Chapter 2: Plan
Nessie
I refused to let either one of my babies out of my sight after the conversation that I had just overheard. My mind was reeling when I got back to my room after the meeting with the lawyer. I never liked my aunt, nor my uncle, or my two cousins. They'd all made their disdain for my babies and I very clear since they got here for the funeral. There love of money had been obvious. But I never, in a million years, had imagined that they would kill for it.
We're going to have to stage a little accident for that niece of mine as well as those two little spawns of hers. We need to get all three of them out of the way if we want that fortune. My aunt's words echoed in my brain on repeat.
I locked myself in my room with Faith and Hunter. I didn't think they were stupid enough to try to kill us today. I mean it would be very suspicious if my babies and I all suddenly turned up dead only hours after the lawyer told them that they would only get the inheritance if I died without any living descendants to inherit after me.
We weren't safe here anymore though. A half baked plan was already forming in my head. Tonight I would leave with my babies. I didn't know where we would go but anywhere was safer than herd. I just needed some time away and a safe place to think about what I was going to do about my so-called family. I had already thought about just giving my aunt my inheritance. A nagging thought at the back of my head told me that my parents wouldn't want that though. If they wanted my aunt and her family to have it they'd have left everything to her. But no. They had specifically said shall be left to our daughter Renesmee Carlie Cullen and her descendants. They had wanted me and only me to inherit everything. They had ensured that only my children will inherit after me. I couldn't go against their wishes and give my evil aunt everything.
So I came up with option number two. I could go to the police and tell them everything. The only one glaring problem though is that I didn't have any evidence to prove that my aunt was planning on killing my children and I.
So that just left me with option number three. We had to leave for our own safety. I started packing my bags which was filled mainly with baby stuff. Clothes, diapers, wipes, toys, even the books I liked to read to help them fall asleep.
I stayed locked up in my bedroom all day even refusing to eat when the cooks brought me food. I trusted the cooks wholeheartedly but I wouldn't put it past my aunt to secretly poison the food now that I knew what she was capable of. So I would have to stop for food after I made my escape.
I waited until ten o clock. My aunt, uncle, and cousins were usually in their rooms by then. As were the rest of the staff as well. I unfolded the double stroller I kept stored in my closet and ever so carefully placed each baby inside of it. Each duffel bag was stored at the bottom. I crept out of my room quietly.
I tried my best not to make any noise as I walked down the hallways. It was a long walk to the garage where all of our cars were kept. We lived in a mansion that had twenty bedrooms and twenty bathrooms. The staff occupied about half of the bedrooms we had.
When I got to the garage I had to walk past rows and rows of cars. My dad had a nice collection of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Rolls Royce. My mom had a weird obsession with Volvo. My dad and I didn't understand it. She could have any car she wanted and she chose to collect Volvos. She just said that she loved them but I had a feeling that there was something more there that she wasn't telling me. That she would never get a chance to tell me now.
I only had my Mercedes-Benz which my parents gifted to me on my 18th birthday a few months back. It was the only car here that was truly mine. Well I suppose they are all truly mine now. I tried to push that sobering thought out of my mind.
Finally. I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw my shiny silver Mercedes-Benz. Well it was now or never. I picked up Hunter and wrapped him in his blanket and buckled him into his car seat. His eyes just stared at me in wonder. I kissed his little cheek. I took Faith out of the stroller and wrapped her in her pink blanket and quickly buckled her into her car seat as well. I kissed her as well. She giggled. I popped open my trunk and threw the bags inside. I folded up the stroller quick and put that in the back as well. I slammed my trunk shut and then nearly fell over as I ran to the driver's seat. I tossed my purse onto the passenger seat and turned the ignition on. I buckled my own seatbelt and backed out of that parking space as fast as I could. I almost forgot to put the car in drive in my haste to escape.
I stopped at a lonely McDonald's just to get some food to eat. Then I drove. I got on the freeway and just drove. I drove for so long that I crossed state lines. When I glanced at the clock it was two in the morning. I was starting to get tired. I should probably stop and look for a motel or something.
I got off the freeway and onto a lonely road. I should pull off to the side of the road and google the nearest motel. Something was wrong though. The car wasn't slowing down. I began to panic when I saw the approaching cliff. I slammed hard on my break but the car refused to slow down. I jerked the wheel to the left hard to avoid going over the cliff. I yanked on my emergency break which brought the car to a sudden and violent stop. I jerked my body around to face my babies and make sure they were okay. Thankfully they seemed fine.
Another car pulled up behind me. A man got out of the driver's side and my jaw felt like it had dropped to the floor. The man was more handsome than any movie star I had ever seen. Gold eyes. Must be contacts. And by the looks of it he was a doctor.
He looked concerned as he walked up to my door. "Are you okay? I saw what happened?"
"Yeah we're fine. A little shook up maybe but we're fine?"
"We?"
"I mean my babies and I,"
He looked even more worried. "I think you should get to a hospital,"
A hospital. I froze. All that blood. There was a reason I hated hospitals more than most people. Blood smelled so good and it always ignited a thirst in me that freaked me out. I never told anyone about that. Not even my mom whom I'd been closer to then anyone else on the planet. The three days I'd been in the hospital after giving birth were pure torture. I came so close to attacking people when I smelled blood.
"No we're fine. We don't need a hospital,"
He shook his head. "Well I'd prefer if you at least let me examine you and your babies. I'm a doctor. My house isn't too far from here and I can examine you there if you'd like,"
I didn't get any bad vibes from this guy. It was strange but I felt that I could trust him. "Let me just see if I can stand first. I think I'm still in shock," what I was, as it turned out, was dizzy. He caught me when I almost fell over. Holy crap was he cold. "I'm Carlisle by the way,"
"Where did you get this picture?" He asked me, shocked. He held the picture I kept of my mom on my dashboard.
"That's my mom. Bella," I said. "Sorry I think I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Renesmee Cullen,"
Carlisle looked at me like I had two heads. "Can you repeat that please?"
"My name is Renesmee Cullen. My mom wanted me to have my dad's last name even though he never knew about me,"
"How old are you? When were you born? Where were you born?"
I was a little shocked by his questions. "Well I'm eighteen years old. I was born on June 12th,2006 in Forks, Washington. I'm sorry why are you asking me all this?"
"And Bella is your mother?"
"She was my mom. She died in a car accident two weeks ago sadly,"
Silence. Pure silence.
