The Kingdom of Amnesia Part 1
The scene opens up with the group having returned to the white walls of Castle Obilivion with the blank door opening up for them and closed once all of them were through. Just then Hiro stops and thinks, his face showed he was thinking hard on something. It only took a few seconds before Lilac noticed
"Hey, what's up Hiro?" Lilac asked concerned making the others stop and turn to look at them.
"It's that creepy castle that I was talking about earlier…" Hiro admits to the group "I know now I can be naïve at times, but I for sure know I didn't imagine this." Emerl and Togami look at each other with concerned expressions.
"I wouldn't know but…. what makes this castle special in your mind Hiro?" J asked him
"It's because that was the castle where Emerl had used the Keyblade of Hearts to free Jenny's heart. Then he just disappeared!" Hiro explained.
After the incident was mentioned, a wave of memories flooded into the heroes heads, even J got these memories despite never being there. It was surprising to get this experience from an outside perspective.
"I was so very worried when that happened." Hiro added "How could I ever forget that?"
"Oh right, I recall it now." Doom said in realization. "That was when Emerl turned into Dark Emerl, his Heartless"
"Yeah, but…hang on…that all happened in a castle?" Lilac asked confused.
"Gee, you forgot that. How predictable." Togami said shaking his head "I remember it perfectly."
"Then what's it called?" Emerl challenged.
"Please, that's an easy one! It was…." Togami began but stopped as the others look and his eyes widen in shock as he was blanking
"He…doesn't know does he?" Lilac asked
"I believe so." Doom said nodding.
"Well, I also remember but I know I was never there." J said thinking "But…hey RiCO, can you help us out? Aren't you a journal keeper?"
"Indeed, I took over after the previous on left and I like her kept track of every word" RiCO said appearing and holding an electronic pad. "I finished the first volume that I took over making before we made it to this castle."
"That sounds handy" Hiro said smiling.
"Now then…let's have a look…." RiCO said scrolling through her work and she suddenly gets shocked "Oh! This is impossible! How can this be?!"
"What's wrong RiCO?" Doom asked concerned.
"All my entrees, and the ones in this before I took over, they're gone!" RiCO said holding the pad so the screen faces them and they see the files were blank "Every virtual file is blank!"
"What do we do?!" Lilac said worried
"This has never happened with me before!" RiCO said concerned "I am always careful with my work!" She then cries "Now it's all just…gone…"
"The Journals blank…. just what is going on here?" Emerl asked concerned.
"I don't know but…I feel something in this castle or the castle itself is to blame." J said going and comforting RiCO
The scene changes to the white room at the highest point of the castle. We see once again the female jet robot girl seated at a table drawing on her pad again. Brutaka was watching her for Marr
"Phase 1 of the plan is done. I'm beginning the next part" she said to him simply
"Good to hear, you're doing a good job." Brutaka said with a grin.
The scene comes back to the third floor. RiCO walks with them working on her pad frantically, trying to find the journel entries, in hopes of recovering them. But for some reason it was like all traces of them were erased. Did she erase them?
"Something is very strange is going on." Lilac said thinking on it "Journal entrees don't just vanish without a trace!"
"What if….it's more things?" Emerl asked stopping making the others stop and look at him questionaly "Hiro was telling us about another castle we went to. But no one here remembered it. Do you think that maybe…the reason we couldn't remember it is because we're losing our memories?"
"Losing our memories?" Togami asked in surprise
"Hmmmmm…maybe." J said thinking "Remember what Master Marr said back when you all first got here. 'In this place, to find is to lose, and to lose is to find.' If I had to guess that your memories are what he was talking about…through why I am effected by this too I don't know."
"So, if we keep going and continuing we'll lose more memories…" Doom said thinking "I guess this place really does live up to being called Castle Oblivion after all."
"So, the higher we go, the more we'll forget." Togami concluded "I assume that includes everything and everybody will be forgotten?"
"Metal and Jenny too." Emerl said sadly.
J looks at them sympathetically and asked, "Do you perhaps, want to go back?"
