In their Pokemon Center room, Ash continued to vent his frustration, expressing his dissatisfaction with Paul's attitude. His voice filled the space with his passionate rant, while Celeste watched him with an amused smile, finding his behavior somewhat endearing. She couldn't help but think how adorable Ash looked when he acted a bit spoiled.
As Ash continued to voice his grievances, Nephele sensed his emotional state and took action. With a gentle flutter of her wings, she gracefully moved toward Ash, her cotton-like feathers enveloping him in a warm embrace. Nephele began to hum a soothing melody, her melodic tune permeating the air. The calming sound washed over Ash, his tense muscles relaxing in response to the serene atmosphere created by Nephele's gentle song. He felt the tension slowly melt away, replaced by a sense of tranquility and peace. The warmth and comfort of Nephele's wings brought a smile to his face.
Celeste watched the scene unfold, a soft smile playing on her lips. She admired the bond between Ash and Nephele, recognizing the deep connection they shared. It was moments like these that reminded her of the profound bond between humans and pokemon. As the melodious hum continued, Ash's anger subsided, replaced by a newfound calmness. He took a deep breath, allowing the peaceful ambiance to envelop him. He realized that getting worked up over Paul's behavior wouldn't change anything, and it was better to focus on the positive aspects of their journey.
Feeling grateful for the support and comfort from his pokemon, Ash turned to Nephele and gently patted her soft feathers. "Thanks, Nephele. You always know how to make me feel better," he said, his voice filled with appreciation.
Celeste chuckled softly, unable to contain her amusement any longer. "You know, Ash, you can be quite adorable when you get all riled up," she teased, a playful glimmer in her eyes.
Ash's cheeks flushed slightly, a mix of embarrassment and amusement coloring his face. He scratched his head, a bashful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Well, I guess everyone has their moments," he admitted, his voice tinged with self-awareness.
"Now, can you tell me what's got you so rilled up?" Celeste inquired curiously from her bed, where she was cuddling Hestia. "I though Champion Cynthia had gotten you all settle up."
"She did, until the bastard went ahead and insulted me training methods this morning, before he left!" Ash growled, before relaxing once more under Nephele's melodious humming. You knew that you pissed off a Ketchum when they started cursing. They never curse! "As he was leaving, he noticed me training Nephertite, Bruce, and Agni. He had the guts to tell me that I was babying my pokemon and that if I kept this up, it did not matter that they were dragons, and in Agni's case a starter pokemon, they will be weak... like I am, in his opinion."
"Wow..." Celeste chuckled. "Please tell me Landon was around! Arceus! How did I miss that!"
"Oh, my whole team was around," Ash replied with an evil smirk, one that looked adorable as the boy was literally swimming underneath Nephele's cotton-like feathers. "I had the delight to see him turn on his heels and run, as my whole Thunder gathered behind me." Ash snickered. "Serves him right!"
"At least, you got to meet Champion Cynthia," Celeste tried to remain possitive, she also did not like that trainer's attitude very much.
"I did!" Ash's eyes sparkled with pure joy. "She gave me so much advice about how to train Landon! She even told me that Lucian had given us high praise the last time the Sinnnoh League gathered! Can you believe it?!"
"I do," Celeste chuckled. "You guys deserv it! You've worked so hard!"
"We have! But so have you!" Ash returned the praise. "I have two gym badges and you have two contest ribbons, can you believe it?"
"Sometimes I still think it is a dream," Celeste sighed, hugging Hestia tightly. "We've only graduated like a couple of months ago and we are all the way in Sinnoh making waves... it's quite unbelievable."
"Well, like you said, we've worked hard," Ash chuckled. "We deserve it."
"That we do," Celeste sighed and then giggled when Nephele turned the lights off. "It seems like your pokemon is trying to tell us something."
"Yes, to go to sleep," Ash giggled as well. "She spent too much time with mom." Nepehle chirped insistently. "Got it! Going to sleep now, sheesh what a mom!" More rattling from Nephele. "Sorry! Going to sleep now!"
Celeste laughed loudly at how absurd her life has become on the last weeks, going to sleep and dreaming about taking the stage one more time. The following day the two of them made their way to the Hearthome City, it was a long journey but worth it. After all, the city not only did have a gym for Ash to challenge but also there's going to be a contest for Celeste to participate in. Excited they walked, stopping to train when needed, until they finally made it to the city.
