Stefan Cassadine was satisfied. Everything was coming together just as he planned. He had gotten Nikolas on probation and settled into a real home. The youngest Cassadine was back with his father and was now being given a tour of the estate by his father, who had declared that he wasn't ready for a nanny just yet. He wanted to give raising Ace without one a go since leaving Spencer's upbringing to one had been a disaster. And now, he had Alexis thinking about joining them. The only problem was that Nikolas was holding out hope that Spencer would join them here. Stefan had to be honest, he doubted it. Spencer was a married man now. He probably was of the mind that he enjoyed the freedom away from his father and being on his own.
So that's why Stefan was surprised when Jeffery, the new Cassadine butler, showed Spencer and his new bride into the foyer. Spencer of course seemed to be in his element, but the young lady was looking around the foyer with big doe brown eyes that made Stefan see why the youngest Cassadine fell hard. There was something sweet and pretty about Trina Robinson Cassadine.
"Spencer? How may I help you?" Stefan approached the young couple with his hands behind his back, keeping his tone friendly, but his eyes serious.
"Uncle Stefan. Father had invited Trina and I to move in here. We had discussed it and we decided it'd be a good idea. That way, Ace will feel more relaxed, and...father and I can have a better time reconnecting," Spencer explained.
Trina gasped at the painting that hung over the mantle. "Is that a Rembrandt?"
"Oh, yes. Return of the Prodigal Son. It's kind of ironic, isn't it?" Stefan chuckled, eyeing the painting. "I take it that you like art."
"Trina loves it. She's working at the Chuck now and she's quite the artist herself," Spencer couldn't help but brag, the pride was clear in his voice and face. "You should have seen her when we went to Monet's house and garden in France. She would have moved in there if I had let her."
"Spencer!" Trina laughed.
"I nearly had. I would have brought the place for you if you had let me," Spencer smiled indulgently, not for the first time drowning into those beautiful eyes of hers.
"You do too much," Trina shook her head, thinking to herself that this whole estate was too much, but she didn't say anything. She knew why they were here. Spencer needed to be close to his father, as well as Ace. She wasn't going to get in the way of that.
"Nikolas should be around here somewhere. I do know that he has a wing set up for you two," Stefan informed them just as Nikolas entered with Ace in his arms. His eyes widened with surprise and delight as he saw Spencer there, looking rather nervous.
"Spencer! You're here!" Nikolas exclaimed, trying not to sound too expectant, just in case this wasn't what he thought it was.
"Hello, Father. Trina and I talked and we decided that it'd be a good thing to accept your offer...that is if it's still on the table," Spencer greeted.
"Of course it is! Jeffery!" Nikolas called.
The butler seemed to appear out of nowhere as he came to answer Nikolas's call. "Yes, Master Nikolas."
"Will you please go retrieve Spencer and Trina's bags and take them to the North Wing? Just sit them outside the bedroom. I am sure that they'd want to keep their privacy," Nikolas ordered.
"Yes sir," the butler bowed his head and then went to do what he was told.
"Oh, that's not necessary. I'm sure that Spencer and I could have gotten the bags," Trina frowned, beginning to feel uncomfortable.
"Oh don't worry about it. It's his job. We pay him well to do it," Nikolas chuckled. "I was just showing Ace the mansion and the grounds. I wouldn't mind going through it again if you'd like to look around before settling in."
Suddenly Ace made a grumpy sound and held his arms out to Trina, much to Nikolas's surprise and Spencer's amusement.
"How many times have I told you, little man, that's my girl," Spencer took the baby from his father and kissed his cheek. "But she missed you too, you just remember that's your sister, alright. I don't look forward to having to compete with my baby brother. I'm afraid he'd win."
Trina rolled her eyes and felt like she had to explain. "Spencer has this stupid theory that Ace is flirting with me. I think it's just babies are drawn to people who like babies. They sense that, so cue the 'flirting'."
"Father, is it not flirting when he won't stop crying for me, but let Trina take him and he's as happy as can be?" Spencer chuckled, not realizing how at ease he felt with Nikolas as he drew him into the conversation, but both Trina and Stefan noticed. Maybe this was a good idea after all.
