"What's happened?" Kara asked as she entered her sister's office a couple of weeks later.
"Nothing."
"Then what is with the frown?"
"It's Kara."
"What's happened? Do you want me to get her?" The older Kara immediately offered.
"No. She is just really stressed and I feel it is probably my fault. Maybe if I hadn't put so much pressure on her during high school she wouldn't feel so stressed now."
"Her exams end this week don't they? That will help."
"I don't know, she is staying on at Stanford to finish some assignments."
"Not coming here to see Diz?"
"No, Diz will be off on his DEO survival training."
"But you'll be here."
"Will I? Who knows when we are going to act?"
"Alex and MJ will be home soon." Kara pointed out.
"I know. And she'll come back for that. I just hate hearing her stressed." Alex sighed before asking. "Has Alex talked to you?"
"Well exams don't bother her, which even I admit is a little freaky. Not as bad as the vegetable thing, but not far off."
"I meant with all the anti-alien attacks happening." Alex pointed out.
"I know." Kara said. "She says she is fine, but she is lying."
"Well she is worried about you."
"She shouldn't have to be."
"I know, but it is what it is." Alex said.
"How do you know she is worried about me?"
"She told me."
"When?"
"An hour ago when I called her to ask if Kara was okay. But she didn't say she wasn't okay, but I think that is because she knew I'd tell you."
"She thinks way too much." Kara said as Alex's desk phone rang.
"Danvers." She answered. "Yes Sir … How long? … We'll be ready … Yes Sir." She then put down the phone and looked at her sister and guessed. "You listened?"
"Yes, so Cat is about to move? I thought she wanted to wait another month."
"The President's advisors didn't. So we need to be ready. Especially you. But for now, let's go watch."

"People of National City, of America, of the world." Cat began looking straight at the camera. "We are all used to change, and for many of us it is uncomfortable. Change makes us feel vulnerable and we naturally fight it. But sometimes change is good. Sometimes though change is bad. All we can do is seek out the truth and act accordingly. And when the truth is revealed we must have the courage to fight or embrace the change as the truth requires. For months we have watched Indomitable demonstrate his powers, argue for humans to protect humans. And many have embraced his words. However, evidence has now come to light that proves that Indomitable is who and what many of us feared he was. Rather than being the homegrown, clean cut all American hero with a pure heart, he is a self serving murderer." She paused and looked straight at the camera before finally saying.
"The following videos are harrowing and I would advise you not to watch, however, I know for many of you you need to see proof. And the originals will be posted on line which those of you are so inclined can verify. While I could give the videos a running commentary I don't need to. The images say all that there is to say. Once you have seen them only you can chose the right path, but that choice should be easy."
The video then changed to a montage of clips showing Indomitable murdering and torturing humans and aliens. As it played a message appeared at the bottom asking for those who fear their loved ones have been murdered by Indomitable to contact a hotline.

"Well Cat has done her thing." The President said over the video call an hour later. "I'll admit I thought it would be longer, but I guess simple is clear. Let's just hope it doesn't break out into civil war." He said. "On that note, we have troops mobilised in every state."
"Some of our old friends are ready to go, including the Flash and Superman." Alex said. "What we don't know is whether or not any of our weapons will be useful. So we have no idea if we can offer you useful backup." She finished looking at Supergirl.
"Danvers I sense you don't approve of the message Cat just broadcast." The President said.
"It's not the message." Alex said.
"Then what?"
"We have accused him of murder, but not arresting him." Supergirl said. "Not a great message."
"You know we don't have enough evidence for that. The lawyers said no."
"We know, but that could backfire." Alex argued.
"Cat warned me." The President said. "But I have faith in the people. No one in their right mind can watch those clips and still believe in Indomitable."
"Except we have proof they are being controlled." Alex said.
"You have theory." The President corrected as someone whispered into the President's ear just as Rose entered the room and said.
"Ma'am. Indomitable is broadcasting."
"Already?" Supergirl said. "He was clearly expecting it then."
"Put it on the screen." Alex said fearing they had just walked into a trap.
