Baratta jennifer - Thank you.
"Hi." Kara said entering her apartment and seeing her daughter and her niece on the couch watching a movie a couple of days later.
"Hi mom." Alex called back as her niece said while pausing the movie.
"Everything okay?"
"It's fine." Kara smiled.
"We are having a movie night if you want to join us." Alex said.
"Actually I am going out." The older Kara said.
"Hot date with Steve?" Her niece questioned as Alex's phone rang.
"It's Matt." The teenage Alex said jumping up and going to her room to take the call.
"So where's he taking you?" Kara asked her aunt when it was just them.
"I never said I was going out with Steve." The older Kara pointed out.
"But you are." The younger Kara said.
"Yes."
"Somewhere the family can't find you and interrupt?" The younger Kara asked. Seeing her aunt's glare she explained. "Mom said I should tease you."
"Did she?" The older Kara asked.
"Yes."
"And yet you are silent in front of her." The older Kara pointed out.
"Well yeah, if I tease you in front of mom, she may use it as yet another excuse not to date." The younger Kara said as the apartment door opened.
"Good you are here." Lena said walking in. "I need your help."
"Sure. With what?" The older Kara asked.
"Numbers."
"As in a math problem?" The older Kara asked confused.
"No as in numbers. I need people." Lena said.
"Still not following." Her friend replied.
"There is a charity gala, which I may have forgotten about, and I need to fill a table. Seeing I am technically the main sponsor, it's not the type of event I can just buy my way out of. So what do you say?"
"How many people do you need?" Kara asked.
"At least six. Not including me." Lena said looking at the older Kara.
"When is it?"
"Tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" Kara asked.
"I have had more pressing things on my mind, like Indomitable." Lena reminded her.
"I'll ask Steve." The older Kara said.
"Thank you." Lena said. "Sam is in, so that is three. I am pretty sure you can blackmail your sister. Which leaves two." Lena said looking at the younger Kara. "What about you and Diz?" Lena asked the younger Kara.
"It's not really Diz's thing." The younger Kara said, but as Lena continue to look at her she added. "But I will ask."
"Thank you." Lena said watching as the younger Kara fired off a message to Diz. Lena then looked back at Kara and said. "I did consider asking you to come as both you and Supergirl, it is always amusing watching you switch in and out."
"Let's not go for that option." The older Kara said as her niece's phone buzzed.
"Problem?" Lena asked seeing the younger Kara frown.
"No. That was Diz, he said yes."
"Excellent. Thank you for saving me."

The next day, as the older Alex walked down a corridor with Vasquez and one of the aliens who had been helping them, the alien looked through into one the cells where Supergirl was playing with Gizmo, he asked. "Why is Supergirl playing with a Groppel?"
"A what?" Alex asked.
"A Groppel."
"You mean Gizmo?" Alex asked. "Wait, you know what Gizmo is?"
"Gizmo?" He asked confused.
"The Groppel." Alex clarified.
"Yes, it is a pest. You'd call it a rod, no a rodent." He said. "They are vicious creatures that destroy our harvests, attack our people and reproduce far too fast."
"So it is actually a Gremlin." Vasquez said.
"Better than a Tribble." Alex shrugged before asking the alien. "Do you want it back?"
"No." He said almost recoiling. "It should be destroyed."
"Yeah, that's not happening. Supergirl has grown attached." Alex said.
"Why?" The alien asked. "It is vermin."
"Well she is Supergirl." Vasquez said as Supergirl stepped out into the corridor.
"What's wrong?" She asked seeing the trio look at her.
"We have identified Gizmo. He's a Groppel." Her sister said.
"Does that mean he's going home?" Supergirl asked sadly.
"No. He's not wanted there." Alex said.
"So we can keep him?" Supergirl asked.
"At least for now, I guess." Alex said.
"Wait." The alien said.
"What? I thought you didn't want it?" Alex asked.
"I don't, but I need you to confirm that us leaving the Groppel here will not be considered an act of war." The alien said to Alex.
"Act of war?" Alex asked.
"Yes, it is a Groppel." The alien said wondering why the human couldn't grasp the concept.
"It will not be considered an act of of war." Alex said. "But we would appreciate any information on the Groppel you have."
"I will never understand this planet." The alien muttered walking off, quickly followed by Vasquez.
"So I can keep him?" Kara asked her sister.
"Yes, but he does not leave that cell." Alex said, hoping the decision would not come back and bite her.
"Okay, I'll tell him the good news and then we'll go. We need to get ready."
"You going to tell me what we are getting ready for?"
"No, but it will be fun." Kara said. "Actually can I meet you at home?"
"Why?"
"I want to check on the babies."
"I'll come with you." Alex said.
"You don't have to."
"I know, but you shouldn't see them alone. You are carrying far too much guilt for that."

