A/N: Thanks for the reviews.
Baratta jennifer - Thanks! Neither is Alex.
"Good news is this doesn't look as severe as last time." The older Alex said to her niece the next day. "So hopefully you will be back to normal sooner. Plus the necklace is working so you are good to go."
"But if you want to stay here, we will." Kara said.
"Really?"
"If that is what you want." Kara said.
"I'll let you figure it out." The older Alex said. "I'll be outside."
"I'm sorry." The teen said. "For what I said. I didn't mean it."
"I know." Kara said hugging her. "I'm sorry too."
"For what?"
"Assuming everything you were feeling was down to Jeff." Kara said. "But why didn't you tell me you were struggling with your powers?"
"I've seen the news. I know what you are facing with the law suits and stuff and you were looking after Alex-"
"None of that is for you to worry about." Kara said.
"But it is. I mean if I lose it out in Boston you'll end up paying the price won't you? But if I told you I was struggling you'd have come and visited and then Indomitable would win."
"You fighting something like this by yourself is letting Indomitable win." Kara said.
"I really didn't mean what I said." Alex said.
"I know." Kara said holding her tightly. "But even if you did I would still love you more than anything."

"How's Alex?" Eliza asked when she saw her youngest later that day.
"Embarrassed and scared." Kara said. "But Kara, MJ and Diz are trying to cheer her up."
"And how are you doing?"
"I feel like such a failure."
"Well there is some good news." Eliza said.
"What?"
"The President made an appearance today."
"He's recovered? That is good news." Kara smiled.
"It is, but that wasn't the good news I was referring to. He gave a speech, saying how thankful he was to you. You should watch it."

"We're back." The younger Kara called when the group of youngsters came into the house.
"I'm going to walk Chewie." The younger Alex said before asking her mother. "Want to come with me?"
"Sure." Kara smiled.
As the pair left the younger Kara made eye contact with her cousin who nodded before leaving.
"What was that about?" The older Alex asked her daughter.
"What was what?"
"That look you gave Alex."
"Just a reminder to her to talk to aunt Kara."
"About?" The older Alex probed.
"Not for me to say."
-00-
"You doing okay?" Kara asked her daughter.
"I guess. Less angry."
"That's a start." Her mother smiled before asking. "Any idea what caused the anger?"
"I feel like I don't belong."
"Belong where?" Kara asked.
"Any where." The teen said before explaining. "On Dakran I was called a half breed. On Argo I … it doesn't matter."
"What happened on Argo?" Kara asked coming to a stop and facing her daughter.
"It doesn't matter."
"Yes it does. What happened?"
"People were talking about me. Saying I wasn't Kryptonian and I wasn't welcome."
"We went to Argo months ago. Why are you only telling me this now?" Kara asked.
"Because it would have made you sad and you may have stopped going. But you like Argo."
"I love you a lot more." Kara pointed out. "You shouldn't have hidden that from me."
"You had enough to worry about."
"No matter what Indomitable does, you are my priority." Kara said before asking. "Where else do you feel you don't belong?"
"Earth."
"You not enjoying college?" Kara questioned.
"I am, but I feel like an outsider. And I spend my time worrying about making a mistake."
"Alex, I know how hard it is to hide who you are, but if you focus on hiding it and not making mistakes, you are more likely to make a mistake." Kara said before looking Alex in the eyes and saying. "I'm sorry I didn't see any of this."
"I didn't want you to." The teen said.
"Alex, your job is not to protect me." Kara pointed out. "I need you to promise me that next time you will talk to me."
"Okay." The teen said.
"Good. But right now you look really tired. Let's go home."

"Hey Alex, you up?" MJ called as he walked into his cousin's apartment the next morning.
"MJ?" Kara asked confused from where she was sitting on the couch, her daughter leaning against her sleeping.
"Sorry." He said lowering his voice.
"What time is it?" Kara asked.
"Ten." MJ said.
"Ten?" Kara asked surprised as Alex stirred.
"MJ?" Alex asked waking up. "What's going on?"
"We are going out, want to join us?"
"Sure."
-00-
"What's wrong?" Eliza asked as she joined Kara for lunch.
"Alex has been going through so much and I missed it."
"Kara, she is across the country. And from what Kara and MJ said she has been trying to hide it from you to protect you."
"I know. But that's not her job."
"It isn't. But she takes after you." Eliza said. "And she is worried about you."
"Why? I'm fine."
"No you are not. We can all see how Indomitable is effecting you."
"I'm okay." Kara said. "Or I would be if I could achieve something."
"You saved your sister and the President." Eliza said.
"And was then shot for treason."
"What do you mean shot?" Eliza asked eyes wide.
"The Secret Service had a new anti-me weapon."
"Are you okay?" Eliza pressed.
"I'm fine." Kara assured her.
"What's wrong?" The older Alex asked coming into the kitchen and picking up the end of the conversation.
"Nothing. I'm fine." Kara said.
"Why don't we go out for some lunch?" Eliza suggested.
"I'm not hungry. I think I'm just going to take a clear my head flight." Kara said leaving the kitchen.

"Kara?" Lena asked as she walked onto the L-Corp balcony.
"Lena? What are you doing here?"
"I own the building." Lena reminded her.
"I mean, shouldn't you be not working?"
"I get more done when others aren't around." Lena said. "But seeing you didn't think I'd be here, why are you on the balcony?"
"I just needed some space. Sorry I'll go."
"Don't." Lena said. "I could do with a break. But it is cold out there, so why don't you come in."
"Okay." Kara said entering her friend's office.
"How's Alex?" Lena asked as Kara sat on the couch.
"Calmer."
"So the opposite of you." Lena stated.
"It just feels that no matter what I do I fail."
"You've not failed with Alex."
"Haven't I? I missed so much."
"Can you read minds?" Lena asked.
"No."
"Then it is not on you. Alex is an adult and she chose not to share." Lena reminded her. "Speaking of, why aren't you with her?"
"She is out with the others. They seem to be better at getting her to open up."
"Not surprising, I mean they are the same age." Lena said.
"I know, and I am so grateful she has them, but -"
"You feel left out?" Lena guessed.
"Yes. Does that make me a bad person?"
"Of course not. It was you two for a long time." Lena said. "But it isn't now. And just like Alex has others to talk to, so do you."
"I know."
"Really? Because I am sure you were just standing on the balcony alone." Lena countered.
"I'm okay."
"No you're not." Lena argued.
"You're right. I feel like everything I do is wrong." Kara said. "I am failing everyone, especially Alex. Both of them."
"How have you failed your sister? You saved her life." Lena reminded her.
"She was targeted because of me."
"No, she wasn't the target. The President was." Lena said.
"I thought she was dying. Her heart was so slow." Kara said a tear rolling down her face.
"You saved her and the President." Lena said hugging her friend.
"Barely." Kara said.
"Enough that a force of nature is about to march through the door." Lena said.
"What?" Kara asked confused as the office door opened and her sister walked in.
"Kara?" Alex questioned hurrying to the couch.
"Alex? What are you doing here?" Kara asked wiping the tears from her face.
"You are in pain, where else would I be?" Her sister said sitting on her other side.
"I'm okay." Kara said.
"No, you're not." Lena countered. "You don't need to pretend you are. We already know you aren't."
"I'm meant to be strong." Kara said as the tears started again.
"You are strong." Her sister said.
"I'm crying on couch for no reason."
"You have plenty of reasons." Lena reminded her.