As Ash and Celeste walked through the bustling streets of Hearthome City, they were surprised to run into their friend Nando at the entrance of the Hearthome City Gym. Nando shared the disappointing news that the Gym Leader would be away for an extended period of time, leaving Ash visibly crestfallen. However, Nando's words quickly changed the course of their plans. Nando also informed them about the upcoming Hearthome City Pokemon Tag Battle. Ash's face lit up with renewed enthusiasm, realizing that this was a perfect opportunity for him and Celeste to showcase their teamwork and battle skills together. They both agreed that participating in the Tag Battle would be a thrilling alternative to a Gym battle.
While discussing their decision, Nando mentioned that he was also participating in the Hearthome City Pokemon Contest. Celeste's eyes widened with anticipation, maybe she will finally find her rival in the contest world. She listened intently as Nando revealed that he himself only had one badge and one ribbon, adding a sense of friendly competition to their journey. With a gleam of determination in her eyes, Celeste expressed her eagerness to participate in the Pokemon Contest alongside Nando. The prospect of sharing the stage with Nando filled her with a mixture of excitement and motivation.
As they bid farewell to Nando, the air brimmed with anticipation for the upcoming events. Ash and Celeste made it to the Pokemon Center, where Celeste signed in for the contest while Ash went to put their things away in their room. That's where Celeste found him when she got back.
"Dissapointed?" Celeste asked with a chuckle, as Ash cuddled with Agni on his bed.
"I wanted to battle Gym Leader Fantina," Ash pouted. "I mean, she is a Gym Leader and a Top Coordinator! It would have been an incnredible battle!"
"It would have been," Celeste agreed, going to take a seat on her bed. "I would have loved to see her battle as a Gym Leader. But we can come again another time when she is here."
"You are right," Ash sighed, sitting up and dragging Agni to his lap. Not that the Fire-type minded, he was enjoying the cuddling session too much. All of their pokemon love their cuddling sessions with their trainers. "How are you doing? Excited? Nervous?"
"A little bit of both," Celeste answered. "In this contest we will need to use two pokemon, in both the appeal and battle round. It will be a first for us and that has me a little bit tense."
"That's good," Ash replied, gaining a startled look from Celeste. "We've been cruising through since we got to Sinnoh, I don't think I like where we were going... being tense, nervous, excited for new and difficult things is great. It means we still can be surprised. Just focus on having fun with your pokemon!"
"That's true," Celeste chuckled. "I will keep that in mind!"
Which she did. As Celeste stepped onto the grand stage, her heart pounding with anticipation but also excitement. She glanced at her two trusted partners, Pan and Hestia, standing proudly by her side. The spotlight beamed down upon them, casting a mesmerizing glow as the audience eagerly awaited their performance. With a confident smile, Celeste raised her hand and called out, "Pan, Hestia, let's show them our dazzling combination!" The crowd erupted in cheers as the music began to play, setting the stage for their captivating appeal.
Pan leaped forward gracefully, leaves rustling with each step. He exuded an aura of nature's energy as he summoned the power of Magical Leaf. Vibrant green leaves burst forth, swirling around him in a mesmerizing dance. The audience marveled at the display of natural beauty and precision. In perfect sync with Pan's display, Hestia unleashed a burst of flames, casting her Flamethrower into the air. The flames danced and intertwined with the swirling leaves, creating a breathtaking storm of fiery foliage. The stage was ablaze with the ethereal fusion of fire and nature, capturing the attention of everyone in the audience.
As the flaming leaves storm reached its peak, Celeste shouted, "Pan, Energy Ball!" Pan's eyes gleamed with determination as he gathered energy within himself. A sphere of vibrant green energy formed in his paws, crackling with raw power.
Without missing a beat, Hestia positioned herself beneath the Energy Ball, her keen instincts guiding her every move. As the sphere hovered above her, she swung her graceful tail with precision, delivering a powerful Iron Tail strike to propel the Energy Ball towards the ceiling of the stage. The crowd gasped in awe as the Energy Ball collided with the ceiling, scattering sparks of energy throughout the venue. Suddenly, the flaming leaves storm seemed to be drawn towards the Energy Ball, swirling around it in a mesmerizing dance. The leaves formed intricate patterns, enveloping the sphere like a molecular structure, a testament to the harmony between Pan and Hestia.
The spectacle reached its climax, captivating the hearts of the audience. The fusion of fiery and leafy elements created a spellbinding display, symbolizing the unity of fire and nature. Celeste couldn't help but feel a surge of pride, knowing that their performance had touched the hearts of everyone present. As the music reached its crescendo, Celeste and her pokemon took a bow, their radiant smiles reflecting their triumphant spirit. The audience erupted in thunderous applause, showering them with admiration and praise.
