Guest - Thanks!

Baratta jennifer - Martin and Alex won't be dating each other.

"Owww." Kara said as she landed on her back a couple of days later.

"You okay?" Alex asked over the radio.

"No. This is worse than that first training session I had with you. The one where you took twelve years of frustration out on me. So the question is what I have done to upset you now?"

"This is for your own good." Alex said.

"How is fighting without powers for my own good?" Kara asked sitting up.

"You do have powers." Alex countered. "Just weakened powers."

"Which helps how?"

"Lobo and Indomitable are stronger than you. This is the easiest way to simulate it." Alex explained. "Ready to go again?"

"Do I have to?" Kara asked.

"You want to beat them?"

"Yes."

"Then up you get." Alex said before restarting the exercise just as the door to the control room opened. Turning she greeted. "Diz? Everything okay?"

"Yeah, Ruby asked me to drop this off with you." He said passing her a tablet.

"Something wrong?" Alex asked noticing he was moving stiffly.

"It's nothing."

"Doesn't look like nothing. You've just come from combat training right?" Alex probed.

"Yes. The others were better than me."

"Others? As in your cohort?" Alex guessed. When Diz remained silent she asked. "Didn't we sort this last year?"

"They still think I'm getting it easy because I'm dating Kar."

"All of them?"

"No. I mean not the ones who've seen you tear me a new one. But they are the minority."

"Want to give me names so I can stop it?"

"That won't help. Besides Kar told me to become a field Agent you had to fight J'onn every day until you could beat him."

"So?" Alex asked lost.

"If I can't beat the guys in my cohort I'm never going to graduate. Besides I've had worse treatment. And it is nothing compared to what you are doing to your sister." He commented as he saw the older Kara fly into a wall.

"Kara? You okay?" Alex asked over the radio.

"No." Kara groaned as Alex returned the room to normal so her sister had powers. "Finally." Kara mumbled getting to her feet before moving with superspeed to the control room.

"Hey Diz. What are you doing here?"

"Ruby asked me to drop something off, but it reminded me things could be worse."

"Be very grateful Alex isn't in charge of your training." Kara said to him.

"You'll thank me one day." Alex said to her sister.

"Yeah, the day you stop." Kara said before looking at Diz and asking. "Want to join us for dinner?"

"No, I've got an assignment to finish. I'll catch you later."

"Diz." Alex called.

"Yeah."

"Call me if you change your mind."

"I will." He said leaving.

"What was that about?" Kara asked.

"Idiots being idiots. Can we delay dinner? I need to sort something out."

"Didn't Diz say he had it covered?" Kara asked.

"Well, last time I left it and it turned bad." Alex replied. "And I will be subtle."

"You?" Kara asked.

"I can do subtle." Alex countered. "Sometimes. But we shouldn't be discussing that, we should be discussing your terrible performance tonight. What's going on?"

"I was distracted."

"I saw." Alex said. "Why?"

"It's tonight, well was tonight I guess." Kara said looking at her watch.

"What is, was?" Alex asked.

"The date."

"What?" Alex asked lost.

"Alex's date, her first date." Kara reminded her.

"That's tonight?" Alex asked wondering where her week had gone.

"Yes."

"Well that explains your performance." Alex said. "I'm sure she'll be fine."

"I don't know. First dates are scary. This is her first ever."

"That you know of." Alex countered.

"It's her first." Kara repeated. "I just hope she is okay."

"You'd know if she wasn't." Her sister said.

"I guess. I'm just surprised she hasn't sent me a message."

"You do remember cell signals can't get in here?" Alex asked.

"Shoot, I forgot. I need a signal." Kara said.

"Let's go outside." Alex said leading her sister to the cool night air. As soon as they were out of the building Kara's phone started buzzing.

"Well?" Alex asked.

"There are lot's of messages. Mainly from MJ telling me Alex is fine." Kara said scrolling. "And one from Alex, saying it was good. What does good mean?"

"It wasn't bad?" Alex suggested.

"I now know why Eliza was, well is, always mad at you for your brief messages." Kara said about to call her daughter.

"You know she could still be on the date?" Alex asked. "You really want to scare the guy off?"

"If he is still with her at this time? Yes."

"You need to not get angry." Alex said to her sister the next day when she entered her sister's kitchen.

"Why would I get angry?" Kara asked before seeing the news headlines. "Seriously? I basically saved the world and that barely got me a statue. And he is getting one already?"

