A/N: Thanks for the reviews.

Baratta jennifer - thanks!

"You have something?" Alex asked walking over to Ruby.

"Maybe. I was wondering, what if the extreme storms yesterday were caused by a meta, then this meta could be that meta." Ruby said.

"Okay, but if they are taking on new powers does that help?" Alex asked.

"No, but I was thinking if it was one meta who could transport, maybe there is enough data to track it."

"I assume you found something?"

"Yes." Ruby said. "Right before they disappeared there was a surge. The power of that surge is correlated with distance at which they reappear, which sounds more useful than it is. But when the portal is created, there is also a surge where it emerges."

"So we'll know where they go?" Alex asked.

"Yes."

"Good work."

"Actually there is more." Ruby said.

"What?"

"Those surges are actually RF signals. RF signals that we can track with the various science radio telescopes in space."

"We monitoring now?" Alex asked.

"Yes. So we know where the meta went with the last jump."

"Where?" Alex asked.

"The finance district." Ruby explained.

"But he didn't attack?" Alex asked confused.

"No. He went into this building." Ruby said pointing at an image. "As far as we know he is still there."

"Want us to send Supergirl?" Vasquez asked.

"I don't know. She could be going into a trap. Or he needs to recharge, in which case now is the best time to attack." Alex said. "But I am not sending her in unless I know she has protection from those stolen weapons. I need to talk to Lena and mom." She said walking off. "But get everything you can on that building." She added disappearing down the corridor.

As soon as she entered the lab where Lena and Eliza were talking she asked. "How far off having a suit that will protect her?"

"We can't protect against all the weapons. We don't even know how some of them would work. But I have made the upgrades and it is as good as it will be this side of Christmas."

"Okay, where's Kara?" Alex asked.

"She went to the infirmary to check on the kids." Eliza said.

"How did she seem?" Alex asked.

"Said she was fine, but also admitted she was frustrated." Eliza said. "Are the questions because she is about to fight?"

"Looks that way." Alex said..

"I don't think that is a good idea." Eliza said.

"That makes two of us, but she won't sit this one out." Alex said walking off.

"Have you changed jobs?" Kara asked stepping out of her niece's room and seeing Steve in the DEO infirmary.

"Well, this place is short staffed and I had a day off."

"I think you need a new hobby."

"Apparently MJ is of the same opinion." Steve smiled.

"Seriously, you need a new hobby." Kara went on.

"Says the woman who spends her spare time fighting bad guys." Steve countered before turning serious and asking. "You going to be okay? I mean you were fighting all day yesterday, then flew to Arizona, came back, and are about to fight a wannabe Indomitable."

"I'll be okay." Kara said. "I have plenty to fight for."

"Make sure you are." Steve said as Alex came into the room.

"Kara, we're – sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt." Alex greeted.

"I need to get back to work anyway. My new boss is a complete slave driver." Steve smiled.

"Tell me about it." Kara smiled back.

"Make sure you come back safe." Steve said kissing Kara before leaving her with her sister.

"We have a location." Alex said. "But it could be a trap. I can't guarantee you will safe."

"I know. But you have done all you can." Kara said.

"You sure you want to go out there?"

"After everything that happened yesterday, I have to be out there. The city needs me."

"Okay, but please be careful."

"Always."

"Alex, Ruby found something else." Vasquez said entering the infirmary.

"What?" Alex asked.

"The locations where the portals go, had an extra signal. We think it is a beacon. We have been looking at the spectrum and we think we know where all the beacons are."

"So we know where every portal will go?" Supergirl asked.

"Maybe."

"Can we turn the beacons off?" Supergirl asked.

"In theory." Vasquez confirmed.

"Then I have plan." Supergirl said.

"All teams are in position." Vasquez reported twenty minutes later.

"And Supergirl?" Alex asked.

"Ready and waiting."

"Okay, let's do this." Alex said reaching for her radio. "We go in five, four, three, two, one. Go go go." Alex ordered. Moments later a DEO team breached the building the meta had transported into while several other teams destroyed all but one of the beacons.

"Ma'am, this looks more like a lab rather than an upmarket office." Murton reported over the radio as they raided the office building in the finance district.

"Slow and steady, there could be traps." Alex warned as she watched the video feeds. She then changed channel and asked. "Supergirl, you ready?"

"Yes." She replied over the radio just as the President appeared in the control room.

"Don't worry, I am not here to interfere." The President said when he saw Alex's frown.

"It would be safer in the bunker." Alex replied.

"So my Agents keep telling me. But here, I maybe able to do something." He pointed out as the DEO in the finance building burst through another door where a meta was standing over another human looking like it was sucking the life force from it. Seeing the DEO agents the meta immediately stopped and disappeared into a portal.

"We know who that meta is?" The President asked.

"Thumper, not that means much now. Who knows what powers he has." Alex said before the screens switched to a location on the outskirts of the village where Supergirl was waiting. Moments later a portal appeared and Thumper stepped out. As soon as he saw Supergirl he looked confused, then angry. He then started to attack her.

"Ma'am." McGrath called over the radio.

"What is it?"

"We just found a weapons cache near where the beacon was. It was hidden in a nearby shop."

"Supergirl." Alex called over the radio. "There could be weapons nearby. Try not to let Thumper get them."

"Bit hard to stop him right now." Supergirl said as she tried to block the barrage of punches moments before electricity shot out of Thumper's chest and sent Supergirl flying into a warehouse. The burst of electricity momentarily causing Kara's suit readings to show no heartbeat.

"Supergirl? Supergirl can you hear me?" Alex asked.

"Yeah." Supergirl groaned before unsteadily getting to her feet and stumbling out if the warehouse. "I can't see him." She said looking round.

"Ma'am, the meta Thumper was attacking in the office when we arrived. I recognise, he is like Livewire." Murton reported over the radio.

"Just figured that one out." Vasquez said. "Go through that building inch by inch."

"Yes Ma'am."

"You okay?" Alex asked her sister.

"Yeah, maybe." She said sounding dazed. "What's that?" She asked.

"What?" Alex asked.

"There's loads of drones." She said looking up.

"They're media." Rose reported showing the news on Channel 9.

"How did they know?"

"They must have been tipped. Where is Poppy Hunter?" Alex asked.

"Right in the lime light." Vasquez said.

"Figure out who she has been talking to." Alex said as Supergirl continued to look for Thumper.

"Can you guys see anything?" Supergirl asked.

"No. Nothing. There must be a bunker round there somewhere." Alex said moments before she heard her sister screaming in pain. Looking at the Channel 9 news feed she saw Supergirl writhing on the ground, blood pouring from her leg, Thumper approaching with some sort of weapon in his hand.

"Alex." Jane called running towards Matt and Alex who were returning from the workshop.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked.

"It's your mom. You might want to see the news."

Paling Alex ran into the house where Matt's parents were watching the news, which showed Supergirl fighting Thumper while badly hurt.

"It appears that the government has been creating weapons specifically designed to kill Kryptonians. Somehow Thumper, a former ally of Indomitable has obtained some of them and is using them against Supergirl." The reporter said as Matt and Jane made it back to the lounge. Catching the end of the report Matt pulled Alex into his arms.

Suddenly noticing the teens Matt's mother turned and apologised.

"I'm sorry, do you want us to turn this off?"

"No, I need to know what is happening." Alex said as Matt held her tightly.
