"You okay?" Diz asked as he and MJ worked on the car that weekend.
"Sure."
"Any more signs of Jess?"
"No." MJ said looking up from the nut he was loosening and asking. "You think it is about me or mom?"
"What do you mean?" Diz asked looking over to MJ.
"The visits? You think it is to mess with me or mom?"
"Probably both." Diz said before asking. "You sure you haven't seen Jess again?"
"No. At least I don't think so. After the last one I was convinced she was everywhere. But Alex couldn't see her, so I guess I'm just nuts." MJ said.
"You're not crazy." Diz said. "If that happened to me, I'd be seeing her everywhere too." He added as a young man covered in tattoos walked into the garage.
"You don't even talk like us no more." The newcomer said.
"What?" Diz asked looking up before momentarily freezing.
"You sound like them."
"Them?" Diz asked lost.
"The rich." He said pointing to MJ. "They said you forgot where you come from. I said no. But here we are. Correr la máquina." He said before converting fully to Spanish, losing MJ as he did. After a moment Diz said.
"A mi plín."
Undeterred the man went on until Diz questioned in English.
"What do you mean gone?"
"Pichea." The man said.
"What do you mean gone?" Diz repeated.
"Taken. Police won't do nothin. Thought you'd wanna know. But I see they've got you." The man said before walking off.
"Fue sin querer queriendo!" Diz replied back to the man.
"Vete pa'l carajo!" The man said without turning.
"Diz?" MJ asked. Not getting a response MJ said louder. "Diz!"
"Sorry what?"
"Who was he? Whose gone?"
"He's my cousin."
"Whose gone?"
"My parents."

"You two okay?" The adult Alex asked as she landed with Kara in the garage.
"No. Diz's parents are missing. Kidnapped." MJ said.
"What?" Alex asked lost.
"His cousin just told him." MJ added.
"Slow down and start from the beginning." Alex instructed.
"His cousin came and said his parents have been kidnapped and the police aren't doing anything."
"You trust your cousin?" Alex asked.
"Not really. But he wouldn't lie about this." Diz said.
"If they have been taken, there is a chance you'll be next." Alex said. "So let's go back to the DEO while my team looks into it."
"No. I've got to finish up here." Diz said. "I can't let Joe down."
"I'll do it." MJ said.
"Kara, take Diz to the DEO, I'll stay with MJ." Alex said. "I'll call when I have news."
"Okay." Kara said before grabbing hold of Diz and flying to the DEO.

"What do we know?" Alex asked when she arrived in the briefing room an hour later, but noticing her sister was missing she added. "And where's Kara?"
"Gone to chase up a couple of things. She'll be back soon." Ruby said.
"Check on what?"
"She didn't exactly say. Something to do with some stories." Ruby explained.
"Okay." Alex said before looking at Diz. "How are you holding up?"
"I'm fine." He said.
Guessing she wasn't going to get anything else from him Alex looked at Ruby and Vasquez and asked.
"Okay, what do we know?"
"They were reported missing two days ago." Vasquez said. "The witnesses said they were dragged from their house into an unmarked van. No number plate. There is no working CCTV there." Vasquez said. "But we could track their cell phones to this location." She said pointing to the screen which displayed a map. "Team Whiskey went to investigate and retrieved two discarded phones. So we don't have much to go on. All we know is they were taken. But we are looking at CCTV footage near to where they were taken and to where the phones were dropped to see if we can spot the van. But there is a lot to go through."
"What have the police said?"
"Not much, not sure they even investigated."
"They were bad people, but it's not like they were criminals. And they didn't have money. Why would they be taken? Is it me?" Diz asked.
"When was the last time you spoke to them?" Alex asked.
"My mom? The picnic last year. My dad, years."
"So it's possible they were involved in criminal activities that you don't know about." Alex said. "Right now we don't know why they were taken, but we will figure it out."
"Don't you have better things to do? I mean this is a police matter." Diz said.
"We don't know that." Alex said. "Diz, until we know more, you'll have more protection and you are staying with me." Alex said.
"Won't that put MJ is danger?"
"It's not negotiable." Alex said before turning to Ruby. "Drive him to Wildcat's so he can get his things. Then take him to mine. Anything unusual call for help."
"Yes boss." Ruby said leading Diz from the room. Alex then turned to Vasquez who said.
"I know what you are going to say. And I know there are a lot of similarities to what Rice and the others did to Diz and this. But they all have alibis. They were all at a DEO training session when it happened."
"And the van?"
"Don't know, but I can find out." Vasquez said.
"Okay." Alex said.
"That said, do you want me to call Rice in?"
"No. Not yet."

"Alex, Diz's parents aren't the only ones to disappear." Kara said entering the office a couple of hours later.
"What do you mean?"
"Over the last month there have been at least seventeen disappearances of couples. All kidnapped from their homes. But if this is Indomitable, he must know Diz is connected to us. Why risk it?"
"Maybe they thought he wouldn't find out." Alex said. "But any reason to believe Indomitable is involved?"
"A lot of the families of the missing didn't just report it to the police. They reported it to Indomitable's people, who in all cases found the missing." Kara said.
"Alive?"
"The one's reported to Indomitable's people yes. The ones not reported to his people two couples found alive. The others weren't. I am trying to get more information." Kara said. "And I'm going to talk to them."
"Indomitable's people?"
"No, the kidnap victims." Kara said.
"Okay, but you aren't going alone, I'm coming with you."

"We're back." Alex called as she and her sister entered the house that evening.
"Kitchen." MJ called.
"Is MJ cooking?" Kara asked. "Because that actually smells edible."
"I hope not, smells can be deceiving." Alex said entering the kitchen where Diz was standing near the hob. "What's going on?"
"I'm cooking dinner." Diz said.
"You didn't need to, but thanks." Alex said.
"Actually he did." MJ said. "He lost a bet."
"What is it? It smells great." Kara said.
"Pasteles, Arroz y habichuelas and Mofongo." Diz listed.
"AKA Puerto Rican comfort food." MJ said.
"Should be ready in thirty." Diz said.
"Where's Alex?" Kara asked.
"With Frax." MJ said. "She said she'll be back after dinner."

"How are you doing?" The older Kara asked Diz after dinner as they did the dishes.
"Okay I guess." He said scrubbing the frying pan.
"You want me to fly you to Kara?"
"No, she's got an exam on Monday. Besides I'm okay, it's not like we were close."
"Okay, well if you change your mind let me know." Kara said.
"I will." Diz replied as MJ came into the kitchen.
"Hey, you want to play some – why are you doing the washing up? You cooked."
"Cos you disappeared." Diz pointed out throwing a tea towel at MJ.
"Mom said I had to do my homework." MJ shrugged. "Want some help?"
"You two go. I have this." Kara said before using her superspeed to finish.
"How is he?" The older Alex asked when Kara returned to the lounge.
"Says he is okay, but we'll see." Kara said. "Any news?"
"Not yet." Alex said as they heard the front door.
"Hi." Kara smiled when she saw her daughter.
"Hi."
"Where's Frax?"
"Gone back to his ship." The teen said. "How's Diz?"
"He's okay, he's upstairs gaming with Diz if you want to join them?"
"Okay." The teen said as her aunt's phone rang.
"Danvers." The older Alex answered. "You sure? … How? … Okay, thanks for letting me know."
"What's wrong?" Her sister asked as she ended the call.
"They've found Diz's parents." Alex said.
"That's great." Kara said.
"Not really. They're dead."
