"Hey you." Kara smiled as she approached her niece a few days later.
"Hi aunt Kara." The younger Kara said hugging her.
"How are you doing?"
"I'm okay."
"Yeah? You look a little tired."
"Just been trying to finish assignments. I'll be fine with a little sleep. The younger Kara said before cautiously asking. "How are things at home?"
"You mean between Diz and your mom?" Kara guessed.
"Yeah."
"They're fine, well a little weird, but mainly fine. They'll be fine."
"That's not that reassuring."
"They both miss you."
"And how are you doing?"
"Well now your mom is training Diz and Rice, I don't get tortured, so it's all good for me." The older Kara smiled.
"Diz told me you've been looking out for him. Thank you."
"Well he's family. And it's not just me it is Alex and MJ as well."
"I know. But thanks. I know you have a lot on with Indomitable."
"Family comes first." The older Kara reminded her. "So you ready to go?"
"Yes."

As the older Alex got home that evening she saw her daughter in the kitchen.
"Hi Sweetie." Alex said hugging her daughter.
"Hi mom."
"I've missed you." Alex said before finally releasing her. "You okay?"
"I'm fine."
"Where's Diz?" Alex asked, surprised he wasn't with Kara.
"Sleeping. Apparently he is being tortured by a tyrant."
"Bad news for him is it will get worse." Alex said.
"I think he knows that." Her daughter said. "Can I ask something?"
"Sure."
"You trust Rice?"
"I have found no evidence to suggest that he is working with Indomitable. But I am looking into it." Alex said. "Why has Diz said something?"
"No. Just that he is a jerk and he's met worse."
"If you hear anything else let me know." Alex said.
"I will."
"So how's college?"
"Busy. But going okay."
"Any thoughts about what you are going to do afterwards?"
"Not really. I mean a few. But I'll stew on it over the summer." She said as they heard MJ shout.
"I'm back."
"In here." Alex called.
"With food?" MJ asked hopefully.
"You have been spending way to much time with aunt Kara." His sister commented.
"Hey, you're back. Wait, why are you here rather than with Diz?"
"He's sleeping." His sister said.
"Still torturing him?" MJ asked his mother who was saved from answering by her daughter asking.
"Where's Alex?"
"Finishing an assignment with Martin." MJ said.
"And you aren't doing that because?" His mother asked.
"Different class."
"At least you are trying believable lies." His sister said.

"We're here." Alex said bringing the car to a stop at six am the next morning.
"It's the middle of no where." Rice said looking round at the baron landscape.
"Not quite. Screw up again and that's where you go. But today we are twelve miles from the desert base." Alex countered. "Rules are simple. You have one hundreds minutes to run to the desert base. Any outside help and you are disqualified. There are water stops on route which you can use. If you fail to make it in the time limit you are back again tomorrow. Any questions? .. No. Good. Your time starts now." When neither boy moved she said. "Time is ticking."
With that Rice and Diz got out of the car and started running. For a moment Alex watched them before driving off.

"Morning." Kara greeted as she entered CatCo.
"Hi Kara, you have a visitor." Mo said. "I put them in Room 5."
"Who are they?" Kara asked.
"A Ms Watkins. She said it was regarding a missing person."
"Okay, thanks." Kara said walking off.
"Ms Watkins?" Kara asked entering the room.
"Hi yes. And it Linda. I'm sorry for not making an appointment." The woman said standing. "And for being so early, but I have work."
"It's fine. What can I help you with?" Kara asked.
"I don't know if you can. But I know you were asking about Brett Chandler."
"You know him?" Kara asked.
"Kind of? I work at Taviner, Webb and Hoskins. So I knew of Brett."
"You have information about his disappearance?" Kara asked.
"No. This isn't about Brett. I am here about my sister."
"Your sister?" Kara asked confused.
"Yes. Mandy. She's missing."
"And you think it is linked to Brett?"
"No, well maybe. Probably not. But from what I heard you care. And I am desperate." The woman said.
"Tell me about your sister." Kara said.
"She is a Meta and never really fitted in. She got really excited after Indomitable came onto the scene. She started attending his meetings and said she found a home and then joined one of his local branches. But since then she dropped off the face of the planet."
"And that is unusual?"
"We haven't always had the best relationship. I was jealous of her powers and she was jealous of my lack of powers. But things have been getting better recently. And we speak every other day. Or we did, until she went silent."
"Did she sound in trouble last time you spoke to her?"
"No. She sounded happy. She said she found somewhere she belonged. So I wasn't so worried when a few days passed by, but it has been two weeks."
"Which branch did she join?"
"I don't know the name. It's the one on 5th."
"Have you talked to them?"
"I keep getting brushed off."
"I'll see what I can find out." Kara said.
"Thank you."
"Out of interest, what powers does your sister have?"
"She can manipulate electricity. Why?"
"It might help with the search." Kara said before asking. "Do you think there could be a connection to Brett?"
"No, I mean I knew Brett, but Mandy didn't. She didn't work in the corporate world. Plus she had powers, that has to be connected right? Do you think it is a hate crime? Maybe people saw her join that branch and punished her."
"Who'd do that?"
"I don't know. Supergirl supporters."
"I don't think they are the kidnapping type." Kara said.
"Every group has nut jobs." The woman said. "But then why would that branch keep brushing me off? I'm sorry, I'm just really worried."
"I know." Kara said. "I have a sister too. Let me look into this. But can I have some contact details?"
"Yes, of course." The woman said.

As Rice sprinted past the finish line he looked at the DEO Agent and said.
"Easy."
"Maybe not." The Agent said. "Go wait in the briefing room. The Director will meet you both there."
Nodding Rice walked to the room as the Agent kept an eye out for Diz, who was no where to be seen. Looking down at the stop watch the Agent shook his head and took a seat.

Ten minutes later a panting Diz was led into the room where Rice was waiting.
"Told you were a loser. Enjoy tomorrow." Rice said as Alex walked into the room. For a moment she silently looked at the two boys before saying.
"Rice, you made it faster than the required time, although slower than your fastest."
"Didn't need to go my fastest." Rice pointed out. "I just needed to beat the time you set."
"Diz, you were minutes slower than the required time, but faster than your personal best."
"Sucks to be you." Rice said to Diz. He then looked at Alex and said.
"I take it we're done and I can go."
"Not so fast. I said if you failed to meet the time you'd be back tomorrow." Alex said.
"I made the time." Rice argued.
"You may have done. But you," Alex said pointing between Rice and Diz. "Did not. I said the DEO was about being part of a team. You both pass or you both fail. You are both back tomorrow for the same challenge. And to be clear, if either one of you fail you are both back here the day after and you will be back everyday until you succeed. If you don't pass in a week you are both out." Alex said walking back, leaving a fuming Rice glaring at Diz.

"I have another missing person." Kara said walking up to Alex.
"A real one?"
"Maybe. What worries me is the missing person is a known meta and her power is electricity, she sounds kinda like Livewire."
"Who could actually hurt you." Alex said. "If Indomitable has her, you could be in trouble."
"It might be nothing." Kara said. "But there is something else that worries me."
"What?"
"Her sister, Linda, said Mandy had joined Indomitable, at the branch on 5th. And for a while it sounded like she blamed them, but then she changed her mind and blamed it on jealous Supergirl supporters."
"Is that a thing?" Alex asked.
"I don't know. I've not looked. But what if it is becoming a thing? Indomitable will use that against me."
"Let me get Rose to look into it." Alex said.
