Baratta jennifer - he still has many plans

"How are they?" Vasquez asked as Alex marched back into the control room.

"Stable. Any luck finding Lobo?"

"No. Nothing. But we are still looking." Vasquez said. "But the city is a mess. And we have no spare resources. Riots and looting everywhere."

"Any news from Ruby?"

"Yeah, they have been to both reported locations and nothing was there. But they have found some tracks that they are following."

"Ma'am, we have a radio transmission from Frax." Rose called.

"Finally." Alex said.

"Any change?" Eliza asked as Lena looked at the latest results.

"Blood work is almost back to normal. But no sign of her waking up." Lena said. "Any news on Kara?"

"No sign." Eliza said. "Alex is still looking. Frax has just returned so hopefully he can help." Eliza said before looking at Lena and saying. "Matt was covered in blood. He said it was Alex's. What happened?"

"I don't know. By the time she got here her wounds were healed." Lena said. "But whatever happened, I don't think it is the cause of her not waking up. But I will make sure that is the case." She added, grimacing slightly as she stretched across her desk.

"I've got it." Eliza said passing the tablet to Lena.

"Thanks." Lena smiled.

"Do you need anything?" Eliza questioned.

"I'll be fine. You should wait with Alex."

"You sure?" Eliza asked.

"Alex needs you. Go."

Once the older Alex had finished filling Frax in he asked.

"What can I do?"

"Right now I need your help finding Kara."

"Of course. I can run some scans. The sensors are still configured for Kryptonians." Frax said. "I will start immediately. Do you want to join me?"

"Yes. And I want a team there as well. Kara is likely to be in trouble."

"I will beam you up when you are ready." He said.

"We're ready." Alex said nodding to a small armed team.

"Very well." He said. "Don't worry, we have almost fully calibrated for the Earth's varying magnetic field."

"What do you mean almost?" Perkins asked as they were teleported.

As the other DEO members checked their body parts had all made it through transport Frax led Alex to the sensor room and started the scan as he explained. "I have also set up a lamp room on the ship. We should be able to transport her straight there."

"You have?" Alex asked.

"It seemed prudent." Frax said. "The scans are running. But it could still take an hour."

As Eliza stepped out of Alex's room to get some water she heard someone approach.

"Grandma?" MJ said walking towards her.

"MJ, are you okay?" Eliza asked.

"Fine. What about Alex? Shouldn't she have woken up by now?"

"We don't know why she hasn't woken up yet." Eliza said.

"Is it the compound they gave her?"

"I don't know." Eliza said. "That seems to be out of her system. For now all we can do is wait."

"Can we wait with her?"

"No, it is still too dangerous. But as soon as I know it is safe I will let you know."

"What about aunt Kara?"

"Still no sign."

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I will be when everything is back to normal." Eliza said before adding. "Go wait with the others, food should be coming soon."

"I don't think any of us are hungry."

"I know, but you need to keep your strength up."

"Are you sure she is on Earth?" Frax asked as the scan returned empty results.

"As far as we know." Alex said. "That said Indomitable may have access to portal technology. But my guess is she is still here, Indomitable said something about needing her and Alex."

"You said Alex was safe." Frax said.

"We rescued her." Alex said. "She is safe with Lena. If I thought she wasn't I would get you to transport her here. What I do know is her concern will be Kara."

"I can try increasing the sensitivity, it is possible she is shielded." Frax said.

"Are there any materials that are better at shielding than others?" Alex asked.

"Of course, I can send you a list." Frax said.

"Do that, we may be able to identify areas with those materials so you can narrow your search."

Nodding Frax looked at one of his officers before issuing a command in his native tongue. In response a semi heated debate started before the officer finally walked off.

"Problem?" Alex asked.

"He felt I am giving you too much tactical information."

"He is right." Alex conceded.

"Maybe, but Alex is a future head of the family and I know she would issue this command." He said, making the older Alex wonder what was expected of her niece in the future.

"Thank you." Alex said.

"Of course. In the mean time the scans are being restarted with maximum sensitivity."

"Alex? Can you hear me?" Eliza asked as her granddaughter started to wake up.

"Uzheiu?"

"I'm right here Sweetie."

"Not safe." The teen said trying to back away from her grandmother.

"Yes it is." Eliza said squeezing her granddaughter's hand. "Everything is out of your system."

"Did I hurt anyone?"

"No, you've been unconscious the whole time."

"So it worked." The teen said.

"What worked?" Eliza asked.

"I guessed it was some type of Kryptonite and they wanted me to do bad things. I thought if I maxed out using my other powers I would be knocked out. So I tried lifting the building."

Not sure how to react to the statement Eliza said. "The important thing is you are safe."

"The others?"

"Also fine."

"No. They were hurt because of me."

"What happened wasn't your fault." Eliza said.

"Yes it was. They were hurt and they saw what I was." The teen said. "Where's mom?"