"People of National City, this Poppy Hunter, coming to you live with Indomitable. Many will have seen the recent attack on him by Cat Grant, who chose to show non-child friendly images to everyone. Well in America we believe in Independence and Neutrality which is why I am here with Indomitable to give him the chance to respond to Cat Grant's comments." She then looked at Indomitable and said. "Thank you for joining us, I know you are incredibly busy trying to keep us all safe."
"As always it is a pleasure to talk to you." Indomitable said. "And if the people need to hear from me I will happily talk. After all I am a man, a human, of the people for the people." He smiled flashing his white teeth.
"So how would you like to respond to Cat's message?" Poppy asked.
"Let's not focus on Cat Grant's vendetta." Indomitable said. "I want to focus on something more important. For the last year I have been forced by the government to sit back as aliens attack our homes, our friends, our families. Before then I watched as aliens were treated better then Metas. But I say no more. Now is the time to take a stand, not just me, all of us. Cat Grant and I have our differences, but she has a wisdom that can't be ignored and she was right, we have choice. To embrace the truth and change or fight it. Well I refuse to sit by any longer. I know some of you believe that Supergirl can be your saviour, she can't. She has shown you she is old, weak, tired. If you want to be saved, join me."
"I appreciate you want to protect the city." Poppy said. "But I am a journalist. And it is my job to ask questions the people want answers to, so I would ask you to spare a few minutes to address Cat's remarks."
"For you Poppy, anything." Indomitable smiled, slashing more white teeth.
"Thank you. Let me start with the big claim. You were called a murderer." Poppy said.
"A tag that has been used before. And if killing to protect the ones you love makes me a murderer, then so be it. However, in the legal sense, if the authorities had proof I was a murderer, presumably they would have arrested me."
"Damn it, Cat called it correctly." The President muttered, regretting not listening to her.
"I am not a politician." Indomitable said. "I don't care about votes or PR. I just want to protect my people. I will do that with all my strength. But like you I am just a human. Do I have strength to beat alien combatants like Kryptonians? I mean sure I could beat Supergirl, but what if an army of Kryptonians emerged in retaliation? Could I win? Honestly, alone, I don't know. But I do know that if you side with me we could beat a Kryptonian army. We can save humanity." He said before his expression changed. "I'm sorry there is a huge accident on the interstate. I have to go." He added flying off.
"There you have it." Poppy Hunter said. "It is time for you to decide. To fight for humanity or not."
"All hell is about to break lose." Alex said. "And we are the ones who set it up, we gave him what he wanted and he has turned this into a crusade."
"It's worse than that, he is going to want to give the public a display of him beating Supergirl." The President said before looking at the hero. "He wants to beat you in public so that the country sides with him."
"So I just need to beat him?" Supergirl asked.
"Yes, but is that possible?" The President asked.
"I've been training." Supergirl argued.
"My comment wasn't a criticism. From what I understand he has every power going. It be like fighting someone while blindfolded, with your hands behind your back and heavily sedated." The President said.
"He will have a weakness." Supergirl said.
"No doubt, but will you identify it before or after you are humiliated on national tv?" He asked.
"Hopefully before."
"Apart from hope? Is there a plan?" The President asked.
"Pray?" Alex offered before going on. "No matter what we do we are screwed."
"This is why we don't have you do press releases." The President said dryly before asking. "Is there anything we can do to make it a fairer fight?"
"We have done everything we can in terms of suit enhancements, but at the end of the day he will probably have countered most things."
"To me it sounds like we are asking you to fly to certain death." The President said looking at Supergirl.
"I've survived tougher." Supergirl said, although the confidence wasn't seen in her eyes.
"What happens if we send other operatives in first, maybe we can weaken him and even the odds?" The President asked.
"No guarantee they'd cause any damage. Plus from everything we have learned he doesn't seem to get tired." Alex said.
"Plus those Agents would get hurt or worse." Supergirl said.
"So what do you want to do?" The President asked.
"Face him now."
"Not now." Alex said almost in unison with the President.
"I can't sit back." Supergirl protested.
"I know, but you need him to call you out, not the other way round." Alex said as the President added.
"He has just implanted the idea that Kryptonians are going to invade Earth. If you attack him that plays into his hands. He has to be seen to call you out. So I need you to wait." The President said. "In the mean time I have an army of lawyers on this the second they say we can arrest him we will."
