before walking to the room.

"Hey, how are you doing?" The older Alex asked.

"Okay." Kara smiled at her sister.

"How long am I going to be like this?" The teen asked her aunt.

"This?" The older Alex asked.

"Screwed up."

"You're not screwed up." The older Alex assured her. "If you mean your hormone levels, we think they have peaked. They may be a bit up and down for a few days, but then you should be fine. At least until you get pregnant."

"Alex." Kara chastised her sister.

"What?"

"No talk of dating or pregnancy." Kara said.

"One day the switch is going to flip and she'll be asking you why you aren't dating, why you aren't married and why you don't have kids." Alex said to her niece, who cracked a small smile. "Don't look so optimistic, that is way worse than what you face now." The older Alex then turned more serious and said. "You have burned a lot of energy, so you need to build up your calories."

"Okay." The teenager said.

"Why don't you try eating something then go shower and get changed?" Kara said. "I'll be right here."

Having watched her daughter disappear to the showers Kara turned to her sister and was immediately pulled into a hug.

"You scared me so much." Alex said.

"Sorry." Kara said.

"What happened?"

"Lobo was hired to kill a vampire thing. To lure him out he needed the vampire thing to think I was dead. He was talking a lot and I wasn't really paying attention to it, but the blade was coated in some chemical, kind of made by humans maybe, I'm a little fuzzy on that." Kara explained. "I was stabbed, it hurt to much, then I couldn't breathe and it went dark. Next thing I know Lobo is decapitating the vampire."

"If it makes you feel better he has left the planet."

"Gone to get his bounty." Kara said bitterly.

"More importantly, how are you?" Lena asked pulling her friend in for a hug. "And don't you dare say fine."

"Right now I am just worried about Alex."

"Unfortunately, time is probably the healer." Lena said.

"I hate being patient." Kara muttered as she noticed Lena and Alex were scanning her. "What are you doing?"

"Scanning you." Alex said.

"I can see that. Why?"

"You were beaten, stabbed, exposed to a chemical and died. Not to mention met a vampire." Alex listed.

"While that sounds bad I am all healed. I just needed the sun." Kara said.

"We are just making sure of that." Lena said.

"And when we have made sure, you are resting."

"I can't. I need to do something first."

"Lobo is gone." Alex reminded her.

"I know, that's not what I need to do."

"So what is?" Alex asked.

"I'm going to see Steve."

"You sure you are up for that? You should be resting." Alex said.

"I don't think waiting is a good option."

"Want me to come in with you?"

"No."

"Okay, but I am still driving you."

"I'm coming too." The teenage Alex said walking back into the room.

"You sure?" Kara asked.

"My screw up."

-00-

"You ready?" Kara asked as they reached the door.

"No." The teen said, her earlier bravado replaced by fear.

"No matter what happens I'm right here with you." Kara said before knocking on the door. A moment later a tired looking teenager opened the door.

"Hi Martin." Kara smiled.

"Hi." He said after a moment of silence while looking confused before asking. "Is Alex okay?"

"Why don't you ask her yourself?" Kara suggested, stepping to one side allowing Martin to see her daughter.

"Alex!" Martin said before hugging her. "Are you okay? Why'd you run off?" He asked.

"Why don't we go inside?" Kara suggested.

"Okay." Martin said releasing the confused Alex and leading them to the lounge where Steve was sitting on the couch, his splinted leg resting on the coffee table.

"Alex, are you okay?" Steve asked as soon as he saw the teen.

"I'm fine." The teen said avoiding eye contact just as Kara came into the room.

"Kara?" He asked eyes wide.

"Hey, what happened to you?' Kara asked looking at the ankle.

"I tripped and broke it." He said. "It'll be fine." Steve answered sounding very unsure.

"We thought we should talk." Kara said.

"Um, sure. Take a seat. You guys want a drink or anything?" Steve asked.

"We're fine." Kara said as she sat. She then looked at her daughter and asked. "You want me to do this?"

In response Alex nodded as she kept staring her hands.

"Alex said that yesterday you saw she had powers. The thing is, it's not just Alex, it's me as well. I'm not just Kara Danvers, I'm Supergirl."

