A/N: Thanks for the reviews.

Baratta jennifer -Thank you.

"Anything?" Alex asked as the DEO squad returned from their latest search of the area.

"No ma'am." Cork said. "Just like we thought, it was an affluent area. No unoccupied buildings. Crime rate unchanged and no sign of anything strange."

"Yet there is a high concentration of the drug in the sewers there." Alex sighed looking at the map.

"And we have confirmed it has been processed enough that it has passed through human bodies." Vasquez said.

"So why the hell aren't we seeing signs it is being used?" Alex asked.

"No idea." Vasquez said. "We could send in someone undercover. Go live in one of the apartment blocks."

"It's too dangerous." Alex said. "If they are found out they will be killed and we have no way of figuring out whose identities have been leaked."

"What about Malaise?" Kara asked.

"What about him?"

"What is he up to? I can't believe he is doing nothing. So where is he?"

"We have been looking for increases in suicides and depression, but there is so much data and not enough patterns." Vasquez said.

"We have to be missing something." Kara said.

"If Tycho's transfer happened, he'll be rebuilding. If he can jump bodies, time isn't really an issue. He is going for the long game." Alex said.

"Which doesn't help find him." Kara pointed out.

"No it doesn't." Alex agreed.

"What about the chemical? As in the one that can harm Alex."

"As in the one that can harm you as well?" Her sister asked. "In fact it did harm you."

"Yes that one."

"Still trying to prefect an antidote. What worries me is they might be working on a new version."

"Or using my father's research for something deadly." Kara said standing. "I have to get back to CatCo, call if anything comes up."

"Of course." Alex said watching her sister leave before turning back to Vasquez and asking "Anything more on those journals?"

"No, nothing. And General Lane isn't giving us anything to go on."

"Maybe that is because we are asking rather than the President." Alex said.

As the older Alex walked into her lounge that evening she saw her daughter on the couch.

"What's wrong?" She immediately asked.

"Nothing." Her daughter said standing and hugging her.

"Did I know you were coming?"

"No. Last minute decision." The teen said.

"You sure you are okay?" Alex asked.

"I'm fine." Her daughter said. "How are you doing?"

"I'm okay." Alex replied.

"You sure, you sound a little confused." Her daughter pointed out.

"Just surprised to see you."

"Alex is stressing about college applications so I said I would help."

"Well I'm happy to see you." Her mother smiled. "But how did you get here?"

"Aunt Kara, but then there was some emergency so she flew off."

"You here for dinner?"

"No, I was going out with Alex. Which having seen the fridge is just as well."

"There's food." Her mother said.

"A lump of cheese doesn't count." The teen said before asking. "Are you around tomorrow?"

"Umm, yes. Why?"

"I thought we could hang out."

"As much as I would love that, don't you have a boyfriend to hang out with?"

"He and MJ have their car thing, so I am free all day." The teen said as the front door opened moments before her cousin came into the house.

"Kara?" She greeted confused.

"Hey Alex." The teenage Kara said hugging her cousin.

"What are you doing here?"

"You and me are going to talk colleges." The teenage Kara said before looking at her mother and saying. "We'll see you later."

"See you." The older Alex said, watching them go before looking at Chewie and saying. "Just us then."

00

"Hi." The older Kara said entering her sister's house.

"Everything okay?" Alex asked.

"Yeah."

"You sure? You are a little smokey." Alex pointed out.

"Shoot, I'll just go shower, I'll be back in a moment." Kara said disappearing in a blur. As she did so Alex looked at Chewie and asked.

"What do you think she'll want? Pizza? Potstickers? Wing night?"

As Chewie started barking Alex added. "I asked what she'd want not you."

"I'm back." Kara said coming into the house. As she did so Chewie ran to her looking for food. "Hey." She said lifting him up. "Has no one fed you? I know how you feel."

"I don't know which one of you is worse." Alex said joining the pair in the hallway.

"Does that mean there is food?"

"I was just ordering some in." Alex said before saying. "You didn't tell me you were getting Kara."

"Sorry, it was a very last minute thing." Kara said. "I only knew about an hour ago. Is she with Alex?"

"Yes, they have gone to dinner."