"Why am I here?" Alex asked Lena that evening.
"You are my friend and I needed help." Lena reminded her.
"And Kara unleashed the pout." Sam added.
"How come Ruby isn't here?"
"She said she was working." Lena said.
"She lied." Alex replied.
"In her defence, Ash is back." Sam said.
"They could have seen each other here." Alex pointed out.
"You do know Diz is making less fuss than you are?" Lena said amused as she watched Diz and Kara dance in the distance.
"More impressively, Alex, you are looking very relaxed about them." Sam said.
"Well I am not too proud to admit I may have been wrong about Diz." Alex conceded.
"This is the personal growth many thought wasn't possible." Lena commented.
"Remind why I am here again?" Alex asked.
"You are my friend and Ruby had an excuse." Lena said as the music stopped and the others approached them.
"Still got your toes?" Alex asked Steve.
"Um, yeah. Why?"
"History." Alex shrugged.
"Why are you being mean to me?" Kara asked her sister.
"Because I can't think of anything mean to say to Lena."
"Have we missed something?" The younger Kara asked.
"Just your mother being grumpy." Lena said before noticing how uncomfortable Diz was looking and saying. "Thank you for coming tonight. And staying."
"Of course." The younger Kara said.
"As a thank you, I have arranged for food and drinks on the roof top. It should have a good view of the eclipse." Lena said. "I have to stay for another half hour to be seen enough. But it is open now, if you two want to head up."
"Thanks Lena." The younger Kara smiled.
"My pleasure." Lena replied.

"How come we couldn't escape." Alex asked an hour later.
"They deserve time alone." Lena reminded her.
"I deserve time alone, yet I am here." Alex countered as the group got in the elevator.
"What I am hearing is you need to get out more." Sam said. "Should I plan another weekend?"
"No." Alex said. "I still haven't recovered from the last one."
"You need to build stamina." Lena said as the doors opened.
As Alex, Kara, Steve, Lena and Sam walked onto the rooftop they saw the teenage Kara, wearing Diz's jacket, her back leaning into his chest as they looked out at the city. But what caught Alex's eye was a small glint.
"Oh my god." She said coming to a standstill.
"What?" Steve asked confused as Sam immediately saw what Alex had seen.
"I know what you are feeling, but you need to focus on one thing right now. How happy Kara looks." Sam said.
"What?" The older Kara asked before noticing what they had seen and squealing, gaining the attention of the two younger adults.
"Hi." The younger Kara said turning to face the others. Knowing they had already seen the ring she said. "We're engaged."
"Congratulations." Alex said pulling them both in for a hug.
"You know now I get to hug you whenever." The older Kara said to Diz before hugging him.
"Was anyone expecting that?" Steve whispered to Lena.
"Don't think so."

"How are you doing?" Sam asked that night as the older generation gathered in Lena's lounge.
"They are so young." Alex said. "I mean I was ten years older then them when I got engaged to Maggie, and we know how that went."
"Wasn't that kinda driven by the adrenaline of the Earth nearly being invaded. Which was an intense experience, and as we know, relationships based on intense experiences never work." The older Kara countered.
"Really?" Alex asked. "You are bringing Speed into this?"
"Better than Speed 2." Kara shrugged. "Besides Kara seems a lot more… thoughtful, than you."
"She is." Alex agreed.
"And Diz is way more thoughtful, especially as he doesn't want to risk a homicidal you."
"I know. But they are only twenty one." Alex said.
"You sure it isn't making you realise how old you are?" Kara asked.
"Wow, talk about kicking someone when they are down." Steve commented.
"Plus she has now made all of us feel old. Who knew she could still develop new powers." Lena said before adding. "At her age."
"I'm just scared. Kara and MJ are growing up so fast." Alex said. "And …" She added before trailing off.
"And what?" Kara asked moving to her side.
"I just wish Kel was here."
"I know." Her sister said hugging her.
"I know it's not the same, but you have all of us." Sam said sitting on Alex's other side and joining the hug.
"Thanks." Alex said.
