A/N: Thanks for the reviews.
Baratta jennifer - both Karas will need it.
"MJ." The younger Kara said hugging her brother when he finally returned home.
"I'm okay."
"You look like crap."
"Well at least I have a good excuse, unlike you." MJ said. "You okay?"
"Just worried about you." His sister said.
"I'm okay. But I should probably sit down." He said causing the younger Kara to release him. As the older Alex helped him to the couch the teenage Alex approached the younger Kara.
"You okay?" The teenage Alex asked her cousin. "I was so worried when I couldn't get hold of you."
"I'm sorry. I didn't have my phone with me. But I'm fine." The younger Kara said hugging her cousin as Diz silently left the house.
"You sure?" The teenage Alex asked.
"Yes. What about you? How did the date go?"
"Most of it was spent in the waiting room." Alex pointed out before asking. "Where's mom?"
"I don't know. I've not seen her."
"She's fine." Her aunt said reading the messages on the phone. "I'm going to go down and check on her."
"I'll make sure MJ takes it easy." Eliza said.

"You should go home. Alex is worried about you." The older Alex said approaching her sister at the DEO.
"What are you doing back?" Kara asked turning.
"MJ was released."
"Already?"
"It's been two days. How long have you been here?"
"Since I came back. There are a lot of prisoners to talk to."
"Kara, go home and get some sleep."
"But-"
"Kara, Alex is worried about you. Go talk to her."
"Okay, but call if you need anything." Kara said leaving.
"MJ okay?" Vasquez asked when it was just her and Alex.
"Yes, thanks. And sorry for leaving you with all this."
"It's fine." Vasquez said.
"So where are?"
"Right now we are not trusted by our prisoners. They won't give us anything."
"So nothing ties it to Indomitable?"
"No."

When Kara got back to the apartment she saw her daughter sleeping on the couch with Chewie. But as soon as she shut the door Chewie jumped off Alex and hurried to Kara, the movement waking Alex up.
"Mom?" She asked wearily.
"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you." Kara said moving to the couch.
"You okay?" The teen asked.
"I'm fine. What about you?"
"Fine." The teen said sitting up and looking at her watch. "There's food in the fridge if you want it."
"Have you eaten?"
"Yes, sorry. I wasn't sure when you'd be back so I ate with the others."
"You don't need to apologise for that." Kara said looking at her daughter. "You look really tired, you should go to bed."
"I'll stay up while you eat." The teen said.
"Okay." Kara said going to the kitchen and taking out the food. "This way we can catch up. You have lots to tell me about Matt. You seemed very close at the hospital." Realising her daughter hadn't answered Kara looked over at the couch and saw Alex had fallen to sleep again.

"You really aren't part of this?" The alien asked Supergirl the next day.
"No. And I want to stop it. But I can't do that unless you talk. To stop the people doing this we need evidence."
"The word of my people not enough?" The alien asked.
"Unfortunately not." Supergirl said causing the alien to hold out his arm. Moments later a small cube popped out of his skin.
"What the hell is that?" Alex asked watching from the observation room.
"No idea." Vasquez said.
"It's a huge security risk. They could have smuggled anything in." Alex said. "Figure out how we missed it." She said not taking her eyes off the room where the alien pressed some buttons on the cube before it projected a hologram showing the torture of several aliens.
"Where was this recorded?" Supergirl asked.
"What will happen to us?" The alien asked.
"You will be released, so you can go back to your planet." Alex said walking into the room.
"Why?"
"Because we need time to bring those responsible to justice." Alex said. "And to not have to defend ourselves from you. Stop the attacks on Earth and allow us to get those responsible."
"You expect me to believe that?"
"You can leave someone here to report back." Alex said.

"Hey." The older Kara said as she sat next to her niece. "Not that I am not happy to see you, but aren't you in the wrong home?"
"I needed a break from the MJ, Mel show." Her niece explained. "How come you aren't you with Alex?"
"Pretty sure she is avoiding me."
"Why?" The younger Kara asked. "Oh, the Matt interrogation."
"It's not an interrogation. I was just after information."
"I hear you didn't threaten him." The younger Kara said.
"Why would I threaten him? Do I need to threaten him?"
"No, but you can be overprotective." The younger Kara shrugged.
"You okay?" The older Kara asked noticing her niece seemed down.
"Sure."
"And the truth?"
"I felt so helpless and left out when MJ -"
"I'm sorry, I should have come and got you." Kara said.
"No, you needed to get mom to MJ, which you did. Besides, I wasn't even answering my phone." She said. "Sometimes it just feels lonely over there. I know you can just collect me anytime, but its not the same as being here." The younger Kara said before pausing and adding. "Diz and I had a huge fight."
"When?"
"Friday. The reason Alex couldn't reach me was because I was avoiding Diz, so I went out with some friends to a club and got wasted. But despite the fact I was completely in the wrong Diz drove all the way to Stanford to bring me back."
"You talk things over?"
"Not really. I was so hungover and stressed on the ride back I barely said anything and we've not talked since."
"Wasn't he waiting with you at the house?" The older Kara asked confused.
"Yeah, he refused to leave. But we didn't talk about the fight. It was mainly just me freaking out, then the others came and he left and like I said we've not talked since."
"That's easy enough to fix." The older Kara pointed out.
"Not if he doesn't want to talk to me." She said as her aunt pulled her in for a hug just as the older Alex walked into the room.
"What's wrong?" She asked, seeing her daughter was upset.
"Diz and I had a huge fight." The younger Kara said.
"Your mom and I used to have fights." Her mother responded.
"I know, the laundry room was not as sound proof as you two thought." Her daughter pointed out.
"My point is fights are normal. What matters is facing each other." Alex said.
"I know."
"Yet you are here." Her mother said. "What you need to decide is if you want to fix things."
"Of course I do."
"Then let's go." Her mother said.
"Go where?" The younger Kara asked as the front door opened and the teenage Alex entered.
"Why don't I drive you over to Diz?" Alex said to her daughter.
"What if-" The younger Kara asked.
"Only one way to answer those doubts." Her mother said taking her hand and pulling her to her feet. "Let's go." As she led her daughter from the apartment she looked at her niece and said. "See you later."
"Am I in trouble?" The teenage Alex asked her mother once it was just them.
"No, of course not."
"Then what was with the fast exit?"
"Nothing to do with you."
"Is Kara okay?" The teenage Alex asked.
"She will be. So you done avoiding me?" Kara asked.
"I'm not avoiding you."
"So Matt?"
"What about him?"
"How long have you been dating?"
"Technically we haven't. I mean we were on our first date when Mel called to say MJ was in hospital. And before that I saw you getting beaten up on the news and I got stressed so Matt probably never wants to see me again."
"If that were true he wouldn't have stayed with you at the hospital." Kara said.
"He kissed me."
"Wait, what?" Kara asked smiling. "When?"
"At the hospital when he left."
"And you are only mentioning this now?"
"Not seen much of you since the hospital."
"Well it sounds like we have a lot to catch up on." Kara said.
"Don't you need to work?"
"That can wait, this is so much more important."
"Pretty sure invasions are more important." The teen said.
"That is where you'd be wrong." Kara said.