"Remember the not get angry part?" Alex asked.

"But this is-"

"Unfair? Yes. But he probably wants a reaction. We can't give him one." Alex said as Kara kept watching the news.

"What? He's getting a whole appreciation day as well." Kara said.

"He's popular now, but it won't last."

"We have been saying that for nearly a year." Kara pointed out. "I just have to face it I'm done, replaced, past it." She said as her phone rang. Seeing it was her daughter she quickly answered it. But hearing the sobbing down the phone she took to the skies.

"Alex? What's wrong?" Kara asked flying into her daughter's dorm room. Seeing her daughter sitting by the door, her knees pulled to her chest Kara dropped down in front of her and looked for injuries as she asked. "What happened? Are you hurt?"

"He was using me."

"Who?" Kara asked confused.

"Jeff. I thought he like me but he didn't. It was part of a game. But I really liked him." She sobbed.

"It's okay." Kara said scooping her daughter off the floor and putting her on the bed where she sat next to her and hugged her.

"I'm sorry." Alex said when the tears finally stopped.

"For what?"

"Calling you-"

"Alex you should never apologise for calling me."

"But you are busy and came here."

"Of course I came here." Kara said. "And I am never too busy for you. And seeing I am here, let me know if you want me to do anything to Jeff. Like flying him to a rubbish barge or-"

"I just want to forget about him and how stupid I was."

"You weren't stupid." Kara said.

"Yes I was. Should have known it was just a game." She said as Kara held her tightly.

"What happened?" Kara asked.

"Mel heard him talking to his friends this morning. They were making fun of me and Jeff was saying the ten points he got from me wasn't worth the effort."

"I know how much it hurts right now, but it will get better." Kara said trying to keep her own anger in check as there was a knock on the door.

"Alex we are coming in." MJ said from outside her door before walking in and seeing his cousin being hugged by her mother on her bed.

"Aunt Kara, hey, I didn't know you were here." MJ said.

"Hi MJ, Martin." Kara smiled.

"We brought break up supplies, but we'll just leave them here." MJ said as he and Martin put the bags down on the desk.

"Don't go." Kara said. "I need to call your mom and let her know you are both okay." She said looking from her daughter to MJ. "I'll be back in a minute." She said leaving.

"How did you even know?" Alex asked looking at her cousin.

"Mel told me. She was worried about you. Bigger question, why didn't you call me?" MJ asked as he sat down next to his cousin.

"You were busy."

"Not too busy for this." Martin said sitting on her other side.

"You are meant to be on a date." Alex reminded him.

"She understands." Martin replied.

"I'm sorry." MJ said. "I encouraged you to date him."

"I didn't need much encouragement."

"What happened?" Martin asked.

"Mel heard Jeff talking to his friends. There is league table. They score points based on how many people they date and how far they get. It was just a game to him."

"At least you found out early." Martin said.

"You want me to do something to him?" MJ offered.

"Mom has already offered."

"But I have less morals." MJ pointed out.

As Kara walked back to her daughter's room she saw Mel loitering outside.

"You okay?" Kara asked.

"Oh, hey." Mel said. "I didn't know you were here. How did you even get here so quickly?"

"Oh, I um was um, I was in the area." Kara said. "Alex is in there if you want to go in."

"I wasn't sure that was a good idea." Mel said. "I mean I was the one who told Alex, and I wasn't sure if there is any anger directed at me."

"There's not. And right now the more friends the better. MJ and Martin are already in there."

"Then there is no need for me." Mel said.

"That's not true. Besides there is a lot of food to get through." Kara said opening the door and leading Mel inside.

"Was mom okay?" MJ started to asked, but as he saw the newcomer he greeted. "Hi Mel."

"Hi." She greeted.

"Your mom is fine." Kara assured MJ. "But you need to start channeling her, or you will lose."

"Lose? Oh, games night?" MJ guessed.

"What are we playing?" Martin asked.

"Open to ideas." Kara said.

"Game of Life? Taboo? Settlers?" MJ listed.

"So we can be humiliated?" Martin asked him.

"Hedgehogs's Revenge?" Mel suggested.

"Sorry what?" MJ asked.

"It's a really old game, but it's fun." Mel said.

"Sounds good. Girls vs Boys." Kara said.

"That's not fair." MJ protested. "There's more of you."

"As your mom would say, life is not fair." Kara countered.