"We don't know. But we are looking." Eliza said.

"He said they were going to kill her."

"We both know your mom is strong."

"They got Lobo."

"I know." Eliza said. "And I know it is hard, but you need to not worry. Why don't I get the others?"

"No, not after what happened."

"They want to see you." Eliza said. "If they didn't want to see you, they wouldn't be waiting here." Eliza pointed out as the door opened moments before Chewie scampered into the room and tried to jump up on the bed. Turning Eliza saw another grandchild.

"Kara, what are you doing here?" Eliza asked her eldest granddaughter.

"Checking on Alex."

"I'll let you two talk." Eliza said before looking at the teenage Alex. "Make sure you rest."

"How're are you doing?" The younger Kara asked her cousin as she lifted Chewie up and put him on Alex. "Or is that a dumb question?"

"I'm okay." She said stroking Chewie.

"MJ told me what happened." Kara went on. "I know you aren't going to be okay after that. So you can lie to grandma, and to yourself, but don't lie to me."

"I'm scared." The teen confessed.

"You're safe here." Her cousin said.

"It hurt so much. I never want that to happen again, but mom goes through that all the time."

"Well, you mom is special, plus like everyone else in this family a little insane." Her cousin smiled. "Come on, why don't we see the others?"

"Don't they hate me?"

"Why would they hate you?" Kara asked confused.

"I lied to them. They got hurt because of me."

"They don't hate you, but they are worried about you. So what do you say?"

"I'm tired." Alex said.

"Okay, but you can't put it off for ever."

"I know."

"Want me to let you get some sleep?" Her cousin asked.

"Can you stay with me?"

"Sure."

"You sure you got the instructions right?" Diz asked as the group of four DEO trainees walked through the desert.

"Don't trust me?" Harper said.

"Not when what should have been a two day task over runs this much." Diz pointed out.

"Can't help the Director wanting to make things tough on us. Surely you can appreciate that more than most." Harper said, although Diz ignored the comment. "Besides, you really think out trainers aren't watching? If there was a problem they'd come and berate us."

"Unless we are so lost." Diz argued. "Something seems wrong with them not contacting us for so long." Diz pointed out as he suddenly felt something slapped round his neck.

"What the hell?" Diz asked trying to take the collar off, only to find he couldn't.

"Your powers would make this hard." Harper said.

"What?" Diz asked before guessing. "You work for Indomitable?"

"Yes." Harper smiled.

"What the hell is going on?" Rice asked.

"The future." Gold said.

"What?" Rice asked.

"By now Indomitable has killed Supergirl and will be in control of the city. A few more hours he'll control the country. But the man is a perfectionist and he wants this guy." Harper explained.

"How long have you been working for him?" Diz asked.

"Months. The funny thing is Rice hated you so much the Director and everyone else wasted time watching him, allowing us to do what we needed to to." Harper smiled.

"Why are you doing this?" Diz asked.

"Power. Turn you over and we get powers." Gold explained before looking at Rice and saying. "Decision time for you. Join us or don't. But if you join us you get to see the end of Diz. Plus you'll be on the winning team."

For a moment Rice looked from Diz to Gold and Harper and then said. "Not like I ever belonged there anyway."

"Good." Harper said. Knowing he was out of options Diz started to run for it only to find Gold jumping on top of him and pushing him to the ground before punching him a few times.

"He can really give you powers safely?" Rice asked.

"Already has." Harper smiled. "Let me show you." He added before walking up to Diz and touching his head.

Moments later Diz screamed.

"Kar! No. Get off her."

"What's wrong with him?" Rice asked.

"I implanted a few nightmares. Very real nightmares." Harper smiled as Diz, tears rolling down his face jumped up and launched himself at Gold.

"Must have hit a real nerve." Harper laughed as Gold tried to fight off the wild Diz. Seeing Gold was losing Harper jumped in and tried to restrain him before shouting to Rice. "There's a syringe in my bag. Get it. It's a sedative."

Nodding Rice went into the bag and found the syringe before turning and seeing Harper and Gold roughly punching Diz before holding him down.

"Hurry." Harper shouted. The instruction causing Rice to approach the trio.

"Why do you always have to make things so hard?" Rice asked Diz who seemed calmer than a few minutes before.

"You'll regret this." Diz said struggling.

"Regret what? Winning?" Gold asked moving out of the way so Rice had access to Diz's neck. "Now time for you to cool off."

Overwhelmed with sadness and rage Diz almost didn't hear the Latino Los Zeta welcome, followed by some more Spanish telling him it wasn't real moments before feeling the syringe against his neck. Only instead of feeling a scratch he felt cold liquid roll down his skin. Not sure what was happening Diz had no choice than to trust Rice and pretended to be knocked out.

"What did you say to him?" Harper asked Rice.

"It is what the Los Zetas used to say before killing someone. Thought it was fitting." Rice said.
