Getting pulled from the dreamworld MJ found himself in the DEO lab screaming for Alex.
"MJ, it's okay." His mother said rushing to his side.
"No it's not. It's too early, I need to go back." He said sitting up.
"You can't." Alex said.
"Do you want me to extract Kara?" Bailey asked Alex.
"No! Don't!" MJ pleaded. "She needs more time. There's a plan. Please trust me."
"MJ, if Alex dies, Kara dies." His mother said.
"We know." MJ said.
"Alex, as touching as this is, you need to stop it." Max said from the controls.
"Alex is okay, so's Kara." MJ said. "Worldkiller-1 knows if Alex dies they die so they are protecting her kind of. At least stopping her die. There is a plan. It will work. They just need time. But you need to be ready just in case."
"Ready for what?"
"Alex may be about to crash and Worldkiller-1 may be about to leave."
"What?" His mother asked.
"They are trying to force the issue." MJ said. "They have it under control." He added.
"Crash cart standing by." Bailey said as they watched Alex's blood pressure spike moments before she started to convulse and alarms went off in the infirmary.
"What the hell is that?" Max asked seen black slime leak out of Alex's nose, mouth and ears.
As the black slime leaked out of Alex Vasquez captured it in a jar.
"Not yet." MJ said. "Kara has to save Alex."
But as Alex flat lined the older Alex moved towards her daughter.
"Please trust me." MJ begged as a doctor tried to restart Alex's heart.
"Get him out of here." Alex ordered one of her agents.
"No. Please. Kara is okay while Alex's brain is working right?" MJ pleaded as he was dragged off.
"We don't know that." His mother said as her daughter's vitals started to become erratic.
"Get her-" Alex started to say just as Alex's heart restarted moments before her daughter's eyes flew open.
"Did it work?" Kara asked panting.
"Worldkiller-1 is out." MJ said.
"Alex?" She asked looking round.
"Not awake." MJ said. "Did you-"
"She was okay when I came out."
"Will one of you please tell me what happened." The older Alex asked, loosing patience as the older Kara burst in, her sudden presence causing both of Alex's kids to unintentionally flinch, a movement that was not missed by their mother.
"Alex!" Kara pleaded.
"She's stable." Her sister said. "And Worldkiller-1 is contained."
"Why isn't she awake?" Kara asked desperately.
"She probably needs time. But I need you to wait outside while we run some tests." Alex said nodding to J'onn.
"Come on." J'onn said pulling Kara out of the room. Once she was gone Alex looked at her kids and asked.
"What do I need to know?"
"Worldkiller-1 spent the whole time taking Alex close to death and saving her." The younger Kara said. "But she's okay." She added as Lena started running scans on the teenage Alex.
"And you two?" The older Alex asked, knowing her kids weren't going to give her anything more.
"Fine." MJ said.
"Go next door and get checked out."
"But-" MJ started.
"Go." The older Alex said. "We need to make sure Alex is okay."
"Fine." MJ said reluctantly before the pair left the room. As they did Kara found herself pulled into a hug.
"You okay?" Diz asked holding her.
"I'm fine."

"How are you doing?" Steve asked as he joined the pacing Kara in the observation room.
"Steve?" Kara asked turning.
"Hey." He said pulling her into his arms before repeating his question. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine, but Alex. She isn't waking up." Kara said before confessing. "I tried to kill her."
"That wasn't you."
"My body. My weakness. My stupidity brought Worldkiller-1 into this. What if she doesn't wake up? What if the last thing she remembers is me killing her? What if that is why she won't wake up?"
"Kara, Alex will be okay." Steve said holding her tighter.
"Then why isn't she waking up?"
"Wasn't she fighting a mental battle?" Steve asked. "That's got to be tiring." He then pulled back and asked. "Why are you pacing in here, rather than sitting with Alex?"
"The last thing she saw before Worldkiller-1 took her over was me trying to kill her. I don't want to freak her out." Kara said.
"Okay, well do you want to talk about what happened to you?" Steve asked.
"Not really. I just want Alex to wake up and forgive me." Kara said as Lena entered the room. On seeing her friend she asked.
"Why isn't she waking up?"
"She has been fighting Worldkiller-1, who I am guessing has put up a strong fight. It would have been taxing. She needs rest." Lena said. "So do you. Your sister said you can either let me examine you or she'll stop looking after Alex and examine you herself."
"I'm fine." Kara said. "But fine, run your tests, but I am not leaving here."

