Baratta jennifer -Thank you.
"Any sign of weakness?" Alex asked as she approached Vasquez who was watching footage of Indomitable.
"Not so far." Vasquez said. "But so far he hasn't really been tested. What we know is he can fly, has super strength and can blow out really fast."
"Freeze breath?"
"Not exactly. It seems different from Supergirl's."
"What about Cam's powers? Does he have them?"
"Haven't confirmed all of them yet." Vasquez said. "Looking at the footage, I am pretty sure he is holding back."
"So we aren't learning anything?"
"Not really."
"What about the highflying business guy?"
"Brett Chandler?" Vasquez asked.
"Yes." Alex confirmed.
"Still nothing. The police have not got anywhere. The strange thing is, they aren't being pressurised by his family."
"Any idea why?"
"No. But we thought Kara might be able to ask, in a journalist capacity."
"I'll call her." Alex said.

Knocking on the door Kara waited until a grey haired man opened the door.
"Can I help you?"
"I hope so. I am Kara Danvers from CatCo magazine-"
"We're not interested in a subscription."
"I'm not selling them. I am looking into missing person cases in National City." Kara said. "And your son's case came across my desk. It had similarities to other cases."
"Any you think you can solve them?" The man asked.
"Maybe not, but maybe I can help. Surely, even if it is a small chance it is worth ten minutes of your time."
"Hope is a dangerous thing Ms … Danvers was it?"
"Hope can also give strength." Kara countered.
"Ten minutes and please don't lead my wife down a dead end."
"Of course." Kara said following him into the house.
"Hello?" A woman greeted as Kara entered the lounge.
"This is a reporter. She is looking into missing persons." The man said gruffly.
"You are looking for Brett?" The woman asked.
"I'm looking into several missing persons." Kara said.
"Would you like some tea?"
"She isn't staying long." The man said before looking at Kara and saying.
"When was the last time you saw your son?"
"About a week before he disappeared." The woman said. "He was different. Happy. He had this self confidence about him."
"He was always self confident." The father said.
"But not like this." The woman said. "He had this unwavering belief in himself."
"Did this change happen quickly?" Kara asked.
"We don't see him often, he is always working." The woman said.
"Did he mention any vitamins he might be taking?" Kara asked.
"Vitamins?" The woman asked.
"Are you suggesting he was a drug addict?" The man asked.
"No. But some of the missing subscribed to a certain vitamin." Kara lied. "I was just looking for a connection."
"He wasn't a hippie." The man said gruffly.
"Have the police given you any news?"
"They told us it was probably suicide and they'll probably never find the body." The woman said.
"Who told you that?" Kara asked.
"A Detective Miller."

"You want to go do some training?" Kara asked.
"You have time?"
"Of course. So desert? Or your aunt's house of horrors?"
"Actually, can we just hang out."
"As in not train?" Kara asked.
"Yes."
"You feeling okay?" Kara asked frowning.
"Yes, I just thought it would be more fun to hang out."
"Did you just us the f word? Who are you and what have you done with my daughter?" Kara smiled.
"That's not funny." The teenager replied. "But if you want to train, Alex said she had loads of new levels to try."
"Hanging out is fine." Kara said. "Did you have anything in mind?"
"There's a carnival in town." The teen said.
"I thought you didn't like those?" Kara said.
"I don't not like them." The teen replied. "So want to go?"
"Can you never have too much cheese on a pizza?" Kara countered.
"N-" Alex started.
"The answer is of course yes, you can never have too much cheese on a pizza." Kara cut in.
-00-
"So what's up?" Kara asked as they walked.
"Nothing. Why?"
"You wanted to come to a carnival."
"I just thought you'd like it."
"I do. But you don't."
"I know things have been hard recently with Indomitable. I just wanted you to have fun." The teen said.
"You don't have to worry about me." Kara said wrapping an arm round her shoulder. "Besides I have dealt with worse."
"It's not fair that you have to." The teen said.
"I know. But there are advantages. Such as having more time to spend with you."
"So you're okay?"
"I'm fine. What about you? How are the nightmares?"
"They're okay. I mean I didn't have any last night."
"Well there's a start." Kara smiled.

"Hey, did I forget you were coming?" Kara asked when she saw her sister on her couch that evening.
"No. MJ is going through a loud music phase so I thought I'd get some peace and quiet." Alex said from the couch. "Where have you two been?"
"Carnival."
"Everything okay?" Alex asked looking from her sister to her niece.
"It's fine." Kara said before asking. "Would you like to stay here?"
"It's fine, I'll go back to the noise."
"We could have a movie night." The teenage Alex said. "I've done my homework."

As the teenage Alex slept against her mother her aunt paused the movie and turned to Kara and asked.
"How did it go with the parents?"
"They didn't have much to add. But the reason they aren't pressuring the cops is because a Detective Miller has convinced them it was suicide."
"Who is Detective Miller?"
"No idea, but I am looking into it."
"Don't do it alone." Alex warned.
"I won't." Kara said. "His mother also said he had a new self confidence about him. Which ties into our theory."
"Doesn't prove anything though." Alex frowned.
"But is still a maybe lead." Kara pointed out.