"Well yeah." Martin said.

"Martin, we talked about this, it's rude for you to let on you know a secret when you haven't been told." Steve said.

"You knew?" Kara asked eyes wide.

"Yes."

"How?"

"Glasses are like the worse disguise in history." Martin said.

"Same stance. Same face. Same heart." Steve listed.

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"You clearly didn't want us to know." Steve said. "And I thought your sister might MIB us."

"Yeah, we don't actually have a Neuralyzer. We just use J'onn." Kara said.

"That was a lot less comforting than I'd hoped." Steve said shifting in his chair.

"So, if you knew does that mean you don't feel betrayed, angry, resentful?" Kara asked.

"Why would we?" Steve asked confused.

"You both looked really scared and angry yesterday." The teenage Alex said, still avoiding eye contact.

"Well I was, but not at you." Steve said. "I was scared because we had almost been killed and I was angry at the people who tried to kill us. Definitely not at you."

"Why would you think we mad at you?" Martin asked lost.

"I lied to you."

"Not really. You never said you weren't an alien." Martin replied. "And you never denied having powers."

"So you're okay with this?" Kara asked.

"Why wouldn't we be?" Steve countered.

"Experience."

"We're fine." Steve assured her before asking. "Seeing you guys are here, want to stay for lunch?"

"Sure." Kara smiled.

"In which case, can you two go grab some food?" Steve asked the teens. The suggestion causing the teenage Alex to look to her mother.

"I'll be here when you get back." Kara smiled.

"I still don't get why you didn't say anything." Kara said when the teens had gone.

"Honestly?" Steve asked.

"Yes."

"Well, it was your secret to tell. And after I figured it out I thought I'd be a better friend if you thought I didn't know."

"What do you mean?"

"You literally try to do everything for everyone and you are always trying to be a source of strength for the people you know, either as Supergirl or Kara. I was worried if you knew that I knew you would act different and try to be strong round me because that is what you thought Supergirl should be. Whereas if you didn't know I knew, maybe you'd admit to not being so okay and use me as a friend in a way you don't people who know."

"You gave this a lot of thought."

"Yeah, well. I do have a question though."

"Sure."

"How are you alive?"

"Lobo just needed someone to think I was dead so temporarily killed me."

"Temporarily killed you? Pretty sure that isn't how death works." Steve said confused.

"Even though Lobo is the worst type of thug you will ever meet he is actually a genius. Normally he uses that to kill people. On this occasion he did something to put me in some sort of suspended animation, I guess."

"Did it hurt?"

"Yes." Kara confirmed.

"I'm sorry. So how are you doing?" Steve asked Kara.

"I feel guilty."

"About dying?" Steve asked confused.

"No. Alex. My entire life on Earth I have been keeping who I was a secret. And when we returned I forced that on Alex as well and it has made her miserable having to keep some of who she is from Martin."

"Not saying is probably clever." Steve said. "I see the dark side of humanity everyday and all the attacks on people just because they are different."

"But by telling Alex to not say I put so much pressure on her. And after everything that happened with MJ, when Martin was the only one to stick by her, she deserved the right to tell him."

"Well she knows he knows now. And don't worry neither of us will say anything." Steve said.

"Thanks."

"I'm sure you are already, but you should be really proud of her. We are alive because of her." Steve said.

00

"Told you so." Kara said to her daughter when they left Steve's apartment. "Feel better?"

"I guess."

"But?"

"It doesn't change what happened to you or that I lost control."

"True, but I'm fine and you have control now."

"Only because I am wearing the necklace."

"You don't have to. You can try taking it off." Kara said.

"No." The teen said quickly.

"Okay. You can take as long as you need." Kara said before seeing her sister waiting in her car.

"Why are you still here?" Kara asked.

"Because you shouldn't be using your powers." Her sister said.

"I'm fine. But you should have told me you were here, you could have come in and had lunch."

"Alex brought me some." The older Alex said.

"She did?"

"Yes. Come on let's get you home. Mom really wants to see you." Alex said.