Opening her eyes the teenage Alex tried to focus and figure out where she was. Seeing her aunt sitting to one side she said.
"Al-" But her voice was too hoarse to finish.
"Hey." The older Alex said moving to her side and passing her some water. "How are you feeling?"
"Mom?" The teen immediately asked.
"She's fine. And Worldkiller-1 is gone."
"Then where's mom?" The teen asked sounding dazed.
"Next door, as soon as you are ready she'll come in."
"Kara and MJ?" The teen asked sitting up as her mind tried to figure out what was real and what wasn't.
"They're fine." Alex smiled. "How are you feeling?"
"Okay. Confused? Are you sure Worldkiller is gone?"
"Yes. You are safe. While I don't know what happened, I can make some guesses. So what happens now is about you. Do you want to see anyone or just recover?"
"Can I see mom?"
"Of course you can." Her aunt smiled waving at the window. "I promise you, Worldkiller is gone. You are both safe. But you both need to rest." She added just as the door opened and Kara rushed in.
"Mom?" The teenage Alex asked. "Are you okay? I was so scared when you went missing."
"Hey, I'm right here." Kara smiled.
"Worldkil-"
"Gone. You're safe, so am I."
"What about Kara and MJ?"
"They're fine." Kara smiled. "How are you feeling?"
"Okay I guess."
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Kara said sitting next to her daughter on the bed and hugging her.
"I thought I lost you." The teen said. "I was so scared when you were missing."
"I'm okay thanks to you." Kara smiled.
"What happened to you?" The teenager asked.
"I made a stupid mistake and got captured." Kara said. "But all that matters is we are both home." She added as the door opened and the older Alex came back in with Steve and Lena.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Lena asked.
"Okay, just tired."
"Rest should help. We will keep you in tonight to make sure you are okay." Alex said. She then turned to her sister and said. "Kara you need to go home."
"Not while Alex is here."
"You both need rest. You can either be under the lamps or at home. But you aren't staying in here."
"Go home." The younger Alex said to her mother. "Chewie needs company." Seeing her mother was about to argue she added. "I'll sleep better knowing you are safe at home."
"We'll look after Alex." Lena added.
"Come on, I'll take you." Steve said.
"Call if you need anything." Kara said hugging her daughter one more time. "I love you."
"Love you too." Alex said.
"So how are you really doing?" Lena asked the teenage Alex once Kara had gone.
"I'm okay. Are you sure it's gone?"
"Yes." Her aunt smiled.
"MJ and Kara?"
"They're fine." Alex assured her. "How about you eat something?"
"Actually, I'm kinda tired."
"Okay, I'll be back in a couple of hours with some food." The older Alex said.

"I shouldn't have left." Kara said when she entered the apartment with Steve.
"Alex is okay." Steve reminded Kara as Chewie excitedly jumped up and down. "And you need rest. You have been through a lot." He said guiding her to the couch before putting the takeout bags on the table.
"You don't need to stay." Kara said.
"Yeah I do. Firstly, you are going to spend the evening convincing yourself everything is your fault and I need to stop you doing that. Secondly I was convinced I lost you. I need a constant reminder that you are okay." Steve said pulling her into his chest.
"Thank you." Kara said holding him tightly. But as Chewie started pawing at her leg she pulled away and lifted him up. "I missed you too." She said to the dog. "Let's get you some food."
"Didn't MJ say Mel had fed him?" Steve asked.
"Yes, but he looks hungry." Kara said as she handed Chewie to Steve and started to prepare some food for the dog.
"I think you have all the power here." Steve said to Chewie as he put him down before carefully watching Kara.
Once Kara had put the bowl of food down for Chewie she turned and saw Steve looking at her.
"I'm okay."
"Pretty sure that is a lie." Steve said. "Did they hurt you?"
"A little, I've had worse. I mean they had nothing on Indomitable or Lobo."
"But you didn't have powers?" He asked.
"No."
"So you were feeling vulnerable?" He probed.
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry I didn't notice you were gone sooner." He said hugging her.
"How could you have done? You were working."
"Still feel bad. Pretty sure Alex also feels really guilty. Both of them."
"What happened is solely on me." Kara said into his chest.
