The Kingdom of Amnesia Part 2
We rejoin the heroes as they make there way through the Koopa Keep dungeons, the way they came was blocked off by many of Bowser's troops.
"I still don't get why we can't just fight our way out?" Emerl said to J
"Because that will slow us down" J said "Now let's keep moving"
Emerl nods and they move through the corridors avoiding the heartless roaming around and come to the door for the Key of Guidance card. He uses it on the door and it opens.
The group run into an open area in the dungeons and found the Mario Bros and Peach there catching their breath.
"Man, things were getting crazy back their, are you guys alright?" Lilac asked
"Oh yeah!" Luigi said giving a thumbs up
"Yeah, we got into a bit of a scuffle ourselves but nothing we couldn't handle" Mario said nodding
"I don't want to be ungrateful but…is it true what you said?" Peach asked "About you being the thief?"
"What no way!" Emerl said shaking his head "Why would I steal the king's memory?"
"Indeed, Emerl only said that to save…" Hiro began to say but Togami cuts him off
"He only wanted to show off" Togami stated. Emerl pouts as the group laugh
"Well regardless of the reason, you helped Mario and Luigi save me all the same" Peach said smiling and bows "Thank you"
"That's good but we're not safe yet, how can we get out of here?" Doom asked
Suddenly a ringtone is heard and the group look around, Luigi realizes it's from him and pulls out the Dual Scream and flips it open and there on the top screen was a scentist looking fellow
"Ah Luigi my boy, so glad you picked up, did you and Mario save the princess?" The man said
"Oh hey Professor " Mario said looking over Luigi's shoulder "We did, but we had some help."
"But we hit a snag, we're stuck in the palace and the main entrance is heavily guarded." Luigi said nervous
"Oh dear, that is not good, Bowser may be a tyrant but he has his own sense of justice to say the least" said sighing
"and knowing him he won't stop until he remembers what he forget and knows he got his memories back." Peach said sighing.
"I am more concerned in why the Heartless would take his memories" Hiro said thinking
"It doesn't matter, I say we just stay clear of him" Emerl said to the group
"But Emerl, think about Peach" RiCO said appearing
"Yeah, if Bowser catches her again she is a statue" J said in agreement
"Catching her isn't new for Bowser but that statue thing will be" Mario points out.
"Well, I guess that means we have to do something about Bowser" Emerl suggested
"We should get out of here before planning anything drastic" Doom suggests
"Hmmmm, there is the secret warp pipe, located in the castle garden you can take" suggested typing
"Then that is where we will go" Luigi said nodding
"Indeed, through this thing about memory, usually when one forgets and tries to remember, the more memory might lie to them?" said thinking
"Lie?" Emerl said thinking "Thanks professor."
"Anytime" said smiling
Once Luigi put the Duel Scream away the group head off, Emerl gaining the Key of Truth card for it. As he and J begin moving Emerl works on his deck rearranging some cards, he even entered into the card effect slot the Teridax card which granted the Attack Bracer ability making it so enemies couldn't interrupted attacks for 20 attacks. His card gauntlet turned to resemble the Mask of Shadows.
"Wow, that is cool." Emerl said smiling.
"I guess so, bit creepy though." J admits and Emerl nods
They move through the dungeons carefully avoiding guards and heartless and soon came to a door to use the Key of Truth on it and the door opens as they enter.
The group found themselves in a large lush garden which was impressive given it in a volcanic like environment. A Singular Warp pipe stood in the centre of it.
"Wow, this place is amazing." Hiro said looking around
"I think this place has a magic spell over it to protect it from the outside volcanic lava" Peach said thinking
"That's the secret pipe we need to take to get out of here" Mario said pointing to the Warp pipe
"Then let's go!" Luigi said and runs to the pipe only to be knocked back as the path to the pipe is blocked off by several Koopa Troopas, Kamek and Bowser
"Did you really think I didn't expect you to use the secret Warp Pipe?" Bowser said with a smirk
"Not good." Togami said as everyone gets into battle positions.
"It's over intruders! You surrounded" Kamek said as more Koope Troopas come out of the way they came in
"Indeed, now for your punishments. For stealing my memory, I sentence you to…" Bowser began but thinks "I sentence you to…" His eyes widen after a flash and he holds his head "I…sentence…"
"Your excellency?" Kamek asked confused.
"Huh? Mario, Peach? What's going on?" Bowser asked confused "Why are we outside my castle?"
"What?!" Lilac said surprised and confused.
"Kamek! What is going one?!" Bowser yelled at his chief Magic Koopa "I don't remember a darn thing!"
"What is wrong with him?" Emerl asked the group.
"If I were to hazard a guess, maybe someone stole his memory again." J said thinking
Suddenly the area shakes as mechanical steps are heard
"Look out, something's coming!" Peach said.
