A/N: Thanks for the reviews.
Baratta jennifer - Thanks!
"Thank you." Kara said to her daughter as they sat in the apartment.
"For what?" The teen asked as she stroked Chewie.
"What do you mean for what?" Kara asked confused. "You saved me."
"So you're not mad?"
"Why'd I be mad?"
"I left Earth."
"True, but you were with your aunt."
"If she'd said no I would have gone anyway." The teen confessed.
"Let's focus on the fact you were with your aunt." Kara said. "How are you doing?"
"I don't know." The teen said. Seeing her daughter wanted to say something Kara silently waited. "It could go through my memories." Alex said after a few moments. "It found everything I feared and made me relive it, again and again."
"I'm so sorry." Kara said hugging her.
"It's not your fault."
"Yes it is. I let my self get mind wiped and taken over." Kara said. "I am so sorry for hurting you."
"It wasn't you." Alex said leaning against her mother.
"You must have been so scared." Kara said holding her tightly.
"I thought I was going to lose, and then Kara and MJ showed up."
"You have some very brave, very strong cousins." Kara said before asking. "Want to talk about what exactly happened in the dream world?"
"I thought if I was somewhere I felt safe, I'd be stronger. So I pictured Midvale." The teen said. "But that didn't keep me safe. Worldkiller-1 kept showing up and tried to kill me. Again and again."
"As Worldkiller-1 or as me?" Kara asked.
"You, but it wasn't like before. I knew it wasn't you. I knew you wouldn't do that so it helped me remember it wasn't real."
"But it felt real?"
"Yes." The teen said. "And I didn't have powers so I felt so weak."
"Trust me, to survive that, you aren't weak." Kara said as she held her tightly. "But it will take time to get over what happened."
"Anything to make that quicker?"
"Talk and do normal things. Speaking of which, I have a surprise for you."
"What?"
"Technically it was MJ's idea." Kara said just as there was a knock on the door. "It's for you." Kara said releasing her.
"Who is it?"
"If you answer the door you'll find out." Kara smiled. Confused Alex walked to the door and opened it.
"Matt?" Alex asked.
"Hi." He smiled before hugging her.
"I'll let you guys catch up." Kara said leaving the apartment and joining J'onn in the corridor.
"Thanks for getting him." Kara said to J'onn.
"Of course." He smiled. "How are you feeling?"
"Guilty. Drained. Guilty."
"Come on. Let's go get a cocoa." J'onn said.

As Kara entered her sister's house she saw her niece and nephew and immediately made a beeline to them before hugging them.
"Thank you so much."
"A hug is so not necessary." MJ replied before finally being released.
"What you did was stupid, but so so brave." The older Kara said. "Thank you. And anything that the version of me did to you in the dreamscape, I am so sorry."
"That wasn't you." MJ pointed out before asking. "But are you okay?"
"I'm fine." His aunt said.
"Where' s Alex?" The younger Kara asked.
"With Matt."
"In Arizona?" The younger Kara asked confused.
"No. On MJ's suggestion J'onn flew him here for the weekend."
"So you hanging here tonight?" Her niece asked.
"Yeah. Where is everyone?"
"Diz is being a bad patient next door. Mom is sleeping." The younger Kara said.
"And Mel is out shopping." MJ added.
"Again?" His aunt asked.
"She likes shopping." MJ shrugged. "Plus she wanted to get something for Alex. But she'll be back soon." He said.
"Something for Alex?" His aunt asked confused.
"Yeah the perfect gift for being trapped in a dreamworld with an insane parasite." MJ said.
"And there is a gift for that?" Kara asked, still confused.
"According to Mel, there is a gift for everything. Which translates to there is always a reason to shop."
"You know you can't afford to keep her right?" His sister asked.
"Funny." MJ said as they heard someone coming down stairs.
"Hey." The older Alex greeted her sister. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine."
"And Alex?"
"With Matt."
"You here for dinner then?"
"I am. If that's okay?"
"Of course it is." Her sister said as her daughter's phone buzzed.
"But we're not." The younger Kara said.
"Who is we?" Her mother questioned.
"MJ, Mel and me."
"Why and what about Diz?" Alex asked.
"We are going bowling with Matt, Alex and Martin. Diz needs to rest so I will leave him in your care." Her daughter explained.
"Has Diz upset you?" MJ asked following his sister out of the kitchen.