"What did I tell you?!" Ash rushed to hug her, as soon as she made it backstage. "You were awesome! All three of you!"
"I had so much fun!" Celeste laughed, going down to her knees to pat Pan and Hestia. "What about you? Did you have fun?" Both of her pokemon rubbed against her in agreement.
"Your harmonious preformance has reached my heart," Nando praised her with an elegant smile, as his Sunflora waved by his side. "I can't wait to face you on the stage."
Which as predicted by Nando ended up happening. Both of them passed into the battle rounds and made it all the way to the finals. Where Nando's Kricketune and Roselia faced against Celeste's Naiad and Zeus, leaving Ash's best friend in a clear disadvantage.
The tension was palpable as Nando and Celeste stood face to face on the dazzling stage of the Hearthome City Pokemon Contest finals. The crowd held its breath, awaiting the clash between these two talented trainers and their remarkable pokemon. Nando, with his elegant Kricketune and graceful Roselia, exuded a sense of confidence. Celeste, on the other hand, felt a surge of determination as she gazed at her agile Zeus, and her serene Naiad. Both trainers knew that this battle would be fierce, and they were ready to give it their all.
Nando's Kricketune and Roselia took the stage, their graceful movements complementing each other flawlessly. With a flourish, Nando commanded, "Kricketune, Silver Wind! Roselia, Sweet Scent!" Kricketune released a flurry of silver sparkles, while Roselia emitted a captivating aroma. The sparkles danced in the air, catching the fragrance and creating a dazzling display of shimmering petals, enchanting the audience and lowering Celeste's points.
Not to be outdone, Celeste's pokemon stepped forward, ready to amaze. "Zeus, Thunder Fang! Naiad, Water Gun!" she shouted. Zeus channeled electric energy into his fangs, crackling with power, while Naiad unleashed a powerful stream of water. The electrically charged water collided with the Thunder Fang, causing a brilliant display of sparks and a stunning shower of electrified droplets, lowering Nando's points.
Inspired by the combination of their teammates, Nando and Celeste exchanged determined glances, ready to take their performance to the next level.
"Kricketune, use Bug Buzz!" Nando commanded with fervor. As Kricketune emitted powerful sound waves, the air around her shimmered with energy.
Celeste met the challenge head-on. "Zeus, Discharge! Naiad, Muddy Water!" she shouted. Zeus released a surge of electric energy, filling the stage with crackling sparks, while Naiad conjured a swirling whirlpool of muddy water. The electrically charged water combined with the sound waves, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of crackling electricity encased within the swirling vortex, earning applause from the audience and significantly lowering Nando's points.
Not to be deterred, Nando unveiled his final combination. "Roselia, Mega Drain! Kricketune, Bug Buzz!" The energy in the air intensified as Roselia's vines extended towards Celeste's pokemon, drawing in energy while Kricketune filled the air with powerful sound waves.
Celeste frowned, her mind racing with a plan. "Zeus, Thunder Wave! Naiad, Water Gun!" she shouted. Zeus sent a wave of electric pulses rippling through the air, creating a field of electrical energy. Naiad added her Water Gun to the mix, transforming the electrical pulses into a vibrant torrent of electrified water.
The electrified water intertwined with the energy-absorbing vines, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The combination of Mega Drain and Bug Buzz collided with the electrified water, sending a surge of sparkling energy cascading across the stage. The audience gasped in awe as the energy-infused water enveloped the stage, transforming into a dazzling array of swirling colors and sparks. The intricate dance of energy and water mesmerized everyone, earning a standing ovation and significantly lowering Celeste's points.
As the performance drew to a close, the judges tallied the scores. The buzzer sounded, marking the end of the contest. The crowd erupted in thunderous applause, expressing their appreciation for the incredible displays of skill and coordination. In the end, Nando emerged as the winner, his carefully crafted combinations and seamless synchronization earning him the victory. Leaving Celeste in shock, this was her first loss. Hearing the whines from her pokemon, Celeste knelt down. Both Zeus and Naiad were looking down in shame, they lost.
"Now little ones, don't be like that," Celeste smiled at them warmly, giving each one a kiss on their foreheads. "We might have lost, but we had fun! Also, this is only our first defeat! We have many contests ahead of us, right?!" Zeus and Naiad perked up and jumped on Celeste, making her throw her head back laughing. "We will win next time! Got it?!"
