"Morning." Kara smiled when her daughter entered the kitchen the next morning.

"Hey." The teen said.

"How'd did you sleep?"

"Okay I guess."

"Any nightmares?"

"Not bad ones." The teen said.

"It'll get better." Kara said hugging her. "How's Matt?"

"Don't know. I guess he's still asleep."

"So any plans today?"

"May do crazy golf."

"That sounds fun." Kara smiled.

"What about you?"

"Just work." Kara said. "Let me know if you want to do something for dinner. Or if you don't want me here tonight." She added as the door to the spare bedroom opened and a sleepy looking Matt stepped out. "Hi Matt." Kara smiled.

"Hi." He said.

"Well I've got to go. I'll see you later." Kara said leaving the apartment.

"Did I over sleep? Under sleep?" Matt asked Alex.

"You're fine." Alex smiled as her phone rang. Glancing at she she held it out to Matt. "I think this is for you." She added handing it to him.

"Sorry." He said before answering. "Hi mom."

"Less stressed?" The older Alex asked as Supergirl came into her office.

"Why am I stressed?"

"Matt, Alex, one bed or two rooms."

"It was two rooms." Kara said.

"Then what's with the crinkle?"

"What if they went for two rooms to make me feel more comfortable."

"I would remind you they are teens and teens are not normally that considerate."

"That's true."

"Besides, with your hearing I doubt they would do anything anyway." Alex said as Vasquez came into the office.

"We have something." Vasquez said.

"What?"

"We think we have found a lab linked to Indomitable."

"Where?"

"Lower East side."

"On i-" Supergirl started to say.

"Wait, this could still be a trap. I want a DEO team with you." Alex said.

"Okay." Supergirl said.

"Alex, we have a problem." Kara said as she stood in the lab with the DEO agents.

"What?" Alex asked as she looked at the screen showing the body cam footage. Suddenly seeing what her sister was getting at she asked. "Are they babies?"

"Yes." Kara said. "And they are all hooked up to IVs."

"A full med team will be there soon." Alex said. "Don't approach them."

"They are babies." Kara pointed out.

"Which may have been made by Tycho, for all we know they have Kryptonite in their blood."

"Or they are innocent babies." Supergirl argued.

"Or they sneeze Red K." Alex warned.

"Okay, staying away." Kara said.

"Well?" Kara asked as she impatiently paced at the DEO a few hours later.

"The team are still running tests." Her sister said.

"Where are their carers or the doctors?" Kara asked.

"Don't know. But from what my team have said each baby was in a unit that meant it didn't need care."

"That's sick." Kara said angrily as Alex's phone buzzed.

"I have the initial findings and they are human." Alex said.

"But?" Kara asked.

"Their cells aren't normal." Alex said scanning the report.

"As in metas?"

"No, as in artificially modified." Alex said trying to read the report. "They don't know if they have powers, but they have been modified."

"They experimented on babies?" Kara asked looking appalled.

"Actually they experimentally grew them." Vasquez said approaching before explaining. "We got into some of the files on the local computers. They were part of a project to grow specifically engineered humans."

"What?" Kara asked.

"Are you really that surprised?" Alex questioned as Vasquez said.

"But it is actually worse than that."

"How can it be worse?"

"We are pretty sure Baby 5 was used as a donor."

"Donor for what?"

"Everything, including Indomitable."

"What?"

"We think Baby 5's stem cells were -"

"Can we call him an actual name?" Kara interrupted.

"Before you get too attached, Bab-, the baby, he may not survive." Alex said.

"Why?"

"He has been used as an experiment. He is showing abnormal growth and could be in a lot of pain." Alex said reading the file her team had sent.

"And the others?"

"Four are clones? The other seven aren't but were experimentally … grown."

"Have they been experimented on too?"

"Yes." Vasquez confirmed.

"What were you saying about donors?" Alex asked Vasquez.

"Right yes, Baby fi-, I mean the baby had bone marrow cells extracted and used in Indomitable. It looks like he was getting daily transplants."

"Doing so many should have killed the baby." Alex said.

"We are still trying to figure out why it didn't." Vasquez said.

"What's going to happen to them?" Kara asked.

"I don't know. I have a meeting with the President tomorrow to discuss it." Alex said. "But there is a good chance they won't survive."

"I need some air." Kara said leaving.

"Alex, there is another problem." Ruby said approaching her.

"What?"

"The owner of the lab is Geoff Goodrich."

"Why does that sound- wait as in Mel's father?" Alex asked.

"Yeah." Ruby confirmed.

"Let me know when he is in custody, then I'll break the news to Mel."

"How come you are home so early?" MJ asked his mother from the couch where he and Mel were watching a movie.

"I need to speak to you." Alex said.

"Want me to go?" Mel asked.

"Actually it's you I need to speak to." Alex said.

"What's going on?" MJ asked.

"We have been continuing our investigation into Indomitable. And we found a lab, which conducted some very unethical experiments. We shut it down, and this afternoon arrested those connected to it. One of those people was your father." Alex said.

