Baratta jennifer -Thank you. Kara will need luck

"Ma'ams. Indomitable has done another interview." Rose said approaching. "And you aren't going to like it."

"Why?"

"He has directly attacked Supergirl."

"Of course he has. What have I done now?" Supergirl asked moving to the control room where a screen showed Indomitable.

Seeing Alex nod Rose started the clip.

"Many have questioned why you are so hard on Supergirl." The reporter said to Indomitable.

"I'm not hard on her. I am just doing my thing, if she can't keep up that is not my responsibility."

"So you don't have a grudge?"

"No. I mean I should. But I don't."

"Why should you have a grudge? I mean she is Supergirl."

"She is and no doubt she is a good person, but her family less so and it is sometimes hard to get past that." Indomitable said.

"What do you mean?" The reporter asked.

"Her aunt was responsible for Myriad. Something that killed humans and stripped all of us of our free will. Her mother created Fort Rozz and she brought that prison to Earth." Indomitable said. "And yes, she talks of love, but her father created a virus that would have killed all non-Kryptonians. We have all suffered from those events."

"How did he know all of that?" Supergirl asked her sister.

"Don't know." Alex said. "But that information is over twenty years old. It will be impossible to trace it."

As Kara entered the apartment she found herself being hugged as her daughter asked.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine."

"Really? I saw the news."

"I'm okay." Kara said.

"Pretty sure you're not." The teen said.

"I'm a little frustrated. But I'll be okay. On the bright side I have more time to spend with you."

"You sound less convincing every time you say that." The teen said before offering. "I could help."

"With what?" Kara asked.

"Figuring out who he is."

"No way. Your aunt is already doing that, you need to keep away from this."

"But-"

"If you want to help, we'll train more."

"As in properly?" The teen asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I know we are training most days, which is great, but you still hold back and get stressed when I get hit, even though I can't get hurt."

"I know. I'm sorry, I just get scared." Kara said. "But yes we will train properly."

"Really?"

"Yes. But if you actually get hurt we stop. Plus you need to make sure you eat enough calories."

As Kara and Alex sparred in the desert a familiar voice said.

"This looks fun."

"What are you doing here?" Kara asked making sure she stood between Lobo and Alex.

"Where else would I be but with my future bride?"

"Literally anywhere else in the Galaxy." Kara said.

"It's like you don't like me." Lobo smiled.

"You killed me, twice."

"I saved yer." Lobo said. "Twice."

"Not the point. Why are you here?"

"Don't like my contract."

"Then cancel it." Kara said as Alex guessed.

"You want our help releasing you from the contract?"

"The main man doesn't need help."

"Looks like you do." Alex said.

"Alex, leave it." Kara warned before looking at Lobo. "The contract is with Alex's grandparents. Not me. I never wanted a contract."

"So we help each other." Lobo said.

"It's not mom's choice." The teenage Alex said.

"I can be very persuasive." Lobo smiled.

"Apparently not." The teen shot back.

"Alex." Kara warned.

"What? He deserves it."

"Looks like there is hope for yer." Lobo grinned at Alex. "We could have a lot of fun together."

"If I could get rid of you I would." Kara said. "But you got yourself into this."

"And you can get me out of it. Or do you want me in your life?"

"No one wants you in their life." Kara said.

"You're only saying that cos of our past. But deep down yer liked it."

"No I didn't."

"Really? Cos I did." Lobo grinned as two helicopters approached. "Seriously?" Lobo asked. "What are they gonna do?"

"I think you should leave." Kara said.

"Why?"

"No one wants you here."

"Her grandparents do." Lobo pointed out looking at Alex.

"No, they want Alex to be safe." Kara corrected.

"Easier to do, if I'm here with you." He said as the helicopters landed and DEO agents jumped out. Seeing them Lobo pulled out a gun.

"Don't." Frax said having teleported in next to his niece. "Harm them and Alex will suffer. It will breach your contract." The comment causing Lobo to twitch before putting his gun away. "Why are you here?" Frax asked.

"I'm protecting her."

"Looks like you are annoying Alex." Frax said.

"I'm offering my services." Lobo said. "A union to defeat the threat."

"What threat?" Kara asked.

"Surely you have figured it out." Lobo said. "Or maybe not. But I'll still let you join me."

"Last time we joined up you betrayed me." Kara said.

"So you need an incentive. Fine." Lobo said turning.

"Where are you going?" Kara asked.

"To make you realise you need me."

"What does that mean?" Kara asked getting a sinking feeling.

"See yer soon." Lobo said walking off.

"What was that about?" The older Alex said joining them.

"He's growing restless." Kara said.

"You all okay?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, we're fine." Kara said wrapping a protective arm round her daughter.

"Let's get you guys back home." Alex said.

As Kara lay in bed unable to sleep she suddenly saw herself being stabbed by Lobo, an image accompanied by fear and sadness.

Jumping out of bed she ran to her daughter's room.

"Alex, wake up." Kara said approaching her daughter's bed.

"Mom?" the teen asked sitting up.

"It's okay, it was a nightmare." Kara said hugging her.

"Nightmare?"

"Yes." Kara said.

"Did I project it?"

"Yeah."

"I'm sorry, I should have activated my necklace."

"That's not really what the necklace is for." Kara reminded her. "You okay?"

"I guess."

"I'm okay." Kara said. "Lobo isn't going to defeat me. He might annoy me, but I am not going to let him win."

00

"How are you feeling?" Kara asked when her daughter emerged from her room a few hours later.

"Okay, sorry for waking you last night, well this morning."

"My job is to be there for you whenever you need me." Kara said as Alex's phone buzzed.

"Who is messaging you so early on the weekend?" Kara asked.

"Umm. MIT." Alex said seeing the message.

"And?" Kara asked.

"Um, give me a minute." The teen said opening the mail. Before reading it and re-reading it. She took so long Kara was convinced it was a rejection. But after what felt like an eternity the teen said.

"I got in." The teen said.

"I am so proud of you." Kara said hugging her tightly.

"Need to breathe."

"Sorry, but I am so proud." Kara said still holding her. Finally she released her and asked. "What do you want to do to celebrate? Wait, why are you not looking happy?"

"What if I can't do it? What if I blow your cover? What-"

"Alex, you will be fine. You are so much more together than I was at your age." She paused and said. "Why don't you tell Kara the good news. I'm going to get some things. I'll be back soon." Her mother said flying out of the window.

"I will get dressed then." The teen said to the empty apartment before disappearing to her room.

When she reemerged her aunt was standing in the kitchen with a tired looking MJ.

"Hi." The teenage Alex said.

"Congratulations." Her aunt said hugging her.

"How-"

"Think your mom has told everyone." The older Alex smiled.

"Congrats." MJ yawned.

"Why are you here?"

"Aunt Kara said we had to." MJ said as he collapsed on the couch. "She also said there'd be food."

"Pretty sure that is coming." His mother said before turning to Alex and asking. "Any plans to celebrate?"

"Not really, didn't think I'd get in so hadn't given it much thought."

"You may need to think of some before your mom gets back or she will go all out."

"That's okay, she needs a distraction." The teen said as they felt a breeze moments before food appeared on the side.

"Buy enough?" Her sister asked amused.

"Need the energy to keep us going today." Kara said.

"Big plans?" MJ asked.

"For all of us." Kara smiled.

"Warned you." Alex whispered to her niece.
