"Mom sent you?" The teenage Alex guessed when she saw her aunt approach her and Chewie in the park.
"She's worried about you. And she is worried you aren't talking because of what Worldkiller-1 did to you has made you scared of her."
"I'm not. I told her I wasn't scared of her. What happened with Worldkiller-1 has nothing to do with it. Well not what Worldkiller-1 did when it was in in me." Alex said sitting on a bench.
"Then what is it?" Her aunt asked sitting next to her.
"Did I kill them?" Alex asked her aunt.
"Kill who?" The older Alex asked lost.
"The people who kidnapped mom."
"What?" The older Alex asked still confused.
"In the tunnels. I made sure Ruby and Diz were far enough away, but not the guys who were with mom. When I used Lena's Hail Mary, did I kill them?"
"No. They're fine." Alex said. "Well not fine, they are being interrogated at the DEO. But they are alive. You thought you killed them?"
"Yes."
"You didn't. And I am sorry I didn't make that clear earlier." Alex said pulling her niece in for a hug.
"But I could have killed them." Alex said. "I mean I didn't even think about them I just tried to save mom."
"You did save your mom."
"But if I had killed them mom would have never forgiven me-"
"If you had killed them your mother would have never forgiven herself for you being in that situation. But she wouldn't blame you."
"But she'd have been disappointed. I mean the whole no killing thing is her code."
"It is, but she accepts it isn't mine." Her aunt said. "But the most important thing is both you and your mom are fine."

"I'm sorry." Kara said as she sat next to Steve in her apartment.
"For what?" Steve asked confused.
"Alex forcing you to babysit."
"I'm not babysitting and Alex didn't force me into anything. Apart from games' night." Steve pointed out. "So how are you doing?"
"I hate what I did to Alex."
"That wasn't you." Steve said. "And Alex seems fine round you so she clearly doesn't hold you responsible."
"But she is still suffering."
"You both are." Steve said. "And I am happy to listen to everything that is on your mind, but do you think that maybe talking to Alex would help both of you."
"Alex doesn't want to talk."
"Well, you are Supergirl, I am pretty sure you can make her listen." Steve pointed out as there was a knock on the door.
"Hi Frax." Kara smiled as opened the front door.
"Hello Kara. Are you recovered?"
"I am, thank you."
"I hope you don't mind me coming, but I wanted to see Alex. Assuming she is feeling up to it."
"Of course. She is out walking Chewie, but she'll be back any minute. Come in and wait." She said, but when Frax saw Steve he said.
"I'm sorry, am I interrupting?"
"No." Kara said. "Steve, this is Frax, Alex's uncle, and Frax, this is Steve."
"Hi." Steve said before offering. "Did you want me to go?"
"Umm." Frax said not knowing what he could say. "It's up to Kara."
"He knows everything." Kara explained. "So what's on your mind."
"I wanted to talk to you about what happened. I have given it much thought and have been greatly troubled by it." He said before asking. "Last time you saw Worldkiller-1, it was with Lobo?"
"Yes."
"So how did Worldkiller-1 get free?" Frax asked.
"You think Lobo deliberately released Worldkiller-1 so it would possess me so Lobo could fight me?" Kara asked.
"That's not quite where I was going. I was going to suggest Lobo released or sold Worldkiller-1. But now you mention it, the more twisted element does seem a Lobo type of thing to do." Frax said. "Only if that was his plan, seeing Alex was also possessed, he would be in breach. Again." Frax said. "Do you mind if I investigate?"
"Of course I mind. It is dangerous. You could get hurt." Kara said.
"I'm sorry, the translation was wrong. I meant do you mind if I organise an investigation?"
"That could still be dangerous." Kara said.
"My concern is Alex." Frax reminded her.
"Then thank you, but please be careful." Kara said as the front door opened.
"Frax! You're back?" The younger Alex said before hugging her uncle.
"Hello Alex. How are you?"
"I'm okay."
"Good. I was very worried about you and your mother." He said.
"I'm sorry I didn't contact you." Alex said.
"Your recovery was more important." Frax smiled. "I have to go back to Dakran for a short trip, perhaps we can spend some time together before I go?"
"Sure, are you doing anything now?"
"No." Frax said.
"You don't mind do you?" Alex asked her mother.
"No. Go have fun." Kara smiled.