"Hey, don't worry you guys!" Hiro said approaching them smiling "We might forget about where we've been or what's been seen, but I know we'll never forget who our friends are."
"I don't know about that…" Lilac said doubtful.
"Come on Emerl, when you turned into Dark Emerl, did you forget about me, Togami, Lilac, Doom and Oscar?" Hiro asked.
"Of course I didn't!" Emerl said shaking his head "I would never forget you guys or Oscar."
"And that there proves me right!" Hiro said proudly. "No matter what happens, you won't forget your friends."
"Never thought I live to see the day you were right on anything." Togami said almost impressed.
"It's a proud day" Lilac said nodding.
Hiro's words struck right into Emerl's heart as he is flooded with a wave of memories. How could he ever forget the day he first met Oscar, Togami and Hiro when the latter two landed on him and Oscar? Or the time they met Doom who joined them on their mission? Or when Lilac joined them after helping them and RiCO took over as Chronicler. These memories made Emerl giving a smiling look.
"You're right." Emerl said nodding "Thanks Hiro."
"So, if there isn't anything here that'll make you forget your friends…then we shouldn't have anything to be scared of." Togami deduces and heads for the blank door "Let's go!"
"Although I do recall someone being extra cruel to me that made me want to get revenge as Dark Emerl internally." Emerl said smirking.
Togami stops and said "I look forward for when you forget that"
The group laughed happily at that. Once they reached the blank door, as a sign of thanks the group decided Hiro would pick the card of the next world. J shuffled the four cards and held them face down. Hiro pulled one out and Emerl uses on the door. The group then vanish in a flash of light.
The group could see again when the bright light faded and saw they were in a forest made up of trees and mushrooms. It was strange but not unpleasant as they walked through the forest.
Lilac hearing something stopped and said "Hey, someone's coming."
They then sees two men running up to them both were dressed as plumbers, one was in red and was the shorted and had an M on his cap. The other was taller in green and had an L on his cap.
"Mario! Slow down!" The taller one called out
"No Luigi! If we don't make it their now who knows what Bowser will do!" The one known as Mario said before colliding with Emerl
"Woah!" Emerl yelped falling down
"Oh…sorry" Mario said getting up
"Are you both alright?" Doom asked
"Yeah…I'm good" Emerl said being helped up by Mario
"Well then, you can tell us what the rush it about then" Togami said to them.
"Well first my name is Mario, this is my brother Luigi." Mario said
"I'm J, these are Emerl, Togami, Hiro, Lilac and Doom." J said introducing them.
"So why are you in a hurry?" Doom asked.
"It's Princess Peach, she's been kidnapped by Bowser, the King of the Koopas!" Mario said.
"This isn't anything new, but we heard Bowser was putting Peach on trial for something."
"What did she do?" Emerl asked
"That's the thing, we feel she's been falsely accused." Mario said "We're on our way to save her. Come on Luigi!"
The two brothers run off.
"Huh…for such a peaceful looking place, this seems like a dangerous one too" J said
"If I had to guess, the Heartless are behind the crime Peach is accused of." Emerl said thinking
-Mushroom Kingdom-
As the others return to their cards leaving only Emerl and J, the two set out to explore the jungle, Emerl gaining a Key of Beginnings as well. Emerl recalls when he and Metal would explore the jungles of Destiny Island. It taught him some of the skills he has now. As they moved they got into some Heartless fights
"Boy this place is filled with Heartless, must be the darkness of the thick jungle." J said
"Maybe" Emerl said as they go through a doorway
Once through they found themselves in a completely different location, it was a sinister looking castle surrounded by lava.
"Well, isn't that charming" J said sarcastically.
"Yeah, I guess this is Bowser's castle." Emerl said nodding.
The two fight Shadow and Soldier Heartless also some Large Body Heartless who have joined the fray to fight but J's speedy nature allowed her to get behind them to attack them. Emerl then finds the door for the Key of Beginnings and uses it.
The group had caught up to Mario and Luigi as they all enter into the Koopa Castle.
