"Shouldn't you be at home?" The younger Kara asked entering her mother's office.
"Kara? Why are you still here? I mean Diz is meant to be resting. And so are you."
"Don't worry Diz is still in the infirmary and he is resting. I am here for Alex. I didn't want her to be alone tonight so I'm going to stay in her room."
"How bad was it?" Alex asked.
"Bad."
"Want to talk about it?"
"It's for Alex to share, not me or MJ."
"Okay. But you know that wasn't your aunt?" Her mother asked.
"What?" The younger Kara asked confused.
"I saw the way you and MJ flinched when she came into the room. What ever happened in Alex's head, that wasn't your aunt."
"I know. We know. It just took a moment to get back into this reality." Her daughter said. "Is that why you sent aunt Kara away?"
"Your aunt needs rest and she needs to talk about what happened to her and give herself time to recover, which will be easier if Alex isn't there. But yes I was also concerned about Alex and what she would remember or not. It wasn't just what happened in her head. When Worldkiller-1 was in control of your aunt off world she tried to kill Alex." Her mother said before asking. "You okay?"
"I'm fine."
"Going to tell me how you got out?" Alex asked.
"Out?"
"Of your cousin's dream."
"Oh that. Worldkiller-1 knew they couldn't kill Alex as they'd also die, so always gave Alex some recovery time." Her daughter said.
"Okay?" Alex said not sure where her daughter was going.
"During that time Worldkiller-1 kinda disappeared which gave us a window."
"To do what?" Alex asked already knowing she wouldn't like the answer.
"Sure you want to know?" Kara asked.
"No, but I need to know."
"Okay, but you need to not over react." Her daughter said.
"I will do my best." Alex said feeling her migraine growing.
"Okay, when Alex told us what was happening we decided to test what could and couldn't do in there. Worldkiller-1 had powers so we couldn't do much without getting our asses handed to us. And Worldkiller-1 didn't care if we died. But they knew they couldn't kill Alex. So Alex took the brunt of it while we tried to figure out how much time we had between Alex nearly dying and Worldkiller-1 showing up again."
"So all those heart rate spikes were you getting hurt?" Alex asked.
"I don't know. Maybe. But it wasn't real."
"Kinda was." Alex reminded her. "What happened then?"
"When we had enough information, well actually when we thought Alex couldn't take any more, we went to phase b."
"Which was?" Her mother asked.
"Alex swum out to sea and tried to drown herself. When Worldkiller-1 showed up, MJ and I fought it to buy Alex more time. When Alex started to pass out she focused on ejecting MJ so that he could warn you what was happening. Once he was gone it kind went crazy in there. Worldkiller-1 was still fighting, but then the world, or the dream became unstable. Everything started shaking and then Worldkiller-1 disappeared. But the waves were getting worse and the ground was shaking. I went into the water and tried to get Alex. I really thought I'd lost her." Kara said pausing to collect herself before going on. "But then I was still alive, which I guessed meant she was still alive. Finally I found her and dragged her to surface just as there was a massive light and then I was in the infirmary."
"Something tells me you are as bad as your aunt at skirting over important details." Alex said, her mind already filling in the gaps.
"How are you doing?" Her daughter asked.
"Me? Fine. Why?"
"The last few days have been a little stressful." Her daughter pointed out. "And that is on the back of the whole Indomitable thing."
"I'm fine." Alex assured her. "That said you and your brother scared me. I never want to see either of you in the infirmary again. But I'm proud of both of you." Alex said as Ruby entered the office.
"Boss." Ruby called frowning.
"What is it?" Alex asked.
"Um, Alex is missing."
"What do you mean missing?" The older Alex said standing.
"Well she's not in the infirmary. We are pretty sure she is at the DEO though. We are searching now."
"I'm pretty sure she is in a cell." Alex said leaving her office.
"Why is she in a cell?" Ruby asked confused.
"Unlike my kids she actually listens to my threats." Alex said.
"That didn't really explain anything." Ruby pointed out as Alex disappeared down the corridor.
"It did to me." The younger Kara said.

"Alex." The older Alex called as she entered the cell where the teen was sitting on the bed.
"Hi." The teen said.
"Why are you here?"
"Pretty sure I disobeyed your orders and then I hurt Diz and Ruby and mom, plus Kara and MJ put themselves in danger. You were pretty clear on the punishment."
"Alex, thanks to you your mom is safe. And you hurt Diz and Ruby while trying to protect them." Her aunt said sitting next to her. "What matters is everyone is okay."
"You think mom is?"
"You think she isn't?" Her aunt countered.
"I don't know. I mean has she told you everything or even anything?"
"She'll tell us eventually." Her aunt said. "What I do know is if she finds out you are in a cell she is not going to be okay." She paused and looked at her niece before asking. "You hungry? Actually don't answer, you'll only lie. Let's go get some food."
"But aren't I a prisoner here?"
"No." The older Alex smiled before hugging her niece. "But maybe you can make your mom as reflective as you. Although that is probably asking the impossible." She then released the teenage Alex and got to her feet. "Come on, let's go."
"Where?"
"Seeing how late it is probably my office for takeout. Your cousin is already there, why don't you wait with her and I'll place the order."
"Sure."

"How are you feeling?" Kara asked her cousin as she entered the office.
"Okay, I guess. Thank you for what you did."
"Anytime." Kara smiled.
"But-" The teenage Alex started, pausing to search for words.
"Don't tell anyone what we saw?" Kara guessed.
"Yeah. Not until I've had a chance to tell mom. I want her to hear it from me."
"Don't worry, what happens in a weird dreamscape while possessed by a genetically modified maniac stays in the dreamscape. MJ won't say anything either."
"Thanks."
"Sure. But if you want to talk about any of it, you know I am here right?"
"I do. And I will, just not yet."
"Whenever you are ready. Although I should warn you MJ is busy psychoanalysing you."
"I'll bet." The teen said before asking. "What if this isn't real? How do I know Worldkiller-1 isn't going to appear and try killing me again?"
"Hope and faith?"
"I'm serious."
"So am I." Kara said. "But if you want proof …" She said jumping up and going to her mother's desk and looking through the drawers.
"What are you doing?" Alex asked.
"Looking for this." Kara said holding up a small mirror.
"You are proving I am not a zombie?" Alex asked lost.
"What? Oh you mean vampire." Kara said. "And no. I want you to look at something." She said passing the mirror to her cousin.
"What?"
"What do you see?" Kara asked.
"Me?"
"Yeah, but what about your skin?"
"What about it? It looks like skin."
"Precisely. In dreamworld you could get hurt, your body had the scars and bruises from every attack you suffered in there. Here you don't."
"Not sure that is proof. But even if you are right, what if Worldkiller-1 actually won and is in me?"
"Worldkiller-1 is in a lab in one of the smallest prisons you will ever see." Kara assured her. "You are safe. But something tells me you aren't comforted."
"I'm scared." The teen said.
"I know." Kara said hugging her. "But I've always got your back, so has MJ."
"Thank you for saving me." Alex said.
"Anytime." Her older cousin.

"Okay. One large pizza with vegetables." The older Alex said walking into the office thirty minutes later. "Followed by half melted ice cream." she added holding up a tub of ice cream. She then looked at her niece and said. "By the way I got a message from Steve, your mom is fine."
"Thanks." The teen said.
"So how are you feeling?"
"Okay."
"Want to talk about what happened?" Her aunt probed.
"Not really."
"You know your mom isn't going to let it go."
"I know. I'll talk to her tomorrow."
"Okay." Her aunt said. "Let's have dinner then."
