"So here we go," Augustine began.

They were both at a small training field behind the Lab, both trainers facing each other as the lab assistants were filming on the side. Ash looked regal in his training gear (black tight jeans, white V-neck shirt, black leather vest and black fingerless gloves), with the golden Key Stone necklace and his dragons by his side. Sycamore looked the same as always, with his lab coat and blue button up shirt, but the atmosphere around him had changed completely. It demanded attention and respect, but at the same time imposing fear. It made Ash weary but not able to take his eyes away from him.

"Come out Garchomp!" The Professor released the pseudo-legendary pokemon, who roared sending shivers down everyone's spins.

"Wow," Ash murmured lowly, quite impressed by the sight the opposing dragon made.

He could not wait until Ladon evolved, he was already powerful as a Gible and looking at the Garchomp in front of, it him made him wonder how much stronger he'll become. Ladon, on his part, was over the moon. It was the first time he was meeting another pokemon from the Gible line. In the Nature Preserve he usually met other types of dragons. Seeing such a powerful Garchomp had him excited all over again for his evolution. Which he still did not understand why it had not happened yet. His human and Alpha had trained him hard and he was too powerful to stay a Gible, most others would have already evolved. They even took him to the Pokemon Center in case something was wrong with him, but the pink haired woman had said he was completely healthy. So, why had he not evolve yet?

Ele could not stop herself from feeling jealous. She had been the only female in the Thunder since the start. Now there was a pseudo-legendary Garchomp who had her human and cub sighing in amazement. What if she was no longer enough? What if Ladon no longer looked up at her as a mother figure?

"Hey sweetheart, you do know you are still the best girl, right?" Ash whispered to Ele, when he noticed her weird behavior. "You are my starter and Ladon and Drako's mom," he assured her, seeing as she was feeling insecure. "Right Ladon?"

Ladon snapped out of his train of thoughts to look at his mother figure, wondering how the strong and powerful Alpha could end up looking so small and insecure. He was starstruck for a moment, but that didn't mean he would start seeing the Garchomp as Thunder. That's ridiculous!

"Gi- le- gible!" He assured his Alpha, who smiled back, looking more like herself now.

"Everything ok over there?" Augustine asked, worriedly.

He knew more than anyone how dangerous Mega Evolving a dragon could be. If they were not ready or in the right state of mind the result could be disastrous.

"Yeah, just a small issue," Ash answered, "But it's already resolved."

"Good. Then let's start!" Replied Sycamore, taking out his Key Stone. "Let's Mega Evolve Garchomp!"

An orange light enveloped Garchomp. The very ground seemed to tremble as the energy radiating from Garchomp intensified. As the light slowly faded, Ash's eyes widened in astonishment.

Garchomp's form had undergone a magnificent metamorphosis. His once sleek and formidable figure had become even more angular, exuding an air of heightened aggression and power. His head and shoulders boasted a sharper and more menacing appearance, emphasizing its dominance.

What truly caught Ash's attention were the additions that adorned his body. Sprouting from each side of his abdomen were rows of five tooth-like spikes, lending an even more ferocious aspect to Garchomp's already intimidating presence. Red spikes jutted forth from his knees, further enhancing his aura of danger.

In that moment, Ash couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of awe and respect for Garchomp's Mega Evolution. He had become a force to be reckoned with, a symbol of untamed power and unyielding determination. Truly, witnessing Garchomp in his Mega Evolved form was an experience that left an indelible mark on Ash's journey.

However, Ash was not the only one overwhelmed. Landon's eyes were sparkling with admiration and awe. He wanted that, he wanted to Mega Evolve more than anything in the world. Even Nephele was breathless, heart pumping with excitement as she knew she was about to be able to do that.

"You see, Mega Evolution does not only power up pokemon," Professor Sycamore began explaining, as he took a step next to his Garchomp and smiled proudly at his dragon. "Their senses get sharper and they even change anatomy to a certain degree. Some pokemon can get out of control when that happens, so you need to be careful about that." Suddenly, the Mega Evolution got cut off and the professor smiled encouragingly at Ash. "Now it's your turn."