"Why are you here?" Mario asked them
"We want to help" Doom said to them
"Thanks, we normally can do this ourselves but we'll welcome the help" Luigi said nodding
The group move closer and see the area where the trial was being held. They see a blond haired woman in a pink dress standing on a stand, in front of her on a throne was a turtle dragon like being in a spikey shell, these were no doubt Princess Peach and Bowser
Next to Bowser was a Koopa in a wizard outfit and holding a wand. He cleared his throat and said "This trial will now come to order! Princess Peach, do you understand the charges held against you?"
"I do not, Kamek!" Peach yelled out. "I have done nothing wrong, and you should know that Bowser!"
"Ha! Feigning ignorance? I would find that charming if this wasn't serious" Bowser said smirking "Your charges are simple, you are aiding these creatures known as Heartless to threaten my kingdom!"
"That is completely ridiculous!" Peach said in shock "If you think I am responsible where is your evidence?"
"I have the evidence and it is simple….I forgot!" Bowser yelled out slamming his fist on his throne armrest "That there is the evidence!"
"To better explain, Peach, you are the one who stole our illustrious leader's memory." Kamek explained "We can't banish the Heartless from our kingdom until we get his memories back. This crime is most serious."
"Bowser you know me, I am incapable of this kind of magic!" Peach said to the Koopa King "Are you sure you didn't just forget these things?"
"Never! I would never have forgotten anything so carelessly!" Bowser said anger "I would have gone easy on you if you just apologised but now forget it! Now I think I'll turn you into a statue!"
"Hey you can't do that!" Emerl said jumping down
"Uh, Emerl?" Hiro asked concerned
"He's right!" Mario said as he and Luigi followed
"Huh? Mario! And his scardy cat brother and who's this?" Bowser said surprised.
"This trial is nothing but a farce!" Emerl claimed "You should investigate it before you accuse innocent people!"
"He's right Bowser! You may be not the smartest at times but even you are not this idiotic!" Mario states
"Hmmmm…it's true Peach isn't capable of this but that means…." Bowser said thinking and then smirks "That means you the Mario Bros' are the thieves!"
"What?!" Mario and Luigi said shocked.
"No hold on!" Emerl said "I'm the thief!"
"What are you doing?!" J asked
"Well what else was I to say?" Emerl said.
"Anything but that!" Togami states.
"Koopa Troopas! Seize them all at once!" Kamek orders
Suddenly several Koopa Troopas in back spikey armour jump in to fight the group.
"Mario, Luigi get Peach out of here!" J said readying her claws "We'll hold them off!"
The fight begin but unlike other fights it was against the Koopatrol Koopa Troopas Emerl and J kept the only way out of this room covered as they fought them. Emerl knocks on down and used him to bowl over several of them.
J meanwhile used a new weapon arm a missile launcher to fire some missles aimed at the ground to send some flying up and she kicks them at Bowser knocking him off his throne and unconscious. Kamek attempted to cast a spell but Emerl knocks the last Koopa Troopa into him as well.
When the battle was done a black card appears with the image of the Koopa Troopa's they were fighting on it. Emerl takes it and puts it with the other black cards.
"Phew…" Emer sighs panting, they were easy but there were a lot of them but J's weapons on crowd control made it easier
"Hey, where's Peach and the Mario brothers?" Lilac asked
"They must have managed to get away during the fighting." Doom said thinking.
"They may have escaped! But you won't!" Bowser said having recovered. He then whistles and more Koopa Troopas arrived
"I think we've beaten more that we can chew!" Hiro said concerned
"I think this calls for a tactical retreat!" Togami said
"Yeah, let's run!" Emerl said and runs as he gains a Key of Guidance card.
The group flees as the Koopa Troopa's give chase. Little did they know or even Bowser, a Possessor Heartless that was watching this sees them and moves to the castle's garages and enters into something, that thing's lights turn on almost like eyes.
Once again the group interrupt the trial of the Koopa king but this time they have to flee the kings guards, little do they know something sinister is afoot.
