Baratta jennifer - They will all need luck.

"Should you be at work?" Kara asked her sister as she walked through the DEO corridors with her the next morning.

"I'm fine. Was Alex okay?" The older Alex replied.

"She was fine, sounded much better." Kara said happily.

"Told you." Alex said.

Noticing her sister was walking with purpose and glaring at the passing agents more then normal Kara asked.

"You sure you are okay? You seem a little grouchy."

"Yeah, well how am I meant to feel when there is a spy?" Alex asked.

"Spy?" Kara asked. "You mean another mole?"

"No a spy." Alex said.

"What do you mean?" Kara asked.

"Last night after you left I had to spend ten minutes convincing Kara I was okay, because someone told her about the incident yesterday." Alex said before seeing Diz coming out of the gym. "And there is the culprit." She added marching towards Diz.

Seeing the speed Alex was approaching the rest of his cohort hurried off before Alex reached them.

"Diz, are you spying on me?" Alex asked.

"What?" Diz asked confused.

"Has Kara, not that one," Alex said pointing at her sister. "asked you to check on me?"

"What?" Diz repeated, completely lost.

"Say what one more time and you will be training every spare minute of your day until you graduate." Alex warned.

"Umm-"

"Diz, who do you want to upset less? My sweet innocent niece or my grumpy, sometimes terrifying, sister?" The older Kara asked him.

"Kar." He said.

"You have your answer." Kara said to her sister.

"You can tell Kara I am fine and you will no longer be her spy. Anything that happens at the DEO stays at the DEO." Alex said walking off.

"What just happened?" Diz asked the older Kara.

"She thinks you are checking up on her and reporting to Kara."

"Why?"

"Because Kara knows too much about what is going on."

"That's because you tell her." Diz said.

"Which is something it is better Alex doesn't know." Kara pointed out.

"Better for who?"

"Me." Kara said. "And you."

"How me? She looked like she wanted to kill me." Diz asked.

"Which will help people believe you don't get special treatment." Kara said. "Well not good special treatment anyway."

"Pretty sure people thinking I get special treatment is preferable." He said before repeating. "She looked like she wanted to kill me."

"Don't worry, you'll get used to it." Kara said.

"That's not comforting." Diz pointed out.

"Then … don't worry, I have your back." Kara smiled.

"Yeah, but you put me in the firing line." Diz pointed out.

"Minor detail." Kara shrugged before asking. "Training okay?"

"It's fine." He said before questioning. "How's Alex?"

"Seems better, calmer. Why have you heard anything?"

"No. Just checking." Diz said feeling like he was about to be the patsy in another spy ring. "Anyway I better go. I'll see you later." He said walking off.

"Indomitable just got more money." Vasquez said walking into Alex's office later that day.

"By robbing a bank?" Alex asked.

"No. Sponsorship."

"What?"

"He has just unveiled four new members of his squad called, Turbine, Granite, Scorch and Twilight."

"Aren't they cartoon characters?" Alex asked.

"Originally, yes. But these four have the exact same powers and are being sponsored by the studio that owns the show."

"Just when I though it couldn't get any more twisted." Alex sighed.

"There is some good news." Vasquez said.

"What?"

"That show is from ten years ago so Kara won't know about it."

"I won't know about what?" Kara asked walking into the office.

"What are you doing here?" Alex asked. "I thought you had a CatCo event."

"I did. It's over."

"Already?"

"It is after five."

"What?" Alex asked looking at her watch. "How?"

"Earth revolves round the sun-" Kara started only for her sister to scrunch up some paper and throw it at her. "What? You asked." Kara said.

"Did you need something?" Alex asked.

"I'm going to meet Steve for dinner. Want to come?"

"No, I need to make up for leaving early yesterday." Alex said.

"You sure you should be working late?" Kara asked.

"I'm fine. Go have dinner. I'll see you later."

"Okay, but can you walk Chewie?"

"Sure. Wait are you asking that to make sure I go home?" Alex asked.

"I don't want Chewie to be lonely." Kara shrugged as she left.

"Is it just me or she she getting more sneaky?" Alex asked Vasquez.

"She is just worried about you." Vasquez said.

"I'm fine."

"Yeah, you say that, but you do seem a little less patient today."

"Well, the escaped prisoner yesterday was a screw up we don't need."

"Procedures have been tightened. It won't happen again." Vasquez said.

"Really?" Alex asked.

"Well, not like that." Vasquez said. "But I am reviewing all procedures and looking for weaknesses with J'onn."

"Thanks, but make sure you rest too. The last thing we need is you burning out." Alex said.

"Don't worry, unlike some I understand the concept of a work life balance." Vasquez smiled.

"What are you doing here?" Alex asked when Kara entered her lounge later that evening.

"Nice to see you too." Kara replied.

"I thought you were at dinner." Alex clarified.

"I was. But now I am checking that you stopped work."

"I don't need baby sitting." Alex said before asking. "How was dinner?"

"Good. It was P3." Kara said lifting up Chewie.

"What?"

"Pancakes, pies and puddings."

"How does Steve still have a functioning heart?" Alex asked.

"One of the Universe's big mysteries." Kara shrugged as she played with Chewie.

"You seem happy." Alex said. "Is that just the sugar?"

"No, I spoke to Alex again and she sounds much better."

"Yeah?"

"Yes, I think MJ deserves a lot of credit."

"He keeps it hidden, but he has a sensitive side." Alex said.

"Kinda like you."

"Being intuitive is different from being sensitive." Alex said.

"So what did you and Vasquez not want me to know?" Kara asked.

"What do you mean?" Alex asked confused.

"Earlier when I walked into the office."

"Oh we were just talking about Indomitable and his new sponsorship deals."

"The cartoon characters?" Kara asked.

"Yes."

"I saw." Kara said. "But if he gets Disney, the gloves are off." She warned.

"Noted." Alex replied. "What worries me is what is planning on doing with the money."

"Nothing good. That's for sure." Kara replied.

"How are you really doing?" Alex asked.

"Okay I guess."

"But?"

"I mean I was wondering, what if we are being paranoid? What if my dislike of Indomitable is just jealousy."

"Is it that time already?" Alex asked.

"That time?"

"Every three months or so we have this conversation."

"No we don't."

"Yeah we do." Alex said.

"It's just … his popularity is still growing. Apart from us there is no negativity. How can everyone be wrong?" Kara asked.

"They are sheep."

"What if we are just crazy? Or what if the evil mastermind isn't Team Indomitable at all? What if Indomitable is an innocent beneficiary."

"Now you are sounding crazy." Alex said.

"It's just everything we have faced before, it was clear. Now, I don't know."

"Indomitable creates doubt. It is how he wins." Alex said. "While I don't know what his plan is, I know you are good and I will always be on your side."

"Thank you." Kara said.

"But Kara, you need to stay you. If you stop being you he wins."

"What if I don't know what I am?" Kara asked.

"Then I'll be right there to help you find you."