"Well, he is a Cassadine and we Cassadines are suckers for beautiful women. Trina is indeed beautiful. Lucky for you, she's too old for your brother. He'll be over it when he's ready to date."
"Which won't be until he's fifty," Spencer grinned at the baby holding him up and playing airplane with him, causing Ace to laugh and giggle.
"Ace is a lucky baby to have a big brother that loves him so much," Stefan observed.
"I agree. I would have loved to have had a big brother like that," Trina nodded.
"Yeah and he'd kick my behind for even daring to look at his sister, so I kindly disagree with that statement," Spencer laughed.
"Tell me about it. When I was dating Gia, Taggert wouldn't let up," Nikolas chuckled.
"Really? Daddy, was that protective of Aunt Gia?" Trina raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not surprised. I get the evil eye every time I see him," Spencer laughed and winced when Trina slapped his shoulder. "Daddy's not that bad."
"You're biased," Spencer chuckled, handing Ace back to Nikolas. "Father, I think Trina and I are ready to go to our wing now if that's ok. Maybe we can do a tour later."
"That'd be wonderful. I'll show you to your wing myself. No need to disturb Jeffrey," Nikolas smiled, motioning for the couple to follow him.
….
Trina was impressed. The wing that Nikolas had taken them to was the size of a small house. There were two floors. The bottom floor was a living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, den, and a room for servants. The upstairs were three bedrooms and an office or studio area. It was perfect for her and Spencer...and maybe a baby or two. Spencer was also impressed and he could feel himself relaxing and beginning to feel more in his element.
"This is better than Wyndemere," he looked around.
"Wyndemere is pretty fancy," Trina chuckled.
"It was cold and windy. This place...it's warm and calm. It's...it's like coming home for real. Especially since you're here."
"Well...since it's only us in this wing...should we christen it?" Trina asked, her smile seductive. "Like how we christened your grandmother's house?"
Spencer laughed and took her hand in his. "Are you horny, Queen?"
"Always for you, Preppy," Trina stepped in closer. "Take me for a ride, in that big king-sized bed."
"God, I love it when you turn into a sex kitten," Spencer wrapped his arms around her.
Without saying much of anything else, Spencer lifted Trina off her feet and carried her into the kitchen. He sat her down on the marble counter. "We'll start here."
Hours later, the couple were in the huge bed, wrapped around each other, both exhausted from the lovemaking that had taken place. They had done it in every single inch of the wing that they now called home.
"So...now that we've made love everywhere we could in this part of the mansion, how are you feeling about it?" Spencer asked, curiously.
"It's nearing feeling like home. It's still...a lot. I man a butler who does everything? And I bet there's a cook and maids and other servants…"
"From what I've seen, only in the main house...but if you want someone for us, I can look into it…"
"No!" Trina said a little too harshly, then winced and cleared her throat. "I mean, no. That's not necessary. I want to do as many things for myself as I can. I don't want to get used to being waited on hand and foot. It's just not...me. It's not how I was raised...do you understand or do you think I'm being stupid?"
"I can never think you're being stupid. I understand and if that's what you want, we'll keep it as it is. If I ever get in the mood to be Prince Cassadine and boss people around, I'll just go to the main part to do so," Spencer chuckled.
"You," Trina growled, tickling his sides and making him laugh even more. He grabbed her hands and pulled her on top of his body while he lay on his back. All laughter stopped as their eyes met and the heat of their desire reignited. "God, your face...it's so...angelic...beautiful…"
"I'm a guy...I shouldn't be beautiful," He practically whispered.
"Well, too bad. You are...my beautiful fallen angel…"
"Trina...I am supposed to be the one saying that stuff to you. How can you flip it like that?"
"It's the truth," She gently traced his features with feather-soft fingers, she was totally enthralled by him. "Can I draw you?"
"You can do anything you want…after you kiss me."
Trina simply smiled and leaned down to claim his lips in a kiss that quickly turned into another session of making love. Exhausted, she fell against him and sighed happily as his arms wrapped around her small body, holding her close.
"I love you, Spencer. I really really do."
"I love you too, Trina. I'm glad that you're here with me. I don't know what I would do if you weren't."
Trina smiled, lifting he head to look into his eyes. "Well, it's a good thing that you'll never have to find out."