"I should leave." Mel said standing.

"I'm sorry. I get that you might be angry with me, but MJ isn't to blame." Alex said.

"Why would I be angry with you?" Mel asked.

"For arresting your dad."

"He's a jerk." Mel said. "And from what you said an evil jerk."

"Then why are you leaving?" MJ asked.

"Don't you hate me?" Mel questioned.

"Why?" MJ asked confused.

"You saw what Indomitable did to Alex and Supergirl. From the sound of it my dad helped him."

"Yeah, but you didn't." MJ said.

"You can separate us?"

"Mel, you aren't your father." Alex said.

"You do know my godmother is Lena, as in Luthor?" MJ asked.

"I'll let you two talk." Alex said standing. "But Mel, no one here blames you."

Not getting any response from Kara's phone, the older Alex jogged over to her sister's apartment and was about to open the door when she had second thoughts. Instead she banged on the door. Getting no immediate response she was about to turn away when the door finally opened.

"Hi." Her niece greeted.

"Hey, have you seen your mom?" Alex asked her niece.

"No. She sent me a message saying she'd be back late. Why?"

"Just wondering. If you see her let her know I am looking for her."

"Want me to call her?"

"No. It's nothing urgent." Alex said. "When she gets back let her know I am at Lena's."

"Sure."

"What are you doing up?" Kara asked when she came home and saw her daughter sitting on the couch late that evening.

"Waiting for you."

"Why?"

"Alex was looking for you, so I guessed something bad had happened."

"I'm okay." Kara said. "Where's Matt?"

"Asleep. So what's wrong?" Alex asked.

"Nothing."

"Should I call Alex?"

"I'm okay and your aunt will be asleep. Which is what you should be."

"Can we go out somewhere?"

"What about Matt?"

"He's asleep." Alex repeated.

"I'm not sure anything will be open now."

"We could just go for a walk." Alex said, the suggesting causing Chewie to jump off the couch and run to the door.

"Well, I guess Chewie has spoken." Kara said as Alex stood.

"I'll just get my jacket." The teen said.

"So what's wrong?" The teenager asked as they walked.

"Nothing."

"Crinkle." The teen countered.

"Fine, something. I just saw something bad." Kara said. "But enough about me. How are you doing?"

"Okay, I guess."

"So the not sleeping tonight was …."

"I was waiting for you." The teen said. "But had I slept I probably would have had nightmares."

"I know it is hard right now, but you will be okay." Kara said. "The important thing is to face up to what happened and to talk about it."

"Why? It won't change what happened."

"No, but it will change what will happen." Kara said. "It is easier to run from your fears than face them. But to move on you need to face them. But the important thing is you don't have to do that alone. Whenever you are ready to talk I'm here."

"I know." The teen said. "But not yet."

"Okay." Kara said. Knowing better than to push she asked. "So how are things with Matt?"

"Fine."

"You know just because you are a teenager doesn't mean you have to answer like one?" Kara asked.

"What do you want me to say?" Alex asked. "Pretty sure you want details as much as I want details about you and Steve."

"That's … okay, you have a point. But for the record there isn't really a Steve and I."

"Only because you keep stopping it. You like him, he likes you, there shouldn't be a problem." The teen shrugged moments before Kara saw her sister walking towards them.

"Alex? What are you doing here?" She asked. Before the older Alex could answer the younger one said.

"I'll see you at home." The teen then walked off with Chewie.

"Did Alex set this up?" Kara asked when it was just her and her sister.

"She may have sent me a message telling me to come here." Her sister said.

"I'm okay." Kara said.

"No you're not." Alex said bluntly. "How can you be?"

"I just … how can anyone do that? It was just so evil."

"I know." Alex said.

"It made me so angry, but I can't afford to get angry. Especially right now."

"Right now?"

"Alex needs me. She isn't dealing with what happened very well."

"Neither are you." Alex pointed out as the two sat on a bench.

"I keep thinking about all the things they could have done to Alex."

"Alex is safe." Her sister reminded her.

"I know." Kara said leaning against her sister. "But those babies aren't are they?" Kara pointed out before asking. "What's wrong with you? You seem agitated."

"It's been a bad day. After you went we arrested Mel's father."

"Wait. What?" Kara asked sitting up straight and looking at her sister.

"He owned the lab." Alex explained.

"Seriously?" Kara asked looking disgusted.

"Yeah. He lawyered up the second he was taken into custody."

"Does Mel know?"

"Yes, I told her."

"How did she take it?"

"Thought we blamed her. Offered to leave."

"You put her right?"

"Of course, but I don't know if she listened."

"We should get Lena to talk to her." Kara said.

"One step ahead of you." Alex assured her.

"This whole thing sucks." Kara said before asking. "What's going to happen to them?"

"The babies? I don't know. For now we need to keep them in the lab, we can't risk moving them, until we know for sure what is in the IVs. Hopefully it won't be a long wait. But tomorrow I have to go see the President to discuss all options." Alex said.