Soon bursting out the side of the mountain and entering the Garaden was a large three legged black mech with a face resembling a Shifit, on the side was the Heartless Emblem and on top was a cylinder containing the Possesser Heartless.
"The Megaleg! But how it has no powersouce!" Kamek said as the Koopa Troopas move to get Bowser to safety.
"See that symbol, it's the Heartless!" Togami said "And if I have to guess that may also be the souce of Bowser's memory issues"
"Seems likely, Hey Mario and Luigi keep Peach safe while we deal with this!" Emerl said
The Mario Bros nod and Mario adds "That dome on it's head is it's weak spot!" The three go to join the Koopas
J grabs Emerl and flies him to the top of the Megaleg and they land on it. The Possessor Heartless emerges grom the drome, it's form resembling the Megaleg now with a similar head and slams a hand down on the two but they dodge it.
"For some reason I feel this is different from when I last faced this." Emerl said
"Not sure if this is the castle's reason or not but least it means we don't have to face a very giant enemy" J said
The two move round the area while the Possessor tries to swat them off the Megaleg, meanwhile the main mech body moves round the castle intent on crushing it from the front. J flies around and shoots at the Processor Heartless but gets swatted back.
Emerl then took the oppetunity to whack it on the head temperarly dazing it. He then attempts to use All-Might to do some damage but the Possessor Heartless recovers and cancels the attack and then does a shadowy AOE wave attack knocking him back and nearly off the Megaleg but J saved him
"Phew, this guy is tough!" Emerl said as he fires off an ice spell at the Posessor.
"Well we have to finish him off fast or this castle is crushed" J notes swinging him and fires some shots
Emerl rushes and gets off some hits. J slashes and counters the Posseser and Emerl uses this to do a sliding dash followed up with a jump and a slash and that was enough to beat the Possessor Heartless and the Megaleg in turn.
The dome on the Megaleg cracks and shatters as the Possessor Heartless roars as it begins to dissipate. The Megaleg collapse crushing one of the castles border walls and the Possessor Heartless begins to vanish and them it's essence reforms into a Boss Enemy card featuring the Megaleg which Emerl claims and puts it with the other black cards
"Woah, that was incradable guys" Mario said as he, Luigi and Peach go up to them
"Indeed, you took it down with ease" Luigi said smiling
"Didn't feel easy" Lilac said scratching her head
"Hey! You lot!" Bowser said approaching them with Kamek "What is the meaning of this? Why did that creature hijack one of my machines of conquest?!"
"How would we know?" Emerl said shrugging.
"Are you hiding something from me?! I will have my interrogators pry it from you!" Bowser said angered. "Kamek, have them arrested!"
"Bowser hold on!" Peach said "Don't tell me you forgotten?"
"Huh?" Bowser said confused
"Oh yeah, you told us a creature was causing trouble in your castle, out of options you allowed us to take care of it for you" Mario said nodding
"I did?" Bowser asked.
"What?" Hiro said confused.
"Yeah, in fact you didn't trust us completely to do the task" Luigi said "But we helped you all the same and fought it even when it hijacked the Megaleg."
"Isn't that right everyone?" Peach asked
"We did?" Emerl said
"Of course we did! Oh great Bowser" J said bowing
"Kamek, is this true?" Bowser said looking at him
"Uhhh…." Kamek said and sees the Mario Bros with hammers "Yes my lord! A truly wise plan from you! Don't you remember?"
"What do you take me for?! I never forget anything!" Bowser said angered by the insinuation "Of course I allowed my most hated enemies to take care of this nuisance. And I will admit you did an adamant job. You may leave my kingdom now" Bowser said and turns to go back inside "Kamek, get some men to clean this mess up!"
"At once my liege!" Kamek said following him.
"Phew…that was close" Luigi said relieved.
"Impressive and way to improvise you three" Doom said with a smile.
"I wouldn't have thought of it if the Peach hadn't" Mario points out.
"I just recall what said, about if you try hard to remember, your memory might lie to you." Peach said giggling "Bowser would never admit he forgot something, his pride won't let him."
"Yeah, so instead he remembered that didn't happen!" Lilac said giggling "He basically fooled himself"
Togami looks and sees Emerl thinking and asked "Emerl, what is it?"
"Oh, nothing." Emerl said and looks to the Bros and Peach "Well I guess you guys are safe now."
"Yeah and plus side the King of the Koopas won't be bothering us anymore" Hiro said with a smile "I mean, we did get rid of the Heartless like he ordered!"
"Oh geez…did you get fooled too Hiro?" J asked face palming.
The group laugh as they went their separate ways after using the pipe. With our heroes seeing the exit door and going to it, having completed this world.
Another world dealt with and a new Boss card for the collection, onward to the next hallway