"And MJ?"

"Basketball practice."

"So sisters' night?" Kara asked.

"I assumed you were going to say that." Alex said.

00

"Morning." The teenage Alex yawned as she walked out of her bedroom the next day.

"Hi." Kara smiled. "How did it go last night?"

"Narrowed to twenty."

"You don't seem happy about it."

"I am."

"But?"

"The best ones are on the other side of the country."

"Define best?"

"The ones with the courses I want to do."

"You do remember I can fly around the world really quickly?" Kara asked.

"You have mentioned that a few times." The teen said.

"So distance doesn't really matter." Kara said.

"What if something happens to you though? I can't fly across the country."

"J'onn can." Kara pointed out. "I love that you are so responsible and serious, but you are still a kid, you need to have fun and not worry about stuff like this." She pointed out. "Why don't you get dressed then we'll go look at some of them."

"What about breakfast?"

"We'll get it there."

00

"Hi." The teenage Alex called entering her cousins' house that evening.

"Lounge." MJ called back.

"Hi." The older Alex greeted as her niece came into the lounge. Seeing her mother wasn't with her she asked. "Everything okay?"

"Mom had a Supergirl thing, so can I hang here?"

"Of course you can." Her aunt said. "How was college hunting?"

"Good I guess. Seemed to involve a lot of food though."

"I can imagine." Her aunt said.

"So where'd you go?" MJ asked.

"Boston, New Jersey, New York." The teen listed.

"In one day?" The older Alex asked.

"Mom had a schedule, well a plan, like I said it involved food." The teen said.

"You doing anything now?" MJ asked.

"No."

"Want to play Settlers?" MJ asked.

"Sure."

"Not so fast." The older Alex said. "What about your homework?"

"I will do it tomorrow morning." MJ said before adding. "I promise."

"Fine." His mother agreed. "But no video games until all your homework is done."

00

"Hey." The adult Kara said walking into the lounge an hour later.

"Everything okay?" Her sister asked, not taking her eyes off the game.

"Fine. Aren't you missing a couple of teens?"

"No, Kara is staying with Diz tonight." Her sister explained before proclaiming. "And that is ten victory points."

"Should have done my homework instead." MJ grumbled.

"There's leftovers in the kitchen if you are hungry." Alex said to her sister.

"Thanks." She replied disappearing.

"You two tidy up and then take Chewie for a walk." Alex instructed the teens before chasing after her sister.

"Everything okay?" Alex asked.

"I guess. Lot's of road accidents tonight. Thanks for looking after Alex."

"No problem." Her sister smiled. "Sure you are okay?"

"I'm fine. But do you want to watch a movie? I'm not very tried."

"Sure, you can even pick the movie." Alex said.

"As in any movie?" Kara asked hopefully.

"Sure."

"You feeling okay?" Kara asked frowning.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"You are giving me free reign."

"You always have free reign." Alex reminded her.

"Yeah, but you like to pretend I don't."

"I'm just being efficient." Alex shrugged. "Why don't you pick the movie, I'll bring you in some food."

"Okay." Kara said grabbing a cookie before returning to the lounge leaving Alex to reheat the dinner.

When Alex went to the lounge a couple of minutes later with the food she found her sister sprawled out on the couch asleep.

"So much for not being tired." Alex said quietly, putting the plate down before placing a blanket over her sister before returning to the kitchen with the uneaten food.

00

"Is mom okay?" The teenage Alex asked twenty minutes later when she returned with MJ from walking Chewie.

"Just tired." Her aunt said. "Unless you know something I don't."

"No." The teen said before pausing and then adding. "But it feels like she is being Supergirl more at the moment."

"I'll make sure she doesn't overdo it." Her aunt assured her before asking. "You want to stay here tonight?"

"Sure." The teenage Alex said causing MJ to go to the cupboards.

"What are you doing?" His mother asked.

"If Alex is staying we can have a games night, as in video games. But for that we need snacks." He said grabbing supplies.

"Don't forget you have homework to do tomorrow. Don't stay up all night." His mother warned.

"We won't." He said leaving with his cousin and Chewie. Once they had gone Alex went back to reviewing the latest translations from the journals.
