A/N Hello everyone I'm back with another chapter for you all. The usual thanks are in order. Enjoy ch 12
Ch 12 Payback
Inside the cave Shida and Mtunga were brooding. "Damn that Dogo," Shida hissed, her brown eyes stormy. "He's even dumber than I thought!"
"I'll say," Mtunga hissed back. "I mean he can't even wait a couple of months to attack."
"Yeah and this time he attacked innocent cubs," Shida said. "I mean its one thing to attack Kopa. He's a grown lion and he deserves every bit of pain that's coming to him. But little Kinte didn't do anything wrong."
"Yeah I know," Mtunga said with a sigh. "Kinte isn't that much younger than Mjuku. And I certainly don't want anything happening to her."
"Neither do I," Shida said. "I think we need to have another meeting with Cala and Dogo. You know set some boundaries and lay down the law when it comes to what we are and what we're not ok with."
"Agreed," Mtunga said. "We need..." But she stopped mid sentence when Kopa and Jasiri came walking in followed closely by the rest of the group. "That was a wonderful presentation," Mtunga said with a smile.
"Yes I agree," Shida said as she too smiled at Kiara and Nuka. Kiara had laid down by now and Mflame was at her side nursing. "And little Mflame is such a cutie," the beige coated lioness said. "She has your eyes Nuka."
"Yeah," Nuka said as he smiled down at his daughter. "I know she does."
"Still have your doubts about Mflame being Nuka's?" Kiara asked, her voice coming out rough.
"I'm so sorry I said those terrible things," Shida said, lowering her eyes in shame. "I was such a fool."
"As was I," Mtunga said. "I never should have said those things about you Kiara. Or you either Safara. I humbly apologize."
"We can only hope you can forgive us," Shida said
"Well I suppose I can let it go," Kiara said, looking at Safara, who nodded in agreement. "Just don't let it happen again or next time I won't be so forgiving."
"Thank you Kiara," Shida said with a smile. "That mean a lot that you and Safara can be so forgiving."
"This is a happy day," Nuka declared. "Its our daughter's presentation. Its a day for forgiveness not bitterness."
"I couldn't agree more Nuka," Kovu said with a smile. "This is a joyous day indeed." With that the group began to talk amongst themselves. Shida and Mtunga took the opportunity to sneak off to meet with Cala and Dogo. Little did they know that Jasiri had seen them leave and decided to follow them.
"I know those two are up to something," the rusty brown lioness thought. "And I'm going to find out exactly what that is." With that Jasiri followed Shida and Mtunga being careful not to be seen.
TLKTLKTLK
A little while later Shida and Mtunga were nearing the Outland border. But right before they crossed over Shida stopped in her tracks. "What's wrong Shi'?" Mtunga asked, keeping her voice low.
"I though I heard something," Shida said, sniffing the air. Just then a jack rabbit jumped out from the bushes.
"Aw what's the matter Shida?" Mtunga mocked. "Afraid of a little bunny rabbit?" Mtunga let out a laugh when she said this part.
"Shut up Mtunga," Shida growled. "Lets just go." With that the two lionesses entered the Outlands. Moments later Jasiri emerged from behind the rock she was hiding behind and went into the Outlands after Shida and Mtunga.
"I knew those two were up to something," Jasiri thought as she continued to follow the pair. Then she heard a very familiar voice. Hiding behind another rock Jasiri saw Shida and Mtunga talking to Cala. But to her shock she also saw Dogo there along with Mbaya.
"Damn you Dogo you really messed things up!" Cala snarled, glaring at Dogo.
"Look Cala you ain't my boss," Dogo shot back. "I don't have to run nothin' by you. I do what I want, when I want and to who I want."
"Oh you're right about that," Shida said. "You can do what you want. But know this Dogo: if you or anyone else in your Pack attack another innocent child then Mtunga and I are out. You got that?"
"And you can bet we'll be spreading the word about you," Mtunga chimed in.
"Like I give a damn," Dogo hissed.
"Dogo maybe you shouldn't piss them off," Mbaya said. "They're the only allies we have after all."
"Yeah well maybe you have a point," Dogo said after a few minutes. "Alright fine. I won't attack anymore kids. I mean I'm about to have a kid of my own after all."
"Sooner than you think," Mbaya said with a groan. "Ugh this pup keeps kicking me in the ribs."
"Yeah try having five of them in there," Reirei chimed in. "That was pure Hell let me tell you."
"Yeah, yeah we've all got troubles," Dogo scoffed. "Anyways back to the plan. I think I've been goin' 'bout this all wrong."
"Yeah no kidding," Uovu muttered to Endela, who snickered in response. Dogo glared at the pair, who quickly stopped and paid attention to the leader.
"As I was sayin'," Dogo said, the annoyance clear in his voice. "I've been goin' 'bout this all wrong. But I've got a new plan. Shida Mtunga do you two think you can find a way to get Kopa alone?"
"Sure we can," Shida said, looking at Mtunga who nodded in agreement.
"Uh problem here Dogo," Cala said.
"Ugh what now Cala?" Dogo demanded, glaring at Cala.
"Well two things here," Cala said. "One I've already tried luring Kopa into a trap and that didn't work so he won't be to keen on doing that again. And two Kopa doesn't like Shida or Mtunga so the likelihood of him going anywhere alone with them is pretty slim."
"Well we kind of smoothed things over with Kiara and Safara," Shida said.
"Really?" Cala said, arching an eyebrow at Shida.
"It really wasn't that hard Cala," Shida said.
"Yeah," Mtunga chimed in. "We really don't have a problem with Safara. Kiara's alright and she's going to be Queen soon so we have to suck it up."
"Haven't you been payin' attention?" Dogo snapped. "We're gettin' rid of Simba and his family and takin' over the Pride Lands. So you don't have to suck nothin' up."
"Aw do we have to do all that?" Goigoi groaned. "It sounds like so much work and you know I ain't intreated in all that."
"Yeah we know Pop," Dogo's sister, Maana said, rolling her black eyes.
"Yeah," one of Dogo's brothers piped up. "You only say that like every other second."
"Shut up Mwongo," another one of Dogo's brothers snapped.
"You shut up Kashfa," Mwongo shot back.
"Both of you shut up," Dogo snarled, glaring at his brothers.
"This shit is exactly why Dogo is in charge even if he's the youngest," Reirei groaned.
"Anyways," Dogo continued, giving his brothers one final glare. "If you guys ain't interested in gettin' rid of Simba and his family then we've got a problem."
"We got no problem Dogo," Cala piped up quickly. "Do we ladies?" Cala looked at Shida and Mtunga when she said this part.
"I don't want any innocent children to get hurt," Shida said. "And that includes Kiara and Nuka's daughter and the cub that Vitani and Chafu are about to have."
"Yeah alright fine," Dogo said, rolling his blue eyes. "Whatever you say."
"So do we have a deal?" Reirei asked. Shida and Mtunga looked at each before they opened their mouths to respond.
"We're in," Shida said. When Jasiri heard this she gasped.
"I've got to tell King Simba what's going on," Jasiri thought as she turned to leave. After making sure no one was looking Jasiri took off full force towards the Pride Lands to inform Simba and Zira what she had just learned.