As a young and aspiring pokemon trainer, Ash found himself on the precipice of a life-changing moment. His partner, the graceful Nephele, and he stood side by side, their hearts intertwined with a bond that ran deeper than any mere friendship. Together, they were about to embark on a journey that would transcend their limits and reveal the true extent of their connection.

With bated breath and trembling anticipation, he watched as Nephele's form shimmered and radiated with an ethereal light. The very air crackled with energy, and Ash could feel the intensity of their bond growing stronger by the second. In that transformative moment, Altaria Mega Evolved, and his awe knew no bounds.

Nephele's once elegant and serene figure underwent a remarkable metamorphosis. Her cloud-like plumage, already a thing of beauty, now expanded into a more extensive and enchanting display. A large, fluffy mass emerged from her back, resembling a celestial canopy that shimmered with an iridescent sheen. The feathers, now grown as a protective measure, seemed to defy gravity as they swayed with an ethereal grace. The cottony wings that were once delicate and ethereal became even more distinct, their intricate patterns accentuated by the Mega Evolution. Nephele's golden belly, once hidden, was now proudly exposed, exuding a regal air. A collar of additional fluff encircled her neck, resembling a symbol of her newfound power and majesty. Adorning her head was a hat-like crest, further emphasizing her royal presence. A single, small feather curled out from her forehead, an elegant touch that retained Nephele's innate charm.

But perhaps the most breathtaking transformation was found in her tail feathers. Once ordinary and slender, they had now grown into a resplendent and mesmerizing wavy streamer. Three longer central plumes cascaded gracefully amidst the cascading waves, adding a touch of grandeur to Mega Altaria's appearance.

Yet, it was not just the physical changes that captivated Ash. As Mega Altaria, his Nephele, stood before him, emanating a newfound aura of strength and grace, Ash could feel their bond deepening. The Mega Evolution had opened a door to their connection, allowing them to understand each other on a profound level. It was as if their hearts beat in perfect synchrony, their thoughts intertwined in a harmony that transcended words.

And when Nephele began to sing, her voice resonated through the very depths of his being. Her song, more beautiful than ever before, carried a power that stirred Ash's soul. The melodious notes filled the air, evoking a sense of wonder and serenity that could only be experienced firsthand.

In that awe-inspiring moment, Ash realized that their bond had become something extraordinary. The trust and understanding they shared had transcended the limits of trainer and pokemon, intertwining them in a dance of strength, beauty, and unwavering loyalty.

"Nephele," Ash murmured, silent tears rolling down his cheeks. "That song... a la nanita nana. The song I first sang to you."

Our song!

Ash could almost hear the melodious voice whisper in his soul.

Ash giggled, wrapping his arms around her neck and pressing his face on her fluffy feathers.

Our song!

He tried to imitate her and proyect his feelings. By her melodious giggle, Ash knew it reached her.

"Wow! Outstanding!" Professor Sycamore exclaimed, startling Ash. He had completely forgotten that they were not alone. "To be able to do it on your first try and so smoothly! You two must have quite the deeo bond!"

"We do," Ash beamed at the professor. "Is everything ok with Nephele?"

"Let me see," Professor Sycamore smiled at him kindly, taking out his notebook. The professor gasped as he looked at her states. "Magnifique! Altaria has passed from a Dragon/Flying dual-type to a Dragon/Fairy dual-type!"

"She is a fairy now?!/Al-taria-taria?!" Both Ash and Nephele exclaimed at the same time, while Ash looked excited, Nephele looked as if she did not know what to do with those news. She was now part of the same pokemon-type that has immunity against dragons and has been terrorizing her kind for centuries.

Well, at least, while Mega Evolved, she does not need to worry about fairy pokemon and moves.

"There's more!" Professor Sycamore continued, hyped up. "Her ability has changed to Pixilate! Which makes Normal-type moves become Fairy-type moves!"

This is getting better and better! Nephele deflated, there was only so much fairy a dragon can handle after all.
