A/N: Thanks for the reviews.
linda101- Thanks. I'm glad you are still enjoying it.
When Kara and her daughter stepped into the house Chewie scampered towards them before Kara found herself engulfed in a hug by Eliza.
"I'm okay." Kara said into the hug as Eliza silently held her. Eliza was still holding her when the teenage Kara limped into the hallway.
"What happened to your leg?" The teenage Alex asked seeing her cousin. "Did I do that?"
"No a branch did that." The teenage Kara said hugging her. "You okay?" She asked pulling away.
"I guess. Sorry about yesterday."
"Sorry for what? Nothing was your fault." The teenage Kara said as Eliza finally released her daughter.
"Is that chocolate pecan pie?" The older Kara asked sniffing.
"It is." Eliza smiled as MJ jogged down stairs, Diz behind him.
"Aunt Kara." MJ said before hugging her.
"Hi MJ." Kara said hugging him.
On seeing the bruises and scrapes on MJ's and Diz's arms and faces the teenage Alex said. "Sorry."
"You think I'm going to let you take credit for this?" MJ asked. "I already have enough problems at school."
"Sure you are okay?" The teenage Kara asked her cousin who silently nodded as the older Alex stood to one side carefully watching her sister.
"Why don't I take you four out for dinner?" Eliza suggested, realising Alex wanted to speak to her sister.
"But-" The teenage Alex started.
"You need to eat." Kara said. "You'll feel better when you have replaced your calories."
"What about you?"
"I just need to rest." Kara said. "And I would prefer to do that here than the DEO. So I will stay with your aunt." Seeing her daughter was still hesitating she hugged her and said. "I'll be here when you get back."

"How are you doing?" The older Alex asked when it was only her sister that remained.
"I wish I could have helped Alex more."
"You did everything you could and you helped her through it." Alex reminded her. "And I wasn't talking about Alex. I was talking about you. You were badly hurt. Again."
"I'm fine."
"Really? Because you look like crap."
"Well it's not like I have got much sleep or pizza." She said pointing to the empty coffee table.
"I've already placed the order when I saw you leave Steve's." Her sister said.
"Really?"
"Yes really. But I hope you are hungry, I thought the kids would be here, so I ordered way too much."
"No such thing." Kara smiled before falling silent. "She was right." Kara said after a few moments.
"Who?" The older Alex asked.
"Alex. I have made her run away her entire life."
"That was to protect her and she knows that." Her sister said.
"What if I have been too over protective?" Kara asked. "I was so convinced that the way to keep her safe was to hide who she was. But that led to her break down."
"Only in part. I mean there was her hormone spike as well as the fact she saw a headline saying you were dead."
"The worst part is I know more than anyone how hard it is to keep things hidden. And how good it feels when you tell someone. But instead on drawing on that I made her keep everything hidden."
"Kara she's still a kid and getting used to Earth, you were right to be cautious."
"I'm not so sure, you saw her."
"I know, but what if Steve had been the Steve I feared rather than the Steve you hoped for? You have seen how much hatred and fear exists. You wanted to protect Alex from that. And you have." Alex said as the doorbell rang. "I'll get the pizza."

When the teens and Eliza got home they saw Kara asleep on the couch leaning against Alex who was playing on her phone.
"Is mom okay?" The teenage Alex whispered as Chewie looked up from where he was sleeping.
"She's just tired." The older Alex smiled. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine." The teenager said, although her aunt noticed she was still wearing the necklace.
"We're going to watch some movies in the den." The teenage Kara said. "Do you want anything?"
"No, I'm fine." Her mother said before watching the group go.
As they reached the stairs the teenage Alex suddenly felt a wave of tiredness wash over her and the stairs seemed like an impossible task.
"Alex?" Eliza asked seeing her come to a standstill.
"I think I'm just going to sleep down here."
"You aren't being alone tonight." The teenage Kara said before MJ stood in front of her, his back to her, and crouched down.
"Hop on." MJ said.
"What?"
"Hop on." MJ said.
"I can walk."
"Doesn't look like it." MJ said before Alex hopped on his back and he carried her upstairs.

