Baratta jennifer - Alex will get clued up a lot quicker than Kara.

"Everything okay?" The older Alex asked her sister as the pair went to the kitchen to get the food for the Thanksgiving meal.

"Yes."

"So we are all imagining the tension between you and Alex." Her sister probed.

"Yes. No. I upset Alex." Kara sighed.

"How?"

"Suggested she dated."

"So not as over the Jeff experience as she suggested." Her sister said.

"No, and I keep saying the wrong things."

"That is probably because there isn't a right thing to say." The older Alex said as they walked back into the dining room with the food.

"So Martin, I hear you have a girlfriend." Kara said as she put the potatoes on the table.

"Subtle." The teenage Alex muttered.

"Umm, yes." Martin said not sure where the conversation was going.

"I'm sure she is very nice." Kara said.

"Yes." Martin said sending a questioning look to the teenage Alex who said something in an alien language. The comment causing Kara to respond in kind.

As the two started arguing in an alien language Martin whispered to MJ. "Should we go?"

"No, Thanksgiving is normally like this, although with the other Alex and Kara in the room. It's fine." MJ shrugged.

"You sure?" Steve asked.

"Yeah, it's all good." MJ shrugged as the alien arguing continued.

"Girls!" Eliza exclaimed. However, she remained unheard and the teenage Alex and older Kara kept arguing in an alien tongue until Alex said something which no one except Kara understood. However, everyone could see the pain and hurt the statement caused.

"There's a thing. I have to go." Kara said leaving the house.

"Are you going through a weird hormone thing again?" MJ asked causing his cousin to glare at him before storming out.

"Nice MJ." His sister commented before heading after her cousin.

"I'm going to go to the DEO and check on Kara." The older Alex said.

"I look after things here." Eliza said.

00

"Sorry." The teenage Alex said when her cousin came into the apartment.

"For what?" The younger Kara said sitting next to her on the couch.

"Ruining Thanksgiving."

"You've not ruined anything. Besides MJ wasn't wrong, mom and I used to really go at it during Thanksgiving. But seeing you and your mom don't normally argue, what's going on?"

"It doesn't matter."

"The fight implies other wise." Kara pointed out. "So spill."

"Mom was putting pressure on me to date."

"She wants you to be happy."

"But it doesn't work that way for someone like me. I've seen The Boys."

"Who?" Kara asked lost.

"TV show about Superheroes."

"Never heard of it."

"Well it's really old. But it wasn't wrong so many things can go wrong. Even if guys weren't jerks I could hurt or kill them."

"Or you could get on with them and be happy." Her cousin said.

"If it is that easy why isn't she dating?"

"Your mom?" Kara asked trying to keep up.

"Yes. And when I suggested it she got snappy."

"Your mom?"

"Well not snappy, but she shut the conversation down."

"To be fair, she is kinda busy with Indomitable." Kara said. "And when you guys were on the run it wasn't exactly practical or safe." She paused and then said. "I still don't see how any of this led to what happened at lunch."

"I don't know. I was just frustrated and angry."

"Frustrated and angry in a non normal way?" Kara asked.

"You think MJ was right?"

"I hope not cos if he is he will be insufferable, but it would be safer to get you checked out."

00

"Want to talk about what ever lunch was?" Alex asked approaching her sister who stood on the DEO balcony.

"No."

"Try again."

"It's my fault." Kara said.

"How?"

"I was pushing her to date and she pushed back, strongly."

"Okay, well I see why Alex might rebel, but you seemed to be getting upset."

"Because she is right."

"She shouldn't date?"

"What? No of course she should. She was right about me being a coward."

"How are you a coward?"

"Not dating?"

"And that is a bad thing?"

"Yes, it means it is my fault she is so scared to open her heart."

"And she called you coward?" Alex asked, still trying to get to the crux of the matter.

"And a hypocrite."

"How?"

"If I want her to date, I should date Steve."

"Okay, but her solution wasn't that bad."

"You remember what happened with Winn?"

"Winn was different, he had a huge crush on you, which you never figured out, well until the kiss. And while Steve likes you, you like him, so what's the problem?" Alex asked.

"We're just friends." Kara said, her tone making it obvious she wasn't going to discuss it further.

"Okay. But what did she say?" Alex asked.

"When?"

"At the end. It was obvious it hurt you. What was it?" Alex asked. But before her sister could answer Kara's phone buzzed.

"It's Kara." The older Kara said reading her phone. "I need to get to Lena's lab."

"I'm coming with you." Her sister said.

00

"What happened?" The older Alex asked seeing her daughter loitering in Lena's lab.

"We think her hormones are spiking. But she could just be scared."

"Of?" The older Kara asked.

"The Boys."

"MJ and Diz?" The older Alex asked confused.

"No the TV show."

"I told her not to watch that." The older Kara said.

"Well, she watched it and I am assuming something bad happened in it because she is really freaked out." The younger Kara replied.

"Where is she?"

"Through there, Lena is running tests." The younger Kara said.

00

"Alex?" Kara asked rushing into the room.

"I'll be back with some results soon." Lena smiled leaving the pair alone.

"Are you okay?" Kara asked her daughter.

"I'm sorry." The teen said crying.

"For what?" Kara said hugging her.

"What I said, I didn't mean it."

"I know. It doesn't matter." Kara said. "What matters is what is happening with you."

"I'm scared."

"Of what?"

"Everything."

"What happened? Did Jeff-"

"No. Nothing like that."

"Then what is it?" Kara asked.

"I feel like I am being watched, that any slip up and some one will out me. I'm scared of failing and letting you down and letting Lena down, but mainly I'm scared of my powers."

"What do you mean?"

"They feel like they are getting stronger and less controllable."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Kara asked.

"I didn't want you to worry."

"You need to stop worrying about me." Kara said holding her tightly.

"Need something to do. Especially after lunch, everyone will think I'm a freak."

"No one thinks you are a freak."

"Bet Martin does."

"I'm sure Martin doesn't think you are a freak." Kara said.

"He should." The teen said as Lena came back into the room with the older Alex.

"Well?" Kara asked her friend.

"Alex's hormone levels are fluctuating." Lena said.

"Great." The teen said. "Does this mean my powers are going to increase?"

"We can't rule it out." Her aunt said as Kara squeezed her hand.

"You'll be okay." Kara said.

"What if I'm not?"

"We'll figure it out together."

"Alex, I can't imagine what you are going through, but the necklace is working." Lena assured her.

"Plus your hormone levels are not as wild as last time." Her aunt said.

"So I only have to hide for a few days?"

"No hiding." Her mother said.

00

"How is she?" Eliza asked when her eldest grandchild came home.

"Okay, but her hormones are fluctuating." The younger Kara said.

"Told you it was a hormone thing." MJ said.

"You are just lucky Alex doesn't have heat vision, or you'd be toast." Diz said.

"Where is Alex?" Martin asked.

"Still at the lab being tested." The younger Kara said. "She'll probably stay there tonight."

"So she's not okay?" Martin asked.

"She's a little embarrassed."

"Will she be okay?" Martin asked.

"Yes."

"Can I see her?" Martin asked.

"Probably best to give her a bit of space today." The younger Kara said. "But she has her phone so you should try messaging her."

"Is Kara with her?" Steve asked.

"Yes, so is mom and Lena."

"Is Kara okay?" Steve asked.

"She seemed to be, but then again she was just focused on Alex." The younger Kara said.