"Want me to go?" Diz asked when the older Kara and Alex came into the lounge.
"Of course not." Kara said.
"You sure? You have that look." Diz said.
"What look?" Kara asked frowning.
"The look that means you have lots to discuss."
"I'm fine." Kara said. "More importantly, how are you feeling?"
"A little sore."
"Thank you for trying to look after Alex."
"I wasn't able to do much." He said. "How is she doing?"
"Feeling guilty and still a little scared." Kara said before looking at the tablet in Diz's hands and asking. "You looking at houses?"
"Umm, yeah. Well used to be houses. Now they are more like shells." Diz said.
"Why?"
"I was hoping to find one I could afford and then do it up next year. Only at these prices, maybe not. At least not in a half decent area, especially with all the other costs." He said putting the tablet down.
"What costs?" Kara asked.
"Kar's tuition for Med school, plus the wedding costs-"
"Diz you don't need to worry about her tuition or the wedding, I'll cover that." Alex said. Seeing Diz was going to argue she added. "You just focus on the future." Before Diz could respond the doorbell went.
"I'll get it." Kara said jumping up and moving to the door.
"Steve?" She asked confused.
"Hi." He smiled.
"Hi. I thought you were working?"
"My shift just finished."
"Don't you need to sleep?"
"I have the next few days off so sleep can wait. How are you?" Steve asked.
"Holding on." She said causing Steve to hug her before he asked.
"And Alex?"
"Doing better than I'd be."
"You'll both be okay." He said kissing her head. "And in the mean time these may help." He said pulling away and pulling a bag from his pocket.
"Crullers?" Kara asked peering into the bag.
"I thought you'd like them." He smiled.
"I do. Thank you." Kara said as her sister appeared behind them.
"Hi Steve."
"Hey Alex."
"Your timing is perfect." Alex said.
"I'm not sure I like the sound of that." Steve said.
"It's fine. It's games night."
"Definitely don't like the sound of that." Steve said.
"Kara needs cheering up." Alex argued.
"That is playing dirty." Steve said.
"So you'll stay?" Kara asked.
"Only if I am on your team."
"Fine with me." Alex said leading them through to the lounge.
"Hey Diz." Steve smiled. "Feeling better?"
"I'm fine."
"It'd be more convincing if you weren't grimacing." Steve pointed out.
"Maybe he knows he is partnering Alex and is burdened by the weight of that responsibility." Kara said.
"What?" Diz asked lost.
"It's games night. I have Kara. You have Alex." Steve said.
"Any advice?" Diz asked Kara.
"Normally I'd say let the Wookie win." Kara said. "But seeing you are with the Wookie, don't screw up."

"I'm back." The younger Kara called three hours later.
"In the lounge." Her mother called back. When her daughter entered the lounge alone she asked. "Where is everyone?"
"Alex is at her place with Matt. Martin has gone home."
"And your brother?" The older Alex asked.
"Gone for a late night ice cream with Mel." The younger Kara said. "So what have you been up to?"
"Games night." Diz said.
"Oh, how's your ego?" Kara asked feeling guilty about leaving him.
"Good. We won." Diz said.
"We?" The younger Kara asked looking round the room.
"I partnered Diz." Her mother said.
"Wow, you must really suck." The younger Kara said to Steve.
"So your mom keeps telling me." Steve shrugged.
"How was bowling?" Her aunt asked.
"Good. Alex was cheating so that was good I guess." The younger Kara said.
"Why is Alex cheating a good thing?" Her mother asked.
"She felt in control enough not to use her necklace." She said sitting next to Diz.
"That is progress." Her aunt agreed before asking. "How are you doing?"
"Me? Fine. Why?"
"I tried killing you."
"That was Worldkiller-1, not you. Plus it was not real." The younger Kara said. "I'm fine. But I am pretty sure you and mom aren't so maybe you should focus on that."
"She has a point." Steve agreed.
"I'm fine." The older Alex said.
"No you're not." Her daughter responded. "But seeing you aren't going to confess that to me, I am going to bed so you guys can talk." She added standing, before helping Diz stand. "Night." She added as she and Diz left the room.
"Want me to go as well?" Steve asked.
"It's fine." Alex said. "Kara, that one," she said pointing upwards, "isn't wrong, and Kara, that one," she said pointing at her sister, "needs to talk."
"About what?" Her sister asked.
"What happened to you. You were gone for hours and you summarised it in less than ten seconds. You need to talk."
"It doesn't take long to say I screwed up."
"What happened wasn't your fault." Steve said.
"I walked into a trap and got kidnapped." Kara said.
"So they were definitely after you?" Steve asked.
"Guess so."
"So are they still after her?" Steve asked Alex.
"Until we know who was behind it, it is a possibility. Right now her captors aren't talking."
"You think Indomitable is alive?" Kara asked.
"It's not his MO." Alex said. "But we will find out, we have the people who were with you in the caves. They will talk. In the mean time, you need to be careful."
"What if they go for Alex?" Kara asked. "What if that was their plan all along?"
"There is no evidence to suggest that, but we will keep an eye on Alex."