"Alex?" Kara asked confused the next morning when she realised she was leaning against her sister.
"'bout time you woke up, my leg went to sleep hours ago." Alex grumbled.
"Sorry." Kara said sitting up. "Where's Alex?"
"Upstairs with the others." Alex said stretching her leg.
"Was she okay last night?"
"She was worried about you, but she seemed calm." Alex said before asking. "Want some breakfast?"
"I'll go get some." Kara said.
"That's not what I meant." Alex said but Kara had already disappeared. Shaking her head Alex stood and stretched out the rest of body moments before Chewie came running into the room, closely followed by her niece.
"Hi Alex, how are you feeling?"
"Okay, where's mom?"
"Food run." Her aunt explained. "Why don't we go walk Chewie?"
"Okay." The teen said, sensing she didn't have much choice.
"How are you really doing?" The older Alex asked as they left the house.
"I feel like a freak."
"You're not."
"Why are you okay with me being near Kara and MJ?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm dangerous, I could hurt them. I did hurt them."
"Well, everyone has the capacity to be dangerous and to hurt others. You don't need powers for that." Her aunt said. "What matters is intent. And I know you'd never intentionally hurt anyone."
"How do you know that?"
"Your mom is well your mom." Alex pointed out. "Besides if you had bad intentions we wouldn't be having this conversation would we?"
"I guess not."
"What you need though is to trust yourself as much as we trust you."
"What do you mean?"
"You are still wearing the necklace."
"You said my hormone levels would bounce for a couple of weeks."
"Is that all it is?" The older Alex pressed.
"No. I'm scared I will lose it again."
"If you ask me the best way to get over this is to train more."
"Mom says that's your answer for everything."
"Does she also tell you I'm always right?"
"No."
"Well she's a slow learner. You're not."

Having walked into the kitchen Kara put the bags on the table before wondering where everyone was. She didn't have too much time to question it though as Eliza quickly entered and hugged her.
"I'm okay." Kara promised her.
"I was so sure you-"
"I'm okay." Kara repeated.
"You must have been so scared." Eliza said pulling away and looking at her.
"More about what would happen to Alex, rather than me." Kara said.
"For once don't be brave and don't tell me what you think I want to hear. Are you okay?"
"Physically? I'm fine. But it will take awhile to get over what happened." Kara confessed.
"Take your time." Eliza said before pleading. "And please don't make me go through that again."
"I'll try." Kara said as the front door opened and closed before Chewie scampered into kitchen searching for food, followed by the two Alexes.
Seeing her daughter Kara immediately hugged her asking. "How are you doing?"
"Okay."
"So why aren't you still asleep?" Kara asked.
"Wasn't tired." The teen shrugged.
"I have to go to the DEO." Alex said. "And you need to come with me." She added looking at her sister.
"Fine." Kara said unenthusiastically.
"Let her eat first." Eliza said.
"Like I could stop her." The older Alex said.
00
"Well?" Kara asked.
"Everything looks normal." Alex said walking towards her sister who sat in the lamp room. When Kara didn't say anything Alex asked. "What aren't you telling me?"
"Sorry what?" Kara asked.
"What's wrong?"
"Sorry, I was just thinking about what Lobo said. You think the chemical he was talking about what 'the chemical'?"
"Didn't you say he credited humans with the creation?" Alex asked.
"Well he may not know about the Grattlok." Kara said as the door opened.
"How are you feeling?" Lena asked entering the infirmary.
"I'm fine."
"And Alex?"
"Too scared to remove the necklace. "
"I may be able to help." Lena said. "I've got an idea which I think will work, if Alex promises to be sensible."
"What is it?" Kara asked.
"It's another necklace that will suppress Alex's psychic powers. But it is DNA coded so only Alex can activate it. So it is her decision, she's in control and it can't be used against her. But you also the ability to deactivate it." Lena explained. "I tried to replicate the crystal you brought back from Dakran." She said showing Kara the necklace. "It should work in a similar way to their crystals. I'm not sure if Alex would ever use a crystal like they do, but using one to capture her power rather than just to repress her power seemed more natural."
"Thanks." Kara said taking the necklace.
As the two sisters walked out Lena stopped Alex who looked at her.
"Are you okay?" Lena asked.
"Yes, why?"
"You look like you are about to collapse."
"It's just lack of sleep, I'm fine."