"Everything okay?" The older Alex asked when Mel came into kitchen late that evening.
"Yes. But no." Mel said. "Can we talk?"
"Sure. What's wrong?" Alex asked wondering what the problem was.
"I want to help."
"With?" Alex asked.
"Clearing up my father's mistakes."
"You aren't responsible for your father's actions." Alex reminded her.
"Maybe, but that doesn't mean I should do nothing."
"You aren't doing nothing, you are there for Alex and MJ." Alex reminded her.
"Well I benefit from that as well." Mel said.
"I repeat my earlier statement of you aren't responsible for your father." Alex said.
"Well it isn't just my father, it is my whole family and their businesses. But they are all self serving so they won't do the right thing." Mel said. "And being under house arrest isn't exactly a punishment is it?"
"Again, you aren't responsible."
"But I still want to help. Which is why today I wasn't really out shopping. I mean I was, but not for the whole day. Most of the time I was getting this." She said passing Alex a hard drive.
"What is it?" Alex asked.
"It's got some of my father's files. By some I mean a lot. But maybe not all. But they are encrypted. I couldn't break it, but maybe your guys could."
"How did you get this?" Alex asked confused.
"My family has property everywhere. When I was out shopping I saw a building that looked really familiar. I think I went there when I was ten. So I tried the biolock and it recognised my retina. After that I went up to the penthouse, and again my retina was recognised so I went in. It didn't look like anyone had been there recently, but there was a backup disk and I copied the contents."
"Did MJ know?"
"No. I mean it wasn't planned. It just kinda happened. But even if it were planned I don't want to put him in danger so I don't know if I would have told him. I mean he'd insist on coming."
"Mel, while I appreciate this, you shouldn't have done it. You could have got hurt."
"I couldn't do nothing."
"How come we didn't know about that property?"
"Shell companies, trust funds, my family has baggage and loop holes."
"You sure you want to give me this?" Alex asked. "I will do my best to make sure people don't know where I got it, but I can't guarantee your family won't find out."
"I know. But I don't care. Being here round you guys made me realise how while I may be related to them, we aren't family."

Waking up, dripping in sweat, her heart pounding, Kara realised the terror she had just seem was Alex's nightmare, not hers.
Rushing to her daughter's room she saw her daughter thrashing on the bed.
"Alex wake up." Kara said sitting on her bed moments before Alex sat up, her eyes flying open.
"Mom?" The teen asked confused.
"I'm right here. It was a nightmare, but you are safe now." Kara said hugging her. After a minute she pulled away and asked. "You okay?"
"I guess. The bright side is I have got over my fear of being stabbed." The teen said dryly. "And gone back to being terrified of water."
"You'll be okay." Kara said hugging her again. "But it will take time."
"Hate time."
"So do I." Kara agreed. "I promise you it gets easier."
"What if it isn't really gone, or what if some of Worldkiller-1 is still in me?"
"I wish I could tell you that thought will disappear, but I live with that thought everyday." Kara said.
"How do you deal with it?"
"I can see the belief everyone else, including you, has that I am free from Worldkiller-1." Kara said. "But after the first time I would second guess myself everyday over every decision I made, wondering if I had made it or Worldkiller-1."
"You still do that?"
"A little."
"You suck at pep talks. But thanks for telling me the truth." The teen said.
"You think you can sleep?"
"No."
"Want to go to the desert and blow up some rocks?"
"Shouldn't you sleep?"
"Sleep is for humans." Kara said.
"Pretty sure it is for Kryptonians as well." Alex said. "But blowing up rocks sounds good." She said before pausing. "But do you trust me?"
"How do you mean?"
"Last time I lost control."
"That's why we train." Kara reminded her.