"We're back and I am still fine." The older Kara said as she and her sister entered the house. She then looked at her daughter and asked.
"How are you feeling?"
"Okay."
"Want to walk Chewie?" Kara asked her daughter.
"Sure." She said, sensing it wan't really a question.
"We'll be back soon." Kara said the others as she led her daughter outside the house with Chewie. "So how are you really doing?"
"Still tired, and still scared of losing control." The teen said.
"It will get better, I promise." Kara said leading her to a bench. "We saw Lena today."
"Has she found something else wrong with me?"
"There is nothing wrong with you." Kara said.
"Ignoring the whole hormone thing that makes it impossible to control my emotions?"
"Technically that hormone thing is a natural process." Kara reminded her. "And it will be over soon."
"When? Because crying during Disney movies sucks."
"No, it shows how much you have invested in that movie. And everyone cries during Bambi. Just thinking about Bambi makes me cry."
"It wasn't Bambi. It was Zootopia."
"Why were you watching – never mind not important. There are some sad scenes in Zootopia."
"MJ chose it as he said not even you cried during it." Alex said.
"Well, have there been any plate incidents?"
"No."
"There you go, that's progress."
"Think you have lowered the bar a bit too much." The teen said. "So what did Lena want if not to tell you I'm screwed."
"She made this for you." Kara said taking out the necklace. "This crystal is like your father's crystal, it will absorb your powers. When it is activated the crystal is exposed and will absorb everything. When it isn't then you use your powers like normal. The necklace is DNA coded so only you, me and your aunt can activate it"
"Can we add more people?"
"Um sure. Who are you thinking?"
"Kara, MJ, Diz. They are always the ones who pay for me losing control."
"I'll talk to Lena." Kara smiled. "But for now, let's put it on." Once she had secured it wound her daughter's neck she removed the DEO necklace. Seeing her daughter tense she added. "It's okay, you are in control. And the crystal will absorb everything. Want to try covering it?"
"Okay." The teen said, clearly not wanting to, before deactivating the necklace.
"See, you're fine." Kara said when nothing bad happened.
"Can I reactivate it?"
"It's your decision." Kara said looking at her daughter.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"But you don't want me to."
"I don't want anything to stop you being you. But if you want a safety net that's fine. This is about you and what you need." Kara said.
"Not sure Chewie agrees." The teen said as the dog scratched her leg seeking attention."
"You're right, it is all about Chewie, then you." Kara smiled.

When the teenage Kara and Diz returned to the house that evening Kara entered the lounge and saw her mother passed out on the couch. Finding a blanket she quietly placed it on her mother before backing out of the room, turning the light off as she did so. She then quietly walked upstairs followed by Diz.
Seeing the light on in the Den she entered and saw MJ and Eliza playing a card game.
"Hi." Eliza smiled looking over at them.
"Hey." Kara said. "Where's Alex and aunt Kara?"
"Alex got pretty tired so they went home about an hour ago." Eliza said.
"Is mom okay?"
"She's just tired." Eliza replied. "How's your leg?"
"It's okay." The teenage Kara said.
"But you still shouldn't be standing on it." Diz pointed out.
"Fine." The teenage Kara said sitting down on the couch. She then looked at her brother and asked. "What are you playing."
"Some ancient game that makes no sense."
"So you're losing?" Diz guessed.
"Yes." MJ confirmed.
"Wanna play Settlers?" Kara suggested.
